Reviews of The Pantry

Simply put: The best brunch I have ever had. I don't want to even rate this with five stars to tell other people about this place as I don't want it to be busy when I next go to Edinburgh (coming from Kent, it's not often I will visit).
The food was divine and well worth the little walk outside the main city centre to it, I truly have not stopped thinking about my meal, take a look at the photos if you don't believe me!
K. L.
Visited an hour before its closing time so got a table straight away. We had the avocado toast with smoked salmon and waffle with blueberries and maple syrup. For the avocado toast one can have additional hot smoked salmon, which is more delicious with a smokier flavour than typical smoked ones. However the waffle itself was unimpressive, not with the most desirable texture, although the blueberry jam was quite appetizing, not sure if it was house-made. One snag doesn’t make it a bad meal (though not a minor minus), anyway we may give it another try.
機.
Highly recommended!! Nice food and good service. The blueberry waffle is super delicious. The blueberry jam is very fresh. And the smoked salmon is super good as well!!!

We came for a quick breakfast and a nice coffee which was in the end a great experience with delightful and very helpful service. The food was a masterpiece and taste was amazing. I love the modern style of the restaurant and all the details like plates and glasses. We had all we needed to kickstart the day in the best possible way. ☀️

Came here at the recommendation of a food YouTuber but clearly they didn’t know what they were talking about.
We waited about 20 minutes to be seated and thankfully they were able to text us when our table was ready so we had the chance to walk around.
When we got to our table, we ordered Eggs Benny and a duck dish. It was past 11 AM so we couldn’t order from their breakfast menu.
The eggs Benny were alright, nothing really to brag about other than plating and presentation. The duck dish was lackluster at best. The flavors were non existent. The only thing that saved us were the side order of chips (hash browns) that we ordered.
J. P.
Really happy we went to this place. Bit of a wait for a table (to be expected and allowed for a stroll around Stockbridge) but despite the popularity, inside is really roomy and you don't feel crammed in at all. Food was great and really generous portions - in including a side portion of 6 (six!) hash browns.
K. M.
Good and fast service, had the blueberry waffles and they were amazing. Seated immediately despite not being able to book and everything came so quick we were only here a total of half an hour (on a Saturday too when the place was full.) The coffee is really good too.
H. A.
My favourite local brunch place with really friendly staff and generous portions. Highly recommend trying bread and hash browns as they are incredible. Recommend booking ahead if you're planning on eating during the weekend as they can get pretty busy.
R. k.
We had a brunch here on a Sunday. The wait was for an hour, but it was worth it.
As it is crowded, you can feel the stuff are a bit rushed. Still, they were nice and accommodating.
Portions are generous. I had the ‘Sunshine on Stockbridge’ and was amazed by the amount and diversity of flavor.
The Cortado was a bit too milky for me. Although I’ve ordered it with less milk, I believe they skipped the note.
One more thing I liked is that their brunch menu is an all day.
J. K. K.
No available booking, but it there is fully seat, you can write down ur name. I arrived at 9.30am that was their last seat even out side.
But food is amazing. I usually don’t give 5stars for restaurant, this place deserves 5stars. This place is the best branch restaurant in the Edinburgh new town.
V. D. P.
Really delicious breakfast. My partner said it was the best avocado on toast he’s ever had. I would come early as it can get very crowded.
D. W.
It’s really great to see somewhere do something inventive with a classic brunch menu. The place has a genuinely friendly vibe and theyre pleased to have you visit. A pretty varied menu and a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. They also can take your number and text you when your table is available, very convenient.
E. M.
Delicious food, great coffee! And I don’t offer out great coffees lightly. Such an awesome find! Portions are good and prices fair. A busy and lively atmosphere. Really enjoyed our brunch here. Will be back for sure.
J. B.
You can see why this place doesn’t take bookings; they could fill this place a few times over just for breakfast! The food was stylish and tasty and the staff were really attentive. It’s worth braving the cold to sit outside if it’s full inside because the food is excellent.
M. T.
Really tasty breakfasts, not one to miss when visiting Edinburgh.
