I have been pleased with every aspect of Cedar Garage on the two occasions I've used them. I find them very helpful, efficient, and prepared to go the extra mile to provide excellent customer service. I recommend them unreservedly. To give this review a "Human Interest" I put my 20 year old car in for an MOT knowing that if it failed badly I'd have to consider getting rid of it, particularly since the Road Tax was due at the end of the end of the month and was going to be £330. I'd spent a fair sum last year (with Cedar Garage and I was very pleased with their service) but I do so little mileage that I can't really justify having a second car. Anyway, it passed the MOT so this year ALL ! it's cost is the Pass + Road Tax + Insurance. Not justifiable at all, but I love the car and I'll reconsider the cost next year.

Everyone at Cedar Garage who I dealt with, whether it was on the phone to in person with someone at reception or the mechanics themselves were very polite, friendly and knowledgeable and explained things simply for someone like me who has no clue about engines/cars. They dealt with the problem while I waited and The car needed a part changed so they managed to find a part and researched the best price and it was delivered to them within 20 minutes! And the whole job only took 2 hours from diagnosing the problem to repairing it. Very cost effective. I have used them in the past and every time I visit I am very happy with the service. I booked in for a very last minute MOT and Stacey very kindly squeezed me in for the end of the day for collection the following morning - however, I got a call that afternoon to say they’d already completed the check and my car was ready for collection :) While I was on the phone I asked for some advice about our other car we’ve been having real problems with and having taken it to another garage we were confused and struggling to make a decision about whether to spend more money having it repaired. I go to Cedar Garage for my car's annual services, and any problems that crop up. Being a female who only knows the basics of car mechanics, Cedar Garage staff are friendly, polite, welcoming and non patronising, when I go in with a query. That's from the Bosses at the top, to the office/reception staff down to the mechanics who sort out my little problems for me, even when they're busy. As I am on a low income, Cedar Garage will tell me the things that need to be done straight away and what can wait for a bit longer, giving me the chance to save up to get them done at a later date. Cedar Garage may not be one of the cheapest around, but to have that trust in them that you're not going to be ripped off because yr a female and know nothing about cars, goes a long way. I first used Cedar garage back in 2019 based on high recommendation and online reviews. At the time, just before using Cedar I had a persistent issue with my vehicle (Ford Ranger) that couldn’t be identified. The Engine management light was on & it was constantly in limp mode. I had many local mechanics scratching their heads trying to figure out what the issue was & even after running obd scans there wasn’t enough specific information to identify what the problem was. Ultimately I was told I need to find a Ford specialist. This is where Cedar garage stepped in. They had a Ford specialist and literally on the same day the truck was booked in I was given a diagnostic. Turns out I had a stretched timing chain of all things. The repair was made & I was told the truck was test driven by two mechanics, One driving and the other monitoring engine performance/live data from a laptop plugged into the trucks CPU. The problem was finally solved. Since then, at Cedar I’ve had a couple of MOT’s and other repair work done on the vehicle, most recently in September of this year 2022. The staff are very friendly and the correspondence is excellent. Diagnostics reports are well written and informative, I personally like the fact there is a paperless option so any reports, MOT certificates, invoices etc can be sent directly to me electronically by email. I live 21 miles away from Cedar garage so I think that alone speaks volumes.

I've used both the Littlehampton Road and Tarring Road locations for a full service and MOT, respectively. Excellent experiences at both. I have spent much of my adult life dreading interactions with mechanics and almost always left a garage feeling stupid and taken advantage of. The last straw was when a popular national franchise straight up lied about replacing parts that they were found not to have done. Cedar Garage has been such a breath of fresh air. They made me feel at ease right from the start, excellent communication and customer service. They explain everything in a way that a non-expert can understand without being patronising. Friendly, honest, and fair. I also appreciate that they have women represented in lots of different roles there, from reception to the garage. It may seem like a small thing but in a predominantly male dominated industry, it can sometimes be intimidating to female patrons like myself. Seeing myself represented in the Cedar Garage staff made me feel more at ease and my fears of being dismissed because of presumptions about my knowledge of cars soon disappeared. I won't hesitate to bring my car back in again if needed and highly recommend to others.

They never replace anything that isn't necessary, advising you how long your tyres etc will last until they need replacing. The waiting area is clean, tidy and comfortable with refreshments available. After sampling various garages across Worthing, I opted for and have remained using Cedar garage for well over a decade. They are honest (even if I might not like the truth), reasonably priced, and accessible. A fair range of staff (fostering a positive atmosphere), always willing to share tips. Whether that be a quick touch up, longer term staged refurb, etc, Cedar are pragmatic and fair. Whilst my car underwent a simple MOT this time, I have never had reason to feel unhappy in any way. From start to finish, I received an excellent service. I had driven over some large pot holes and damaged both front and back passenger side tyres. I also heard a clonking noise when I reversed and turned right. I booked my car in for a tyre inspection, change and a noise diagnostic. Spoke to the office team, who managed to book my car in quickly and work around my shift patterns as a nurse. I had to do a ten minute drive with one of the engineers so he could hear the noise. Very professional service, which included text reminders of my booking. I had an issue with a sliding door which subsequently did not need repairing only cleaning. The price I was quoted to diagnose the fault was then reduced which is a nice touch. An email is also sent once the inspection is carried out which covers the whole car. Last year we had a very intermittent issue with our Ford S-MAX where it would not start. So intermittent it had been happening for 2 years but was starting to become a more regular thing. Even then it wasn't a quick or easy fix but they persisted and found a very small chaffed wire behind the dash board. Prebook my car for MOT . Handed the keys in less than 5 minuts and i was out . 2 hours later I received MOT test result by email and also received call and was informed that there was a nail in the rear passenger tyre and repair would cost extra and asked if I wanted to proceed.I said yes. When i went to pick up the car they told me no repair was necessary. Nail was removed . No extra charge. Hard to find honest garages really. Very happy with all the service.

