Fronts seats on an Audi A3 are pretty tricky with the grooves on the base and back to reinstate.
Fear not, apart from the little button(s) on the side of the seat(s) you wouldn't know the seats have been taken apart.
I'm very pleased with the job and now we have lovely warm backs & b*ms

All controls explained very well .A little issue with DAB was resolved without any fuss . John Kleis Car Audio is what I call a proper first class company.
The customer experience and interaction with the staff is literally second to none. I was recommended to John Kleis by Pandora Alarm Systems. I already had a first generation Pandora Alarm which gave me problems from day one. So I was reluctant to install a Pandora Alarm System again until I met Max at John Kleis. What a guy, so friendly, so personable, so knowledgeable and very professional in every aspect. He advised me to not ditch Pandora and to have their new Elite V2 range. At first, I was naturally sceptical. But after talking with Max extensively, I decided to stick with Pandora. Max kept my car for a whole week to make sure that after the installation, they could monitor the system for a few days to make sure that it was functioning correctly before hand over (no rushing to get the car in and out). When I went to collect the car, Max must have spent a good hour and a half with me explaining in depth how the fob, the APP and the actual alarm settings in great details. Amazing customer service.
When I got the car home, I have tested the system for 14 days straight. I left the car alarmed for 7 days with no false alarm or battery drain (amazing). Everything is working as promised. It made me feel that I was driving a new car. I have to say, it was nice to know that my car was worked on my petrol heads(these guys know what they are doing).
Max, the installers and the entire team are incredibly professional and friendly. They have left me100% totally and completely satisfied. I feel like I have friends at John Kleis. All my future in car security and entertainment will go to Max and John Kleis. And bear in mind that it is a 2 hr drive for me to get there from London.
Finally, a big personal thank you to Max for advising me to stick with Pandora and sharing his own personal experience with me. My faith has been totally restored in Pandora Alarm Systems. The teams at John Kleis, you are all top notch. Thank you so much for a wonderful customer experience.

D. D.I recently bought a Thinkware U1000 dual camera dashcam, memeory card and iVolt battery from them. I had the battery hardwired to the car as it is the quickest way to charge the battery. The staff are really SUPER helpful and the quality of the work and attitude of the technicians is simply SUBLIME!! We need to support these types of local small businesses.
M. M.Living in Newbury I couldn’t find a local installer so did a bit of research to make sure I found a trustworthy and knowledgeable company worth travelling for. From the outset and during the initial consultation I was impressed with the experience and expertise of the team. I went in asking them to replace all of the stock speakers in my TTS to be told they were fine and for me to channel my money more effectively into a subwoofer to maximise bang for my buck. I also got a rear view camera fitted which looks like it’s come from the factory, neatly fitted and cost less than I thought. Really impressed with the results, car sounds great and really delivers more than the results I was hoping for. Feel I was offered great advice, wasn’t mid-sold and the quality of workmanship from Max and Lee was top notch.

C. B.Absolutely outstanding customer service from all the staff there. I went to buy a head unit and I was treated brilliantly, everything was demonstrated and together we worked out what would best work with my car.
There's been a few issues with the unit, but having taken the car back to them, ( it turns out the problem is with the car and not the unit) in each instance they've helped me out and sorted the issue, explaining it to me like a grown up instead of a woman who has no idea how it all works.
Because of that I won't be considering anyone else for any of my car audio needs in the future.

Excellent product, brilliant service and super friendly staff.
Just have my car fitted with a set of front-and-rear dash cam at John Kleis this week.
Staff clearly explain how the fitting works would be done by demo their own cars before I buy the item, follow by a detailed tutorial on how to use it after the installation. I don’t even need to go on the manual for the set up. Very nice!
Excellent craft also. Perfect and nearly invisible wiring. Wonderful!
No hesitation to find them again for my next upgrades in the future.

G. B.I never got around to my system because my car was written off. I heard the demo M135i with the full set-up and it was nothing short of breathtaking. Every detail. Every note. So accurately processed and staged with the Audison set. It had me convinced to go from a simple Audison active sub in the boot to an all out active set-up. Staff were friendly. Responsive to emails with questions. Seemed like a well organised place. Knowledgeable staff. Demo car was a tidy install. What could have been… now I’m down to a C class and the Burmester is okay but it’s a company car due to go back. Still haven’t decided what car to get myself (company one is for business use only) but if it needs the audio sorting this is the first place I’d go.

