My wife's 520d had a couple of issues that neither the main dealer or another specialist managed to fix, however it was no problem for Steve and the team at G-tech to sort while the car was having a service . Bmw was quoting £866 for a service with brake fluid change. After reading G-techs excellent reviews I thought I'd give them a call for a quote. Got my BMW's major service done here - the first one after I bought it, and I was skeptical. But wasn't disappointed at all. Very friendly people who know their stuff. Dropped off the keys with Steve & Steve and didnt have to worry about anything at all. Mine has an EGR fault (common with the 3 series) and they have provided practical and cost-effective solutions forward, with no pressure. Imty (or Imtiaz) adds a further warmth to the already good customer experience and he's got you for any ECU remap needs. Will be visiting them again soon to hopefully smoothen the car to an out-of-showroom experience and sort the EGR faults out. Definitely would recommend them!

Took my Mercedes CLA in for a stage 1 remap after hearing my Sister took her BMW 435D in for a remap. Staff were really friendly and the job was done in less that a few hours! car runs like a dream! I can definitley feel the difference from when it wasn't remapped. Will be using G Tech again for our car mods! cheers guys!

We had a recall from BMW for a replacement battery lead, took it to Stratstone BMW Derby. Immediately after collecting the car, the indicators were clicking rapidly, as they do when a bulb is blown. We assumed it to be a dodgy bulb and as the car was due its MOT in a couple of weeks, we would let the Garage swap the bulbs as part of the MOT. We explained the issue to the Garage who said they would check it out and replace the bulbs if need be. The car failed the MOT and the Garage advised that the issue was far more serious than just a dodgy bulb, their analysis equipment indicated 9CD3 Control unit Incorrect coding, and they advised that this is likely something that occurred at Stratstone BMW when they were re-connecting the battery or coding thereafter and to call them to sort it out. When I eventually got through to Stratstone BMW they advised that it wouldn’t be related as they only undertook physical work, but could book the car in for investigation at a cost of £120, which was payable unless they found that it was them at fault, but that based on the issue advised, this is unlikely. The MOT Garage advised us to take the car to an impartial/unbiased BMW specialist called G-tech Motor Works. I Called G-tech and they said they could book me in the very next day, I asked if there was any chance of same day, to which they said bring it straight down and they would fit it in for us. Within 2 hours they had completed the detailed investigation and found that the FRM Module suffered a short circuit at 130617 miles. They suggested it most likely occurred as a result of the recall work on the battery at Stratsone BMW & that I ask Stratstone for the mileage recorded to see if it was close. Stratstone BMW advised the mileage recorded was 130613, so I tried to discuss the issue with the Customer Service Manager. Three times I called and was advised that the Customer Service Manager would call me back, no calls were received on the day. I called back the next day to be advised that Customer Service Manager was not in today, so explained the issue again for the fourth time and was promised that the deputy would call me back before mid-day. Again this did not happen, zero returned calls from anyone at Stratstone BMW. I called G-tech Motor Works again and asked if it was something they could fix, they quoted me within a few minutes, I asked them to proceed. G-tech Motor Works ordered the replacement part and had the car fixed within 2 working days.

Had my M2 in with these guys for the first time for a general health check and MOT and the service was top class; friendly and professional and they've done a thorough job of checking over the car. One of the exhaust tip clamps has rusted through, and they were able to source a replacement clamp without needing to buy the tip and clamp together as originally advised by BMW. I'm definitely going to be using G-Tech for all my servicing and maintenance needs in future, and would recommend anyone else looking for a German car specialist in Derby to pay them a visit.

Originally took my rs6 v10 with suspension rattle fearing the worse with the drc. These guys quickly ruled that out diagnosed and fixed the issue that was causing the noise in no time. Also advised rear brake disc were not in great condition so changed them too. Only been here the once but I’ve no problem in recommending them and will now be bringing my car back here for future services etc. Really know their stuff Plus the owner also owns an rs6 so I could chat for hours with him! 5/5 from me.

Amazing garage! After taking my golf to 2 other garages to be told everything was fine decided to give them a try. Had a Major service on my Mercedes at G-tech a few weeks ago. It has always been serviced at a dealership but after getting a quote which was well beyond my budget, I spoke to the guys at G-tech. My 1st phone call to them made Me feel very re-assured that my car would be looked after as equally as it would be at the dealership and they knew exactly what kind of service I required. When I dropped my Car off it, I was dealt with efficiently and I felt like I'd always been a customer there with how friendly they were. My major service and MoT were done in just over 24hours and was even treated to my Car being given a nice Wash & Valet (shame it rained as soon as I picked it up 🤣). Took my BMW Z4 to G-Tech to have new rear break backing plates done and new break shoes fitted and the hand break adjusted. The work carried out by the guys at G-Tech was first class all the way and I couldn't be happier. My car couldn't feel any better on the road now and drives and more importantly stops superbly. Took my 2008 M3 to these guys the other day for a rod bearing change. The service is out of this world, they kept me informed all the way through the work, inspected the car for other issues, they picked up on a couple of things I was aware of concerning the steering rack and also things I wasn't aware of, like uneven tyre wear and alignment. The M technician showed me pictures of the various stages of the repair and showed me the the old engine mounts which were shot to pieces. Don't take your car anywhere else, these guys know everything and tell you everything you need to know, the service experience is second to none, nice guys who go the extra mile and just professional honest service. That M3 is going nowhere else from now on.

