I've been using Autovets for the last 5 years for servicing/Mots and I couldn't recommend them highly enough. Sam, Steve and all the team are professional, knowledgeable and courteous. Small things like a valet when they do a service plus they will ALWAYS call when they say they will...a bit different from other garages I've used. I noticed my recently purchased Mercedes E220 2012 had a check engine light come up and being a person who has no idea about cars, I immediately panicked. I was looking around Brighton for a reliable specialist and this place stood out. I made an appointment and took it in for a diagnostic. I was received by Steve who was super approachable and helpful. By the same day they did a smoke test and figured out that there is a leak somewhere. They asked me if I am okay with them removing bits to locate the leak, they were very transparent with the whole situation and explained everything along the way. Upon opening some bits they found out the culprit was an in-let manifold and it had to be replaced. They gave me a price quote and a time frame and they stuck to it. The repair took a day more than planned due to a wrong part being ordered, but Steve was kind enough to take that out of my bill. I 100% recommend this place!

Took my RS6 to autovets due to having an engine light repeatedly coming on despite being to 2no previous specialists. Sam had a look at the car and called me to explain and discuss the plan to get to the root cause of the issue. Once agreed Sam gave me constant updates on how the car was preforming as he started digging in to problem. Sam then fixed the problem and had discovered the root cause, which he fixed. I was so happy with the service and cost I got Sam to carry out a major service and health check of the vehicle. Which I will be booking back in in a couple of months for discs and pads as highlighted on the health check.

I have been using Autovets for a couple of years now for my modified Mercedes SL55 AMG (which I'm very picky about). Sam, Steve and the team are super friendly, highly knowledgeable and always go the extra mile to try and solve what can generally be quite tricky faults. Sports exhaust for Porsche 911 Sam took my pride & joy in to get the MOT and at the same time fit a Dansk sports exhaust. After searching around the area I came across Autovets and spoke to Sam about the issue on my car - out of the garages in Brighton he gave me the most confidence to take my car there to be repaired. I have a 2009 Audi A5 TFSI Quattro. There was an oil leak spotted from the back of the engine. I had talked it through with Sam and booked it in within the week. He gave me a fair, honest and very well priced quote. The leak was from the rear main crank seal, which they confirmed and resolved quickly - I received good communication from them throughout keeping me up to date as to what was happening with the car. Whilst they were changing it, they also noted a leak coming from from the coolant circuit. Sam advised honestly that it wasn't critical to change, but could get worse over time and to change it whilst they could get access to it would be a most cost effective route, which I went with after talking it through with him. The bill in the end came to £1000 cheaper than if I was to of taken it to a Audi dealership (it was one of the best quotes I'd received for this work). This work happened 2 months ago and the car has been absolutely spot on since. I will keep on using them for future work - I am an automotive engineer and have full trust in them, which is hard to come by. Many thanks to the team at Autovets.

I took my BMW to the main dealer in portslade for a diagnosis. The service was terrible! That is a whole story on its own. They wanted to take out the whole dashboard that would of cost me £1000 😳🤦🏻‍♂️ Because they could not find the knocking/rattling noise that was coming from the front of the car. Trying to keep this short 🤣. So I took it to Sam, he and his staff are amazing and very helpful. It turns out it was in need of a new steering rack. So they diagnosed it properly and fixed the problem! Which is fantastic 👍🏼. If I had left it at the main dealer they would of charged me £1000 to remove the dashboard and still would not of identified the fault. So my advice to anyone who wants some advice, take your car to Sam!

