Fantastic service, went in for brake lights and new wiper blades. They replaced 3/4 bulbs for no extra charge and did a full 10 point check. Entire thing cost about £30 and now feel comfortable for MOT! Highly recommended.

Efficient, friendly and quick. I booked a slot online for an air con diagnostic check as mine had stopped working. The slot was the next morning so there was no long wait to schedule it in. They checked with me in advance if I would want a regas and informed me of the price. I dropped the car off at the appropriate time and collected it a couple of hours later. Smooth process. Air con works again. I will be using them again for service as it was painless and good value.

Pleasantly Surprised. I had an interim service , oil change and filter. Upon completion and collection i was given the wear and tear report to which i found highly accurate, as i know exactly whats been changed in the last 12 months. I always use Halfords for MOT, general checks of the car, and something that does not require specialist work for my car. I am very happy with their service. The only problem is that they don't have a waiting room, and this is difficult for me, because I have no means to get back to work while they are dealing with the car.

The advice that was given a year ago impressed me so much that I will continue to visit rather than pay over the odds, which I had been doing at my motor’s originally authorised dealerships, who just seemed to be there to pump me dry of money, whereas the Halfords lads treated me like an equal, and gave me honest, down to earth advice which I truly appreciated. I don't understand the reason for setting a time since this place never follows schedules. Every time I went to this place I always had to wait more than 4 hours to get my car back. A tip is always to schedule at the last available time that the probability of you waiting less than 2 hours to get your car back, besides the delay, the service is always good.

Very efficient and friendly service - went above and beyond to get the MOT complete, without further charge as they had to fix a broken windscreen washer hose - small fix but still undertaken without cost to ensure the MOT was issued.

Amazing experiences at Halfords Autocentre Brighton. I had booked in to have 2 x 150% headlight bulbs fixed. They didn't have them in stock but the man on the desk sorted it out - went out and bought them, had them installed and they also balanced my lights as a courtesy for no extra charge. A great experience. I went in for 4 new tyres and with their free brake check, they needed replacing. Fortunately this wasn't a surprise as I already had a notification they were close at the last Service. However I decided to use Halfords to replace them. Brakes for Life is definitely a great offer too, which is transferable to future car purchases. The staff were friendly, informative and efficient. Will definitely use again.

I was nearly only 2 stars but fortunately the proper reception man came back to sort out a fast retest after my car initially failed its MOT. I had my own garage man do the spring repair the same day as my cars MOT failure but then when I rang to ask if I could bring it in for a retest I was told I needed to book again and that it would not be till 2 days after my MOT ran out (i.e.5days later)! . Only when I rang back on my mechanics advice I was told that I could bring my car in and leave it at Halfords and it may be done in the next few days but no guarantee. I took it in the next day (Saturday) and the new man on reception said he hoped my car would get retested that day and it was! So thank you to the main reception man (who also gave me a bit of empathy unlike Friday's 'fill n' reception man). and to the mechanic who fitted my car in.

I've had to go twice in the last year, 1 for the exhaust which was replaced the same day i took it in and was a good price as well and then today for a brakes check which turned out completely fine! These guys seem honest and friendly on both occasions and their work for the exhaust was complemented by Just MOTs as well. I'm a new driver so was feeling a bit nervous about putting my rather old car through its MOT. What didn't help was that the back registration plate decided to fall off half an hour before the MOT was due. I rang Halfords and the guy I spoke to said they could stick it back on prior to the test but that I might have to leave the car there all day. When I arrived I was met by a friendly guy named Ian who reassured me and said that the car would be fine to pick up in a while. I had time for breakfast in the Lanes, a quick mooch in the shops and then received a call to pick car up. I wasn't charged for the registration plate (that was now stuck on nice and firm) & had just one advisory. I will be using Halfords again!

Faultless service for MOT & general servicing, but the parking is limited and TIGHT! Plus it gets busy at peak drop-off/collection times and there's really only room for one person at the counter, so you may have to wait a few minutes in the queue. But they're very friendly, helpful and honest - not just trying to flog you expensive upgrades, etc.

