First time car owner was really nervous about the MOT and service costing a fortune with unplanned expenses. Excellent MOT and interim service. Vehicle picked up for on time, texted to update MOT passed and dropped back at home 4 hours early. Would highly recommend it.

I booked a full service for my car through Fixter, they offered a decent quote and free pickup and drop off. I read all the reviews and after seeing loads of 1 star I got a bit worried. On the day of the pickup, I received great communication from Fixter with details of who was gonna come and pick up my car. The person arrived on time and was extremely kind - he took pictures of the car before leaving for the local garage. A few hours after I received some communication from the garage (though Fixter) saying that during the service the mechanics found out a few parts to be replaced. They gave me a quote and asked if I was ok with them doing the work. Even if the expense was higher than I originally planned for, it was not unreasonable and the breaks needed some work anyway. So, unplanned work, but this was unrelated to Fixter and up to now they communicated very well and efficiently with me. A few hours after they updated me on the progress with the car and gave me a new drop off time (there had been some unexpected work, so this is understandable). Due to the mechanic beeing busy, they did not manage to release my car on time and they missed the drop off time. What I did not like at all was that my card was charged for all the work before I could get my car back. Fixter called me a few times apologizing for the delay, and eventually the car got dropped off the morning after. Not great, but not the end of world. I complained to Fixter about the delay and especially about the fact that it makes no sense to get charged for a service before the full service has taken place (car drop off). The customer service was very receptive to my complains and very kindly offered to partially refund me. Pros: 1) great idea and pretty pain free with the pick up and drop off 2) the driver was very kind and made sure to take lots of photos to keep track of the state of the car before/after 3) great communication and efficient customer support from Fixter Contras: 1) Your car gets assigned to a local mechanic, they will tell you the name, but you have no choice on that. My local mechanic was alright, but as always it had some pretty bad reviews as well. 2) Fixter offers a service, but they rely on contractors so it feels like the service in broken in different bits and not really offered as a whole. I was charged by Fixter as soon as the mechanic finished the work, but I still had not received the car back, so I could have not check if things had actually been done.

I'm updating my review. I previously gave it one star because of a bad experience but Fixter got in touch with me and gave me some credit in order to give it a second chance. My MOT was due this week and I decided to try again - I couldn't be happier and the experience was very positive. Sebastian came to pick up my car and he was very professional. My car was delivered with the MOT done even quicker than I expected. I also had a brief chat with him and he mentioned that they do many other services which I will definitely check out - I am planning to continue using Fixter and I'd encourage everyone to give it a chance.

Have used Fixter 3 times. Each time I have felt the service has been wonderful. When selling one of my cars that Filter worked on I was told and shown how the fuel line replacements were bits of off cut rubber tubing tied on with jubilee clips. Fuel leaked everywhere as the work was completed as cheaply as possible. I hope that this was a complete one off experience and that going forward, all work undertaken by Fixter is of a SAFE STANDARD.

My car was in need of an MOT, googled for local services and Fixter popped up. Have to admit that it sounded way too easy. They come pick up your car, they take it to a respected mechanic, they return with the service completed and they are fully insured. What's the catch? There was no catch. A professional gentleman, Hakim, showed up a few minutes before the scheduled time, took photos to ensure no new damage, drove away and by the time I got back to my computer had already had an update from Fixter that he was on his way to the mechanic. An email and a text message came through when he arrived at said mechanic. To schedule I received a message that some additional serves could be performed if I accepted at a reasonable and discounted rate. I declined at this time, but plan on using them when I do need those services performed later. A text and mail were received a bit later indicating that Hakim was on his way back for delivery of the car. He showed up, handed me the key and documentation, invited me to have a look around the car. All good he went on his way. There was no catch, just a great service experience at a fair price.