Staff are friendly and attentive. Very clean and organised. Make sure you get here early to beat the people traffic!
K. B.
We planned to go to another breakfast place, but they had no room. I did a quick Google Maps search, and found The Pantry. Did not disappoint! Thank you Google reviewers!
The staff were incredibly greeting and friendly. Very nice laid back ambience. We had various dishes on their breakfast/all day breakfast, and wow, incredibly tasty. The coffee was excellent too. You cannot go wrong here, really impressed.
D.
Great service, lovely brunch, good options for those with dietary requirements. The chai latte is a must and the best I ever had !!
J. B.
So make a booking or prepare to queue from opening time because this place fills out immediately. I got the complete breakfast and it did not disappoint. Everything was cooked to perfection and it was extremely tasty. Lovely way to start the morning and some good coffee with it.
L. M.
Each time I am at the Pantry, I try a new dish and am always happy with what I got. They serve breakfast until 11 and brunch all day with tasty mimosas.
The “breakfast chips” on the menu are a huge bowl of hash browns, always a good addition to brunch!
Great staff and a good waiting system in place - they take your number and you can keep track of the waiting time while you explore Stockbridge nearby.
Note - The Pantry has steps into the building so it is not accessible and could be difficult with prams.
Z. H.
Food is clearly good but the service is not good enough for a place demanding these prices. Food arrived cold. Like refrigerator cold. I suspect the waitress just forgot about our table.
Also, strangely, 8% service charge added to bills for tables between 1and 4 people. Why not just make everything 8% more expensive?
A. D.
The best place we had breakfast in Edinburgh after a week of staying here. The food is reasonably priced and you get large portions. Light airy furnishings, the staff are kind and attentive, and the coffee is fabulous. Come for the food, leave full in both stomach and soul.
J. H.
Pan Fry was quite of bit of food but it was worth eating all of it. Never had black pudding or Haggis and it was delicious! I found after what it was and it was still delicious! I would go back and eat the breakfast again.
My wife enjoyed the Eggs Benny very much with the smoked salmon added. The coffee americano wasn't the greatest, but the flat white was good. I'm not going to knock the americano because I never enjoyed them in the first place.
V. K.
This place is the go to if you want to have an amazing breakfast, brunch, lunch. The food is simply delicious and the drinks are great too.
The only issue is that they don't have a booking system something that would have made the whole experience so much better as normally I have to go give my details and be called about 40 mins later to be told to go back for food.
1. S.
Really good brunch
the flavour is very rich
m.
Best breakfast place in Edinburgh! Pantry is always busy and they don't take bookings, but it's worth to wait for a table. Friendly staff and unbelievable food.
J. L.
Mouth-watering breakfast in a wonderful Stockbridge setting, great coffee, lovely staff, and Bloody Mary’s with your desired level of spice. What more do you want?
E. D.
Visit date - 13/06/21
Really nice all day brunch spot! Staff are very friendly and were very accomodating on a busy day! The food was incredible and great value for money too. Would highly recommend!
R. H.
Great brunch spot - only had to wait about 25 mins at a peak time (1pm on a Saturday). Good food and great coffee!
G. C.
First time visiting this place and don't know why it has taken me so long. Was very buay when we arrived but didn't gave to wait too long for a table. Food was reasonably quick also all things considered. I had the Lamb Flatbread and my partner had the Sunshine on Stockbridge. Both of us more than happy to make a return visit soon..
V. C.
Great location, wonderful food, friendly staff! Fantastic selection even for vegetarians like myself, lovely coffees too!
Please note, there is a additional service charge tho.
R. D.
The place is in a very good location.
They were very organised and had shields to separate the tables.
Amazing service, very quick and attentive.
We accidentally dropped a knife and in less than 5 seconds we had a clean one without even asking.
Detail oriented, beautiful decoration.
The only thing I’ve missed, was having the coffee at the same time at the toast, as it was already cold when they bring the food.
J. Z.
I liked it.
We really enjoyed our food. I did not expect it to be satisfying because the portions appear small - the sunshine is basically just vegetables, and the USA/eggs benny just has one piece of bread and some toppings. But it was actually surprisingly filling and we did not leave hungry.
