Had my tyres replaced today in Halfords. Found a good price on Halfords website unbeatable by others on Pirelli tyres. After appointment everything was done on time with no problems even earlier than expected. Anthony was very helpful and provided all the information and invoices via email. Highly recommended 👌

I use Halfords Autocentre Cardiff for my MOT. I booked it in easily online and received confirmation straight away. On the day of the appointment I dropped my vehicle off, was given an approximate collection time and I was then contacted by phone to confirm the works were completed. It was actually completed earlier than expected which was even better for me. I received all information straight away via email and the staff there were helpful and polite.

Usually go here for repairs or servicing, if you would like an mot be try to book in advance as they can be quite busy. Staff are friendly. Never had a bill go over what they quoted yet and techs give good advisory notes.

This auto centre carries out MOT's but won't fit parts from main dealerships, which means if your mot fails then you have to go and get the part, then get another garage to fit the part, then return back for a mot retest. This seems like a pointless exercise to me. Why not just do it all. It did pull away from my time this week. Nice place just gave me the run around with company politics.

4 New tyres. First time i,ve used Halfords. Having searched the net for the tyres required and checked prices, Halfords were ,for the service provided the best options available. When arriving at the Cardiff tyre depot i found the staff there to be more than helpfull and efficient. tyres were changed, alignment checked, and a full Final Vehicle Health Report sent to my computor. more than impressed with the excellent service and reports received. Absolute gems. I came in on the Saturday, having had to jump start my car twice that day and with a long journey planned for the Sunday afternoon, and the folk there were absolutely fab. I got a battery ordered immediately for a reasonable price, and a phone call the following morning as soon as it arrived. They had it fitted within the hour while I was otherwise occupied, and I'm no longer concerned about leaving my vehicle out in the cold overnight. Highly recommend.

I took my Peugeot in for what I though was refit of a new Alternator, Kyle Anthony and staff were fab. They rang and said no it’s not the alternator, but you do need a new battery, but they kept it overnight to check if the battery was still draining, and it was the coil, all fitted all running well again. Andy Randall CEO, you have a great crew here in the Newport Road Depot, including “Laurel & Hardy” the nickname given to the lovely joviality of the team. Well what can I say.I had an inteim service done about a month ago and so happy with the service.Monday I had the mot done,waited only and half hour.That was fine as I had a cappuccino and it gave me some chill out time so was great.Went back at 3.30pm and guess what she passed.I am so happy with the service I was given I could do a dance,well done guys .From know on if there is any thing I need for my car I will be staying with halfords, well done guys you did a great job.Its like driving a dream.

Halfords Cardiff (Newport Road) branch is definitely an outfit you can trust. The guys give confidence that they know their stuff, they appear to take a pride in their work, and they go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with the job. I had no problems with leaky tyres or wheel imbalance after having 8 fitted to my VW Golf and Audi A6, and they took very good care of the precious alloys on my Mk3 V6 4Motion, recently refurbished. The service on the A6 was very reasonable priced, even with the upgraded oil, and everything was completed on time. They even thought to mention that I need to plan a timing belt change on the A6...... I have not exceeded the mileage, but the time interval since the last change has exceeded that recommended by Audi. I think this is good attention to detail. You will get a friendly warm welcome from the team at Halfords Cardiff (Newport Road) autocentre!

Good Evening, I just wanted to write to let you know how blown away I was with help from Anthony and the guys at Newport Road Auto centre on 20th/21st August 2020. I went in to the centre for some help and advice as my car was stuck in a failed MOT around the corner in a neighbouring garage and I didn’t feel I was being given the correct information and the guys in branch explained everything for me and bent over backwards to help me. I really appreciated all the help. I was due to be going away the day later and I was in a flap that the work wasn’t going to be carried out in time and I might have to delay leaving for our family holiday. Anthony and the guys told me to go and get my car and they promised to sort out all the relevant work needed to get my car on the road and true to their word, they did!! They were fantastic! They did everything they could and got me back on the road in readiness for our family holiday. I must admit to being a bit puzzled after my recent mot at Halfords the service was fine the staff were friendly all well so far.. Then I checked the mot certificate and the advisories from last year have vanished a bit strange as I decided not to have them remedied in the current climate there were 3 items mentioned nothing too serious but considering this was 18 months and about 10,000 miles travelled later they certainly would have worsened a bit. Apart from anything else I always assumed that the meccanics would look at the current mot. Of course I'm pleased that my car passed its mot but advisories are a useful tool giving you a insight into the current health of your vehicle and now I am puzzled 😕

My only criticism, I booked online for a service and mot with a morning timeslot expecting the work to start then. I had assumed that the work would take no more than two hours, assuming no issues with the car, but upon arrival at the garage at the appointed time I was then told that the work wouldn't start immediately and that I wouldn't be able to collect the car for at least 4 hours! That should have been made clear at the time of booking online.

Using this Halfords Garage for over three years, always on time, they never let me down, as work is always done as promised, with the exact timeframe, always get precise quote, and never non expected surprise. Also, this garage being open on a weekend, gives a massive benefit for those with a commutable jobs, as not always can take a day off just to fix the car. Halfords Newport Road went above and beyond for me today. I only popped in as I had an error on my dashboard, they confirmed it was my coolant that was low and I also needed a bulb changing. They were really helpful and sorted it straight away for me! Couldn’t be happier with the service!

Only issue I had was for my old car when the MOT was due, I would receive offers via email for discounted MOT......would like to see more of those throughout the year. Raised to 3* due to full refund of £289.00 received. Took my car here for MOT and Major service. When I drove some miles away it started to rain when I discovered OIL droplets on the windscreen. Opened bonnet to find oil had been spilt with a crude attempt to clean it up. OIL on wiper arms and the black area at btm of windscreen. An obliging garage gave me hot soapy water to wash it off. Took me 15minutes to get it off before I could continue my journey.

This is the 2nd time I've visited and only thing for me as some constructive feedback is I felt the service book should always be signed and dated and a call to run through minor works we should be advised asap, as I could have said I wanted them done straight away with you , that was pointed out on MOT certificate.the message that was left on answer machine was to say we can pick up car, as passed MOT no mention of work. Also, the windscreen wipers were not replaced, as I requested this to be done at time I dropped off. Booked for a free clutch check because my gearstick was very stiff. Managed to book it for the next day at a half 8. They rung me to inform me that although they have taken pivots etc off it hadn't solved the problem so suggested another garage that could fix the gearbox as opposed to replacing the whole thing. Returned to pick up my car and didn't pay a penny. Drove the car home and by the time I got home the gearstick was back to how it was, smoothly and easily changing gear. The next day it was even better so whatever they did actually worked. Very helpful and friendly staff, will definitely return.

NR Halfords Autocentre have been prompt, honest and friendly every time I have used them. When booking online I made the appointment for 08:00 and was informed by email and online to turn up 15mins before the booking time, all this was very straight forward and easy to use. I turned up at the depot at 07:40, the depot opened at 08:00, I spoke to the person at the desk (I assumed this was the manager as no other person was onsite) why did I need to turn up 15 mins early when your not open, I was then advised they do not start until 08:30. Unless this was in very very small print on the website or email there was no mention of this, which is not good enough. When are companies going to realise that customers have busy lives and put in systems and processes that work with customers and not just think how we can squeeze s many customers in certain time slots. Another business run by accountants.