A. M.I have a '12 Ford S-Max which had the standard Ford MP3 CD player fitted and the only Bluetooth connectivity within the car was for the telephone. While the stereo worked fine, I'd changed from a vehicle which had DAB, Bluetooth phone and audio installed and was keen to have a similar set up in this car.
The chap I spoke to initially had a look at my car and made his recommendation for a Kenwood DAB stereo which was also compatible with Android Auto and, after paying a small deposit, an appointment was made to have the system installed.
John Kleis had my vehicle for just over 6 hours and I cannot rave enough about the job they've done - the wires are well hidden, the stereo fits within the dashboard perfectly and their staff also did a handover to show how to set everything up.
I cannot recommend the guys enough - professional, courteous, knowledgeable and not horrendously over priced like some other places.

S. G.I went in the shop and met Max. I was having connectivity issues with my iphone and Bluetooth of the car. I thought I needed additional software so that my new phone can connect to the car's Bluetooth. Max fixed the issue within 2 minutes .
There was no charge for the advise though I was impressed his knowledge and politeness.
S. N.All of the guys at John Kleis really know their craft, and more importantly they're all car guys who live and breathe what they do. The majority of the staff cars have had extensive audio systems / dash cams / security fitted. I entrusted my less than 1 week old M2 competition to them to fit a secondary immobiliser and the work was carried out with great care. I subsequently went back to them a couple weeks later to have dual dash cams fitted and routed through my car, along with a battery back-up. You would never have known trim needed removing and everything was handled professionally from start to finish, including answering all my questions! There really isn't a better place to go for your aftermarket needs.

Just fitted an Apple Car play head unit to my Nissan Qashqai and the 360 camera systems still works like factory - The instal and new surround look OEM as well. Ask for Connor - there is nothing he doesn't know about In Car Entertainment!

Staff were totally on point, helpful, knowledgeable and explained lots of options for me to choose from to improve the stereo, sound system in my van , also explaining everything in full detail via email . The van was given back to me very tidy and it was all fitted as if it was standard . I will also have to mention they were very carful carrying out the works during the covid outbreak and thoroughly sanitised everything after instalments .

A. J.THE REAL DEAL - So I had my first ever 'proper' car stereo fitted by John and his team when I was at university at Reading in 1993! I returned recently aged 48 to have another stereo fitted. I traveled a 270 mile round trip as they are that good! the job they did was amazing. I actually thought I might need to get extra speakers placed here and there, but they explained that the extra benefit was not worth the extra investment. So they were happy to make less money to make sure I got the right set up in my car. Old school care and attention by people that really know and care about their stuff. The result was amazing.

D. B.I went to John Kleis for advice and options to add an apple car play unit in my Volvo. Mark was excellent, ran through my options, made sure everything was clearly itemised and gave me a demo. Booked it in and got it back yesterday after a further demo in the car from Max. What can I say, I love it! The installation is amazing, looks like it was fitted in the factory. If you want to explore any upgrades to your car, it’s the only place to go in my opinion.
C. A.I have been using the services of John Kleis for over 5 years now. I knew they were the people to go to after visiting the shop with my dad in my younger days and him having various products installed.
When you walk in you are greeted by either Connor or Mark , both of which are friendly , confident and certainly know their stuff. They are more than patient as I don't know much about car audio / electrics so have asked a lot of questions before.
They have installed full audio systems for me in various cars and the end result has been absolutely superb , they work on your car as if it was their own! They have also completely stripped one of my cars out before and sound proofed it for me and fixed tonnes of rattles! The sales team are also great as they listen to what you want and then advise you best from there rather than trying to sell you something you don't need or don't want.
I'm involved in a job which involves working out of a van , so they have also fitted on board power supply equipment to ensure the vans are able to power high voltage equipment on site , this has been done perfectly with barely any cables showing.
Each and every technician at John Kleis also knows their stuff and I would be more than comfortable letting them work on my car. It has to be said that some people would complain they are 'expensive or overpriced' but in my opinion they aren't , if you want service , knowledge and care , then you will understand you get what you pay for. Keep it up guys!

J. L.I was after a clean inconspicuous install, I went to John Kleis and was greeted by Connor, he shook my hand and still remembered me from over 10 years ago.
Connor advised me of the best option for complete sound install and steered me away from a particular product due to it having problems with dab.
He priced the job up and said I could come in to hear the products in the demo car. I was after a particular sound so the options that they suggested were taking up far too much space in my small car.
Connor was patient with me and ordered in various sub woofers in various boxes for the task ahead.
When we finally decided on the sub I booked the car in for them to do the work. They are even able to lend you a car during the job.
I think I had Simon complete my job and this guy’s attention to detail is second to none - he was meticulous He did a complete stealth install; you would only know its got a sub when I open the boot.
Simon gave me a demo on how to use the equipment and said he could increase the tops for me prior to collecting the car.
A month later I noticed that my DAB was intermittent so I contacted the shop we agreed on a date for me to bring the car in, and after hearing it they booked it in to rectify the problem.
When dropping the car off it seemed everyone still remembered me from my last visit and I had a chat to Dave and Matt about various things.
The work that they have carried out has already had compliments, the latest was, “wow your stereo sounds clear and it just handles the rolling low bass well.”
All in all I would highly recommend this organisation; they stand by their word and provide a quality service ensuring your needs are met.