Took my Golf GTI down to have the timing chain replaced, the work was done very quick to a very high standard, other issues that were found whilst doing the work were also resolved. Matt rang me everyday to keep me updated on what was going on and where they was at with the repairs. Once the car was finished, I couldn't get down to collect the car due to conflicting work hours so they drove the car over to my place of work in Nottingham to drop it off to me. If you're looking for a specialist who is willing to go the extra mile then look no further than the team at G-TECH. I had a major headache when I found out the timing chains needed changing on my audi q7 4.2 tdi s-line quattro,especially when I took it to the main audi dealership in derby,I could have purchased a new engine for what they quoted me to do the repair. So I contacted G-TECH and they were happy to take on this major job(no other specialist I contacted would entertain it). Matt and Steve talked me through the process and left me in no doubt that my car was in capable hands,especially when they quoted me a fraction of the main dealer. I live over 20 miles away, yes there are closer and cheaper garages, but when it comes to trusting your pride and joy I wouldn't go anywhere else. Best in the business. We had a broken timing chain on a BMW 116d sport with possible engine damage. After speaking to them over the phone we decided to let them carry out the work. Dropped off my daughter's 1 series for service. They checked what needed to done using the software on the key and called with a price before carrying out any work. They also adjusted a couple of things without charge. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to German cars. They even cleaned the car afterwards. I have been using the main dealers for my Audi TT for years. I was recommended to use Gtech motorworks after they took care of my Father in-laws Porsche Panamera. I called Gtech and booked my vehicle in for a major service and inspection. On arrival I was greeted by their wonderful receptionist who was very polite and welcoming. When I went to collect my vehicle to my surprise it was gleaming and clean they even washed and vacuumed it just like main dealers, Overall I am very pleased with this place and their work, I will definitely be using Gtech from now on. I recently purchased a Golf R. I immediately had a problem with changing gears, I took it back to the main dealers where I purchased it from to be told that the gear change was normal for the car. This happened twice. I took it round to G-Tech and within a 5 minute test drive the 2 very knowledge mechanics diagnosed the car with a clutch problem. They wrote a detailed report on the car and eventually the dealers admitted the clutch had a problem and it was replaced. Without G-Tech I don't think I would have got anywhere with the dealers. Quite randomly found this place on the internet after looking for something a bit more ‘special’ than the average round the corner garage. Straight away from turning up I knew I’d found a great place - their attitude is spot on; very knowledgable about the cars they specialise in - knew the common things to look for and seemed very genuine. Had a right fright and these guys sorted my car out brilliantly, and lent me a courtesy car for a small fee in a matter of an hour calling! Had a leak which turned out to be a water pump leaking and had sprayed and caused an issue with my cam belt, these guys fixed it in less than a day, cleaned my car and sent me the video of my car and all the info I need to take ahead to the warranty as seems it is a vw fault. I could not thank these guys enough as have made something stressful a lot easier and aided me to continue my job with a car in place. The price reflects the job so dont let that put you off, genuine parts used and even show you the parts that were wrong. Full health check was done and everything else on my car is cool, how many places do you know that are that honest and dont make up odd issues to make money!? I couldnt thank Imti and Mat enough for all their help and compassion with this dilema and have stopped this issue from becoming one that could have ruined my engine! Amazing service, recommend very highly and will defo be back for a couple of other jobs I have requested to be completed. Thanks guys :-)

After being told by BMW my car wasn't covered under the recall for EGR Cooler faults and me losing coolant, I booked into G-Tech for what I assumed to be 1000+ repair bill. Gtech organised a loan car, I went to drop my car off and they did a scan on my car, told me it was covered under recall and gave me proof. I called bmw again and they said it wasn't, so I went in and handed them the evidence. Car is now being collected Thursday. Most places I'd expect to have overlooked this and fleece me £1000, but Gtech charged me nothing - to quote the guy on the desk "we're here to look after you" - I've used gtech for servicing after getting poor service from Main dealers, needless to say, i will continue to... It's just a shame they couldn't carry out the work on behalf of BMW - clearly they're more trustworthy. 10/10 for customer service here guys.