The flavours were really good in the savoury dishes, but I was a bit disappointed with the matcha french toast - I did not taste any matcha in there at all. But that's absolutely fine, it more than made up for it with the other flavours - the passion fruit, the white chocolate - delicious.
I enjoyed the coffee as well. The espresso tasted really good, but I feel like the milk could have been done a bit better. It was too bubbly and too frothy.
The interior of the cafe is lovely and very cozy, it has fantastic outside seating, great lighting, and the area is amazing. One of the staff members recommended a nearby location to visit and we had a really great time walking around the scenic streets of Stockbridge.
I'm giving it 4 stars because it was not very welcoming. We did not feel welcome on arrival and were rushed to our table, the staff member that greeted us was grumpy and rather rude. Also, we had to wait for quite a long time for someone to come and take our order despite multiple attempts to attract the servers' attention. The menu could use with more vegan options - there were only two or three things that could be made vegan in breakfast and brunch sections by substituting the eggs for some mushrooms. But it's really great for veggie.
It was nice for a one time visit and is definitely worth a go, but personally I don't think I'll be coming back for more.
E. s.
Great brunch, although definitely worth booking (if possible) as it was very busy. Waffles were the eggs benedict. The only thing that slightly let it down was the slow service but that I think is a product of it being busy. Outside is quite noise due to the cars on the cobbles
O. M.
Best brunch spot EVER. Beautifully presented, excellent flavours, good portion sizes.
K. D.
This place could be amazing, but I feel it is unfortunately a victim of its own success. It is too busy ( you get a table on 1st come 1st seated basis) to care and give a real thought about its customers & the feel of the place.
The concept is great, but the atmosphere, drinks and food does not live up to the expectations. I had the u.s.a ( umbiguas smashed avocado ) with hot smoked salmon ( served cold ? 🤔) it was nice, but only serve with one poached egg ( everything else gets two) and tiny weany piece of cold salmon ( at extra £3.00). Priced at £11.50 seems rather expensive.
The biggest disappointment & failure of the Pantry was their "Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice" - we order two glasses and it tasted like juice from concentrate - that unfortunately comes out of a cardboard box!! Yes, they do have an impressive machine and a few fresh oranges on show - from our experience it is all just for the show, but it has not been used a single time we were there. Plus one of the employees brought a full shopping basket packed with big cartons of orange juice which unfortunately confirmed our suspicion give the weird taste.
If you want to give The Pantry a try, I would suggest go during the week and maybe even out of "lunch hours" ( 12-2pm) and double check with the waiters what you are getting with/for your order to avoid any confusion or disappointment.
F. K.
Really good brunch, we didn't have a reservation but were lucky to get a table right away, several people after had to wait for quite some time to get seated.
We had the waffles and egg Benedict was really good. However there was a lack of atmosphere in the restaurant and the interior look very odd, and the style didn't match at all. So sad when you have everything else spot on. This is why it doesn't get five stars.
Anyway can really recommend it because of the food.
M. L.
Another great brunch, in glorious sunshine, at The Pantry made a sneaky Friday morning off exceptional. Breakfast was awesome with fabulous bacon 🥓 as was GF's USA 🥑 with hot smoked salmon... Flat whites and a green Matcha weird thing (not mine) also cool. Recommend highly.
C. N.
Great brunch with friends! The blueberry waffles with bacon were so good and everyone else’s food looked great
S. D.
Great all day brunch place. Great eggs Benny's and gluten free options are plentiful. Friendly staff.
N.
Yummy delicious breakfast 🤤 lovely place, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely I will be there again 🤍
A. S.
Delicious brunch options, especially the eggs benedict and sunny Stockbridge. The fresh orange juice is also delicious. It is busy at weekends so either arrive early or factor in that you will need to put your name down for a table. Luckily they use an automated service to keep you updated when your table will be ready. Worth the wait and Stockbridge is a lovely area to wander around. The staff are also friendly and attentive. Highly recommend.
D. M.
Came here because of the trip advisor reviews and it exceeded expectations for breakfast, and was full by 10am Sunday morning.
