I recently bought a second hand car and I thought it's best to get it checked out, so I booked a major service. I dropped my car off before mid-day and it was ready by 16:30. They called me with a quote for all the things that needed fixing/replacing and offered advice on what's urgent and what can wait a bit longer because they probably realised I am not very car savvy. I'm very happy with the service, so once my MOT is up, I'll definitely come to this garage.

Excellent service, workmanship & turnaround. Phoned up, booked the car in, dropped it off this morning - managed my expectations & managed to turn the repair (new wheel bearing, plus free suspension check) same day!! :) Happy days. Booked an appointment online during jubilee bank holiday to get oil and filter changed. When i arrived as per online instructions was told they were short staffed and had to re-arrange another day. Not garage's fault, was halfords system not being able to update, in hindsight i should have called to prior to leaving. After coming back the following Monday the car was received and serviced with no hiccups. Overall pleasant experience.

Really fantastic service!! Great availability and online booking. They answered all of my questions the day before, allowed me to drop off the car early and were very efficient with all of the work completed before 1pm the same day (replaced all disks and brake pads). The guy on the front desk even talked me through the work and showed me the worn parts which was excellent. Also I now get free brake pads for life!! Will definitely use Halfords for all servicing going forward.

The team at Queensway are wonderful! They ensure that you are kept up to date during what ever you are having done to your car, give accurate time estimations and eliminate problems as they arise. It never feels like they are creating work that ‘needs’ to be done, they are very honest and upfront about what is important now and what can wait. When I questioned what had happened to make it this,I was told that my car had passed the MOT in the morning , but two other cars had failed and had to be worked on. When I inquired on the progress of the work at1330 I was told that my service was just about to start. I was told that there was a shortage of staff because of COVID.

Halfords at Queensway Southampton is my 'go to' garage for annual MoT and servicing. The management and team are always friendly and helpful. They do as much as they can rather than the archetypal attitude of charging what they can get away with, that (to me) typifies the motor trade. I cannot speak for other Halfords Autocentres as I have never used them, I can however recommend this central Southampton location.

I received a call to tell me l needed a new wiper blade which was coming from another store, there was a small wait. I was offered NHS discount on the blade. I needed some diagnostics done on my car. I went on-line. There was a slot available the next day. Booked it in. Paid fixed fee on line. Dropped off the car in the morning. I've been meaning to write this review for a while - the staff here were absolutely fantastic and very honest. Car failed it's MOT and required a substantial amount of work. They didn't force the repairs on me, instead they just gave me the options and time to make a decision. The car was old and the repairs were close to being economically unviable, so the staff gave me their opinions on what to do. Although I was going to have the work done, another issue was discovered that meant it wasn't viable and they stopped work immediately and didn't charge me for the job they'd already started. Excellent customer service and kept me posted throughout. Would recommend to others based on my experience.

Brilliant service. They didn't find things that were not there just to have something to do and get my money. I had bad experiences in other auto-centres previously. Halfords are the only guys I trust now as they seem to be going away from that prevailing model of finding something to do at all costs, anything - whether justified or not - just to get your money. My car battery had died, so I ordered a new one online along with the fitting service. Got to the garage the following day, it turns out I had bought the WRONG battery for my car! They efficiently got it sorted and the service I received was superb. The following day, I opened my bonnet and found that the rod clip had been broken. Called the garage, spoke with Rob on the phone, who advised me to get to the garage. Upon arrival, I was seen immediately and the clip was fixed temporarily until a new one is ordered. Called up on the day after my engine warning light turned on, they managed to fit my car in for a diagnostic and carry out work on the day and got it back to me within a few hours. It needed coils replacing and spark plugs. They also worked with the company that cover my warranty so it worked out at a cheaper cost than expected.

Unfortunately I had a puncture in my tyre the day before I was due to film a wedding. I live very close to this autocentre so I gave them a call and Paul promised to look at the car straight away. Upon finding the puncture which was fixable without a replacement, they worked on it straight away, which I thought was awesome service. 6 weeks later I realised I had another puncture in the same tyre - another nail. Again, they saw to it immediately after the phone call to them and got to work. They also check the other tyres for issues and found a nail in another tyre whilst they were doing it - rotten luck for me! However Paul was helpful in calling me and making sure it was okay to work on both tyres and even showed me the nails after. Can't fault the service, best I've had from anywhere in a long time - thanks to Paul and the team!

I was unfortunate enough to burst a tyre the other day whilst swerving away from someone about to drive into me. As a woman I always HATE having to deal with anything car related because I know what some garages can be like. After I called halfords they offered to fit me in that day and check all the wheels and let me know what my options were. They were so helpful and professional and even told me that I didn’t need the back wheels changed (a previous garage had told me they were illegal which turned out to be rubbish!) and then made sure I could match the price on the website and have the wheel changed the next day. Paul was so friendly and talked through everything with me so I knew exactly what was going on. Most negative reviews on here are either from years ago or complaints about pricing. Great service and they actually made an effort to give me a diagnosis which would fix my problems and things i could do as a precaution but I wasn’t pressured into paying for things I didn’t need. My car was recently seen to by this Halfords. Having not much knowledge about what was wrong with the car after a previous garage played around with it, I booked an appointment with Halfords. I spoke with a young lad named Jason and corresponded with him via phone, he was very patient with me and explained exactly what was happening. I called him over 3x in a matter of hours asking the same questions as things weren't registering in my head but he was still very patient with me. He was even happy to speak to my dad who was calling from the other end of the country. The service was great and Jason was excellent. I am immensely grateful to him. I know where to come next time.