I had an issue with my emission system on Mercedes E class which was causing the engine light to show amber. I phoned Autovets and managed to get an appointment to check the car. Sam and his team were very helpful and professional. They carried out the diagnostic test while I was waiting and they informed me the exact cause of the issue with the cost. I told Sam that I need to travel to Edinburgh within next couple of days and it would be great if I could have the car fixed as soon as possible. I found this garage through Google. Had a chat with Sam, the owner. Advised him of the situation with my car and the issues. Book her in for the repairs. I was given a courtesy car whilst the works were completed. They also changed the oil and filter force at the same time as I had them in the back of the car. Collect the car next day. Fantastic! I used Autovets for the first time this month on an old but still perfectly fine BMW E46. Checked a cooling issue I had and came back with a very honest appraisal of what needed doing. Could have taken a lot of cash off me to replace a head gasket but instead offered a much more economical way to keep the car on the road considering the small amount of mileage I do in the car. I had a few problems with a recently bought Mercedes C Class AMG from a London dealer. I spoke to folk at Autovets. They were immediately helpful, listening with patience and understanding. They suggested I contacted the dealer first. The dealer's response was unpleasant and completely unhelpful (they now have 1* from me). The complete opposite to Autovets who were, to put it mildly, disappointed at the dealer's response. I was quoted a fair price, the guys checked lots of things as well as doing a diagnostic. Their labour time and charges seemed very reasonable to me. They are a professional outfit who seem to really know their business. Although that is the most important thing, they are, in addition, very polite, patient, friendly and give good helpful advice.

Used this guys for the first time for my bmw. From the initial conversation I could tell they know their stuff. Hard to find a good garage that won't mess you about. I had a major service done and I must say very professional, kept to the quoted price even when it went slightly over, I was also given a courtesy car to use at no charge. Surprised my car was given an outside wash on the day of pickup. This garage is one of the cleanest I've seen and I happen to see the staff being given training on a flat screen TV like a lecture toom. You don't see garages do this. I will definitely be using again. Very patient and took time to explain other advisories they noticed with my car. Bwm recommended oils also used. This is very important for bmw cars as it helps performance.

Excellent service I took an Audi A4 convertible in and the cost for the part and labour was originally quoted at £1500. After Sam's investigations which took a few days, he found another way of getting the part and saved me £500! Most mechanics would not have bothered and just charged the £1500. Friendly, trustworthy garage. I recently took my car to Autovets for what I was expecting to be a very expensive repair job. I mentioned concerns about mysterious engine noises and other vague things, which would have made it very easy for them to suggest unnecessary work, but they gave the car a clean bill of health. Being new to the Brighton area, I was gobsmacked by how many mechanics there are in the area. I looked at internet reviews to find a reliable place to get my car fixed and was impressed with what customers had to say about Autovets. My car needed quite a bit of work, and Autovets sent a quote by email. When I left the car, Sam explained all the work that needed to be done. Unfortunately, while doing the repair, another problem showed itself. Sam explained that a new part was needed, and he clearly explained the extra cost to me. Sam showed me how it was supposed to work and I saw that it was quite obviously worn. I'm glad it was spotted since the part is only usually visible when the water pump is replaced. Another mechanic may have overlooked the issue. This could have potentially wrecked the repairs that were just done. I don't live very far from the garage, and being in general health quite unwell, Sam very kindly gave me a lift back to my home when I dropped the car off, and again brought the car to me when it was time to have it back. I was also pleasantly surprised that the car had been cleaned. Fabulous service. I highly recommend this garage.

Excellent garage! Sam sorted out my Audi A3 engine, after what turned out to be cambelt failure (cambelt was done a year earlier in different garage), he explained everything clearly and gave me options on how we can proceed. Had my car serviced yesterday. Sam and his team discovered 2 of the tyres were in a dangerous condition which meant it wasn’t road worthy. I was very impressed by the service and repairs from Sam and his team. A gearbox warning light appeared and the autobox put itself into neutral on my BMW 1-Series. I looked for a specialist and was not disappointed. Sam gave me a decent courtesy car to keep me on the road and diagnosed the fault quickly. Sadly for me the repair required a gearbox rebuild; Sam completely understood the problem and explained it to me very clearly. I had the courtesy car for the whole time the repairs took, which gave me peace of mind. When the repairs were completed my car was beautifully valeted inside and out and the bill was significantly less than the price originally estimated. Based on this experience I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sam and Autovets - and I would use them again in the future.

I Took my Volvo C30 Here after reading the reviews online and have to say I can see why they have so many 5 star reviews. I was greeted by Sam who gave me a very competitive quote for a service, MOT and brake bleed. They had a loan car for me to borrow which made my life a lot easier. Been to Autovets a couple of times recently. Once to have a Tyre repaired which was a great deal cheaper than buying a new one and last week I had my first service done here on my Jeep Renegade. I was pleasantly surprised to find out, you don't need to take a car that's still under warranty, to an approved dealer. The warranty is still valid when serviced at Autovets. So, that too was very much cheaper than going to a Jeep garage. It was all done extremely quickly and a lovely free valet afterwards. Well done Sam & Team :) Will definitely be back when I need any more car repairs or services etc.

