If you want great service to service your carbs these are the people, not only are they in my experience less than half price than the other suppliers but a lot quicker to. They also keep you well informed how your carbs are progressing, my Jaguar is now running very well, just talk to Ian you wont be disappointed.

As Carburettor specialists these guys really know their stuff. Had a pair of H4 Carb bodies re-furbished and re-bushed, came back better than new. Looked better on the mantlepiece than on the car! Coln have done a SUPERB job with restoring an old Hobson Claudel carburettor from a 1936 Armstrong Siddeley car. Found Ian great to work with, willing to discuss alternative options for repairs and plating. The work is first class and I am very satisfied with the service I received. I sent the stripped out parts and he repaired the pilot screw threads (reason for rebuild), blasted the body and plated the steel parts. I completed the rebuild myself.

I stumbled across Ian and Coln Engineering whilst searching for a repair on a set of Honda carbs. The replacement part I was about to buy was a small fortune and Ian offered to repair and refurbish the set for me. Some of their work on their web page is amazing and I’ve just received my set back today. They are better than I could possibly have hoped for. Better than new ? ..definitely. Ian was very helpful throughout, prepared to answer any queries quickly and I’m so impressed with Ian and his company. You can deal with with Ian and be confidence that your precious carbs are in good hands. 20/12 Ian and his company did some other work for me, vapour blasting on a foot peg mount, it came out beautifully and was returned really quickly. I have an old motorcycle I was having so many problems with relating to the carburetors and the amount of time the bike had been standing. I rang Ian and dropped them in to be sorted and professionally serviced and cleaned. Ian is such a knowledgable chap and sorted them with out any problems. I'm doing a comprehensive restoration of my 1961 MGA 1600 coupe, including a full engine rebuild, and wanted my SU H4 carburetors overhauled. I searched for specialists who could do the work and found Coln Engineering who, whilst not close to home, gave a detailed description of their services and processes that persuaded me that they would be the people to do the job, so I boxed them up and shipped them off to Gloucestershire. Over the next four weeks, Ian at Coln was in regular contact, providing details of faults found and necessary replacement parts and repairs required, and a firm quote for the job. When they were returned, I was absolutely delighted with the results. My carbs were like new and ready to be installed in my car at a fraction the cost of new replacements. I recently won my dream car at an auction, a beautiful 1962 Mercedes SL 190, she needs some love but not a lot, I removed the original carbs and was looking to have them fully restored, from the outset Colon were off the scale professional, helpful and communicative. I parcelled up my precious Carbs and off they went...Even before they had arrived I was notified of looking out for their arrival, from the day they arrived I was informed with updates via email any unforeseen additional needs were clearly reported and priced, to be honest I didn’t think there was companies that operated like this. Needless to say when I received them I wanted to bore anyone who would listen to me about the amazing restoration work that had been done on my Solex Carbs.
