J.Mike recently changed gear box oil and at the same time has secured future servicing and maintenance. Quoted price was reasonable, was able to see replaced oil (so job actually done), gave me some advisories and things to look out for.

J. Z.Had an EML warning lamp on my dash. Local dealership told me that my much loved and cherished prestige German performance car was in need of a replacement catalytic converter/downpipe at 3 years old and after only 30000mls. Their quote was £2000 for the part plus 7-8hrs labour! I said no thank you. I found a good used part and then found Mike through Whocanfixmycar.com. He came in with a quote of £145 to do the work. I dropped the car off at 9.15. At 11.55 he phoned to say the car was ready to collect. From start to finish the job took him 2hrs he said so wanted only £120. I picked the car up and it is now 100% again. The car was returned to me with no collateral marks or otherwise due to inconsideration while in his care. I explained when dropping off the car it is my pride and joy and I expected to be treated as such. Mike completely got it. He is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet, a fantastic and knowledgeable mechanic who works unbelievably quickly. It was my first visit but now he's definitely my goto car mechanic. I can unconditionally recommend him. In all my years of car ownership I've never come across a mechanic so honest and capable. If you visit his premises please don't judge a book by it's cover. His premises are cheap to him and he passes his low costs onto his clients.

H. R.I cant rate Mike and Southcoast Autos enough. They gave me an really competitive quote for replacing the wheel arches on my Mazda Bongo and included some work I wasnt expecting including a lot of undersealing and an immaculate paint job. The work ended up being much more complicated than we'd initially expected but he kept his word on the quote and I paid the exact same amount despite the extra work.
As a young woman I often am met with patronising old men at garages but Mike was amazing. He didnt underestimate me and my knowledge of my van, but was also willing to explain the work to me in a way I understood. He sent me regular updates on the work and answered a lot of questions I had.
He was also super flexible with pick up and drop off times.
You can tell that Mike really loves what he does - there's so much pride in his work and I was so happy with the whole job he did. I'll definitely be a returning customer and would recommend Southcoast Autos to everyone.