Having had a look on Amazon and not understanding much of it, and watching a couple of installation tutorials on YouTube I thought if I attempt this myself I'll definitely F this up. So I popped into John Kleis.
I'm so glad I did as they were very understanding as to my predicament and offered me the right solution for my situation. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and they did an amazing job on my installation. No wires hanging out, no scuff marks or mental breakdowns that would have occurred if I'd have attempted it myself.
Max took me through the app and I left feeling confident that I knew how the dashcam worked and that should any moron decide to take a drive into my car again, I'll have the adequate evidence to get it sorted.

V.I’ve been bringing cars here for the past 5 years after using a previous car audio company which unfortunately closed. after hearing Simon (an installer) had moved from the place that closed down to here I naturally followed as he had worked on my cars prior and I’ve always been blown away by his attention to detail.
I’ve been extremely happy with the service from the guys in the shop who have given me great advice despite my usual research I carry out before I buy anything for my cars. I still have Simon work on my cars most of the time but all the lads at the shop have been involved at some point in my projects.
I can’t recommend this place enough and there may be some reviews stating about price but in most industries you pay for what you get. Thanks for all the hard work guys and I’ll see you with the next car!

S.Amazing People! My BMW had quite a standard audio system which didn’t justify the cars quality. So I decided a few months into my car ownership that I had enough of poor quality and no bass. Had a look around in my local area and couldn’t find any audio store that seemed passionate or as happy as myself to be doing the upgrade to my car. I must say a specific thank you to John Connor and his team. I had front camera installed to my VW T5 to help with tight Parking. Also a Thinkware front and back Dashcam.
When I picked up the unit the front camera for parking purposes was a brilliant install as it was integrated into the VW front badge. However, Camera gave a good view but I wanted to see the obstacles / road directly below in fact just below the bumper.
Anybody else would have rolled their eyes back but no not John Kleis Auto - “It has to be what the Customer wants”
Immediately John Connor gets on the phone to Camera supplier and then gets one of the Engineers out and after discussion comes up with another solution.......
Took back into workshop; changed camera, rewired and refitted in a different position.and the result was absolutely spot on!
The hand over experience brilliant too.

M. B.I needed a new Multimedia & Navigation head unit for my 2014 L200 Barbarian. The fitted unit was a Kenwood, which was a good unit but the Garmin Nav unit had lost it's memory and the DAB was a bit "dodgy".
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the guys at John Kleis checked out my old unit and immediately solved the DAB problem with a simple reset but I decided to go for a complete replacement (upgrade).
The new Kenwood unit is fabulous. The customer service was excellent and their knowledge and professionalism a refreshing change.
Yes, I could have bought the same unit cheaper on-line but their price included full fitting and a terrific back-up service which I was more than happy to pay the extra for.
The DAB on the newly fitted unit wasn't picking up full reception so after a phone-call, the truck was back in the next day and a new DAB aerial fitted FOC; full DAB service resumed.
Quietly professional with a relaxed and friendly attitude.

F.I've trusted John Kleis car audio with two of my cars now (full audio system upgrades supplied and fitted by them for my Subaru WRX sti and Subaru BRZ) and haven't been disappointed with the results. The latest full upgrade even exceeded my expectations which is saying something as my expectations were already high!
In addition to audio upgrades they've also supplied and fitted colour coded flush mounted parking sensors to both my cars, daylight running lights to my previous car and a blue tooth car kit to my wife's car. Interestingly the finish on those was better than OEM which shouldn't be a surprise though, as a number of local car dealerships recommend and use John Kleis.
In summary, if you're looking for a trusted and experienced car audio specialist, I'd highly recommend John Kleis . They're reasonably priced and their work quality/finish is A1. They treat customers cars as though they're their own.

