Being stranded by the A1 in -2 was a very stressful situation but Chris was incredibly nice and made us feel at ease and was brilliant to chat to on the long way back home. Got towed home by AJK Thompson on Saturday night after waiting over 4hrs for the RAC to help. Once they finally sent the job to these guys they were here within 20mins and got me home. They also gave me the card of a recommended tyre company who were fantastic. Super helpful service, i wish the RAC had contacted them earlier in the night, but absolutely can't fault AJK Thompson and team for that.

Bit of a delayed review but Ian came to our rescue when our old campervan gave up on us during a weekend away. He found the issue and sorted it, then followed us to the local garage to make sure we got there safely. He even rang that evening to make sure we'd got to our campsite! Great service!

We were on holiday and the car developed a "clunk" the day before our 5 hour drive home. All garages in the area were busy and not able to even look at the car apart from AJKT who offered to look and diagnose but with regret could not fix (they were busy too). They saw, they sorted and they reassured (many thanks for Chris).

We were on our way up to Scotland for our first trip away in our little Campervan. But we ended up stranded at the side of the A1, with little hope for a much-needed break. An AJK Thompson truck passed us prior to the actual call-out, and pulled us around the corner (so we weren't on the main road!), and gave us some advice on potential options for when we did get our call-out. This was so so helpful, and unexpected. It turned out the another AJK Thompson driver was actually called out for us (by the AA), and this driver was also extremely helpful. We needed a clutch replacement, so it wasn't going to be a quick fix. We left the camper by the A1 and carried on up to Scotland (via Mum's vehicle) in the hope that we could at least have a few days away to relax. We didn't hold out much hope for the quick return of the camper. However, AJK Thompson managed to fix everything within the week, so we were able to have a few days at the end of the week, and take the camper home. We were so so pleased and grateful with how quick and helpful everyone that worked on this had been. The drivers were incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the mechanics clearly worked very quickly to ensure we could take our camper back home in time.

I have used this garage many times for servicing, mot’s and various car maintenance - ALWAYS friendly, knowledgeable and reasonably priced, but more than that they always go the extra mile to be super helpful. 100% trustworthy and genuine. Very lucky to have them locally.

Drove up on vacation and had our car brakes start to grind on us, pretty obvious that we need them changing, so I walked up and had a quick chat to the guy in the office. Friendly chap said it wouldn’t be a problem to switch out the discs and pads and would probably take them a couple of hours. True to their word, the work was completed and they didn’t overcharge me for the work either. If you need work doing on your vehicle, would certainly recommend giving them a try

On a Spring break far, far from home when a couple of warning lights had come on during a long journey, the team looked at the car's computer, waved a magic wand and everything was great thereafter. All this done a couple of hours after they saw us for the first time. Good humour too! Great.

Not all hero's wear capes. Most wear reflective jackets LOL! I'm unsure of his name, but the driver of the IVECO Daily recovery vehicle, basically single handedly unblocked the A697. Him and his war wounded vehicle, cleared the tree off the road. After the local mountain rescue team, literally came across us all..., before any of us started to clear the road..., They approached. Waited a couple of minutes, scratching their heads. Then mounted the marshland in their Land Rover Defender, and drove off! So the hero in the IVECO Daily, got to work, to pull the tree off the road. I was the light man. The Royal Mail HGV driver was......, Anyway. It's not about who did what to who, or who did something to help.... 🥴🥴 But bear in mind. The wind was hitting us at roughly 97 - 100 MPH! It was genuinely dangerous. But the job got done. Thank you so much for clearing the road man. I, at least, I'm very grateful. What a legend!

Late in the afternoon I turned up at with a puncture from a nail left no doubt by a careless builder on the pier. AJKT said they were very busy and said they might not be able to repair the puncture till the next day. I explained that I had to get back to London that evening. In ten minutes the puncture was fixed, my Denovo tyre checked and the repaired tyre and wheel refitted. They carefully checked the wheel nut torque as well. First rate service.

