Yesterday morning I found my car with a pancake instead of a tyre but after popping into RW Autos at 7.45am for advice, they picked up my vehicle 20mins later before returning it home that afternoon all fixed! WOW is how I would describe this garage!! We are a used car dealer based in Southampton (Hollybrook Car Centre). We sold a 2016 Mercedes C-Class to a customer who lives not far from RW AUTOS. Unfortunately the car we sold developed a fault with the locking mechanism of the bonnet. I searched for a mechanical repair in our customers area and came across RW who had excellent review ratings. I spoke to a chap called Ian who was very welcoming and friendly and said to get my customer to pop in and see him and he'll have a look at it for me straight away. Within a few minutes of our customer arriving, Ian was able to diagnose the fault and not long after that had it rectified and all was good. We phoned him to pay for his time and my jaw hit the floor when he said it was only a 10 minute and that he didn't want any money for it. You just dont get this level of service any more from our experience. If you're in London and need a good, honest mechanic go and see IAN AT RW AUTOS. TOP CLASS SERVICE!!! Thank you Ian

Lovely people, proper old school customer care and service, amazing prices considering location in Central London and consistently good advice. Absolutely amazing service. Came last year with clutch pressing to the floor. While most garrages would have tried to charge a fortune to 'fix' the issue, Ian showed me how to fix the issue with my car within 2 minutes and didnt charge (the pedal just needed pumping by hand a few times). Did my service and MOT with them and they're great guys.

It was my first experience with RW Auto's today after being recommended the garage and I could not be happier. I was informed that unlike a lot of garages around me they have experience in both classic and newer motors, so I brought in my 1976 corvette to them for an inspection on a few problems I am having, which they completed quickly and thoroughly before getting back to me over the phone to report their findings in detail. Great service so far and I will definitely be using their garage to complete the future maintenance work.

BMW garage told me 1 front shock absorber was leaking, were recommending to replace both at the front for a cost of £1760. Took it to RW Autos, they immediately showed me the extent of the problem and could recommend that it didn't need replacing! We'd also spoken before coming in about cost of replacement if necessary - they would have charged less than BMW for the exact parts and were also able to offer a cheaper alternative shock absorber. Really appreciate the honesty and clear advice - will definitely be back.

Our Ford Focus had developed a fault that two other garages didn't seem able to fix, despite charging for it... What a great find right on the doorstep. My Audi had been troubled for years and Ian took a look and immediately identified the cooling fan control unit as the issue. I have a 2004 'Fanny' the Ford Fiesta and I've been a highly satisfied customer since I purchased my car in 2009. Ian, Pat and the mechanics are a great team at RW Autos and Ian knows my car well. As a result of my semi-automatic gear box, he resets the gearbox/computer within minutes and they repair everything. I recently went to a local KwikFit where I reside, on the other side of London, for an expensive service as I will be touring around the country but after telling them everything which required attention, including sensor codes, they didn't have time to: replace light bulbs, they don't do spark plugs anymore whilst telling me they last a lifetime (mine were completely rusted) and I was told to Google the sensor codes they put on my service sheet (I sat there in disbelief) moreover, the gearbox needed tightening but they don't do that either? It was a 'never-again' experience with KwikFit then a drive across to RW's in Bermondsey where Ian had everything repaired by lunchtime, thank goodness. They are fair priced, have always looked after my car, have great customer service skills and after service care. As a long-standing customer, I can highly recommend Ian and the team at RW's who are terrific 'old school, know what they're doing, won't rip you off' mechanics. Signed, a female car enthusiast.

This is the BEST GARAGE we have ever been to. Ian and his workers give you their full attention, give a genuine opinion on what needs to be done at extremely reasonable prices. Service is always fast and they can get pretty much anything done in a day. Our car had a problem with the jack support and rather than make us change the whole part, which would have cost us hundreds, Ian just spent some time fixing it and charge me next to nothing. Absolutely amazing garage, great professionalism and no matter how busy they are, they'll always attend to you there and then and will always give their honest opinions and not just try emptying your wallet. Had several issues with my Audi S8 and they were my go to garage for any issue. They're faster than an main dealer, better and far cheaper too. I was quoted over £400 just to replace the battery in my car from an Audi dealer and got it fitted here for half the price with a genuine dealer battery, easily one of the cheapest garages in London. I would definitely recommend RW Autos for all makes and models and will definitely be using their services for any further issues.

Unbelievably helpful and professional service. I needed some advice for a very minor issue with my car and it was freely given. Over the last 3 years, they have repaired and serviced my 17 year old Jaguar XKR. The repairs have been extensive, from repairing the car for its MOT, extensive welding to both the car floor and rebuilding both rear wheel arches, replacing both rear shock absorbers, and servicing the car. Their meticulous work has allowed me to drive to Cannes in the South of France, circa 2 thousand miles, on two occasions. Both trips were without incident. They kept the costs down to a very fair level. They also suggested a way of me saving some money on another issue with the car, rather than just doing it the expensive way. I love it when businesses try to 'help the customer out'. Plus they're not far from London Bridge station so it was easy to travel to and from the garage when I dropped off / picked up the car. Once when my car was running rough and I assumed it needed money spending on it, they took a look and told me it was probably just bad fuel and would sort itself out - their diagnosis was correct and they didn't even charge me. Another time they welded (and fixed) a cracked gearbox casing which most places would have wanted to replace (expensively!) Full marks.