Sam is great. This garage take proper time to diagnose a fault, check whether this really is the the issue and test properly before returning the car. I was quoted a price for a big piece of work but when the garage did their careful diagnostics I was so happy to find it could be remedied much more cheaply. This never would have happened at other garages who can be quick to take your money whether the work is needed or not. Very very pleased.

Excellent service, probably the best mechanics I've given work to. Performed a diagnostic on my Nissan 350z on a misfiring cylinder causing emissions issues, fixed the problem, ran an MOT and passed with no additional work needed. Gave some guidance on MOT advisories. I was let down by another local mechanic and in a way I'm glad I was. Very friendly, approachable, reasonably priced and had no issues with my night-shift working pattern, and the mechanics have a genuine enthusiasm for cars. Really great experience using Autovets, my car was struggling to start in the cold and causing me all sorts of problems to get to work etc. Autovets were quick to call back after I enquired and quickly recognised the fault without even seeing the car. Once they got the car, their diagnosis was confirmed and they had it all repaired in a day. The repair in total cost ~£400 which may sound like a lot but I think it was worth it, especially when factoring in the price of parts and that most garages charge a lot for labour as well. My car has been fine since, all in all Happy with the fix and would use Autovets again.

I’ve used auto vets in the past for a few jobs my normal mechanic said we’re too difficult for him and was always impressed with the service they offered, so when it came to giving my new car it’s first mot and first proper service since I purchased the car auto vets sprang to mind. I am so glad I took the car to them, from start to finish they offered a very friendly service with clear explanations as to what needs doing and why. I would highly recommend anyone gives them a try, they won’t disappoint you. At several points they could have easily added on more jobs to the service I was having increasing the overall price but they didn’t and they were very honest as to why. My BMW had a wiper issue which would not park properly and had not worked for months. Having taken my car to three different mechanics around Brighton and spending hundreds of pounds without them being able to fix the issue I was advised I would have to take it to BMW in the hope of getting it fixed. Hadn't used these guys before, but I was really impressed. Our Qashqai had been gradually worsening over the years, which I thought was just age. Sam explained that the issues were because the basic services it had been receiving hadn't been complying with the manufacturers recommendations. To drive, it now feels like when we bought it five years ago, and we're saving a bit on fuel too. Everything was clearly explained up front and in a transparent way - including the full itemised list of what the mechanic would be checking and replacing. All costs were clearly justified. When a seized bolt which required more man hours presented an issue, Sam called to ask if we wanted to proceed rather than just billing us extra, and then gave us a discount at the end. I was given a choice of courtesy cars - we needed an automatic and they had one, which was very handy. What impressed me most were the values of the company. They work to a high standard, to maintain the car in the way that the designers intended. I'm sure the Manager's degree in motorsport engineering plays a part in that, which isn't found in your average garage. We'll definitely be back - it's our family car, but if I had something more on the luxury end, or a classic I wanted treating well, I would definitely take it here.

I recently had real difficulty trying to get the rear seats of my Ford Galaxy out. I literally was almost in tears. I called Autovets the following morning to see if they could help and they said to bring it in to look at. Sam was incredible! We figured out why they wouldn't come out. There is a red strap that is usually threaded around a lever and the frame of the rear legs of the seat. Somehow it was only threaded around the frame and not the lever, so it was not releasing the seat. Sam rethreaded them and showed me how to remove them and also how to put them back in! There isn't a single video on YouTube to show you this, so he let me film him so that I can put it online for others who might be having difficulty. Since then, I have been taking my seats out and putting them back in with ease and joy! Thank you Sam, for sparking joy for me with my car seats! You are a gem. He also didn't even charge me for it. Very generous and incredibly kind!

