I enquired about revamping the whole sound system in my car. I was given a few different options which I could consider based on my budget. I ended up having new front and rear speakers plus a subwoofer in the boot. We were quite quickly able to arrange a day for fitting, and they did an excellent job. A couple of weeks later I upgraded my stereo as well as I didn’t want to limit the potential of the new equipment. It took about a week to order in all of the parts, and fitting was booked for just a few days later. I have no real appreciation for how fiddly these things can be, but the labour costs seemed reflective of the amount of work I had done. All of our communication was done via email with Covid in mind. Email responses were generally prompt, although this does of course depend on whether anyone was in the office. Very pleased overall, if anyone is looking for this sort of job, I would definitely recommend.

I contacted 6 different companies about my Japanese import and gave them all the same requirements and 4 of them either didn't reply or just took a sharp intake of breath and said there was nothing they could do. One other came back with a cost that was a 1/4 of the cost of the car which was not something i was expecting. Andrew from Plymouth Car Sounds emailed me back with a very affordable solution and wasn't put off that it was an import. I traveled over 3 hours to get there on a Saturday morning and i'm glad i made the effort. His installation team worked wonders on my car, having to work out what everything was as they hadn't seen my car before. The job was delivered to a very high standard and i came away very happy that i got exactly what i asked for. Andrew and his team are not afraid to tackle something just because its difficult. I arrived, the staff welcomed me in and told me how long the job would take and informed me if it was done quicker they would ring me. 2.5hrs later I received a phone call to say the job was done and I could collect my car. I have been using Plymouth Car Sounds for as long as I can remember and don’t have a bad word to say about them. Firstly the staff are incredible, always happy and very willing to help with pretty much anything they can even if it is just asking advice. There prices are very reasonable and a lot cheaper than there competition. If good staff and prices weren’t enough though they also stock pretty much anything you could need so rarely walk out there empty handed and their fitters are highly experienced and take pride in there work. I have had a several full sound systems fitted by them and I prefer the ‘stock look’ which is exactly what they gave me whereas lots of places I have been too previously have left wires poking out from beneath trims, controllers bolted onto your dash and so on. Thank you all for many years of great service and many more to come!

Had a new car stereo system, with extra speakers, fitted to my Sprinter, plus a couple of extra electrical items that I needed doing. Emma gave me a price for completing everything, which I thought, given the amount of work that needed doing, was very reasonable. The work went ahead as planned but ran into a few problems meaning that I had to pick the vehicle up the next day. Not a problem for me and when I asked how much more I owed for the extra time I was told there wouldn't be any extra charges as the price had already been agreed. Wow, someone in the retail trade who keeps to their word, I was very pleasantly surprised. So in short, which I should have said at the beginning, Excellent work, excellent customer service along with great prices, what more could you ask for. My thanks to everyone at PCS for the tidy work completed but especially Emma who dealt with this decrepit, disabled old man with nothing but patience, understanding and kindness. Highly recommended.

I would like recommend the outstanding service we received at Plymouth Car Sound. We had a complex intermittent fault on our Peugeot Motorhome windscreen wipers. PCS took great care in diagnosing the fault and fitting the parts required to repair it. The service was very prompt, we were kept well informed on progress and charged a very reasonable price for the end. The stereo on our motorhome developed a terminal fault. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They provided us with a quote but explained that there may be extra expenses in the fitting. We agreed to the quote and found the final bill matched the original quote. The fitter took about half an hour to show us how to use the unit and set it up to our requirements. I would certainly use PCS again and recommend them to my friends.

I cannot recommend PCS highly enough. I found the whole team to be professional, knowledgable, informative and thoroughly excellent in every aspect. I had been disappointed to find the stereo in my recently purchased second hand mini not working. I found Plymouth Car Sound online and decided to try them and find out the problem. As soon as I rang they told me to bring the car in that day. After investigation it turned out the job to fix the stereo was not a simple one and the staff here went above and beyond the call of duty to try and locate a replacement amplifier for me. I was kept well informed of every detail of what was going on and in the end I decided to go for the whole lot to be replaced. Rewire, new stereo, speakers etc. I am so glad I did as I am thrilled with the result, and at least I know it’s all working ok. The stereo is great and sounds brilliant and the work was complete in a day. I am over the moon with it all and really glad I found this place. Emma in the shop is a real asset too she is charming, professional, honest, nice to talk to and really knows her stuff. I would not hesitate to use PCS again in the future. Thank you for everything!

Having had a new radio and front speakers fitted by Plymouth Car Sound a year ago I was very impressed with the service. Unfortunately I still wasn’t happy with the sound which tended to be drowned by road noise. Andy and Emma were genuinely apologetic and talked through my options with me. Rather than trying to sell me more expensive speaker upgrades they suggested fitting sound-deadening mats in the doors. I must admit I was dubious but we gave it a go - at a very small cost my listening experience has been transformed and the speakers I had fitted now sound amazing! I since have had other work carried out including a reversing camera fitted and a complicated problem fixed with a vehicle alarm. At every stage I have been very impressed with the way that my requirements are listened to, friendly and knowledgable advice given, and most of all I’ve been kept informed at every stage about what steps are being taken and any costs which might be involved. First of all I would like to say a big thank you to Andy and his team for recommending and fitting a new audio system into my old VW van, at last bringing it up to date. The sound is fantastic, the installation very good and communication was friendly and polite making this an enjoyable experience throughout. Secondly, I would like to say the above was completed to an agreed yet tight timescale and, although it went to the wire due to a delay in logistics I believe, PCS stuck to their word and completed the work on time. Thirdly, having read previous reviews prior to visiting PCS, I was a little unsure as I felt the business response to poor reviews, whilst providing their point of view, had a slightly combative undertone! However, soon after meeting Andy whose easy manor, gentle advice and no pressure approach to business, any fears I may have had, evaporated. The adage ' you can not please everybody all of the time' springs to mind: All you can do is your best in these circumstances and try and be courteous, at all times. I had an electrical problem on my van which was intermittent a couple of people looked at it without success, I then took the van and it Limped into Plymouth car sounds , Andy pursued the problem making many phone calls to vauxhall and spending lots of time and effort to come up with the exact problem , they then stripped out the problem part to be rectified, on return they then refitted part and the van is working great not a flicker . we all know electric intermittent faults on vehicles are and can be a nightmare to pinpoint . We recently had a Cat1 alarm immobiliser fitted at PCS, they went out of their way to accommodate us for the fitting in order to comply with the insurance company requirements, gave us an estimate of the time for the job and even finished an hour early. Well where to start. Firstly I had a quotation from these guys some time ago and decided they were a tad too expensive so used a mobile service. O how upset I was when the van came back facias not sitting right and ... any way I came back to these guys ( almost cap in hand ) and they were still pleased to see me we talked about my requirements I wanted my van to sound perfectly clear with loads of depth. I was thinking amps etc. The guys suggested I spend some more money on top quality speakers. And then if I wasn’t happy we amp it later ( prob saving me £800-£900.) and when I heard the van being sound tested in the garage me and emma both smiled. The nice thing then they brought the van around and the technician talked me through what they had done. What a professional service. Guys a massive heart felt thank you.
