Needed some quick advice on my daughter's very old car so called in and received a very warm and friendly welcome. My stupidity in not checking the basics was dealt with in a very light-hearted and professional way. They quickly sorted the problem, refused to take any money (probably felt sorry for me!) and sent us on our way. You don't get service or attitude as good as that very often these days. Great garage which I will definitely be using again. Highly recommended!!

Great communication, hassle free, more than reasonable prices and friendly people! Dissalutioned by my local Audi dealer I phoned these guys. I cannot recommend Slaters too highly. My local Citroen dealer in Normandy had told me that my C4GP needed a new gearbox, at a cost of around € 6,000. Slaters provided friendly and helpful advice over the phone, and based on their obvious specialist experience and confidence, I brought the car to the UK. They gave me a loan vehicle whilst they rebuilt the Citroen gearbox, and guaranteed a ‘not to be exceeded’ price for the work, which amounted to only half what the French dealer had quoted. I now have an ‘as new’ gearbox which is working perfectly (and silently!), and with a long warranty. Tellingly, Slaters not only completed the repairs ahead of schedule, but also charged me less than their estimate. Business ethics like that are all too rare in the UK these days. Gearbox issues? Don’t hesitate – go straight to Slaters!

After a tip off from someone on the school run, I've had cars serviced here three times. Great staff: helpful, polite and welcoming. Better prices than the big garages in town and if you live nearby, they'll drop your car off, when it's all done. What's not to like! :-)

I was recommended to this guy by an Audi specialist in Leeds after searching for a good Audi independent technicians for some time. My Audi Q5 was jecking from 2nd to 1st gear, then on reverse gear also. So i dropped my car there because i live in Leeds. Paul rang me up the following day in the afternoon and told me my was ready for collection and problem solved. The car drive now like brand new. I was even thinking of selling it, Not anymore!!!

The level of service I have recived on the few times I have used them has been absolutely superb and great value at the same time. If you are having problems with a dsg or S-tonic system use these guys forget the rest!!

I learnt about Slaters Garage ltd after having electrical issues with my Audi A3 automatic. Initially the AA recovered me to fault find the issues to be terminal and recommended Audi dealership to fix. After the car was diagnosed by a second independent the results were the same, the Metatronic unit on the gearbox was faulty. Audi in Nottingham were asked to rectify this but requested they diagnose independently at a cost of £140. 4 days later Nottingham Audi returned the call to say the fault was infact the gearbox and not the Metatronic unit, Audi then quoted £5k plus labour to fix this issue. The car was then taken to Slaters and re diagnosed for the fourth time, and a new Metatronic unit was fitted at a fraction of the cost compared to Nottingham Audi, and 5 weeks on the car is running fantastic. A great customer care based experience from Slaters Garage.

Disaster, the 5th gear went on my Honda Jazz, panicking, I shopped around to get it fixed, from a trawl of the web and reading other peoples stories I quickly realised the odds on getting stung with a high bill or worse, ripped-off were pretty high, fortunately a mate put me onto Slaters Garage in Stanton-on-the-Wolds, they asked what had happened, then told me what was wrong with it and quoted a fixed price, collected the car, called me say it was ready when they said they would and apart from a slight problem which they fixed immediately, the bill was exactly what they said it would be and included a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty. Would I recomend Slaters Garage, I certainly would - Mike Pickles, Ruddington

Brought a volkswagen passat with Dsg problems as it was jerking in 1st and reverse, after shopping around with nearly every garage saying it was different things 1st call to slaters after explaining the problem to them paul the mechanic knew the problem straight away explained the precedure to fix the problem gave a fixed price well below other garages and the car was repaired in 24 hours with no problems, and now the car runs like a dream would highly recommend these guys fantastic service *****
