My car broke down at home in the evening of the 26 Jul. Got a recovery mechanic out to look at initially, informed it was a sensor. Couldn’t find a garage straight away who was able to look at my car, but thankfully Cross Street offered to take my car in on the 27 Jul and look at it. It was diagnosed with cam belt issues, the garage worked on the car and it was back to me by the afternoon of the 28 Jul. I am very thankful to everyone at Cross street garage for getting my car in and getting fixed. Everything was explained to me, original parts fitted to the car. So, I would recommend them again, a big thank you to all concerned at Cross street, in particular Matt who I contacted a few times to check on the car. Thank you Cross Street for fixing my car!

Keith and the team are simply fantastic. They’ve helped me out twice recently when time was constrained for me and them, and I needed my van back on the road ASAP. The first time was a tyre change following a puncture, where one of the guys came out to pick up the non-standard wheel from home (which was bolted on too tight), took it away and came back to fit it. The second time was to get it through it’s MOT, after it was discovered one of the tyres was rubbing on the van body. Somehow they managed to source 4 standard VW wheels in time Legends! Highly recommended. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Rang them at 3pm today as my son's car had an oil leak. Said to drop the car over and they would fix it Monday. Dropped the car off at 3.30. Had a call at 5pm to say the car was fixed. After taking a long time to find a car that suited my needs, I finally found one at this garage. Having grown up around cars I am always very careful when buying second hand cars. The gentleman on the phone was very pleasant and we decided to take a trip to visit and inspect the car myself. We purchased the car that day, after the team carried out some basic maintenance work and gave it a new MOT. After 3 months the car developed a problem. Now, the reality is no one would have identified the problem unless they drove the car daily. It was an older car with over 100K on the clock so the issue that arose was not something complete unexpected. However it was a big job to replace the part due to the accessibility. In addition to this, we live around 130 miles away. So I was a little apprehensive when I called the dealership, wondering how they would deal with the issue. To say I was both pleasantly surprised and grateful is an understatement. I cannot thank them enough for working hard to support me. Not only did they sort out a hire car and have a driver come all the way to deliver it. They sorted the repair and covered some of the costs that the warrantee would not. They then sent another driver out to deliver my car and collect the courtesy car. Thank you so much. Your kindest and dedication to customer service really stands out and I really appreciate it.

Great service. Called up saturday morning for someone to look at the car as making rattling noises, and although they were full they still looked at it for me. So booked it in for repair the following Wednesday and done nice and quickly. Guys there are friendly and make you feel welcome. When I went in on the saturday I had my toddler with me and their waiting room has toys in aswell as TV. Perfect. Definitely coming back

Absolutely outstanding service from Keith & his team in Oldtown!! I can't thank them enough for picking up & dropping off my car when the handbrake failed last week. Keith originally quoted me £500 maximum to fix the problem but after several hours spent working on the car he then found it to be a lesser & much cheaper problem to fix!! I cannot give this place a higher review. To begin with I has issues with the site which I couldnt log onto however I emailed niall and he was very helpful and told me to come in to the branch. Niall was busy and passed me on to mark who from the day I went in contacted finance company after finance company to get me a better rate. Once the finance was sorted he didnt stop till he had found me a car to fit my finance kept me in the loop with every car he went for. The service 10/10. The car was picked up from Leeds and once had a few touch ups done and full valet mot and service done the car was ready for me to pick up. Service was quick and agreement signed I would 100% recommend cross street sales. Massive thank you to Mark for going above and beyond and Niall I am one very satisfied customer. .

Just got my car back from service & MOT. Unfortunately it needed additional work to pass the MOT. I received a call from Dan in the service department, who explained exactly what was required and a price for the repair as well as a total price including the Service & MOT. Because the price quoted was a lot less than I would expect ( usually take my car to the main dealer) I authorised the repair. I was given an estimated time of completion. I received a call later that to tell me my car was ready for collection (not used to all this communication I usually have to do all the chasing at the main dealer). I collected the car after finishing work. Dan spent the time to go through the invoice with me. I loved the personal touch & will definitely be using Cross garage again and would strongly recommend them to all my friends & family.

Having read the reviews I felt I should add my own experiences. I do not think the few poor reviews they have are fair or accurately portray the company. What I feel that the poor reviews don't account for is the exceptional honesty I have found from them. The first example I have found of this was when my car started to rattle intermittently when changing gear or in neutral. I took the car to Halfords as it was opposite the vets where I'd just taken the dog and they said the clutch was going and potentially the fly wheel too. They recommended urgently replacing it at a cost of between 700 and 1100 pounds depending on the fly wheel. Rather dismayed I took the car to cross street garage to get another quote. They inspected the car and came back saying it was not currently a serious issue, the problem was intermittent and was only worth replacing if it worsened. They explained the reasoning carefully. I am not a mechanic and they could easily have told me the clutch needed replacing. They did not and the clutch has been fine since. The rattle has also gone away. That was well over six months ago. Following that I got a flat tyre. When I got to kwik fit they inspected the tyre and said that unfortunately there was corrosion on the inside of the wheel that was allowing air to escape the tyre. They said it wasn't a problem in the short term but that after the winter I would need to find somewhere to get my tyres powder coated to resolve the issue. So last month I went to cross street garage and they had a look. Told me the outside of the wheel was fine and they could do a process to treat only the inside of the tyres that would cost me a quarter the price. They also further reduced that by bundling some of the cost into the service I had due. Finally on the service I had due the car's onboard computer raised a warning to say the rear break pads were due to be changed. On the service cross street inspected the brakes and told me they were only 25% worn with 75% of the brake pad left so didn't need changing. Each of these times the garage could easily have charged me a lot of money for work that wasn't strictly needed and that another garage wouldn't have charged me for. I have seen a review complaining that cross street were too expensive and I have seen a review complaining that they were not honest. In my experience the work they have done has been very reasonably priced but more importantly they have been completely honest in advance about exactly how much I will have to pay and also about what work does and doesn't need to be done. To me that is exceptional and worth writing about. There might be garages out there that quote less for parts or labour but I would much rather a garage that I know will quote me an honest price to do a good job on the work that needs doing and not to do anything else. To me that is invaluable.

My first experience with cross street was me calling them on a Monday morning and telling them I needed an MOT on my van in the next few hours so I could drive it across the country that afternoon. They totally came through for me that day and have continued to do so ever since. The staff are friendly and patient with me and my total lack of car knowledge and always go above and beyond to keep me and my vehicles happy. I wouldn't and couldn't use any other garage now!

Excellent job done on my AudiTT front brake. Both the squealing noise and the brake judder were fixed in less than an hour. Gurj was very professional and explained the possible root cause of the problem and I was allowed to watch the whole repair process from a safe distance. Cost of repair for me is reasonable too. I am extremely happy with the service I received and would definitely recommend the garage. Raymond.

It was collected from my home, they rang me when the job was completed, I paid over the phone and my car is being returned to my home. And no extra charge for this service!!! Cross Street garage was recommended to me when I first moved to Swindon just over a year ago. On my first MOT, they picked up a mistake made by my previous garage; the wrong size tyre had been fitted! I’ve been going back to Keith and his team ever since. As well as being reliable, they keep you up-to-date and keep costs down where they can. Recently my insurance company wanted to write off my car following an incident. However, despite its mileage, it was in a decent condition and - other than some cosmetic work and adjustments - was completely drivable. The team managed to work their magic to get it back on the road again for a lot less than the insurance company had valued the repairs at. They even dropped me home when it was raining! I now need to book the car in for a new alternator and have complete faith that Keith and co. will do a great job. Thanks again!
