I started using M.B. Jarvie a few years back for my mini, when I was told by a previous garage I was in need of a new EGR valve and was quoted an eye-watering amount. After a quick online search for BMW garage experts, I came across M.B Jarvie. A little less than an eye-watering bill later, and my car has been awesome since. I believe this is my third MOT with them and I have used them for servicing my car. It has taken me a while to leave a review, partly because not much needs done to my vehicle. Also, I wanted to ensure the review I gave would be a good representation of the business for potential future clients. I can assure you that 5 stars is definitely a for this garage. I have found the online booking service very satisfactory; overall services have been great; pricing for the work done to my car to-date is very fair. The level of professionalism and response is very high. I found the mechanic (possibly the owner) polite and professional. I will continue to use M.B. Jarvie.

Needed a new set of brakes all round, a fault cleared and a wheel alignment done. Communication was excellent throughout, with very prompt responses for the pricing of additional work being done. One minor hic-up with the brake fluid change (a late request on my part and a software glitch), but it was all completed and worked out better for me to collect the car the next day anyway. Overall excellent workmanship and communication. Will be back for sure.

Second time have had the pleasure of the team working on my BMW X5 and like when repaired suspension this time a full service and minor repairs were every bit as world class by way of service, communication, safety, depth of care and speed of support - to a level I haven't seen in 35 years motoring. One more thing, the pricing is excellent and I would never disrespect anywhere else but the honesty and integrity unquestionable. And when got service back the amount of detail checked was incredible. 1st time using this garage for my car. Adam went out of his way to accommodate me to fit me in for a service and M.O.T on short notice, even though short staffed due to COVID. Their email and text updates system is fantastic and gives you peace of mind and progress reports. Drop off was seamless with a contactless system, you just drop off your key in a letterbox style chute, I then received a text message to say my key had been received by them. On collecting the car I had the privilege of meeting Adam who was very polite and knowledgeable about his trade. The prices are reasonable too and the invoicing is transparent with a full breakdown of all works carried out. I have finally found a genuine garage who I can now trust and leave my car with without any worries. I Can highly recommend MB Jarvie and Adam and his team, and will definitely be back.

The service they offer is great. I took my 2010 car for wheel alignment. The booking processes was easy. The car needed a little extra work to be 100% perfect but Adam told me it's 90% fine and the cost of doing the extra work outweighed the car value. That there is honesty. They emailed me a report of before and after the job is done. My car handles way better than before. I will surely recommend this garage.

They checked the car over thoroughly and managed to find what was causing it but also identifying and fixing some other things along the way. Addictively transparent & professional service! Lady on the phone is just amazing. Haven't felt this much valued elsewhere. She helped me book the 4x4 alignment and explained everything thoroughly. Not only that she even put me thru to Adam who listened to my concerns and questions really patiently and addressed them all. Got a reminder text message on the day of booking and also a text message of when the car would be ready for collection (in good time) along with the charges! Much, much cheaper than what I anticipated or what I am used to paying at Land Rover specialists. Adam even told me to bring the car back if I wasnt happy with the alignment! I had (DIY) fitted a refurbished rear subframe and all new suspension arms/drop links/struts/ARB bushes and tie bars to the rear of my Jaguar XF, but didn't have the equipment to set the rear toe, so trusted the alignment work to MB Jarvie. I enquired via the on-line booking stating I was flexible for an appointment and they managed to fit me in next-day on a cancellation. I dropped the car off just before 9AM, and before mid-day I had received via email a PDF with the before-and-after geometry data for the car and an invoice that was in-line with what was quoted on their website (including a small anticipated labour charge for freeing off seized adjustment points!). I also received a notice and pictorial evidence that Adam had spotted that the O/S/F brake flexi-hose was weeping, with the advice to change it ASAP - something I was very grateful for as I had not being paying any attention to the front of the car while working on the rear! Excellent communication, top quality workmanship, superb customer service and advice, with no attempts to upsell repairs. This is the second time I have used MB Jarvie for work - the previous time they repaired a air-con leak on my wife's Suzuki Swift Sport and again this was done in a timely manner and at the quoted price. Adam is someone who clearly take pride in the quality of his business's services, and quality is the word I would use to sum up MB Jarvie!

I had a complex problem which was hard to pin down ( and indeed may require further work) - but I was hugely impressed by the care taken in communication before during and after the work. I contacted M.B Jarvie last week requesting my car be booked in for a 4 wheel alignment, as it had one a few days previous at another garage, and they had completely messed my car up, it just didn't feel right at all! After reading the reviews of M.B Jarvie I felt they looked professional and worth paying the little bit extra over what other companies charge for alignments. I was of the opinion If they are good enough to align Lamborghini's, Porsche's etc, then they are certainly good enough for mine. Communication before the car was even looked at was excellent. The day of drop off was simple and the email with the alignment data of the before & after specs, invoice, payment options was friendly. I had actually requested I pay for the 4 Wheel alignment & Geometry Audit however Adam was very honest and advised he would only do this if they weren't able to get the alignment into spec. How many other garages would refuse extra money a customer is offering and put honesty first? Not many, but M.B Jarvie does! Sure, you can get alignment's done cheaper at the bigger branded tyre places I won't name but do yourself a favour... Pay the extra 30/40quid and have it done once and right! I've had loads of alignments on cars over the years and wish I'd found M.B Jarvie sooner. Most garages will simply align your car so that the specs are 'within tolerance' rather than having the degrees bang on where they should be. M.B Jarvie take the time to do it right thus ensuring a happy customer. My car feels transformed and the best it's been since my ownership. I won't use anywhere else now for alignments and highly recommend to anyone considering using them.

