Absolutely 1st class service. The guys are both friendly and helpful. I had to change my appointment at short notice and bring it forward a couple of days, and they juggled things to fit me in. Can not recommend MOT Shop enough.... If i can trust them with my McLaren, then you rest assured they will look after you.

I've used The MOT Shop for a few years and I can't fault them. They're friendly, knowledgeable, and honest and the service is completely independent, so you know they're not going to try to sell you unnecessary parts/services. They managed to fit me in at short notice this morning, then again for a recheck in the afternoon. Really pleased with the service. I would absolutely recommend.

Easy and professional. These guys don't do any work themselves - only the testing. This means they have no reason to fail you unless the vehicle really is unsafe. If all is well you will be in and out in 35 mins.

Absolutely brilliant service, I rang last minute in a flap as a different garage had let me down after pre booking an MOT, I rang these guys and they told me to come straight in (desperately needed it for work) and it was done within the hour, super friendly and even helped me collapse my pram as I was clearly having a bad day! Did the MOT on my '08 Civic. Work was done on schedule and even though it failed, they were precise about what specific work needed doing and were really easy to arrange a simple retest with. Since they only do MOTs it didnt feel like they were going to try to sell you any unnecessary work. Would definitely recommend to others who just want a simple, no messing MOT

No issues with giving a 5 star rating here.I have been taking my cars to the MOT shop for over 20 years without any cause for concern, I’ve always been treated fairly, and have found the guys there very helpful, often going the extra mile, had my two vehicles in for test this week, always a nervous time!! One car failed due to a failed bulb but the owner personally offered to fit a bulb to enable it to pass, it took him about twenty minutes and I was happy to pay for it but he wouldn’t accept any payment, that’s a rare thing these days. I trust these guys to be fair and reasonable with my vehicles and because they don’t do any repairs as they have no vested interest in failing my vehicle, I know that if my vehicle fails it’s for a genuine reason, for my safety and that of others and I’m happy with that and will continue to use them for all my MOTs in the future and so should you if you want to be sure of a fair and honest appraisal of your car at that dreaded MOT!!

I was really impressed with the service. The staff were polite, honest, helpful and fast they gave me advice on problems that did need attention and a rough idea on how to tackle said problems which was verry helpful as I repair my own vehicles myself as much as I can. They also did mine and my partners vehicles at the same time which saves alot of hassle! I will definitely be returning and I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't want a run for there money and time.

Chose this place after Facebook recommendations for an Mot. Lovely chaps who are straight taking 😁 Fast service and flexible, our car failed but only on minor work that was done the same day around the corner and they redid the test an hour later. No complaints and it’s great to find somewhere that don’t offer repairs and so there’s no incentive to rip you off to then charge silly money to do the work. Will definitely go there next year if they’ll let the Alfa in 👍 cheers guys.

Good honest guys work here ,if your bike / car is properly road worthy you’ve nothing to worry about , As a biker I’ve used them for the last five years , always fair , always on the ball , in and out in half an hour and you can watch the MOT being carried out.

The MOT was done quickly and on time and the result (a pass) was fair. The guy pointed out a couple of bits which needed some preventative attention, and which don't warrant a mention on the MOT form, which was appreciated since I do my own servicing. I'll go back next year.

Unbiased MOT centre, they don't do repairs so don't benefit from failing your car, I have fallen fowl of this elsewhere in York. I have used these guys for years and have recommend to my friends who have been equally happy.
