Had a new roof fitted to my mr2 here, absolutely brilliant, I hung around whilst he fitted it, lovely guy with lots of stories to tell, a dying breed, highly recommended

Had a replacement roof fitted for my s2k here several years ago. It still looks good all this time later. Even if you're not local, the work he does is well worth the travel. Book a hotel if you must, it will still work out cheaper than most other options in the UK.... and more importantly, the end result does not reflect the low price.

I had a soft top on a Toyota MR2 roadster which was in urgent need of replacement, it was still watertight but wasn't about to win any beauty contests any time soon. I called Jack Smith's for a quote and was pleasantly surprised by the quote and the speed with which work could be completed. I booked the car in. I have to say I really am seriously impressed with the quality of the work here. Raymond demonstrated phenomenal attention to detail and thoroughness in replacing the soft top on my car and the replacement looks nothing short of fantastic. Raymond basically crafts these up in advance in readiness for your visit. The fit and finish is top notch and really does make the car look like new again. Throw in the good conversation as well ( I waited whilst mine was done). Waiting gave me a real insight into the work involved and Raymond's exceptionally high craftsmanship skills are a joy to behold . This fella knows his way around a car, believe me. It's no surprise to me to see that customers are happy to travel some way for hood replacement, this level of craftsmanship is not easy to find nowadays. If you have a soft top in need of TLC or replacement, give them a call.

Raymond replaced my S2000 soft top in 3 hours. He works from a small lock-up garage where he can only really take one vehicle at a time. He does MX5s, Boxters etc, making each hood by hand. His workshop has rolls of soft-top fabric on the floor (mostly black) and an industrial sewing machine. This is a hand-crafted bespoke art and may not be factory perfect, but mine is superb.