Update on my previous comment (23/10/17): Ian; from RW Autos, called me today and explained the process and also apologised on be half of the mechanic who misbehaved to me. He offered a deal on my next service as a good will. I appreciate and believe in his good will and I increase my rating from 3 star to 4 star. Please note that, they fixed my car properly and I think they do a good job. My below complaint was solely due to the rude behaviour I was exposed to which could be a single exceptional case. Next time, I will take my car back to RW Autos again. Original comment (20/10/17) I had a broken parking brake. I had the appointment for 7:30am on 18/10/17. I was there on time. I told my problem. I was told that if there was no need to change any part I would be able get the car back on the same day. Nobody called me until approximately 2pm and then I decided calling the garage. On the phone I was told that the parking brake mechanism needed to be changed. I gave them the authority to order the spare parts. I was told that they would expect the parts in the morning on 19/10/17. And also they said if the parts arrived early in that morning I would be able to get my car back by lunch time. Then of course I re-arranged my agenda for that day. Here is what happened on 19/10/17: 1- Nobody called me until 10am and I decided calling them to learn the status of the work. The answer was that the parts had not yet arrived. 2- Nobody called me until around 2pm and I called them back. The answer was that the parts had arrived and they were working to fix my car. 3- Nobody called me until 4:30pm and I called them back because they are closing at 6pm and I need my car for daily commute. The answer was the car was fixed and I could get it back. 4- 2 minutes later they called me and they said the work has not yet finished and they told me not to come down to the garage until they would call me. I emphasized that I needed the car that they. 5- Nobody called me until 5:30pm and they close at 6pm. Then I called them back at 5:30pm and the mechanic talking to me on the phone was very angry and talked me with imperative sentences and he said ''I told you I would call you, didn't I''. 6- They called me at 5:45pm and they said the work had finished and I could get the car. 7- I arrived there at 5:55pm. There were only 2 mechanics working in the garage. I asked if they had a labour shortage. The senior mechanic confirmed their interim labour shortage. Then I said that that explained why he was angry and rude. He responded that he was angry because i was a pain in the back. I did not argue. I paid the money. I drove away. I think they did a good job. For now, my parking brake works well. They could be specialists and maybe they are really good at their job. However, they are running a business and they cannot talk to their customers in the way I experienced. Although I think they did a good job I will not go to RW Autos again.

These guys are the real deal. Was feeling pretty low when I took my pre owned bmw ( id had it less than a week) in with gear box issues. Ian gave me great advice from the get go and explained that the trader id bought the car from would be liable for the faulty gearbox and not me. They explained the whole process, told me the trader would try to avoid his obligation (he did), he’d stop communicating with me (he did he blocked me). However RW Autos said not to worry, it would work out! Honest no nonsense advice. If that’s what you want look no further. PS they didn’t charge me for all their time.

Absolutely impressed with the garage. I was looking for a local place for a minor job of undoing a petrol flap bolt which I thought needed drilling. Ian agreed to help me out and did the job avoiding drilling, which could have damaged petrol flap and resulted in extra costs for the part. I have also asked if he could take a look at a noise my car has been making after change of wheels. Source of the noise was diagnosed and fixed in no more than 5 MINUTES. These two small episodes showed me that Ian has the experience and knowledge which can save time and money when it comes to dealing with car issues. The first time I used RW Autos I thought I had a leaking slave cylinder for the clutch (which is a very common faults for MX5s such as my own). I booked the car in for this to be replaced and Ian very kindly called me to explain that having checked it over he couldn't find anything wrong - after discussing the problem in more detail he was able to diagnose that the problem I'd experienced had probably been because the car had been standing for some time. Ian took some time to explain to me why this was the case and refused to charge me for the time that he'd spent checking the car over. I'm sure a less honest or thorough garage would have just replaced it I would have happily paid them without question. Two years on, my clutch slave cylinder is still fine and the car goes there twice a year, for all its servicing and MOTs. On every occasion I've been really pleased with the service provided. Any work required is carried out efficiently and they've never tried to fit a new part that wasn't required. Their labour rate is also very good considering their location. I should also add that often when I take the car in they're often also working on prestige and performance cars (Bentleys etc), but although me and my teenage Mazda must look like small fry in comparison to some of their other clients Ian always remembers my name and takes time to talk me through the work carried out. In summary I've never driven away without complete peace of mind.

My Mercedes headlight led indicator stopped working mysteriously, but one the mechanics at this place used a tool to diagnose the direction and intensity of the electrical currents to determine that the control unit for the LED was broken.