I'm normally quite sceptical with taking my car to mechanics purely because of their stereotypical reputation of ripping people off and past experiences. I got a call back from them later saying they were unable to find anything wrong with the car and that they didn't want to just replace random parts based on a whim. I pulled in purely to inspect the tyre and attempted to use a pump but an Auto Vets member of staff noticed me and attentively came over to offer support. I'm into my cars and I find it a real challenge to find someone I can trust to take proper care of them. I read the reviews here and thought I'd give Autovets a chance, even tho the logo on their hire cars has always made me laugh... First me old Mercedes C-Class failed its MOT on a brake system fault. Other garages I spoke to didn't have the right diagnostic eqpt but Autovets said they could sort it. They did. No fuss or bother and I even had the joy of driving one of their cars with the dodgy puma on the side for a day - sweet, sweet joy. Then onto my Z4 coupe. Hadn't felt right since I bought it and I got talking with Sam when I picked the Merc. up. Turns out they have the technology to do the proper 4 wheel geometry set up so I booked it in. Later that day Sam called me to let me know the score - he'd checked all the bushes for play and they were fine but found some of the wheel angles were way out. Here he went beyond the call and even loosened the subframe on its mounts to get the very best alignment he could. I could tell from talking to Sam that he is into what he does and it turns out he is a qualified racing engineer - who knew? Sam's enthusiasm and knowledge shone through and I was looking forward to getting the coupe back to see how it drove. When I turned up Sam talked me through all he'd done and it all made sense - they even washed it! Driving home it felt sooo much better - no longer fighting me, a lot less twitchy and less prone to following every camber it could find. Result. In short I can recommend Autovets wholeheartedly, particularly if you have a performance car you're a bit fussy with. And you might even get to drive a courtesy car with a frisky leopard on the side. What more could you want?

I had a problem with my Audi a5, and took it to several garages around brighton all telling me something different that is wrong to he vehical and costly. Absolutely Brilliant, friendly service at a cracking price. Nothing is ever too much trouble for these guys. Great communication and advice from Sam, everything explained in fine detail even if you don't understand a single technical word, whilst listening and nodding sagely. I've presented them with some truly awful, hideous vehicles over the years -some of which resemble the aftermath of a demolition derby, and not once have they ever been defeated by the challenges nor attempted to bolt the front door and display the 'closed' sign upon my arrival on the forecourt. Always get my MOTs and tyre changes done here too, and mostly on a 'while you wait' basis. Really fast and efficient service, and always kept up to date with progress. Sam is always full of good ideas and occasionally unconventional methods to address a problem and always offers suggestions about ways to fix something in the fastest and most cost-effective way. The icing on the cake is that Neil the receptionist will keep you hugely entertained while you wait, with his heart-warming personal recollections from WW2. Brilliant!

MY Audi A4 TFSI Quattro (Model type B8/engine type EA888) was showing issues starting with the timing chain. At 105, 000 miles this was 5000 short of the Audi recommended timing chain interval of 110,000 miles. Turned out the timing chain had jumped two teeth owing to a failed timing chain tensioner. Car still ran but like a bag of nails with overreving and laggy acceleration. For A4s built between 2008 - 2011 this is a common problem. Between Brighton Audi and Pfeiffers garage, when i asked them to check engine starting issues a month prior, they failed to look at the mechanics (e.g. Crank turning over) and just looked at starter motor /alternator giving me the green light. Autovets took my A4 in and turned around the timing chain repair in just under 3 days, with 1 day for parts order. Sam took the time to explain the investigation work and required repair over the phone, patiently taking my daily calls for updates (!). With the front end off I agreed with Sam to replace the auxiliary belt as well as a preventative measure to save money in future taking off the front end. As a pedantic Audi enthusiast, very happy with the result - car is driving like new. At £1100 all in (labour and parts excluding auxiliary belt part cost) this trumps the 700 quoted by Audi just to investigate the timing chain issue. IMPORTANT: existing AUDI 2.0 TFSI owners out of warranty period take note: If you wait for the recommended 110.00 mile timing chain change interval, your timing chain tensioner and /or chain may fail and in addition to the £1k chain repair you might be looking at bent valaves /damaged positions / catastrophic cylinder damage which is an engine rebuild of several £k.

My Range Rover evoque went in for a break light that was out on one side it turned out there was a problem with the module. I was hoping to stay away from main dealerships because there are ridiculously expensive. I found Autovets online and, after reading through the website I thought I’d give them a go.
