Adrian replaced the TCU battery on my 4 series after it began to fail and was throwing up the annoying SOS system failure warning on ignition. It's a tricky job as it entails getting past the roof lining on the vehicle. With this in mind as well as it being my first time not using a BMW service centre, I was a tad wary. Needless to say, I picked my car up a couple of days after dropping it off to a job well done- TCU battery replaced, SOS call system working and the warning coded out (not to mention around £150-200 saved vs going through BMW). I wouldn't hesitate to use Adrian/ Gilberts again and would readily recommend them to anyone sick of paying BMW service centre prices!

Contacted Gilberts BMW and Adrian based on their BMW specialist credentials and excellent reviews and feedback. Cant agree more with most of whats already been said. From the offset Adrian communicated clearly with me, and what turned out to be a simple headlights issue turned into a bit of a saga due to bodge job by previous cowboy mechanics, Adrian was thorough and explained things all along the way, he went over and beyond what we both initially thought was the problem. Charges were clear and fair. Adrian is very clear, diligent, honest and professional. I would thoroughly recommend his garage and services.

Great service as usual, we only take our BMW to Gilberts and so far we've never had any issues. They've always been good to explain to me on the phone what needs to be done based on description of issue and it takes as stated time to repair, if not shorter. Absolutely fantastic. After searching the internet for a reliable BMW specialist to change my brake pads Gilbert's came up as being reliable due to the reviews. The gentleman is a one man band who has been in the business for 35+ years. Fantastic service and great communication. Great surprise and delight when I came to pay and it turned up cheaper than the initial quote. I was desperate to have my car completed by 2pm, and it was ready by 1pm. Highly skilled mechanic. I would definitely recommend Adrian to anyone that has a BMW. Previously, my E90 had been to several garages and failed to fix my fan issue. Adrian diagnosed and replaced electric water pump and thermostat and the issue was resolved from the first time.

Took my car to Adrian with intermittent starting problems and engine oil leaks. This car had been to several garages and had a number of parts replaced with no success. Adrian sorted my oil leaks and diagnosed DME/EWS fault. Replaced both units with lock set and all is working fine. I am very thankful for is patience because the parts got lost in the post and the car was sitting in is garage for 3 weeks. The car is running perfectly now and I am very grateful. Highly recommended garage.

This is a small one-man band garage. Adrian is a real BMW specialist though. So this guarantees continuous expert service. He cannot always tell you a specific price in advance but he seems honest. Not cheap but reliable. He will refer you to other experts if he doesn't have the equipment or expertise (eg gearbox). We have been using him for over 10 years, no problem at all.

Was really pleased with the advise over a phone call today. The gentleman I spoke with today, went to great lenghts to offer remedies and solutions for the issues I'm facing with my bmw ( baring in mind he hadn't seen my bmw 318i) - will definitely consider using them in future. Very patient, made every attempt to explain possible factors and solutions without rushing me off the phone or getting impatient. This is what you expect customer service to be like.. well done much appreciated :)

Excellent expertise ;have been using him for over 3 years... However off late he quotes a price and then when you go to collect the vehicle he jacks it up by saying he forgot this and that very politely...Then his rate is becoming almost same as BMW dealership so wont be taking my business to him going forward unless this changes.But do value his expertise...
