I don't know much about cars so it's often hard to trust a mechanic -- previously I've been left with the feeling that they could have done anything and charged any price and I'm none the wiser. This isn't the case with Mike. He took the time to show me and talk me through exactly what parts were worn and needed replacing. His invoices are also really clear in terms of detailing what's been done. I genuinely felt convinced he wasn't out to rip me or anyone else off. Also I now know about 800% more about cars than I did before :). Also, Mike just seems like a really nice guy. This along with his excellent work makes it really easy to want to support his business. Will definitely back for service and MOT when the time comes. Highly recommended.

My steering wheel was making a creaky noise for a while and my left passenger rear tyre lost pressure 2 weeks after filling it with air. After getting a few free checks (steering wheel, suspension, brake, tyres) from Halfords, I was quoted to replace the rear driver side tyre due to multiple screws in it, renew the front suspension link arms due to excessive wear and to do an air con service. I called Mike to get another quote and he was so helpful in trying to establish the problem over the phone initially to give me an accurate quote. He then asked me to pop down to the garage the same day and he checked both tyres, and couldn't see any screws or glass in them, just that the tread depth was a bit low but still above the legal limit. He even test drove the vehicle to identify any worrying sounds and diagnosed the creaky steering wheel sound was due to some wear and that I needed a steering wheel column replacement but clarified that the car wasn't dangerous to drive, it was just an annoying sound. I am due to go on a road trip in a few days so it didn't leave enough time to book in for a replacement. He was able to use some lubricant to the steering wheel as a short term solution. Mike is an honest and professional mechanic, certainly not a rip off like many garages out there! Thanks for all your help and patience Mike. I will definitely book you for when I do need repairs to the car!

I have had electrical issue with my car for 6 month I been to several mechanics without any solution. He pointed out the issue within few minutes. Mike was really professional with his fault finding method and communication. It was clear that he is a specialist and know his stuff. I true gentleman and a top mechanic. I initial went with him following the good reviews I saw. They are 110% genuine don't waste your time and go with Mike if you need things sorted!! I got my self a mechanic for life. Fingers cross I wouldn't need you too soon but I will know where to find you if I do in the future.

Mike is a top notch mechanic and extremely knowledgeable. Went for a gasket and oil change and managed to sort a few other things out all at an amazing price and with impeccable service. A true honest and hardworking mechanic which are extremely rare to come by these days. The best in the business without a doubt, he has now got himself a new regular. True gent, thorough explanation of what was needed and upfront about the price. Hard grafter that squeezed the job in, that said - i didn't feel it was rushed. I am really satisfied with the commitment and effort That Mr Micheal put through his work to give the best service he can. He was ready to help me with all his knowledge that he had to get my electric scooter working. Mike was very friendly and willing to sort my car even though it was a rare model and most independents would run a mile! Despite a few complications with technicalities and other practicalities he was able to inform me of exactly what work was being undertaken, along with photos! Even though he had not worked on my car before, he seemed to know exactly what he was doing and indeed fixed it correctly, it is currently running very well. What is the most valued feature of his service (apart from the cheerfulness!) is that he does not rush into things- he researches the problem and gives careful advice which does not necessarily end up with expensive part changes. The communication is also impressive- when he says he will call, he does (which, sadly, has not been my previous experience with other car specialists). After searching all of east London for the most competitive auto repair centre. Michael, the owner was recommended by a good friend of mine that had used him before for a major service. I hit my 2010 polo moda in April and it was devestating damage. Michael had my car looking 'showroom new' I was gobsmacked, I literally couldn't believe it was my car. Two new tyres and a correction from a previous mechanics servicing, it was truly a blessing, you have to be so careful who you use out there. I recommend Michael to all, check out his website for all of the services, it is an extensive list and Michael is a truly talented specialist within this sector. Couldn't have been more happy with the level of customer service and the price didn't burn a hole in my pocket either. I haven't come across a better garage in all my years !!! This is the first time that I have written a review for a garage, essentially because in the past I have become used to poor service to the point where it has become the norm. However, Mike at Sphynx has changed the game. Allow me to explain. My car had a fault which required Mike to spend most of the day working on it. From start to finish Mike ensured that I was kept up to date with the progress by phoning me and even taking pictures that he showed me when I turned up to collect the vehicle. Was Mike expensive? No he wasn't. Mike is an honourable man, the type of person that leaves you thinking, "what a nice chap". Thanks Mike.

Took my very broken Audi A2 here to see if it was worth reviving or be sent to that car farm in the sky. The owner Michael talked me through the extensive work that the car would need to be brought back to life. He explained every step of the way cost and implications of each part needed and required. As a female my usual experience of being in garage is of being patronised or have condescending remarks and comments thrown in my general direction. Absolutely not the case with Michael. I cannot praise him enough. His whole manner of honesty and transparency is definitely a rarity within the car repair industry. I found Mike on who can fix my car after having what I thought were DPF issues. I had left my car with him and before I’d even got home he’d called me to tell me what was actually wrong with it.He kept me informed the whole way in terms of how much it would cost and what parts he would need to purchase to avoid any horrible surprises. First of all, I want to thank Michael Morrison, the owner for all the help offered me and for the great job done! He was the only one who accepted the job, and he fixed my car in the same day. He didn't take advantage that everyone was closed on the third of January 2016 and he didn't charge me on excess.
