Outstanding service. Car threw up an engine fault and I needed it sorted ASAP as im a driving instructor. I rang them and said they would try and look at it. Highly recommended. The team were able to take a look at my car the morning after I called. They diagnosed the issue within minutes and showed me the photos to back it up. The estimate was less than I expected, the work completed the same morning and the final bill less than the estimate!! 10/10 Garage. I've took my 59 plate Astra here twice and both times for electric faults- after taking it to other garages and they couldn't find the fault. Both times they quickly found, fixed and priced the jobs at a great rate. Pretty much the entire rear-braking system on my Ford Focus needed replacing after the handbrake quit disengaging properly. It's a pretty big job, but, having dropped the car off the day before, I got a call. The problem was explained concisely and I was told it could be fixed that day. Late afternoon, got the call, picked it up and all the work had been completed to a very good standard, even the wobbling exhaust pipe had been re-affixed...which was nice! The price was entirely reasonable, in fact, I'd expect to have paid more at most garages, communication was professional and prompt, and this is the second time I've taken my car there and had a serious issue (first was the alternator) fixed promptly and satisfactorily.

Was very indecisive as to where to trust taking my car for a Stage 1 Remap on my VW UP GTI and practically everywhere that I enquired for a reasonable price stated that they send off for the software to be remapped by someone else. This didn't fill me with much confidence as cheap generic software maps are easily available but may not be safe to the vehicle in the long term. Spoke to AutoMax Master Tuning and they informed me that they use a Dyno Rolling Road and that the gentleman who carries out the work is very passionate about his skill and that he will custom map the car himself to the best of its ability within safe parameters. Taking all this into account the price was very good, it's been several months since the job was done and I am very happy with the results. My car feels very different and the acceleration time has improved greatly. Thank you for such a fantastic job :)

This is the most professional garage I have visited in a long time. They took on a very difficult hybrid related job, and liaised with other industry experts to solve the problem, enabling me to get my car back on the road at a cost vastly reduced from that quoted from the main dealer. Great experience every time I have had to take my car in for any work. Tomasz and all his team always look after me and are very professional in every aspect of the work required particularly with electrical issues I have had with my Mercedes C Class. They really know their stuff when it comes to Mercedes cars and I consider this garage to be an expert with them. The diagnosis and fix when I had an issue with the auto gear selector was professional and completed to a very high level. They also managed to fix a gear box oil leak which a lot of other garages seemed to be scared of doing and just kept telling me to go to the Mercedes main dealer. Since going there for the first time 6 years ago this is the only garage that I trust and use for all my servicing, MOT and other repair needs.

Ive been in Automax for a first Time last week with my car for diagnostic. Took them an hour or so to diagnose the problem with my engine multifunction light. Turned out it was a problem with one the sensors. They advised me abouts costs straight after and fixed it in one day. Overall very good service, seems like they care about their customer. My golf is back to normal. Highly recommended.

The other reviews are right, these guys are excellent. Booked in for service and MOT, they decided which level of service I needed AFTER assessing the car and therefore the overall cost was half that of the main dealer. Very polite/professional throughout and explained everything on collection. Won't be going anywhere else in Swindon. 👍🏻

Had an electrical problem with warning lights on the instrument panel of my ford transit. Original garage couldn't solve it after 2 months of trying! They had other garages and auto electricians look but no one could resolve the issue. Called these people. Very friendly and helpful from the start, made it clear how much I would be paying at every stage. After 2 hours they had found the problem called me, gave me the price and once agreed made the repair. After 2 months these guys solved it in one afternoon and at a very reasonable price. Amazing!!! I am not a friend, colleague or family member of any who works at Automax, found them totally by chance Googling ' who removes Injectors in Swindon'. They could have run with my idea of what was wrong with my VW Transporter (which would have cost me £2000) - after trying to get it fixed for 3 years! Instead they told me what they thought was wrong, drew me diagrams, did a full diagnostic which they didn't charge me for and within 2 days fixed my van properly at less than half of what I would thought it would cost. Then they showed me photos they had taken inside the cylinder head and explained what was going on. Great service. I have seen many mechanics in the last 3 years who couldn't diagnose or fix my van, these guys did it in two days, just wish I'd gone here first. Zac Josey

After having a nightmare of a breakdown I was collected by the AA and taken to a different garage in Swindon, after a hack job done by them I was collected and taken to this little gem. They fixed a secondary problem with my BMW after the first garage couldn't wait to get ot out the door. Care has quite clearly been taken cleaning the engine bay to identify and rectify the problem. Staff were on hand to speak to me and bring me up to speed with any issues. All in all a fantastic service and I garage I would reccomend to anyone should you need! Honesty and proficiency very rarely go hand in hand but I genuinky felt looked after by the team here.

