M. O.Been using George at GBL Motors for all my MOTs for several years now. He's a fair tester who's not ever looking to pull the wool over your eyes and make money off you. Had bad experiences in the past with garages telling me parts are broken that aren't, refusing the MOT and even carrying out repairs without my say so before informing me the car had failed. Never have this worry at GBL. Had body work repairs done by George Jr on some trimwork on my car and he made light and perfect work off quite bad damage and it looked like new. Cant recommended enough, place doesnt look much but they'll always see you right👍
S. S.A friend reversed ( at speed) my Y reg Audi A4 Diesel Estate into the corner of a tail lift and really crumpled it where the rear and the rear nearside panels meet and smashed the nearside rear light cluster too.
George was at first hesitant to do the work because of the severity of the damage but he noted the otherwise good condition of a low value car which could still pass a few more MoTs. When he was sure that he could do the work to perfection ( “otherwise what would be point in doing it?) he undertook to do the work over four consecutive days for a very competitive quote. When I went to collect the car I was most impressed by the high standard of his coachwork. As promised, the repaired damaged wing was indistinguishable from the undamaged wing.
At GBL you pay only for craftsmanship and attention to detail ( and the big German metal bending machine) rather than uniformed reception staff and a comfortable reception area with complimentary coffee. (You can find such features at the coachworks which quoted over twice as much.) Given the tightness of access down Duff Street Lane George also offers a complimentary valet reversing service which I was pleased to accept.
I cannot recommend GBL enough.
