I've used this centre a couple of times for servicing and MOT along with general repairs. I find them to be very helpful making sure to point out things that need doing whilst charging appropriately for any works carried out. I feel that I'm not going to get ripped off with work that isn't necessary with this garage and trust their work and opinions.

Found I had a flat tyre, called to Halfords the next morning & they fit me in the same day. Communication was really good and the repair was completed really quickly. Possibly a little more expensive than some others but well worth it for the convenience & professionalism

Good service, quick and efficient. Jamie's nice guy. Spring went in my Astra, a bit more than 24hrs later and it was done. Probably could get it done like 25% cheaper, but not as quick and close to my house. Recommend.

I booked in for a puncture repair, paying £25 for it. I also booked for some of the free checks that were available. I'm happy with all of the checks, a few problems were found and there was no pressure to have them fixed there and then I was just given a quote. The puncture on the tyer could not be repaired unfortunately, but I had paid £25 for it to be repaired which it has not been due to no fault on their part. There was no mention on if I would get this money back as they could not do the work. So I felt like I have paid £25 for nothing, it was only after some research that I found out I could have this refunded but to have this arranged I had to call customer services to have it done. It would have been a lot better if this had been done automatically and it would have been useful if I was made aware of this at the point of picking up my car.

Two days ago I ordered a windscreen wiper blade and the day after I had an appointment to fit it. My appointments time was at 1:30. I been there on time but as the manager said I was ordered a wrong wiper blade I had asked him if he could help me to change it then he did but he said you can come back after an hour and I came back on time but they were ordered a wrong wiper blade and told me to come back an hour later or tomorrow morning. I came back and they done it. I had ordered Bosch wiper blade but they fit something else. They did not made me aware of the brand and this is not a good idea.

NOTE:- when you are given a time, it is a drop off time NOT an appointment time,also I was surprised that no member of staff had a face mask on and with being in the middle of a pandemic, should have to protect fellow staff and to stop spreading the infection to customers cars.

Took my car in for a free steering diagnostic because i had some concerns about the noises my car was making and the steering being very tight. Broken steering rack had to be replaced and the steering is now perfect. However, my car was still making the clunking and clicking noises so I took it back in. After a second look they fitted a new front-right top mount, quoted at £166 but they didn't charge me for it, and that has fixed the problem. My car has never felt better to drive than it does now. I only spoke to the bloke at the front desk but he was very friendly and informative.

Just had my car serviced and as usual great treatment from Ryan, polite, courteous and good quality service. I have used this garage for 3 years now and have nothing but praise for the quality of their work. Just discovered people can book on-line services etc up to midnight and expect to get work done the next day? This is crazy! How can they manage the workload and be fair to all, including those who booked in by phone the week before? Unfair on staff,, being asked to do impossible job under great stress. Whole on line booking and review system needs a rethink!

It was the first time I had used Halfords Autocentre Manchester. I went online on Thursday and the MOT and service was done the following day. Jay on reception was helpful and friendly, and because I work in the evening, Jay said it was ok for them to store my car in the Autocentre until the following morning when I could pick it up. Did 3x MOT's there. First two were fine within an hour time. Last one with not my car took 2 hours. Mechanic was more than pedantic in searching faults banging car with screw or hammer around. In one way is good for your safety or if you want to buy a car and want to know everything. He pointed 3-4 things which since 3 years nobody at MOT pointed before, even foggy rear lights (this model came from factory with foggy lights dude). My opinion is: if you have pretty much young car then MOT will take less than an hour. If car is older than 10 years, then they will make sure to find something wrong, more than you can imagine. Polite staff and good price for an MOT and service. Some work was needed after an issue was identified during the MOT but quotation for a particular piece of work was too expensive. The market space that Halfords autocentres occupy is between the independent garages and main dealers, and in my case I chose to do the work required at an independent garage which was a bit more time consuming but came with a very good saving. Not sure of the labour costs at HA but perhaps good to have the ability to offer better prices for repair work, especially when one has already paid for service and MOT. Overral HA seem to be around 25-30% cheaper than main dealers but also 20-35% more expensive compared to independent garages and depending on the repair work. Perhaps one could accommodate the lower part of that range to save themselves from the hustle of shopping around, have the extra guarantees etc but the higher end of this difference is too much. After so many years of operation maybe its time to rethink the positioning of HA in the market space and also allow individual autocenters to offer discounts for multiple pieces of repair/ service work.
