Magdalen Motors is where my search ends for a complete & trustworthy garage for my car. Saeed is very honest & amazing person. Explain every problem of my car in detail and taught me many important things about car maintenance. Try his best to repair & fix issues keeping in mind the safety rather than changing whole part right away. He stayed late to finish my car works to deliver my car before time. My visit was affordable as well. Will recommend this garage absolutely 100%.

I am not sure five stars is enough to recommend Saeed at Magdalen Motors! I would give him triple that because it has been a very long time since I have met someone so honest and kind and not sure I have ever met a car mechanic who combines those qualities - a sad reflection of our world that these are such a rare find. I contacted Saeed on the basis of the Google reviews which has prompted me to write my own as they are all true and genuine! I had been dealing with issues related to my very old but still functional VW Golf and needed an independent and honest assessment of the car. After an internet search, I came across his repair shop and the reviews here as well as the fewer ones on yell and the one on TrustPilot. Saeed is a retired auto mechanic who has 42 years of experience repairing and servicing VW and a few other makes professionally. When he retired, he opened up this unassuming (externally) establishment on Magdalen Road which anyone with a car in Oxford should be using! I first spoke to him on Monday (11/01/21) and explained what I needed. He outlined a couple of options with extremely reasonable pricing and we made an appointment for the next morning (yesterday). I had spent several weeks over the holiday period worrying about the car as I had recently acquired some information as to its mechanical condition which I did not know when bought early last year. Saeed spent almost two hours doing a pre-MOT inspection and explaining his findings to me as well as giving me a list of all my options and a written list of all the findings. He provided me with peace of mind about the car, saved me from failing my upcoming MOT, suggested the best and most cost-effective way of dealing with the issues even though it would not involve any financial gain on his part, and even more amazingly, was willing to let me walk out and rely on me making a bank transfer to his account as I had no cash on me (I insisted on going to an ATM and getting the cash on the spot but wow, this has never happened to me before and I was seriously impressed!). All this is to say that, as long as he's around, I am never taking this car or any other car I might own elsewhere and it is a crying shame that he is not kept busy constantly. While he cannot perform an MOT on-site and cannot deal with some of the newest software car issues, for a modest cost he will take your car for an MOT and return it to you or advise you where to repair anything that he can't. If you want indifferent and below-average car repairs and service, there are plenty of soulless and dishonest places to choose from in Oxford and surroundings. If, like me, you want reliability, honesty, friendliness, humanity, then you will only ever bring your car to Magdalen Motors and allow Saeed to work his magic on you (and your car)!

Excellent garage providing high quality work at very reasonable prices. I brought my car here when it needed extensive work; my usual garage had quoted a huge cost and I chosen Magdalen Road Motors instead because it was easily the best of three other quotes I obtained. Brilliant service - taking my car to get an oil leak looked at was actually an enjoyable experience! Saeed is knowledgeable and friendly. I was worried there was something wrong with my car because of unfamiliar noises and a weird feeling driving it after it had not been driven much during lockdown! Saeed was really nice about it, coming out for a drive to see what might be wrong, then taking a look underneath and showing me how all the different components were looking fine, just to put my mind at rest! Run by a very friendly semi-retired guy called Saiid. Offered me some good advice on the best place for fixing the clutch on my VW Golf. He was honest and said it was a job he could do, but as it was only him he suggested a place down the road. He specialises in doing pre-examination and repairs to ensure car passes MOT (MOT not done on site).
