I took my car in with a warning light and I hadn’t even called beforehand. They were busy but still looked at it within 30mins. The customer service is absolutely outstanding and they are brilliant at explaining things (when I know very little about cars). Also way cheaper than other garages I requested quotes from. Grant (the branch manager) managed to squeeze me in for a fix so we could get home the next day. The locking wheel nut was missing, the guys persevered and managed to get it off with a remover tool. Service was fantastic and I can’t think the guys enough for getting me out of a tough spot!

Dan was an absolute star I went for a new tyre as I thought my run flat tyre was punctured and run flats cannot be repaired. I left my car and went for a coffee while the new tyre was fitted but before I had chance to get a copy Dan phoned to say it was not the tyre that was the problem it was my alloy wheel that was cracked. By the time I had walked back to look at the damaged wheel Dan had booked me in for the wheel to be repaired at an alloy wheel repairer for the following day! What a service I could not thank Dan enough for arranging my alloy wheel repair as I would have had no idea where to get the wheel repaired myself. I would just like to say a big thank you to Kwik Fit Foss Island for the excellent service provided.

I've brought my car here twice recently for quite minor things that some garages I know wouldn't want to do - replacing a single tyre valve and reattaching a big plastic cover that fell off underneath the engine. They've been very happy to help, done it well and quickly, and charged pretty low prices. Very happy with this Kwik Fit Plus! UPDATE - can't bring myself to leave it at 5 stars as that plastic cover fell off again a week later and I realised they'd just put a few cable ties on and presumably not enough...

Got a pair of tyres on two cars on successive days as there was a 10% off on premium tyres overall the service appears good car ready on time etc though they did not front to rear tyres as requested on one car due to concerns over the age of the rear tyres so safety/risk averse first priority fair enough. Definitely a price sensitive purchase though I can see that with Staples buying National Tyres they are becoming a dominant player in the market so not good for consumers.

I first spoke to Hannah and she was very professional and helpful with my rather specific needs for very specific tyres. After this very good first impression I ordered tyres for 2 different cars (Porsche 911 & Lexus SC430) as I had a good impression and the Black Friday pricing was very very attractive. I then had an unforeseen problem(flat tyre) with a third car (BMW 335d touring) and turned up unannounced and met Grant who Hannah had told me would be looking after me when the first two cars were booked in. Grant fitted me in with very little notice and we quickly established the wheel was very badly damaged and not holding any air, therefore leaving me with an immobile car till the wheel could be mended or replaced. Grant was extremely helpful, professional and flexible, he suggested and called around for repair options. He even took myself and the damaged wheel in his own car to a wheel repair company across York. When the wheel couldn't be fixed in time for school run he agreed to fit in the Porsche (booked for the next day) to get it safe for the cold icy weather we had yesterday. The Lexus was done today and both cars were done smoothly and professionally at a very good price. The BMW damaged wheel situation is live but Grant has been extremely helpful and flexible and made it alot less stressful while the wheel is being mended. I am in the service industry and really appreciate good service and quality people. I can happily say that Grant and his team are very good and I have no hesitation in recommending them. In conclusion it is rare to find keenly priced professional service with quality people, that has been my experience with Grant and his team at Kwik Fit Foss Islands Road, York.

I had my car looked at by the Kwik fit Foss island branch. Was booked in by Grant and was told to take a seat while my tires were changed. As I was waiting Grant was dealing with a multitude of customers with various problems. The way he handled each customer that came in to the office area with the upmost professional manner even though he was on his own is something that you don't see very often any more. He is a credit to the branch and the company as a whole.