Would recommend anyone try brunch here, slightly more $$ than your average, but good sized portions & top quality grub on a varied interesting menu - and incredible waffles!!
High quality food in a great setting.
Only downside was the tiny serving of coffee in a dinky China cup, would like the option of a larger mug. Otherwise 10/10.
A. A.
The Pantry is one of the best places for breakfast and brunch at Edinburgh! I would definitely suggest the waffles! They were delightful! The grilled vegetables with poached eggs were lovely, but I would suggest the Benedict!
C. H.
We love visiting Stockbridge to sample the quality local eateries & breakfast was the order of the day-the Pantry is one of our favourites, a cool place to eat.
As you can see we sampled a variety of the b’fasts with the waffles spectacularly delicious (as described by the kids), veggie option good- mushroom, egg & beans tasty with halloumi only a little disappointing. Chocolate brownie (to share lol), was delightful.
Coffees always first class & I sampled a turmeric latte which was nice, fresh orange juice excellent. Staff & service up to scratch & every table was busy!
Be early at the weekend or prepare to wait but please wait as it is worth it, it’s a 4 star + with food spot on but London prices & loo facilities adequate.
Please don’t misinterpret the review, this is a top spot to visit & I believe in telling it as I experience it. We will be back soon.
C. S.
Fantastic for brunch! Very friendly and efficient staff. Tasty food. Dogs welcome. It ticks all the boxes. If we had one trivial criticism, it's that they seem to have stopped doing specials which was always a nice option for a regular.
E. L.
U.S.A is graciously delicious and the cakes are also splendid!!
I was too full and too rude to leave the cake half undone...😢I am sorry!
Please have a taste here you won’t be disappointed!!
Also the staffs are so nice and cute!!
L. C.
Great food, very nice atmosphere. The staff is friendly and well-mannered. There is a bit of a waiting time before you can be seated but that's due to the popularity of the place. I was happy to wait both times I went there.
I had the avocado and poached egg on toast with salmon and it was delicious. The tea was very good too, and enough for a few cupfuls, which is always a plus for me.
For dessert a friend and I shared the waffles, which were doughy and crispy and not too sweet, just as a waffle should be. The extra sweetness was to be had with a very good portion of maple syrup. By the end of the meal my belly was full and my heart was happy.
Loved the fact that they have a lot of leaflets on Edinburgh events that you can take for free with you.
D. L.
Delicious food in a beautiful setting! The cafe is also well prepared for Covid measures with plexiglass dividers and lots of hand sanitiser. Walk in only (to my knowledge)
L. R.
Great waffles and coffee. Came for brunch on our second day in the city, would definitely recommend a visit if you're in the area. Staff were friendly and we were seated quickly. There was a good range of choices in the menu, we'd both opted for the waffles. They were light and fluffy inside and crisp. So tasty with maple syrup poured over.
S. S.
Not worth a 40 min wait.
Not terrible, not amazing, just ok :)
J. O.
Fantastic breakfast place. Located on the town side of stock bridge the pantry has excellent coffee with fantastic food. They serve breakfast and lunch along with cakes and snacks. The one down side of this place is that it can be quite noisy.
T. H.
Great vegetarian brunch, fab hot chocolate, with marshmallows and cream. Eclectic selection of well presented plates with fresh ingredients. Even have San Pellegrino. 😎🤩🚀
F. M.
Perfect place for a lunch. I had a veggie toast with smashed egg which was very good. My son liked his waffles. 🥑🥯🥚🥞 nice people working here ❤️
C. D.
Best brunch ive had in Edinburgh. Might need to wait a while to get a table but its worth it!
M. K.
Wonderful food, friendly staff, and comfy decor. Has food for all different tastes and diets. I had the rabbit burger. I've had rabbit a few times and this is the best one I've had. They also have a decent tea selection. Definitely would recommend going by.
J. W.
I came here for brunch and really enjoyed our dish. Chunky toast topped with smashed avocado with poached egg and salmon. Really hearty plate of food. Large restaurant and the staff are friendly and there is no push for you to leave straight after eating.
