Always get a great reliable service at Halfords Wyvern Way Derby, technicians are very knowledgeable and go extra mile to look after your car. They perform some extra car checks (on top of the one you requested) and let you know the additional things that need to be looked at. I was pleased with the work carried out at Halfords Autocentre, Derby, (Battery check and replacement and complimentary basic car health check). However, the work took much longer than I expected, bearing in mind that I had previously booked a time slot with the Halfords Customer Service Centre helpline the day before. This was for 08:30am on the day. I therefore expected the work to be carried out at or around this time, but it was not until 10:43am that I received a call to say that the battery had been checked and needed replacing. It was another hour before I was able to collect the car. I accept that there may have been work being carried out for other customers on the day, but I was not given any indication of this or how long my work would take. What is the point of booking a specific time slot if this is not going to be adhered to?

Much as I'd like to give a 4 star rating because the staff were all friendly and the price was acceptable, I couldn't because despite having an appointment for 2 Tyres to be fitted, it took a massive 90 minutes to do. This is because the dedicated fitter was in another tyre job first. How does that work? I wouldn't mind if they were behind but this was 9:30am. Not really acceptable. Still I had a nice walk along the river to pass the time.

(This review is for Halfords Doncaster for some reason it keeps bringing up Derby) Time scale of getting the car into the garage was really quick, could of had it in the same day but unfortunately was working so booked it in for the day after. Really quick turn around on the car being dropped off, the work undertaken and the car being able to be picked up. Used Halfords yesterday for full manufacturer's equivalent annual service. The were an absolute pleasure to deal with. The service used genuine manufacturer's parts and included more checks that the manufacturer's schedule. All significantly cheaper than main dealer prices. Excellent!

Misses diagnose of battery said it was dead and replaced it with a new one even after saying I didn’t want it fitted because I could get one myself half the price, when I went to change the battery the one already in the car was healthy when check through the sight glass so didn’t need a new one and was working fine

Have used Halfords for basic interim servicing, oil change, head light bulbs etc, free breaks check is really good, pay only once for break pads and then you can replace free every time for the life time of the vehicle even if you sell it, needed front disks this time fitted Pagid parts, disks, pads and sensors, I was willing to pay for upgrading the pads to ceramics however I was informed that Halfords would not do this under there free breaks for ever, which left me slightly disappointed. So disks, pads, sensors and an oil change came to just £356.21 which I thought was reasonable, will use Halfords again.

Had a really good experience taking my car there for its MOT. It failed first time on its emissions by 0.002 and the manager was really honest with me that they weren’t sure what it was but that I could drive the car away and think about it. No pressure to have works done there. Took it back for a retest and to get spark plugs done as this was supposed to help, but car passed the emissions straight away this time and so they did not do the spark plugs saving me a lot of money. I found them to be very honest which I’ve found to be rare in garages.

My car needed some works and they were able to get the part and do the repairs the same day. The staff were very helpfull and knowledgeable about what repairs when the cam belt broke, after being recovered to the wyvern centre the staff helped to put the car into a service bay. After stripping down the engine. They contacted me and told me what had to be done and an approx cost, which I thought was very reasonable considering what needed to be done. As soon as the repairs were complete I was contacted and arrangments made for me to collect the vehicle. I was made aware of an easy payment scheme, which I took advantage of, the car behaves better than before. Thanks to the staff at wyvern centre.
