I took my vehicle for its first Mot. Booking was very easy online and the information received very clear. A phone call the day before to check I was bring the vehicle in and confirm the time was excellent. Although not part of the MOT they did advise that there was a nail in a tyre which was very good and I was lucky it had not caused a puncture. A phone call when the vehicle was ready as company Covid procedure did not allow me to wait. Very pleased with the service.

Brilliant, friendly and very helpful receptionist (Krissie?) was very good and a joy to work with, and deserves a big well done for her customer focus, friendliness and efficiency. On the negative side, our dashcam wasn't put back on after being removed or knocked off, and the MOT, tyre change, service and minor wing mirror repair took all day and I had to cancel a late afternoon work meeting as I thought the work merited only a day and a half, especially as I dropped the car off at 0800. Otherwise, happy with work done, but mainly due to the receptionist - without whose friendly manner I may have been a little more bothered by the time delays and the dashcam!

I pulled into the Maidstone branch on Upper Stone street on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't a planned visit, but I'm so glad they were open. One of the rear tyres on my Mitsubishi Barbarian L200 kept going down. I just assumed it was a very slow puncture because I only needed to pump it up once a fortnight. But on this particular Sunday i couldn't get it to pump up? I visited 3 different local petrol stations in case the air pumps on each of the first two were faulty. After my 3rd attempt, I gave up and decided to head home because I thought there was nothing else I could do on a Sunday. On my way home I noticed the Halfords autocentre was open. I didn't have the necessary funds on me for a new tyre etc, but I thought I'd ask for some advice or an explanation as to why my tyre refused to inflate. I couldn't quite believe what happened next? I went into the customer service office and I was greeted by a very warm and friendly man who asked me how he could help. I told him the story and he asked me to pull into one of the working bays. He got an air line and attached it to the valve on my tyre. Nothing. It still wouldn't pump up even with the powerful air compressors they use. He knew what the problem was straight away. He said the valve was broken. Not only that, but he also described to me how the inside of valves work. But it got even better for me..? I don't know anything about engines and tyres etc. I was expecting the kind and helpful manager/supervisor to tell me I'll need to book an appointment? But the response I got was totally the opposite. Within 5 minutes I was back on the road with a new replacement valve and a fully inflated tyre! I didn't get the manager/supervisors name, but he was on duty Sunday afternoon 5/02/22 at the Upper Stone street branch in Maidstone, Kent. Whoever that fella is, he's without doubt a huge credit to Halfords Autocentre.

Easy from start to finish. As a female I find it really intimidating going to garages and getting parts for my car sorted.. but I went to the wrong Halfords and then subsequently ended up being 10 mins late to my booking but the lady at the desk was so lovely (which was so easy to book online). They took my order number and keys and within minutes someone drove my car Into the garage whilst I sat in the warm and they sorted the battery within 10 minutes!! They even checked all of my tyres and reminded me when my MOT is due.. as for booking this slot - it was so easy! They found the correct battery for my car on the website in minutes and then fit me in for a slot the next day!

We had an unusual situation with an emissions test for an import vehicle as part of our MOT test, and legislation had been tweaked meaning proof of import was needed to a higher level than previously. This was no fault at all of the wonderful Maidstone team, and they could not have been more helpful, reasonable, well humoured and communicative... we got there in the end! I wouldn't use anyone else for anything they can cover, and we owe a massive thanks to Andy, Krissy, and Sanjay for getting us there. Another years "happy" motoring (!) See you next July! My car's engine had just stopped working in the fast lane of the M26, and would not run half a mile before stopping again and again. I was eventually towed to the Halford Autocenter in Maidstone. Andy the senior garagist quickly identified the engine's fuel pressure sensor as the culprit. A replacement sensor was ordered. Despite a heavy schedule during the end of year period, the job was carried out in earnest and professionally. I am glad that I was able to collect my car shortly after Christmas in fine working order.

This place doesn't allow customer waiting as the sofa in the office is not for sitting and waiting for customers. I am happy about the physical job done. However, record keeping is significantly poor. My car registration number, milage and customers name were grossly wrong. Management needs to employ some one who can read and write in the office! Good points are : fast service, competitive price and availability.

Booked in my old Peugeot for a oil & oil filter change at the Maidstone branch on Upper Stone Street, the guys even taped up the bumper at the back that was hanging off, no extra charge. Does what it says on the tin. Had front pads done, very expensive and they gave no option to just have the 1 replacement, instead giving 'lifetime replacement' which I guess is good as it's for the person, not the vehicle, but honestly I could pick up and fit pads for 30 quid, I was charged £140. My fault really for leaving the service/MOT to the last day really. Great team, friendly staff, and fit me in same day.

Sometimes you feel that if you take your car in for a MOT at big companies that they will find something wrong with your car to make up for the cheap MOT. I paid £20 less than anywhere else and had no problems with my car and it passed first time. I would come back again.

Since discovering that they are able to do main dealer services that do not invalidate your warranty I have never used a main dealer again. Halfords are everything a main dealer service centre is not, they give great service, do what they say they will and do not rip you off. If extra work is needed they clearly explain what it is, why it is and the alternatives if you do not do it at the time. Main dealers could learn alot from these guys.

My Car was booked in for an MOT and to have the Two front tyres changed, the quote for the tyres was competitive, the MOT went well and the inspector called me in to talk about the tyres and explained that actually they didn't need changing they still had 4 mm of tread on them in the middle of the tyre but from the sides they looked like they needed changing so of course I was really happy about this, i can only deduce that these guys are an honest bunch, they could very easily of just changed the tyres and not said anything but i'm pleased to say they didn't, so I will be using them again!! well done to you all!!

As the chap before said , ignore the poor reviews. They Took my car 10 minutes early , finished it in 45 mins I know the rear tyres are getting on the low side but still legal as I had car serviced by main dealer 2 months ago and they said 2 back tyres will need replace at some point in 2017 , so I was waiting on the " it needs a couple of tyres guv" if you want it to pass . Not a bit of it , car passed with no advisories and the MOT was £25 cheaper than my main dealer wanted. Fantastic service , I will definitely use them again

Booked in,online, to have Aircon serviced. So much cheaper than through Main Dealer. Also asked for Cambelt to be assessed. Process for booking was straightforward and the service I received at the Centre was really very good. It was friendly and informative and I will certainly return for those type of jobs that can be irritatingly expensive at Main Dealers. Next up is a coolant change which I shall book in in next month or so. They are very busy so must be doing something right.

Halfords Auto centre stock a wide range of car parts and Accessories. As well as in car Audio devices and Bicycles. If you require a car part that they Stock, they will also fit the part for you for a fee of about £8:00p, which I am sure is cheaper than having the Garage carry out the Repair. I have had a Battery installed and a Headlight where as each replacement cost £8:00p to have done. The Staff are very Helpful and Friendly.
