The CV boot on my Peugeot 407 had split and 2 other garages I'd tried were wary of touching a French Suspension. Oxford Car Service Centre have the knowledge and expertise so this was literally plain sailing for them and I got two front tyres fitted too. Great service, very reasonable price plus helpful knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.

I don’t usually leave reviews but they were great. My power steering was completely broken for a while, after trying countless places around Oxford, I rang them up and they promptly organised a booking to have a look at my car. After they received the needed part, I brought my car in the morning and got it back in the evening the same day. I called this gauge about starting issue with my car and the conversion was great. They have arranged for me to drop the car at the gauge to be repaired. Previous gauges said the issue with the car was clutch but after diagnostics by Oxford Car Service it turns out that the issue is not the clutch. Car is repaired and now starts with no issue. This is awesome and I will definitely recommend The Oxford Car Service Centre.

Go here for yearly service, in and out in one day. Great attention to detail and always give a list of parts that need attention. Haven't had anything they couldn't fix or diagnose including engine warning light for crank angle sensor, turned away by other shops. Very friendly customer sevice with reception having an in depth knowledge of vehicles as well, not just back of house mechanics. Next to very good MOT as well, convenient. Only down side is they are about 10 to 15% more expensive then other average mechanics around Oxford but well worth the extra pennies.

I have been sending my cars to French and Italian for at least a decade maybe even 15 years. I have the highest opinion of the company, all the people who work there and the boss, Brian. They always do a good job at a fair price and will seek out budget alternatives when the likely bill looks a bit steep. Everyone from Shane at the front desk to the gang in the garage are very good and enjoyable people to deal with. The team here are also a good source for advice regarding automotive plans. I would always recommend this independent, owner operated business to anyone. Well done French and Italian. 20.11.21 Still think the place is great. Recommend with full confidence. I have been coming here for well over two years now and I have never been disappointed! Big or small, all the repairs or services have been to a high standard at a reasonable cost and in a friendly and efficient way. Communication is excellent; the price quoted is the price you will pay. Today was no exception. My family car needed its MOT: it failed, no surprise as it an older (but much loved) car. Shane made sure that what was needed was done during the afternoon and I duly collected the car, complete with a new MOT. These guys are highly rated, the best garage in Oxford by far! They can seem to fix any problem you have with a car and the work are done quickly and professionally. Very nice and friendly team and the prices are reasonable too. i had a fault with my passenger airbag light showing on the dashboard for over 2 years. They took my car in and repaired it and touch wood, the light has not come back since.

They quoted me a price which I thought was reasonable but then called me later to say it had worked out cheaper because I hadn't actually needed the whole suspension replaced. Thank you very much to all that helped me today with my rear light issue. Turned up this afternoon without an appointment as my rear right hand lights had stopped working and I was getting various error codes. The guy on reception was helpful; he got a mechanic to look at the issue straight away. The mechanic was thorough in checking the issue and found the problem quickly and rectified it there and then & fixed it so my lights worked. He was very polite and friendly and sorted things out quickly for me. The charge for sorting out the issue was very reasonable and I am really grateful for the service I received. I will use this garage in the future and highly recommend it. Again thank you so much!!

EXCELLENT service - thank you. Another garage had diagnosed my Fiat 500 as needing the head gasket replacing (more than £850!) a job that was too big for them, so I gave the French and Italian Car Centre a call. I booked my car in and was very pleased when Shane and his team rang me with the good news that following their testing, actually I just needed the housing replaced on my thermostat which was leaking, a job that cost less than £250. Not knowing anything about cars, they could easily have charged me much more but were honest, efficient and very reasonably priced. Thank you so much!

Very helpful and honest. I had my car booked in with these guys for a fault on my brakes. The car was just out of manufacturers warranty. Instead of trying to get the work, they told me to call customer services and demand it was fixed for free outside the warranty. This worked but obviously meant no work for this garage. So thanks very much and i intend to use your garage in the future.

The French & Italian Car Centre was the only place in Oxford that we could find to work on our automatic transmission when it stopped shifting into gear. The staff were very good communicators and clearly explained the issues with our transmission after diagnosing the fault. Despite the team's best efforts, the transmission wasn't ultimately worth fixing given the value of the car, and so we decided to scrap the car. The staff then were supportive in helping us to carry out the administration around this task, which we appreciated during a stressful time. We would definitely bring our (new) car here for future service.

I have been using these guys for over 10 years with my old Renault and now, newer Peugeot (though have recommended them to numerous friends with vehicles spanning a variety of makes, models and ages). They are very professional, super efficient and always friendly; I have never had any cause for complaint of any kind. They always shop around for the best price of any part, are completely approachable when I ask silly questions and always keep me 'in the loop' enabling me to make an informed decision as to (and when) work required. *****Highly recommended***** If only all businesses adopted the ethos of this one.

Always helpful. Never feel like they are out to get you or your money. We stupidly took our car to Cornwall and back, she was quite broken and unhappy. We called and they said they were fully booked but that we could bring her in. When we arrived there, they were in fact the busiest I've seen them with their parking lot full of cars. I used this garage on the recommendation of Cowley Road MOT's (who were also great value), I had never used an Oxford garage before as am not from Oxford originally and as a result was slightly sceptical. However, I was completely wrong, their service took just over 24 hrs as opposed to 3 days and additionally they're initial quote was £450 and it ended up being £110 cheaper than this. Would definitely use again for my Peaugeot 107.

Couldn't recommend more! Went in to the place next door Friday evening for an MOT (also couldn't recommend them higher too). My car badly failed (was expected). Popped over to the car centre and they agreed to fix the car on the Tuesday, sorted everything and took it back to be MOT'd again. These guys seem very good. I had my dead Renault Megane taken there after it blew up on the motorway! They know seemed familiar with the problem, and gave very helpful advice and got quotes so that i could decide whether to repair it or sell it. Not pushy, just genuinely polite and helpful. I saved 45% on repair costs, saving me at least £345.12! Toyota Inchcape Oxford recommended repairs estimated at £1,399.62 (£1,259.66 with a 10% discount on their service plan) after the 90,000 miles / 9 years intermediate service for my 2004 Toyota Yaris. French & Italian spent 15 minutes taking a look at my car first thing on a Saturday morning and recommended repairs that cost me £427.65 in total, which they completed by 15:00 the following Monday. Some of the recommendations Toyota Inchcape made were unnecessary "advisory" repairs. To get exactly the same repairs done by Toyota would have cost £858.63 (£772.77 with 10% off). French & Italian's advice about what repairs were actually necessary was invaluable and helped me to rationalize my decision. French & Italian's labour costs are £55/hour, about half the cost of franchise dealers like Toyota Inchcape. I used a courtesy car (Citroen Xsara Picasso Estate 1.6i LX 5dr), which was a bit messy inside, didn't have any windscreen washer fluid and the left front side light didn't work. I'd thoroughly recommend using French & Italian to get a second opinion if your franchise dealer's repair costs seem too expensive. I may even switch to using them for my service, MOT and repairs from now on.