We can not believe the outstanding service we have just received off Brad and AJK Thompson. Car started cutting out and yellow warning light came on so rang AA who sent these professionals out. The coil pack went so Brad towed us to Alnwick fitted us a brand new coil pack and spark plugs and we were ready to go. All within a couple of hours....so pleased AA use these

Exceptional service - I was recently on holiday with the family in Seahouses. My heavily-laden car was grounded on a stupidly steep ramp at our holiday house - damaging an exhaust bracket and making the car horribly noisy to drive. After the bank holiday weekend this garage took in the car and gave it some percussive maintenance with a hammer to get me back on the road - and charged me . . . nothing at all for doing it. Sure, it was a simple fix but they had no need to do this for a visitor on short notice and I certainly didn't expect to have my car fixed for nothing. They just did it to be nice. I never normally post reviews but it would have been criminal of me not to recognise this generous thing to do! Juding from the number of AJK Thompson trucks on the road this seems to be a thriving business and it certainly deserves to succeed. The mechanic I spoke to and the lady in reception were brilliant. Thanks very much, we really appreciated it.

I received amazing service this morning from recovery service after my rear tyre went near Alnwick. They arrived within 5 minutes, put car on their trailer, drove me to kwik fit in Berwick to drop my car off for new tyre before taking me to work in Berwick! I am so grateful to you for the excelllent customer service, I think your colleague was called Callum, he deserves recognition & afterwards felt bad for not giving him a tip as he very much deserved it! We came to sea houses Friday with an engine fault. On Monday morning I called into the garage in need of help. Within one day they had it fixed. A very friendly garage, thank you again

Our group of four people had a breakdown with our car in the middle of nowhere and due to some communication problems between ADAC (german automobile association) and the AA we had to wait about 9 hours for recovery of our car. All of us where really, really down with broken nerves after that long time (not many food, drinks, no toilet, it‘s going dark and cold...). But then, they send us Chris („the doctor is here“)! That was the best which could happen on that night. He understands how to get our mood back to smile in a very short time with his cheerful and kind nature. He animates us to sing during the ride and show us some nice points on the road (England/Scotland border point of view for example). We received a very great support and if we should ever get in such trouble again we will ask especially for Chris as the driver! Thanks, Doc with the minions and best wishes from Germany (we had to get back earlier because it was uneconomic to repair the car and we have to scrap it in Edinburgh :-()

My sister, brother-in-law and I were travelling to Seahouses for a week's holiday on Sunday 17th September, in a BMW, when a warning light came up on the dashboard and the car lost a bit of power. We arrived in Seahouses, and my sister immediately rang her insurance company, Admiral, as they'd arranged breakdown cover. The lady was very reassuring, and the mechanic from AJK Thompson arrived within about 20 minutes. He soon diagnosed the problem, and said a new part was required which he would get the following day. My brother-in-law took the car to AJK Thompson's garage the following morning, and had a phone call at 12 noon to say the car was ready. He went along, paid a very reasonable amount for the work, and the car was fine for the rest of the holiday, doing about 400 miles. We were all delighted that there was minimal disruption to our holiday, and all the staff at AJK were very polite and efficient. Well done AJK Thompson.

On holiday but had to do an MOT because we're travelling abroad directly from here and it was going to expire. I didn't realise until it was too late, so couldn't use my local garage (in Sheffield). Found this place on the internet after reading a few reviews for various garages. You know how it is with garages - difficult to know whether they're going to 'find' things wrong that need fixing unless you know them properly. I needn't have worried. They were friendly, helpful, chatty and down to earth. The car failed, but I was aware of the problem (I know my way around the car) and they fixed it the next day. Their charges were reasonable. Honestly, it couldn't have been better. The people nearby are lucky to have this garage as their local one.

On Wednesday 13/11/19 I mounted the pavement in Longframlington. Rang RAC who quoted me 3/4 hrs recoveryat 12:15. I got a phone call from Thompson’s saying he would be 10 mins. However RAC had given him wrong info and he drove to Acklington. Chris Arrived at 3pm full of apologies and also explained they had just got the phone call from RAC at 1:25! So Thompson’s we’re prompt once they got the right address and Chris the mechanic was so helpful. Picked up at 3 new tyre on and mobile again by 3pm. Thank you 👍👍👍👍

This place is also a one stop calor shop for the area;not only can you get calor gas propane/butane refills but you can get mobileheaters cookers bbqs patioheaters calor gas fixed home fires blowtorches etc plus the gas tubing/accessories regulators and other calor gas ancilliaries etc that you need. You can also get your calor gas appliances serviced/repaired here as it is a gas safe registered calor servicing agent.
