I try to buy spare parts for my defender from matings, anyway I rang them to say I’d bought the heater controller that fits into dash and the part had failed so when I tried to order a new one the guy on the phone said hold on your only bought that from us about 18 months ago and he said it shouldn’t have failed so quickly I’ll look into it for you, today a new replacement part arrive zero cost! Very very impressed.

Bought parts online. Unfortunately some fittings were missing. I sent them an email. Within a couple hours I had a apology and he said the parts would be sorted ASAP. A few days later they arrived. Brilliant customer service. Would definitely recommend.

Deliberated long and hard on this review please read fully so that Maltings have a fair review. My vehicle failed MOT elsewhere on an item the test station wouldn't repair as Maltings is quite local and a Land Rover specialist I chose to put it there for repair and re-MOT. They did fit me in despite being very fully booked. After a couple of days they advised the previous MOT had missed a great amount of items which they would need to fix to provide new certificate. This I agreed to and let them carry on. I was advised on a couple of items they'd let me know once better diagnosis was done. After a couple of weeks of hearing nothing I chased them up, and was repeatedly told someone would call back. Eventually I think four weeks later I got a call to say the vehicle was ready. The timescale was fine with me as if told them I had another vehicle. However what I was not fine with was the unauthorized work and the not knowing in the interim. On collection I noted the new MOT certificate had advisory on a tyre for wear and they'd replaced a wiper blade. The tyre was new only 20 miles before dropping of the vehicle as was the replaced wiper blade. I approached the manager who got very bullish when I suggested could I trust them overall as these items were very obviously wrong, which cast doubt on other items. I got the vehicle home and the original fuel leak still seemed present. I contacted them and they advised to bring the vehicle back, which I did a couple of days later. Again I had to chase for the status of the vehicle and again work which I needed to pay for was performed. I collected the vehicle and got an apology for the previous bullish behaviour and a good discount on this session of work. So overall my review is as follows. I trust their actual workmanship and they have excellent knowledge of land rovers but communication is poor and seeking authorized work was non existent. However they did attempt to remediate somewhat. Would I use them again, 'yes' , knowledgeable specialist are hard to find, but I would manage them way better if they haven't improved. In honesty I think their success and good workmanship is their downfall as while mechanically they are excellent imho I believe they're taking on more than they could cope with and dropping the ball. They clearly know Land Rovers intimately and can perform tasks which would take many hours elsewhere quickly due to their familiarity and skills. Obviously they dropped stars for customer service and the points mentioned but I do believe the mechanical work is of a very good high standard , they just need to bring the admin to this level. The timescale of weeks I could cope with if they'd only kept me informed. As a point of reference I spent around 2k with them for the various tasks. Elsewhere this would have been considerably more as I know prices elsewhere for certain tasks they did.

Excellent service from initial phone call to getting work carried out . Dropped car off at garage and receptionist recommended a few places in York to eat was then given a run to Doncaster railway station by Sandy as was staying in York overnight whilst work was carried out as I had travelled from Scotland . Was kept updated by Andy throughout and also had a couple of other jobs done whilst car was at garage . On the return to the journey I was again picked up by Sandy from Doncaster railway station and taken to back to garage . Overall I found everyone friendly and professional and was very happy with work carried out

I bought my first Land Rover Discovery 3 2005. And when I got it I took it straight to Malting's for a health check. The health check Malting do is second to none and gives you a completely picture about your LR. And Only costs £50. Andy found several issues with my LR, and rather than saying you need to have everything fix now, he give me a plan to fix it over a few months. And Ive had everything fixed on my Discovery it is an absolute dream to drive, feels like a new car. I now love my Discovery Andy and his team treats you with respect and always make you feel very welcome and that you are a valued customer. You always get a warm reception and they give you time to ask any questions and with me being new to the world of LR I don't feel silly asking them anything because of how well you are treated. What I love the most about Malting is, You can phone up, Email or pop in and ask how much something is to fix and Andy gives you a price there and then including VAT. Unlike some garage who give you a price and then add VAT at the end. I am really pleased with Malting work and they have made my 13 year old Discovery feel like it is brand new. If you have a Land Rover I would strongly recommend visiting Malting and you will only feel welcome, respected and that you are a valued customer. Thank You to Andy and his team.