Y. G.
Excellent food & drinks. Fast service and warm atmosphere. I arrived shortly after opening and my drink and food both arrived in less than 5 mins! Perfect for a quick stop but also lovely spot to meet friends etc.
A.
Absolutely amazing waffles, blueberry compote, maple and bacon. Huge portion. ALSO great coffee but service was so slow on the coffee. Lovely cosy quirky decor and good atmosphere as place very busy. We went in for Sunday morning brunch and would highly recommend for this. Staff very friendly and very quick to sort a table out for us even though pretty much full.
V. W.
Delicious breakfast and brunch!! Exciting and extensive menu. Great coffee. They offer alternatives for those with food allergy or health concerns, which is a plus. Highly recommended for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Try to come early on the weekend or after 2pm because it can get really busy!
I. C.
Brunch plates are so good and they are inexpensive!!! But I guess I didn't enjoy Haggis / Black Pudding. Staffs are very nice and friendly to us too.
E.
Unlike the other reviews, we arrived at a rather quiet time, around 4pm, so no problems with getting seated. Service was quick, and we enjoyed the food.
S. E.
An excellent brunch spot near Stockbridge with friendly staff and filling dishes. I had the eggs Benedict with pulled short ribs. Highly recommended as one of the top brunch locations in the city.
f. o.
This place makes the best coffee in Edinburgh period! Not over roasted, you can actually taste the coffee flavour through the drink...the food is amazing, fresh and local. Absolutely worth the wait. It was so good we are going back two days in a row!
A. P.
Very kind staff, amazing food and coffee. Definitely recommend it. 🤗
K. M.
Based on the reviews we were pretty lucky to get a table almost immediately, super friendly service & atmosphere. Food was so good we contemplated walking here every morning even though we had so many other places we wanted to explore & so little time in Edinburgh. Already looking forward to our next trip up so we can visit again! Relaxed space, great art and prints on the walls and awesome playlist while we sat down for brunch. Ticked all the boxes.
C. H.
This place does REALLY good brunches. They don’t take bookings so it’s a virtual queuing system, but it genuinely is worth the wait. The ‘sunshine on stockbridge’ is great, and would recommend the eggs benny. Really great brunch spot.
A. A.
Amazing place for breakfast, loved the eggs Benedict with salmon and the cappuccino was really delicious.
a. h.
Lovely food and staff were nice to deal with. Only minor thing was there was a lot going on the plate but would highly recommend it
S. G.
Wow the food and staff was excellent, probably worth booking a table as they were busy, will be going back
A. C.
Amazing food, would recommend to anyone
S.
Very recommendable place for a great breakfast in Stockbridge. Food is fresh and very tasty. Make sure you make a reservation ahead of time as it can get very busy.
T. M. M.
Friendly staff and delicious food. Was buzzing even on a weekday morning, I can see why!
M. S.
One of the best breakfast my husband and I have ever had. We wished we would have had more time because we would have gone back.
A. M.
Excellent food. Great choice of dishes with a really interesting menu. Great service.
R. H.
Love love love. Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend the USA smashed avo on (beautiful) sourdough and a perfect poached egg. Fresh, colourful and tasty coffee to boot! Got stuck in too quick so including a halfway eaten pic... :)
A. Ž.
Exquisite breakfast, perfect coffee and amazing atmosphere. What else could you want?
M. B. T.
Great breakfasts and excellent coffee. We had waffles, mushrooms and feta on sourdough and good eggs bacon, sausage with my first tasting of haggis. The portions were generous, the dishes were well presented
F. D. M.
We really enjoyed having breakfast at The Pantry!
We highly recommend it for its food and location. The staff is super nice, welcoming and they were checking on us to make sure everything was good and we didn't need anything else.
In the menu the are many options of savoury and sweet dishes, even for vegetarian and vegan, and the orange juice is freshly squeezed!
They also have alternatives to the dairy milk.
G. D.
Lovely staff, very helpful with baby. Food was simple but really well done and creative.
P. Q.
Nice spot for brunch. I had the waffles and enjoyed the incorporation of the classic peanut butter and jam concept on it (really worked). The rest of the menu looked great so will have to come again and certainly try the rest.