Had a slow puncture on the offside rear of my Kuga, I managed to get my appointment time wrong (it was 10.30, i turned up at 3.30pm!) Isaac took it all in his stride and fitted me in in great good humour. Left it with them for 1hr and when i returned they had done 2 repairs to the tyre for a very reasonable cost. Noticed my brakes where grinding, so I was passing the Foss Island branch of Kwik Fit, thought I would pop in on the off chance, explained the situation to a gentleman in the main reception area, he took my keys and said he would squeeze me in. A reasonable experience with Kwik Fit. Most of the work got carried out quickly and what seems a fair price. Only issue was my new tyre which was required after inspection wasn't fitted. Good communication and on hearing front and back needed adjusting I gave them the go ahead and 20 mins later it was done. Stopped off on the way back from our holiday because the tyre pressure warning was coming up repeatedly after just filling up the tyres a couple of days ago. This made us believe that there was a slow puncture in one of the tyres. One of my tyres was losing air and I couldn't immediately see why. Was a bit hesitant to go to Kwikfit as all I was really looking for was a diagnosis and worried that I'd be talked into this that and the other. WRONG. Despite being a busy Sunday during lockdown, they managed to fit me in immediately and had the car ready to drive off within 30 mins. They'd diagnosed it and because it only required a tiny new part, they sorted it and sent me on my way. I urgently required a new exhaust and the part was ordered for me at 8.30am on a Saturday and delivered from Leeds and fitted in the space of that morning. I had 4 tyres fitted to my wife’s Golf, This took an hour and a half which was considerably longer than I expected and would have been a lot quicker if the person fitting the tyres had stayed with the job instead of disappearing, additionally two of the tyres are of the correct speed rating, the other two are a higher speed rating. This was pointed out to me by the Kwik Fit staff however I had ordered the tyres a week before and the correct tyres should have been available. The price was good.

Got in at 8.30 to then told they only have 1 member of staff and it'll be 4.30 before it's ready. Would it hurt to actually contact people to say you're short staffed? Complete lack of customer service and lack of understanding that it might be frustrating for the customer who had to wait around. Avoid as they obviously do not care about customers

Went with a deflated tyre, they checked and replaced the valve core, carried out a 4 wheel alignment check all f.o.c. I did then have alignment corrected which I paid for. Good service.

Although Kwik fit staff were under pressure due to staff absentees because of ill health. The staff who assisted me took time to explain issues with my car. drove me home while car was being repaired and collected me to pick up my repaired vehicle. My car initially failed its MOT, the work required was completed by my regular garage. When i returned to Kwik Fit they could not fit me in for the re test until after the 10 day period. Excellent. Booked online with the Express Service (added £10 but still the cheapest) to fit one tyre (due to puncture). My husband literally booked it at 3:45pm and I was there at 4pm getting it fitted. It was odd that when I rang it was more expensive and was told it would be the next day before they could fit it. I say book online! The reception was great and when I picked up the car there was another young man there who offered to get milk from the back to cool down my little one's hot chocolate we made in the waiting area. Took my car in for an MOT to York Foss islands road branch, the customer service i received was really impressive, the manager Grant was very professional, polite and courteous, I have a dog and was worried that he would be left outside in the rain but he was also well taken care of and even provided a bowl of water, really impressed with the overall experience and will go back again!

On 16th March, I replaced all four tyres together and did wheel alignments as recommended for four as well. While the tyres' pressure are 235, 225 in front and 225, 265 in the rear. I think all four tyres pressure should be balanced, I can accept a little bit difference as error, but one tyre of 265 in winter made me feel it is not professional enough, because the pressure will goes up to over 300 in summer which could shorten its service life.

Excellent place, very understanding, quality work. I'm a Motability customer but I do know that they charge £25 for a puncture repair. They also check with the customer before they do anything. There was a couple needing a new battery whilst we were there today & they came and asked for the radio code before replacing the battery. I can happily recommend them and since they are Motability's approved place for tyres, that is an endorsement by Motability too.

KwikFit get a hard time but the lads normally look after you if you are straight with them. Failed MOT on a bulging tyre that I would never have seen, retested FOC 7 days later even though they didn't replace the tyre themselves. Always haggle for a price, they can normally do 'something'
