These guys are HONEST. A ‘main dealer’ garage (one of the expensive German ones) said that I likely needed a new transfer box. Didn’t fancy paying their rates (more than my car was worth) so I contacted 3D who quoted reasonably for a transfer box rebuild. However what they did say, was that they wouldn’t carry out any work that didn’t need doing. After carrying out diagnostics it turns out all I needed was matching tyres on all 4 corners and transfer box oil change (which they did for me). As I mentioned, honest bunch of guys and it no surprise that they have built their business on reputation. Thanks 3D

I took my Mercedes to my local Garage after a warning light became illuminated on the dashboard and it didn't change gear correctly. They couldn't determine what was wrong and suggested that I take it to an Automatic Transmission Specialist. I went home and searched the internet, found 3D Automatic Transmissions and called them. They suggested that I take my Mercedes there for them to diagnose and repair. The next day I travelled to their workshops. I waited in reception while a Technician conducted some diagnostic tests. After less than 30 minutes the problem had been diagnosed. An electrical sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. They located the part, had it delivered and fitted it all in less than half a day. My transmission is working perfectly again. I cannot recommend 3D Automatic Transmissions enough. The courtesy, professionalism, and experience of this team is exceptional! Thank You all!

I have just collected my car from 3D. It had a transmission warning light which my regular garage were unable to diagnose. They recommended 3D to me. As a single woman , I always fear that i may be ripped off by unscrupulous tradespeople, blinding me with long words I don't understand. I found the opposite with 3d who went to great lengths to explain the issues and costs and help me make an informed decision. I feel the price I was given was fair and they didn't charge for the petrol they put in so that they could test my car to ensure the repair had been successful. 3D were recommended as being expert in fixing Ford's troublesome Powershift automatic transmissions. Our Smax (just done over 72k miles) would only work in 'limp' mode, so had given up the ghost. Spoke with Alex from 3D, he arranged for recovery and said they could look at things within a day or 2. He'd called within a couple of hours after the car was recovered and gave us the news! Its not cheap to rebuild a transmission (think 000s) but compared to a main dealer it was a good price. The repair tool a while longer than hoped (problem with parts supply) but overall we've been v. pleased with the service - they found a way to cover the cost of our having to find alternative transport, so that was good. The work is warrantied for a good period, which is reassuring for car with known design issues, that Ford weren't interested in. Only feedback would be perhaps keeping us up to date a bit more - felt we had to call to find out, but overall service with good. Would definitely recommend. Thanks very much 3D.

I was recommended this company via our local garage as I was informed that they may be able to fix my transmission. We had made other inquiries elsewhere and we were informed it had to be a new transmission via other specialists. After a brief road test we agreed to the price (which was better than the quotes we received previously!) and the work commenced. A week later we picked up our car and our transmission was as good as new. Five stars well deserved! Would Recommend!

3D did an excellent job of changing the gearbox on my Nissan Qashqai. Their service was professional and at a price significantly lower than the main dealer. 3 months on and no issues. Had a "Check Auto Gearbox" message come up on my 2013 Renault Megane. Car lurched when changing gear and took time to change. I discovered 3D Transmissions and booked in the car for investigation. The guys at 3D were brilliant. In no time they found the TCM module was faulty and also the clutch assembly needed replacing. I had the car covered by an extended warranty company and the guys did all the work in contacting them and arranging the best possible outcome for me. I was recommended to 3D by a friend who had his car Repaired by them. I took my Ford mondeo into them with auto gearbox problems. Fords wanted a fortune to repair it. They repaired my car for less than half of fords quoted price and I took it in to them on a Monday and collected it fully repaired first thing Thursday morning! I was referred to 3D transmissions by my usual service station as they were the gearbox specialist, I contacted them they picked up my car and diagnosed the problem and quoted within days, the job took 4 days to do with a recon box and new cooling system on my Seat, but it took my warranty company 3 weeks to sort themselves out. 3D did all the liaison, which was a wide up for me and them, finally sorted and the car is spot on, they were courteous and easy to deal with even in the face of adversity of the warranty co. Tip here is to get a warranty that is easy to deal with and lets the mechanics do their job. Will be going back for a service next year, thank you

Clutch went whilst driving to work on Wednesday. Breakdown company came out to me, and recommended I take it to 3D Transmissions as it was local and the driver said he'd taken other vehicles there for similar issues. Brilliant service from the guys at 3D Transmissions. Very friendly and efficient. They recovered my ruined Fiat Bravo and reconditioned the blown apart gearbox in about 2 days. The price was reasonable, they even offered a payment plan when I said I might have to wait a while to get it fixed. So far the car is performing just fine. I would definitely recommend and will be going back if ever I have more gearbox issues. (But they've done a marvelous job, so I doubt I'll need to!)