I have used Cedar twice now and on both occasions I came out with excellent work being done AND less money being paid. For example, my last visit needed the driver’s chair removing for a leather repair elsewhere. I was quoted an all in price of £90. But when I had the seat put back in and was ready to pay the bill they said the labour time was less than they thought and was less than one hour all in, so I was charged £67.50. I don’t think that has ever happened to me before! But that’s the nature of this place - great quality and honest.

Update I have just had my Jaguar XF MOT done by Cedar. The guys there went above and beyond by carrying out this the day before it was booked as they had a slot at the end of the day. Cedar recently did a major service and MOT on my Jaguar XF and during the MOT inspection they discovered that a recent argument with spot hole had snapped a front suspension coil. The work was carried out really quickly and at a very reasonable price. In addition I requested an investigation into an electrical issue whereby the drivers door control buttons had stopped working and the outside temp was displaying extreme low temp ie -47c. They found and fixed the fault (break in the wiring loom passenger side front). More than happy with these guys and the prices they charge. Previously they had worked on my Saab and BMW as below. Excellent service, they did work on my BMW for headlights and washer motor and to try and find a fault on the engine management that 2 other garages had failed to resolve! Not only more competitive than the others (one of which claimed to be a BMW specialist) but have found the problem and are resolving it. They kept me informed all the way and stuck to the quote. Brilliant guys really friendly and do a fantastic job. Will use these guys from now on.

Having up until this point used my local main dealer for servicing and repair, I decided now was the time to use an independent garage. Having read online reviews and asked for quotations for the work I needed from two garages I chose Cedar. What particularly impressed me was their communication, particularly when they informed me that some of the work I thought needed doing was not necessary at this time. This saved me around £300. a more cynical operator would have kept quiet. The work they did do was completed on time and explained when I collected my car. Cedar Garage is by far the best garage in Worthing and is the best garage I have ever used. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and 100% trustworthy. They have saved my bacon several times. I once phoned them at 5pm in a real state as I had just crashed my husband's car. He needed it the next day in order to drive to the airport for work. Despite being extremely busy, they got on the case straight away and ordered the part they needed then and there. By 11 am the next morning it was all fixed and as good as new. Another time, my car broke down with 3 children in it. I called them in a panic and they reassured me 100% and told me to get the tow truck to bring it straight to them. I am not someone who writes many reviews but Cedar garage goes above and beyond the call of duty and offers an outstanding service which I feel deserves to be commended. Do not go anywhere else! Even from my rubbish description and without even looking at the car themselves, they knew exactly what the problem was and explained how it was likely to have happened. Kev even threw in a full MOT, timing belt change and software updates for the car. I needed to bring the car in under warranty for a few minor matters and Cedar were brilliant! They dealt with all the matters I raised, and did not charge me. This included changing an oxygen sensor which improved the fuel economy of the car. Please do not hesitate to use Cedar Garage. All of the staff that I dealt with were courteous and very helpful. I would trust them to deal with my car and I would happily buy from them again. In fact, I would seriously consider bringing in my car to them again from London for the full service when it falls due, because that's how much I trust them. In March I had to have a new turbo fitted on my vehicle, however this developed a fault & contacted the garage about it. I have never recommended a car garage to friends until i moved to Worthing and found Cedar. Their counter service is as first rate as the workshop team and the work done. Its not hard to see why they have received several business awards nor why I leave their premises happy/reassured. Their unwillingness to do unnecessary work is one of the reasons i recommend. Despite having a decent understanding of automotive mechanics, in the past i have often come across garages and garage staff who insist on attempting to over-prioritise jobs that may very well need doing at some point but are not essential. Cedar don't. Workshop time is well priced for the skills involved. They're also French car specialists, another reason that I also suggested them to my Williams V6 owning colleague.

I used Cedar Garage for the first time around a year or so ago. I was having a particularly hard time with my Volvo and I noticed that they were a Volvo independent garage so thought I would give them a shot. To cut a long story short, in the last year or so they have performed diagnostics, an MOT, a service and various repairs and this has been of very good quality. There were some big problems with my car and were going to be many more if I had kept it for another couple of years. Instead of a bill for hundreds of pounds and probably more over the next few years, they gave me some good advice and have saved me more headaches with that car. They even spent time on some reports at no cost to me to help me out. Although they lost out on a lot of money from me on that car, they have gained a loyal customer for many years to come.

A few weeks ago they tried something new and let me have the car back, without paying the bill, to use it and to see if the issue recurred. When I confirmed today that the problem seemed to finally be sorted they charged me for the part but waived the labour charge (and I'm pretty sure that there was a significant amount of labour involved!). This really is a garage that knows the meaning of customer service and I would certainly not consider taking my car anywhere else! Why would I when I can get excellent service like this locally! Had a few jobs previously an anti roll bar, cost me 40 pound all in.. fine.. along comes my MOT was quoted 445. 225 for some welding, in which I would have had to wait a week to book it. understandable as they are quite a busy garage, not my cup of tea as i needed by car by the Monday as that's when the mot run out, phoned up on the Friday and was told Thursday. Didn't get the work done here as I got it almost half the price. when phoning a different garage on the tuesday and got it done on wednesday. Brilliant! couldn't ask for a better or more friendly service, they have sorted my car out on several issues and even solved my mystery oil leak. despite my obvious complete lack of knowledge of all things car they give me honest prices and easy explanations and don't treat me like a silly lady (which admittedly i am).