I do my own repairs and would be sceptical of any garages touching my car, however I had to have my tracking done as it needs 4 wheel alignment, and air-con charged up there recently, I've had some places do the 4 wheel alignment before, and I felt as though they weren't really that interested in getting it properly set, just doing the basic front tracking. MB Jarvie were different, they set it up very well, and sent me the report back by email. very efficient and thorough work done, and very good progress reports and feedback. Will be using again for any other work such as this that my toolbox does not stretch too.

Communicated well and promptly through email and text, and answered the phone quickly when I had a few questions. Didn't get the chance to speak face-to-face for long, as they have a key drop off box due to covid (and the weather was honking so we didn't want to hang around), but this wasn't an issue. Exceptional service. Fair value. Prompt timing. Excellent communication. If you pay attention to your texts and emails, that is. I haven't been able to really speak to anyone which is fine if you don't like talking to mechanics and engineers. I do so I feel it's a part of the experience that's missing. It is maybe the only gripe I have with this garage. As friendly as they are, in the two times I've used them, they don't call. Every update is by text and email which is convenient if you have your smart phone with you at all times. Not everyone does. Bar that, they send full reports of work carried out and complete breakdowns (with explanations) of the costs. First time I took my Jaguar XF in was to get the air con fixed since my specialist doesn't do air con. Based on high recommendations, I booked it in. I have to say that, for the uninitiated, the experience could be taken as inhuman. Alien, even. After all, these are engineers so human relations isn't their strong suit but, in their way, they make the experience as friendly, efficient and trouble free as possible. The second time was just yesterday. Simple alignment of all four wheels. Booked in for today. Dropped off yesterday and I got a text a few minutes later after putting my keys through their hatch saying they received my keys. Very efficient. Work was done this morning and, as per the last time, payment and collection details are all communicated online along with full details of the work done accompanied with photos. As I stated, they are excellent from what I've experienced. If you prefer the human touch, there are other garages. For my purposes, these guys are my go-to for anything my specialist doesn't do.

I'm not a mechanic and this was the first service due for my 'new' second hand BMW, so I was looking for a local privately owned garage with a good reputation and one that wasn't going to rip you off. I used this garage for the first time and I will 100% use them again for any future car repairs/service. There were a few warning lights coming up on my Mercedes dashboard and this involved diagnostic tests before any repairs were carried out. The previous garage I had used wasn't able to diagnose fully the reason for the faults; but MB Jarvie were able to do this and get it all sorted. MB Jarvie have an account with Mercedes which means they are able to source all the parts so no need to go to the actual dealership for repairs (which would most likely cost more). Main guy Adam was great from start to finish. Professional and funny.

Had quite a bad vibration coming from my steering wheel due to a buckled wheel and after two Unsuccessful attempts trying to get the buckle repaired at alloy wheel specialists I decided to use MB Jarvie’s force matching machine and 4 wheel alignment system and i can honestly say I don’t feel any vibration now and the car drives spot on. Will definitely be using them again in the future! Superb service from start to finish. You don’t ever have to chase them up for any updates on your car. I’d highly recommend M B Jarvie if you value good honest professional service and expertise above paying over the odds for shiny glass-fronted showrooms. I stepped outside of the Mercedes main dealer network after years of disappointment and I’m glad I finally did. Easily the greatest garage I have ever come across in over 20 years of owning a car They are the most honest, genuine people. It's a family run business with a huge waiting list to get work done which is a testimony to their trustworthiness They are genuine car enthusiasts, Always giving stories of great cars they had or customers cars, it's fascinating to hear. Constantly on training courses to keep ahead of the field in an ever changing modern car market Aston martins to rolls Porsche to bentleys, jags to range rovers there isn't a car that I haven't seen in their garage along with the everyday cars They cannot do enough to help get your car back in the road for the most reasonable price I am not saying they are cheap, you do pay for what you get, you will not be ripped off like other garages I've used in the past, They will talk over the options, give you their recommendation and leave the decision to you, There is no hard sell on having to get work done.

Wish I had used these guys on my previous vehicles. My Legacy was pulling heavily to the left and had a strong wheel vibration. A chat with Adam at MB Jarvie over the phone sorted out a plan; Hunter 4-Wheel Alignment and a balance if neccesary. Adam kept me up to date via email throughout the whole process and was able to improve on the STI's recomendations which were provided in the handbook. Issue appears to be resolved, however will require further testing. If it isnt I will have no hesitation in going back to continue working out any issues (these issues arent always simple to resolve). Mr Jarvie is an ex Rolls Royce Motors mechanic so if he can work on those cars then he can work on yours. I was fully informed of the possible causes and remedies. A time frame was given and the failure found and rectified quickly.