My MOT expired on the 8th of October and I desperately needed to find a garage to carry out the checks. My usual mechanic left England to return back to his native Poland after 19 years, so I was unsure who I could trust. Enter Fixter. The super slick UI, easy navigation and great customer feedback gave me the confidence to give them a shot. And I was not disappointed. The car was picked from my home — there was a slight delay because of the climate change protests in Old Street — and dropped off once the job was done. The car was taken and delivered back to my place by gentlemen from SMSmotors the same day by lunch time, despite the fact that they had to repair a couple of things so that my car would pass MOT. Easy to book online, I needed a replacement radiator fitted, I also asked for the gearbox to be checked. Car picked up as promised and dropped back to me at home. Absolutely brilliant service.. I am currently working from home and have three young children and Fixter made getting my car MOT’d so amazingly easy and convenient. The booking was all made online and confirmed and the garage called me half an hour before collection to confirm everything! The gentleman explained everything that was going to happen and rang me an hour later to advise me about the MOT and the payment was taken from my account. The car was then dropped back to me an hour or so later and I was given the certificate and given info about the advisories. Absolutely excellent service I would 100% recommend!!

A+++++ Car pick up for MOT and Service. I've used Fixter on a number of occasions and I cannot fault them. The person picking up our car was on time (well early), very courteous and very professional. I was kept informed at every stage of the process from collection of car to drop off. We had problems with the key fobs and he representative explored online and made suggestions on how we could fix ourselves, which is much cheaper than a garage. Cannot fault and will use again.

Excellent service and highly recommend for service and MOT except for one detail. It’s all managed digitally, no actual human contact. I was advised later in the day of work that needed doing as an advisory, however when I clicked on the link to provide details of this it did not work. I used the pages facility which was via messenger to make contact with Fixter regarding the faulty page they’d sent me but by the time this was sorted it was too late to get the work done. Had fixter to arrange a major service on my car for me, the first appointment had to be moved for unforeseen circumstances with garage. These things happen so wasn’t too disappointed, it was arranged for 3 days later again that was fine with me. The garage driver turned up on time and took car. It’s been great from start to finish! First of all I had to change my appointment which was super easy and handled quickly. My car was collected for an MOT spot on time.. MOT was passed with an advisory about which they contacted me by mobile. Car was then returned, well before predicted time, steering wheel and hand controls having been sanitized (even the key), drivers seat covered with polythene, paper floor mat etc. Very impressed. Having technical cars collected and returned has been a great time saver for us and we have been kept informed of the progress on the day from when the car will be collected, progress of the work and it's return. Any additional work required is discussed and agreed over the phone. The interior and exterior cleaning option is well worthwhile as the finishes are excellent. Fully recommend Fixter , first a choice of garages , days and times with the costs for my full service and MOT on my diesel Insignia , Time of pick up from my place of work between 8:30 and 9:00 called me at 8:50 to say he had arrived , took photo's of the car and drove it away . Then Fixter kept me informed when the car had arrived at the garage and when the work had been completed . Arrived back at work 3:30 fully serviced and MOT pass. Great service at great cost.

Used FIXTER first time for service and MOT of a Toyota Yaris Hybrid during the second lockdown. Excellent door to door service, no issues at all. Extensive list of work to be carried out well displayed under different service options. You have the option to say yes or no for further work suggested on the day. The vehicle was collected and delivered on the time given. The only small concern I have is that I did not receive any information on the garage where the vehicle was taken until I inquired. But the details were given without delay. Although I had no issues at all with the garage I would have been happier if I knew which garage the vehicle was allocated before the booking. In addition it will be good for the customers if the garage can inform by text or phone call just before the collection and return delivery although both were within the given time frame. Overall, an excellent service and I have no hesitation in recommending FIXTER for anyone looking for this kind of service.

