I’ve taken my car there to replace the timing belt and water pump, the work was carried out to a very high standard and in a very efficient timely manner. I bought a Toyota hybrid from an approved car dealer and noticed a noise coming from the brakes. The dealer told me the noise was normal, but I wasn't convinced about it. I took the car to Powerhouse on a Saturday morning for a second opinion. I didn't make any appointment, I just showed up! Despite of being alone and very busy, Brian stopped his work to check the car and gave me a very technical and rational explanation for the reasons of the noise, something that the approved Toyota car dealer couldn't give me. Brian mentioned to me that the car is fine, despite the noise and that it's safe to drive. I'm really pleased with the quality time Brian spent on my car and am now assured it's OK to drive. And he didn't charge me a penny! :) I will go back to him for the MOT and any services that will be required in the future.

I'd been having problems with my Toyota Starlet Glanza V for months which gradually got worse. Dropping in power and eventually cutting out at junctions. It then got to the point where I was having difficulty starting her up. My garage told me it was time to give up on her, they couldn't find a problem, 'she's an old car....blah blah.' Brian at Powerhouse was recommended to me. I took her in and he spent time, care and attention getting her right. Found the problem. I can't recommend highly enough and I will be using Powerhouse in the future. I think Brian can be described as 'the engine whisperer.' Thanks Brian!

Great staff! Took my Bandit 600s in for an MOT. I was given loads of great advice to get me to my next MOT, shiny side up. Had a great chat and the waiting room is super comfortable, the trothy wall and TV was super reassuring for my anxiety. I found Powerhouse Ltd through Google after searching months for a garage that specialized in Toyota's. I've been having a few minor issues with noise that I thought I needed checking out on my GT86, it turned out everything was fine and ran well. Blown away by the amazing work done by Brian and the team at powerhouse in fixing what felt like the unfixable problem with my 97 Toyota MR2. Brian was always clear and extremely knowledgeable when talking to me about every step taken for diagnostic and repair for what ended up being a faulty fuel pump. All the work and a full set of tyres was all sold at a very fair price. Amazing to see a garage who care so much about keeping japanese classics on the road. I needed a second opinion after my local garage told me my corolla would need to have its engine removed in order to carry out their diagnosed repairs. A twenty minute phone conversation with Brian convinced me it was worth making the 50 mile round trip to Powerhouse, my car was back on the road within a couple of days having had a new water pump fitted...which didn't require an engine removal. I can't recommend this garage enough, punctual and good value service.

Highly recommend! When the exhaust fell off my Lexus I was expecting a hefty bill. The part would have been expensive and hard to get hold of because it's a rare model (I know because I tried various places), but Powerhouse did a really good welding job that is secure and has saved me a fortune.I hate to think what it would have cost me at the main dealer. I have a 1993 Toyota mr2 which was failing it’s mot on emissions only. The problem was being described as it could be many things air leak here or there gasket leak. Hole in exhaust So was looking like it was going to be a costly and time consuming job and I felt it would be the last item on the list that would fix it So I was deciding should I sell the car as an mot failure or attempt to find some where that would help I was recommended to powerhouse and decided to phone. From that phone call I decided immediately to take the car there was left feeling confident that it wasnt going to be a tough costly job My confidence was increased when I arrived and spoke to Brian who clearly must have been a car in his past life whilst the vehicle was still on the ground and having a look underneath he identified the possible problem which in fact turned out to be the problem With a new catalytic converter and oxygen sensor the car is now running better than it ever has in the 11 years I’ve owned it He was clear on what was wrong why it was wrong what they fitted which was discussed along the way before it was fitted. Shown the offending items which I know was off my car. Clearly old school and there is a reason they have excellent reviews Really nice people that actually do a great job. First class service, second time we have used Brian and his team. We've been trying to source a water leak on my Nissan Elgrand for months, Brian was determined to sort this for us and went the extra mile to have him back to us for Christmas. Can't recommend highly enough, I won't be trusting my boy with anyone else.

I had bought a tail tidy I thought I'd throw in for mechanics over at powerhouse to fit while they were sorting out an issue with my clutch, and as it turned out the tail tidy had wires made too short and a bracket wasn't the right size for the motorbike it was advertised for, but Brian went above and beyond, making the tail tidy and indicators fit and operate perfectly.. He also repaired a puncture in my tyre for free which I probably would've looked at spending at least £20 to £30 for at a tyre repair shop. The owner is very experienced in both on cars and motorbikes, very friendly and it's clear that he genuinely cares for his customers satisfaction. From all the garages that I've been to, I'd definitely recommend Powerhouse the most.

First time vehicle/moped owner who's not had to deal with faults/repairs before now. Couldn't of come at a worse time and didn't have the faintest idea where to look. Then I came across Powerhouse and all my worries disappeared. Excellent and patient customer service, particularly when I'm asking daft questions, great value for money and regular updates on repairs so your always in the know. Basically all the stress of being without your vehicle and having to sort out repairs is completely taken away when you go to Powerhouse. Special mention to Brian for going the extra mile with issues I wouldn't of even known where to start looking to sort out. If you're a first timer vehicle/motorbike owner, don't look anywhere else except Powerhouse!