Had to have my both my rear tyres replaced on my Volvo XC60. The tyres had to be ordered in and I had to pay online, which in fairness, I didn't like doing but it's understandable with the current covid 19 restrictions. Had to order the and pay for 3 days in advance, on the day I received a phone call from Nick at Brighton. He explained that my tyre delivery had been.delayed and was calling me to save me a wasted trip. I explained that I needed the tyres for the car urgently and I was a key worker etc. He was very polite and professional and said he would look into further. Received a phonecall an hour later to be told the great news,.my tyres had arrived. Took the car down.later than.planned but they fitted me in regardless. One hour later and my new tyres on and I was ready to roll. Very pleased.

I booked myself in for a free battery check knowing full well I was going to need a new battery. A kind guy (I think his name was Jack, he had ginger hair and was quite young) came over to me and sorted me out straight away. He talked me through what he was going to do and then carried out the health check on my battery. He told me I was going to need a new one, and if I was happy, they could order one in and have it within the hour. I gave the go ahead and within about half hour I received a call from the garage with a quote. I agreed and about another hour after that call, I went to pick it back up. Great service, I couldn't have asked for anything more really .

My car was suffering from squealing brakes, after going to 4 different garages which of none could determine the cause of these squealing breaks, I popped in to halford and they agreed to take the car in there and then with no appointment booked, the reception team was polite accomadating and knowlegable, The mechanic listened to the sound and instantly knew the problem. I received a phone called later saying the cars brakes had been checked cleaned and they found that there was a missing piece in the breaking system I'm pleased to say it has cured 100% of the squealing, why no other garage could find a problem I don't know. Better still the brake cleaning at halfords was done absolutely free, they also do free checks. And their work is guaranteed, I have also had my MOT done here, which was done quickly and efficiently in a friendly atmosphere . I recommend halfords and will be going back, thank you Halfords

Booked in for a tyre fitting- while it was easy to book online and the garage is located conveniently close to the station, the person checking in cars was extremely short with myself and a previous customer. I asked for the two passenger side tires to be replaced, but they put the tires on the two fronts, though they did kindly put the best of the two tires removed onto my spare wheel as requested, and the fitting was done within the hour.

Not quite as competent as might've hoped Took car in for major service and MOT at 1pm on Fri; wasn't really given a good eta when it'd be ready. Finally got a phone call at 4pm, having kicked around Brighton all afternoon, saying that they'd probably have to keep it in overnight. On Sat had phone call at 11am saying it was ready, so went to pick it up, and the engine light was still on! "Excuse me", I cried. "Oh yeah, it needs some new HT leads and we haven't got them yet". So then I had to bring it back again on Monday at 9.30am. Thinking it was a 10 minute job I was then told it might be ready by after lunch. More time kicking around Brighton... When I picked up the car all of the mechanical stuff was done, but the car's computer hadn't been reset, so it says it'll need another service in 4000 miles. I hope it doesn't... So, they're more than likely quite competent in terms of engineering, though somewhat slapdash in places and a little lacking in customer service and communication. Additional to the money for the car, they've cost me a day and a half when I could've been working. I've used other Halfords Autocentres, which are better.

they are nice people BUT they are overpriced, mot is cheap if they have deals on but any repairs are ridiculously expensive. We were quoted £210 to fix bearing in nearside rear wheel and when looking online i found at least 10 garages in Brighton that would fix same thing for between £50 -£100! Brighton Tyre and Exhaust were great and really helpful.

Wow - I went to Halfords Hove to get a poor experience, the guy didn’t seem to know anything about cars. He didn’t know nothing about people skills. shame really, it was a good place under the other manager, He didnt want any work seemed lazy to me. So I went to Brighton branch to speak with the manager called Mark I think. He said it would cost £425 to carry out the work needed under halfords, he could do the work for £220 cash.