This service was introduced to me by my car insurance provider and I was a little skeptical about using Fixter and I am happy I did. The hassle of yearly MOT at a garage are always stressful, and this year I have a young baby, as well as two school children and the inconvenience and the thought of rushing to my local garage with a baby was frightening and seemed unsafe in this current pandemic. The service that Fixter provided made it more manageable. The driver came at the arranged time (Terry) and he was really polite and considerate, to my school runs and busy schedule. I received a text when my car arrived at the garage and when they had completed the MOT and I was able to confirm via online the repairs I agreed to complete. I received a call in the afternoon from the garage to apologise for the delay in receiving parts and returning my car on the same day. The next morning I received a call from Terry and my car was returned to me before my school run and he apologised for the delay in the repair. I was kept updated regularly with any additional work that needed to be done in addition to the full service, & other work that I had asked to be looked at, & given a time scale if parts needed to be ordered in. I was also given details of the time my car would be returned if the work took longer, so I didn’t have to keep phoning to check what was happening. Fixter is a good idea in principle. I requested a diagnosis report, however all I received was information of the part that requires replacement. I do not think the diagnosis was fully completed as I already knew what the issue was. There was no information of the cause or other issues with vehicle which I knew about. The dealer I purchased the vehicle from had requested a 3rd party report, however I was unable to obtain this. The chat service is very good. Chirag and Ayessa were able to sort out the recovery of my vehicle as the vehicle would not start. The charge for the part was also quite high, therefore I obtained a cheaper quote elsewhere. As I did not receive a 3rd party diagnosis report from Fixter, I have requested a refund for the diagnosis charge.

I booked an MOT and Full Service with Fixter. The booking process was incredibly easy and the gentleman who collected the car was bang on time. He didn't however follow the COVID precautionary measures outlined on the Fixter website (no mask, no gloves). The full service was not as expected and I had to pay for additional work that was outlined as included on the booking form. When I spoke to the Fixter team to query this, they were very quick to look into it and explain why this was the case. Overall, for ease, they are great but i'm not sure they’re the cheapest out there. I would definitely look around before committing.

I received a call to inform me that it failed the MOT 😔 what it had failed on and how much the garage quoted to fix it. I was unsure if I needed to call the garage to make additional payments, but was reassured that I didn’t need to do anything else and fixter would add the money to my invoice. I was told that my car would come back a little later than expected, because of the work that needed to be carried out. I highly recommend fixter to anybody looking for an easy solution to getting your car MOT’d. It was collected and dropped off at my work, so I didn’t even know it was gone. This model of doing things may not work for all cases, as one does not have direct contact with the garage. Booking process straightforward. Car collection and return very helpful. The work carried out was good (as far as a non-mechanic can tell!). The only issue was that the car needs some new pads as very low, this was advised on the MOT and only find out when the car was returned. It would have been good to have had the offer to have that done whilst the car was in the garage. But really good service. A second trip to fit new front brake pads went really smoothly too. Both guys who came to pick up and drop car off were really good too.

I had a mixed experience with Fixter, I booked for my car to have an MOT and service. The driver that came to pick up my car had a foldaway bike which I had been informed about. I met him outside my work and handed over the keys. I could see that he was struggling to fit the bike into the boot of my car and he tried to drive off with the boot open. I went outside and asked him if everything was ok and suggested that he moved the bike into the back seat of the car as it would probably fit. He said it was fine and he was going to leave now. I asked him not to and he replied, why? I advised that it was my car and I did not want him driving around with the boot open. He moved the bike into the back seat. When my car was returned I found that my service book had not been signed and stamped because the garage did not look for the section properly in the handbook and assumed it was missing. The next day I had to drive down to the garage myself in order to get my service book validated. All in all, I was pleased with the service of the garage but not so impressed with the attitude of the driver and the inconvenience of having to travel back to the garage.

A very professional service from start to finish which I would highly recommend for those who are too busy to take their car to a garage and collect again. My only disappointments were that I was not able to speak to the garage directly to discuss the repairs - I only had contact with someone in the call centre and despite me leaving the service book in a visible place for them to stamp, they returned the paperwork stating "No service book available"!! I was also a bit concerned at the time it took me to get through to the call centre to ask them to proceed with the repairs (over 12 minutes on hold). Saying that, the guy at the call centre (Alex) was extremely helpful, friendly and sympathetic so I can't fault him. I would highly recommend this service apart from the little 'blips' stated above.