Had brake problems with our Adam car, the brakes were making a noise, contacted the local Vauxhall Dealer but were told they could not look at the problem for 10 days. The car had been serviced by the dealer in August and were told the brakes were ok and no remedial work was required, only 600 miles had been done since the service. In the mean time Contacted Automax in Swindon and they suggested we bring the car to them the next morning and the diagnoses was extreme wear with the front discs and pads. The front discs and pads were changed the next day and we were back on the road. Excellent job done and quick positive service at sensible prices, we will not hesitate to use there facilities in the future. Garage very organised and clean and staff very helpful. Tomaz, Jami and the Automax crew are a delight to be served by. As a family, we take our numerous (five) cars to Automax and have done so fore some years. They are professional, trustworthy, reliable and very competent. In short, we trust them. On arrival, you know you are dealing with a focused and experienced business simply by looking at the engineers overalls - (very continental - its just what I expect when I drop my Mercedes off...). Jami on the administration / reception desk communicates very well and keeps us up to date on progress. Today they carried out a Gold service, and replaced the disks and brakes on our Ford SMAX. They gave us the online discounts even though we phoned and booked. The ballpark quote from another supplier was much more than Automax charged us. We have never been let down, messed about or misled by these lovely people. We can't say the same for others we have used in the past. This means that for us, Automax is our default place for service and repairs.

My car just didn’t ‘feel’ right but when I contacted Automax they didn’t make me feel silly because I could only give them a ‘fluffy’ description of the problem. Easily the best garage in swindon. Whatever needs to be done with the car will get done. Be it electrical or mechanical. My megane had a problem with body control module that dealer wanted to charge me £800 for. Guys have sorted it for less than half price and so far its been ok for the last 4 months :)

Hi . Today I visited Automax for a diagnostic on my xc70 the receptionist was extremely polite and helpful and the two mechanical guys I met also, it would seem I didn't actually have a fault and they were very polite to inform me of something I was doing incorrectly and gave me a lot of their time to explain various things about my new( to me) car all this at no cost to myself. Automax are the only people I go to if I need a mechanic to look after the car. Someone that does an actual mechanics job not plug a bloody laptop in to say computer says No. They look after my c6 Z06 Corvette, e39 M5 and classic Mini cooper. They perform all the maintenance I need, suggest fixes for the future, they are proper mechanics and auto electricians. I trust the guys with the cars not only because I know they do the job right but because they take really good care of my pride and joys. I recommend these guys to my friends because I know I can trust them.

Saved my blue Ford SportKa from being totally scrapped as I was losing hope with another garage that had my car for a whole month and still couldnt diagnose the problem just throwing new parts at it. I then took it to AutoMax and they identified the electrical problem within 1 day! I asked them to take a look at my car, the following day they called back and quoted me over £580 for repairs..I was a little unsure.. so I done a quick search on google and phoned AUTOMAX.. within 15 mins I was given a quote of £260 for exactly the same work...I was able to get my car there the same day it was fixed and I was back at work the next morning..!! I was back at AUTOMAX today for an MOT spoke to a lovely lady Jamie this morning, explained my situation (not a lot of time off work) she arranged for me to come in during my lunch break, on arrival I was booked in within 5 mins, The car was tested and returned within 45 mins... it failed.. No problem... automax explained my options, carried out all the repairs and had me back on the road before the end of my shift.. now I sometimes read these reviews and think... it’s probably a friend of theirs writing this.?.. but I’m doing this because I’m new in the area and I’ve used other mechanics in Swindon.. and I’ve had some bad experiences.. and spent a lot of money on things that didn’t need doing... I only wish someone had told me about AUTOMAX sooner !!... thanks again guys... I’ll never go anywhere else !!