Review From A Petrol Head I know a bit but not a lot about cars. Audi s5, gearbox problem, i'd hoped i had worked out the problem but my gearbox knowledge is 0 so thought a specialist was the only way to go. I took it in, Manual Mike immediately greeted me and we went out on the road to try and localize the problem. Mike diagnosed what i had hoped but said he needed to properly examine to be certain. I booked the car in for next week and left for the weekend, no charge. Brilliant. I dropped my car off on Monday morning and started biting my nails... Called Tuesday afternoon expecting the worst but the bill was actually very small 'just a bolt'. I could not be happier, a lot of mechanics could and would of taken advantage of my limited knowledge and got to work replacing things that didn't need doing or even just sticking a couple of extra labor hours on top to make themselves nice round figure. These guys didn't. The bottom line is you can trust these guys, they are experts and although i hope to never have to go back, i would certainly use them again for anything transmission related. I will also be recommending to friends.

You know when you take your care to DARE that they are not just going to tell you there are a bunch of things that need to be fixed just to make money. Had taken my Audi A3 for automatic transmission failure repair at Audi dealer. Audi technicians had a look and gave me a bill of around £9000 which meant a new mechatronics and automatic gearbox. Started giving me sleepless nights for a week thinking of how to arrange this money for fixing the car. Then based on recommendation from local garages, I got the car transported from Audi service centre to 3D Transmissions. The technicians at 3D Transmission found the fault and fixed the issue for mere £85 + vat. Absolutely unbelievable !!!! Many many thanks to Alex and his team for handing it so well. Having had a car diagnosed by one of the manufacturer's main dealers, the result being that their recommendation of the cheapest option is either an automatic box rebuild or a complete transmission replacement. Since their estimated cost was in the region of £3500 I decided on a second opinion, research on the web took me to 3d Transmissions. Although some 50 miles away I found is was certainly worth the trip. Within 2 days I was advised by 3D that it probably only required a sensor at a cost of approx £380 fitted (some 12% of main dealer's quote). The sensor was fitted and indeed that was all that was required. All the staff were very courteous and were able to give updates as to progress of the repair. I talked to the Technician Rob who I found to be very helpful in explaining the original problem. Well done to the whole team.

Using partners account as I don't have a google email and never leave reviews. Alex and the team not only fixed my transmission but also fixed a blowing exhaust and some very shoddy work done by another garage who fitted my car for new brake lines 2 months ago, (despite my paying the shoddy garage a decent amount of money for the lines). 3D Transmissions did all of this extra work in the face of an angry me and free of charge, showing me exactly what the other garage had failed to do. I cannot thank them enough, please know you guys, I have the worst luck with cars and have spent the minimum of £1,000 a year, for 17 years on them. What you have done for me today has not only provided me with a much needed break but also restored my faith in humanity a little. Thank you.

If you want skilled technicians who will cost effectively repair your car to the best of their ability then try 3D Transmissions. My vehicle had a problem that did not show up in the workshop or test drives, when it finally did, the system warnings indicated the symptoms not the problem. 3D Transmissions solved the problem and using original parts got me back on the road at a cost I know was less than half if not a third of the Dealers cost. My dealer told me that the rattle I was experiencing on my car was coming from the automatic gearbox and I would need it replacing at a cost of £5500 which was more than the car was worth . My husband decided to see if we could get it repaired more cheaply and having had a reasonable quote from 3D transmissions we took it along for them to check how much work was required. After a short drive and one of their mechanics looking at it they discovered the reason for the rattle. The exhaust was knocking against the tow bar fixings. A trip to my local exhaust centre sorted the problem with the bent bracket Hey ho no rattle Thank you 3D transmissions for saving me a fortune It definitely pays to go to a specialist !!