B.Great, friendly service - checked with manufacturer to make sure the bluetooth module would work with my car before I purchased anything, however it didn't work and had to be removed. Unfortunately Connects2 aren't a great manufacturer and they gave false information - but that was no fault of John Kleis and I would definitely go back or recommend them for anything else.
M. T.I needed to update the existing music system that I had on my Audi TT. I called into John Kleis to get some information and to have a look at what they had to offer. I spoke to Connor who was both very well informed and very patient. After showing me available units I decided on the latest Alpine system which has everything on it; FM DAB Bluetooth Apple Car Play and a superb Sat Nav system. It also came with an option of a reversing camera which I also elected to have fitted.
After making the decision Connor kept in touch with me and the car went in on the set date. I also asked for reversing sensors to be incorporated into the system. On picking up the car the job had been completed to a very high standard. New DAB aerial was fitted, a new microphone, the unit fitted perfectly, reversing camera and sensors fitted unobtrusively and working correctly.
To summarise an excellent choice of systems to suit all pockets and requirements, excellent customer services throughout ( I met the Technician who did the job to a very high standard) . I was also given a demo of how everything operated before I left.
Being very fussy about my cars I did have some concern about the job but in hindsight that was unfounded. To finish the job the interior was vacuumed.
I would use them again and can only on my experience recommend them. A big job well done!

Their advice is spot on and you know exactly what needs to be done to your car's audio. From my initial speaking to Connor about fitting my own Becker Traffic Pro radio satnav (15 years old but superb German build quality), in my BMW E46, I was given full information about what would happen. I came back 2 days later for my booked appointment, and their technician Dave did a superb job removing the original cassette radio, and fitting my Becker Traffic Pro, including running a speed pulse off the speedometer cable to it. It was planned to fit a Becker Silverstone CD changer instead of the factory fitted BMW one, but this was not technically possible. Dave was absolutely brilliant in getting the original BMW CD changer to connect to the Becker, so I still can use the CD changer. Trust your car to an exceptionally qualified and competent car audio firm, John Kleis.

T. L.I presented these guys with a bit of a challenge regarding the DAB reception in my Lotus (Glass fibre and composite, etc). The last thing I wanted was a hole to be drilled in the car for a replacement antenna, and, thankfully, they were dead set against that too.

I went in there as I work close by, and knew about them. One day I had walked in just looking around and I have a BMW e90, I wanted an easy way to listen to music so I bought their JL Audio MBT-RX bluetooth device, had this installed in an hour and sounded great!.
I turned to these guys as I had crackling, popping noise from my speakers, they had spent literally 2/3 hours. Dropped it off in the morning and got it back in the afternoon. Sounded so much better, and cleaner as it should have been!

There is always a degree of uncertainty when trusting a company to do something bespoke with your car, which invariably costs a fair bit of money due to the labour involved and the end result is something you have to live with
Assuming you pick a fairly competent company, the end result will come down to the people they employ and the culture of the company they have. I always shy away from companies too busy to respond to emails or spend the time before the sale, as it's likely they're under pressure across the whole business. Lack of time invariably leads to a rushed job, and the focus has to be on quality.
John Kleis are definitely a company you can trust to deliver quality. The guys listen to what you want, explain the various options, and carry out their work as if the car was their own
The sales process was easy, but being a highly sceptical person, I was mindful that I've had good sales people before and been underwhelmed by the end result. Thankfully, that's not the case at John Kleis
The knowledge and experience across the team is evident - they work on their own cars in the same way they do their customers' vehicles. In fact the only aspect that lets JK down is their website, which doesn't mirror the level of professionalism in their work
Attention to detail is very, very high - it was like having a friend or family member work on the car. Every opportunity to consider what I would want from the car was taken, and the custom build reflected this

c. w.Anyone who know's me knows my car is my baby, it's never out of my sight and i don't like being parted from it, so really wanted a boot install done but was really sceptical of taking it anywhere.
I went to JK a few times for a chat and Connor really reassured me answering the many questions that I had and that my baby would be well looked after.
I dropped the car off one Saturday afternoon only to get a phone call 90mins later to say it wouldn't start. My heart went in my mouth but after a little research by both them and us we thought it was the crank shaft sensor. Everyone at JK went out of their way to help me as my main fear was having to have the car taken away to a garage to be fixed. They not only sourced the part for me but also got it fitted, I was so relieved when Connor phoned to say she had started.
After a few weeks I got the phone call I had been waiting for to say she was finished and I could pick her up, my feelings as I drove down the M4 was like that of an expectant father what was I going to find.
When I saw my car and started to look at the work I could of cried, the level of workmanship is out of this world and the care taken on a 9year old car was unbelievable. I had a full speaker upgrade , but kept the original head unit. The interior of the car looks standard apart from the audison unit, which was what i wanted it's when you look in the boot that the magic happens. I had a complete boot install where the boot was built up and then fitted with 2 amps, a sub and the JK sign all lit up in my favourite colour, blue. I was absolutely amazed when they handed me all of my old bits and said it could be out back to standard at any time if I sold the car.
The sound difference from what I had before is absolutely mega, I drove all of the way back for the whole 90mins with the biggest, daftest grin on my face, only downfall is I can no longer hear my exhaust lol.
I cannot fault the level of workmanship, both from sales and all of the fitters, you cannot tell my baby had all of her interior panels removed and the step by step photo's are amazing. I cannot recommend JK enough and am now saving up to give my wife's car the JK treatment.
I loved my car before but now its amazing and always outs a smile on my face. Many thanks to all of the lads that were involved and I would not hesitate in recommending JK.

