I first started using Arley garage around 5 years when I moved to Bishopston. Even though I now live in a different part of Bristol that is further away, I still go back as I think they are great.

I am a new customer to Arley Garage. The reception staff are friendly, efficient and honest. Despite being told I may wait a week for my car to be fixed, I was phoned the same day with the good news that my car was fixed at a tiny fraction of the cost I was expecting. I am keen to use these garage services again as their service on this occasion was flawless.

My first few experiences with Arley have been really good, to the point where I felt obliged to come here and write a review. Honesty, clarity & fair pricing have to be the most sought after traits in a motor repair business, as many people have no idea about cars & fear being taken advantage of. Arley was clear, open & honest about a number of issues across both my girlfriends polo and my work van. I had previously paid (a tough to stomach) £90 for Heritage Volkswagen in Bristol (an official VW dealership) to look at my windows which had completely stopped working. I would expect them to know VW vehicles inside out, every known issue. £90 later I was told they'd "plugged the machine in" and it did not confirm what they'd thought it might be..... that was all I got, no real investigation of the issue, no issue identified & nothing else to go on. I later took the Van to Arley Garage after my girlfriends positive experience... half hours labour at £32.40 later, I collected my van with fully functional windows again. I was told that it simply needed some corrosion cleaning out. They investigated, identified & resolved the problem honestly, openly & quickly. They also advised that despite my looking to book a service the van had probably 8000 miles left before it needed another one (stupidly I'd not checked the service manual & had allowed heritage to minor service it just 2500 miles after a major service they'd done the year before, they said nothing). For me, this level of service, honesty & transparency is simply all you can ask for in your local garage. Honest work, at a fair rate, in good time. I have no intention of taking my vehicles anywhere else in the future, which seems small but having local services you trust is a one less hassle. Big thanks.

Went to Arley after getting a rip off quote from the Seat garage on Feeder road, they only did the work that was actually required and came in at 42% of the price. And took £100 off the bill when the gearbox oil change came with components they thought they would have to buy in. Nice friendly people too 👍

I took in my car that had a strange knocking sound and they managed to diagnose and repair it very professionally, and at a fair and reasonable price. After two separate visits to Arley Garage I can honestly say this is the most professional car garage I have been. Nerina was on the front desk when I first called to book an appointment, she is very friendly and and was a pleasure to talk to. She managed to get me booked in for the following week. I dropped my car off on a Friday morning and after a few complications with gaskets I recieved a call the same afternoon letting me know my car was ready to collect. Both of the Marks who helped to fix my car were fantastic and I will not hesitate to bring my car back again the next time I have an issue. 10/0 service which was very reasonably priced. Wow. Amazing service, realised that my mot had expired and I needed my vehicle urgently. After explaining my situation Arley garage said come on down and we will fit you in which is exactly what they did and my mot was done as soon as I arrived despite the obvious very busy day with cars everywhere. This garage and it's owner Mark have been brilliant in all my years of using them but this emergency situation brought on by my poor mot planning was handled awesomely and saved my bacon. 5 stars isn't enough!!

Its all too easy for Garages to overcharge unknowledgable customers (including me) and each time ive used them ive been shocked at how good value their services are. As I've recently bought a car on my own and I don't do that very often I was quite distressed when it felt things weren't as they should be with it. When I came in and explained my situation the lady in the reception heard, saw and understood my distress and met me not only as a professional but as a person wholeheartedly. I think I appreciate that more than anything really. She made sure my car was put in for a check on that same day even though they were busy. Her kindness and professionalism as well as conversation with the mechanic made me feel very reassured. If you ask me to which garage you should go to I would say this one at anytime of day. 10/10

Can't speak highly enough of the honesty and integrity of Arley Garage. Took my car in certain that I had an issue with my clutch (sticking etc.). I left the car with the garage under the impression they would need to fit a new clutch, not feeling a diagnostic was necessary. I receive a phone call the next day stating that the mechanics had done some diagnostic checks anyway and were brilliantly honest in their assessment, letting me know the clutch had a good year's worth of usage in it left! They did not have to complete these checks and I would have happily stumped up the 400 odd quid to pay for the replacement as my mind had already been made up. I was able to pick up the car the next day and was not made to pay a penny. Just incredible service from a first rate garage.

Really helpful staff, quick to book in and happy for you to pop in to get quotes/look at stuff. Good communication and fair prices. Had a service at Ford garage and they told me I urgently need new brake pads. Took to Arley to have work done and informed me they had a lot more wear left in them. No charge and managed to get Ford to refund part of service for inaccurate service!

I googled garages in his postcode and Arley popped up told him to try them . Had a potentially nightmare vehicle scenario en route to the depths of Cornwall from Leicester: was recommended the Arley Garage and they didn't disappoint. First-time visit and I am incredibly impressed. I miscalculated my MOT expiry date and ended up needing an MOT urgently. I was recommended by a neighbour and called with little hope there would be an appointment in the next day on such short notice. Upon calling Arley garage they fit me in for an MOT THAT DAY - even though they were closing early. As if that wasn't enough the staff's telephone manner was extremely warm, professional and helpful. My MOT was conducted promptly at a reasonable price with a smile. I immediately trusted the garage (an important feat considering I am young and ignorant when it comes to car mechanics) and thankfully, I passed my MOT. I couldn't recommend Arley garage highly enough. I've recently relocated to Bristol and am so glad I've found a reliable garage.

We have been very impressed by the service at Arley Garage. Hands down the best Garage I’ve ever dealt with. We have a few cars and we take them all to this Garage and they always explain everything to me in great detail so I know exactly what needs fixing and why. Had a few MOTs gone through without any problems at all so obvsiouly not a Garage looking to make some money on fake jobs. Taken my car there recently all ready to pay for a new catalytic convertor (had a bump on the underneath and Cat light came on), and it turned out it was something much smaller and cheaper to fix! A shady Garage could easily have charged me for a catalytic convertor but these guys are just the most honest straight forward people I’ve ever dealt with. 100% recommend. They are fab. They do get busy though so always book in advance when you can :)

An honest and fair garage who will not rip you off. Forget about the too good to be true 'free' MOT offers you see advertised on those voucher websites. I've had several experiences of garages around Bristol doing them, then after they give you a 'free' MOT test, they say you need to spend a few hundred quid on needless work. I've been going to Arley Garage, on and off, for almost ten years now. The only times I didn't go there, due to these bogus MOT offers, I ended up regretting it. A top notch garage.