They saved my trip to the peak district! I planned a week end of nice twisties around the peak district on my motorbike. Shortly after I left home (Around Gatwick) I realized I forgot to put the oil filler cap back. I had oil all over my right leg, engine and tyre. Plugged the hole with a rug and drove all th way to Derby with the aim of finding a more permanent solution the day after. In the morning I checked how much oil I left along the road and it was quite a lot. I looked for a mechanic and found Powerhouse. Went there and they literally saved my day: topped up the engine oil and even crafted a new oil filler cap for my motorbike. The week end is saved, I can enjoy the roads without the constant fear of the engine seizing. A godsent!. Thanks a million!

Brian has done an amazing job fixing all my problems on my Vauxall Corsa! He's so genuine and I can honestly say hes very trustworthy (he called to say he didn't need to order another part for my brakes) and reliable. Our first visit. Appeared friendly and professional. Sorted out our windscreen washer issues efficiently enough. Would use again based in this our first experience. They have lengthy back experience working on Japanese marque cars which attracted us to them when seeking a repairer. Used non OEM parts and the price was substantially less than all local distributors. ( Distributor prices for parts were ridiculous to the point of rip-off. This led us into the decision to seek a local alternative reliable facility in the first place.

I called them at 10am, by half past 10 they had located the exact alternator needed and with our battery being completely dead they came and towed the car to site. By 12 PM the car had been repaired. It is extremely rare these days to find a business, let alone a garage that has the skill, professionalisms and most importantly...honesty to ensure a customer returns time and time again. Myself, my father and both of my daughters have all taken our vehicle issues to Brain and his team over the past couple of years. This is an absolutely amazing garage! I took my Honda CRV to Powerhouse when the DPF warning light came on and I was in a bit of a panic. They accommodated me at very short notice and did a parked DPF regeneration for the car while I waited, having a lovely chat with Brian during the process and to crown it all, he wouldn't even charge me for this. Great place, finally found somewhere who wants to get problems fixed and not just get your money. Had problems with my van for a few weeks, low power, low fuel pressure etc. Everywhere I spoke to was straight to the big bucks, fuel pumps, injectors. Spoke to Brian and he assured me he’d get to the bottom of it but didn’t think it was any of the things the other garages suggested. Dropped the van off with him the next day and he methodically worked through the issues starting with the cheap stuff first and working his way through the problems and updating me on the way. Turned out to be a couple of knackered glow plugs and a dirty EGR valve. Potentially saved me £1,000’s on a new fuel pump and injectors that I didn’t need and wouldn’t have fixed the problem. 5*’S isn’t enough for this guy, top bloke.

Had a supposed handbrake, vehicle stability control issue on a 2009 Avensis. took it to Toyota Derby who wrongly diagnosed the problem and wanted £1600 to fit a part it turned out I didn't need. Long story short, I took the car to Powerhouse on a recommendation from a workmate, and these guys correctly diagnosed the issue and fixed it. They have just saved me £1200. Brilliant team, can't recommend or thank them enough. Both my cars will now be going to Powerhouse, outstanding service.

I had a very trusty 2008 Toyota Verso bought from new and although it had clocked up over 245000 miles it ran well without any major issues since I bought it. One day the car car drove sluggish and I took it to Toyota who said it might be the fuel pump or something else but would cost over £500 for an initial inspection! My neighbour suggested taking it to KAM garages but that proved worse as I drove the car there but ended up getting it back on a recovery truck because they said it could not be fixed so I should scrap it! By chance the recovery guys from Shaks A1 Recovery services, suggested that I take my car to Powerhouse garage. So with nothing lose I had the Shaks A1 Recovery take it to Powerhouse. I was told that nothing could be certain other than them taking a look at the problem. A couple days later I got a call from Powerhouse to come and collect my car as they got it working and at less than half the price Toyota was charging! I was gobsmacked and extremely happy at what Brian and his team had managed achieve, a miracle in my view! We now have all our 3 cars serviced and taken care of at Powerhouse and trust no one else. My Toyota Verso has a new very happy owner, My Sister!. Brian and his team are excellent in every way and extremely knowledgeable on all makes of cars. I moved to Derby wary of finding a good , honest and trustworthy garage and I have been so fortunate to have found Brian and his team at Powerhouse. A few years ago i bought a Mk2 Corolla GTI as a project. When i first bought it the car barely made it home as the engine was badly misfiring. Been using Brian and the team ever since I went to him over 10 years ago with a really obscure fault on an MR2. Not only did he rectify it really quickly but kept me informed throughout. His encyclopaedic knowledge of all things Toyota (Especially MR2s and GT-FOURs) is backed up with similar expertise in other marques, and as for bikes- let's just say his enthusiasm for all things two-wheeled (and even three, being pretty damned competitive on an F2 sidecar) is quite evident! I can honestly say that I wouldn't want anyone else doing my MOTs. Quick turnaround, reasonable prices and (if you ask nicely) a cup of tea while you're waiting- you really can't go wrong!