I cannot thank Connor and Simon enough for the time and trouble they went to whilst designing and building the audio system in my Mustang. Both went well out of their way to accommodate all of my wishes and they have created something rather special in the constraints and confines of a road car. Every step of the way, Connor kept me informed and well advised regarding product choice and placement whilst Simon skilfully installed everything in such a seamless manner it all looks like it came from the factory that way. It is such a shame that all of his work is hidden from sight but when you power up the system you can instantly tell with your ears that a huge amount of work has been put in behind the scenes. This is truly a high end hi-fi that you can listen to just as you would your home hi-fi, complete with a soundstage that pinpoints each instrument and vocalist right there in front of you, just as if you were sat listening to them in the recording studio.
If you want and expect the best then you have to visit Connor and the rest of the team at John Kleis Car Audio, it is worth every penny spent.

m. a.Decided to upgrade my BMW 2 series Harmon Karon front speakers as they didn’t offer a great sound compared to my previous system.
Having spoken to Connor I decided to pay a visit & listen to their BMW demo car with a Audison set up installed.
After an initial listen decided to just do the front speakers using Audison which were highly rated by Connor especially for the BMW set up I had.
As someone who has spent some serious money on a home Hi Fi all I can say is after a week of burning in the Audisons offer incredible value for money . The detail along with the separation is night & day superior to the HK’s, but even more important to me is they sound very analogue & natural compared to many others I’ve heard which sound far too clinical .
I intend to add the Audison 8 channel amp along with the DMI shortly which I know will drastically improve the entire sound across the board.

H. M.I was very apprehensive about what to expect, the nightmare feeling of handing over your pride and joy to strangers, you can understand how I was feeling....more than likely it is why you are reading this review!
Honestly, that feeling soon dissipated, these guys know their stuff. I know my stuff, so I know, they know their stuff!! I was looked after well, I knew what I wanted and they did not try to upsell me, or, something that I didn't need for my build. I listened out for the "have you thought about a capacitor?" routine, but it thankfully did not materialise (for those less in the know, a capacitor is something you really don't need if you have a strong enough alternator/battery combo, but, is easy to convince people who don't know that they do need one).
Handing over the keys to my brand new Golf R was quite a heart in mouth feeling, but I was reassured that the utmost respect would be taken. My car represents many a year of toil and hard work for me, I have always wanted to own something like it since I was a small lad so it really is a big deal handing it over to someone else even if that may seem trivial to some!
Needless to say I got the car back in pristine condition except that it now had everything needed to support a "JL Audio HD750" and an "JL Audio HO110-w3v6" (sounds excellent in place of the rather weak Dynaudio sub that comes as part of the Dynaudio upgrade option from the factory).
So, it's been a good 3 months now since install took place (I like to wait a bit before reviewing) and I have gone around the work inspecting all the parts that are visible and it really is discrete and professional. Everything is hidden away and trunked and neat/tidy, I especially love the remote level controller for the amp as it means I can very quickly balance the bass to the genre of music I am listening to. All in all the end to end experience was worth every single penny I paid.
Strongly recommended, if you are still in two minds, go down there and have a chat with them at the very least, they won't strong arm you, that is not what they are about. They are an extremely professional group of car audio/gadget enthusiasts.
The team love all things cars and are passionate about the audio...when I arrived to pick up the car, they were in the process of testing out a few tracks, grinning ear to ear thoroughly upbeat (sorry, couldn't help the pun) about the build, the work they had completed and how it sounded, that is what I look for, those who are as invested as I am in getting the best possible job done.

S. B.Having recently bought a new car (VW Golf R32) I found it came with a basic audio fit. This meant I was unable to play music via my ipod/shuffle.
Conner at John Kleis gave me two price options, the aux in and an ipod connection which would work with the steering wheel. Preferring the option to play music via any device headphone jack and not require an adapter for the iphone 5 - I opted for the aux in.
Fitting took just 45 minutes, and Dave was extremely helpful and knowledgeable throughout. He was also able to connect it in a way that meant I could still use the CD changer.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