A. P.
Seated quickly on a Friday afternoon and ordered the Bugs Bun. Great lunch spot. Only criticism is that it would have been nice if the brioche bun was toasted.
N. T.
Cozy and quaint bistro. The food presentation was something out of a magazine. It tastes just as good as it was presented. Service was great as well.
W. B.
Great place for brunch/lunch, with a superb coffee choice and draught beer
P. D.
Beautifully presentation of food! The taste was so good. We really enjoy our the breakfast. The place is cozy and fantastic.
J. Q.
Absolutely delicious. Definitely up there with one of the best breakfasts we had.
S. W.
One of the best brunches I’ve ever had (and I’ve had a lot!) wonderful flavours and good portion sizes. I liked the fact you could be put in a virtual queue to wait so could go off and explore Stockbridge whilst waiting for a table. Friendly staff too.
O. L.
Excellent! Well worth the wait (and hype)!!
B. G.
Had the mushrooms with feta which was really really good. Queued a little bit but it wasn't even that long given the area it's in. Has really lovely vibe to it that didn't put me off even though i am a curmudgeon. Didn't get five stars due to too much sage on the plate and coffee a lil weak for my liking..

Awesome food (try the blueberry waffles with bacon!) with a great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
S. C.
A great spot for brunch! Highly recommend the Vegi breakfast
I. D.
Great waffles. Had to wait over an hour to get a table. No reservation possible. Overall enjoyed my time there.
l. r.
Me and my partner enjoyed a superb brunch. Highly recommend this place. I would say it’s one of the best brunches I have ever had. Wish I lived closer to eat here more regularly
P. B. W.
Probably the best breakfast we had in Edinburgh, lovely food!
J. E.
Absolutely spectacular breakfast. Came here in a low state, feeling under the weather and looking for some positive energy. The “pantry fry” breakfast delivered on multiple levels. I’d recommend this spot to anyone.
G. J.
Absolutely amazing food and friendly staff, highly recommend popping by!
M. M.
Super awesome breakfast! Definitely worth the visit.
A. A.
Good portions and fast service.
I liked their waffle and coffee.
S. R.
Excellent brunch with lovely staff. Long wait for a table but once seated we were served quickly. Long black coffee really not up to much though.
G. B.
A lovely spot for lunch as pictured. Just on the route out of Stockbridge, it's a very busy little place but worth it for the quality of the brunch. Definitely recommend.
D. O.
One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time, delicious. Really friendly staff and nice atmosphere
J. P.
Absolutely delicious lunch and always really quick and friendly service even when it's busy. The food is always fresh and you can tell the ingredients are fresh and top quality.
P.
Inspired and surprisingly good cooking in a simple café setting. Coffee very good too. Pic is of the 'full Scottish' which has to be the most beautifully presented fry up I've ever had.
R. B.
Superb breakfasts and brunches. Tasty coffee and sweet treats. Very busy but worth waiting outside to get a table.
S. M.
Great food with a reasonable service charge
r. g.
Excellent place for fans of food. Highly recommend esp the chickpea thing.

The Pantry is well known in Edinburgh. It is a Stockbridge iconic place for the last few years and here is why.
The ever changing menu is different from other brunch places and affordable for all budgets. The vibe is warm. The charity teapots and teacups are cute. The staff is friendly. And the location is perfect for a Sunday walk.
There is no booking system, just walk in and good luck! Clearly these people know what they are doing, it is always full. We had to wait half an hour for our table.
I had eggs Benedict, this time with roasted honey ham that blew my mind.
We had a very nice time in there and you should have it as well!
Thank you.
r. s.
One of the best places for brunch in Stockbridge. Lovely selection of vegetarian dishes
N. M.
Food was excellent we will definitely visit again next time we are in the area. We had the salmon eggs benedict and avocado toast, both were Amazing and very filling while not being overly heavy.
H. M.
Tasty Eggs Benny, great babies change room.
P. B.
Were down in Edinburgh for the weekend, staying in Stockbridge. Went for walk with the kids to try and find somewhere for lunch. Place looked busy so figured that was a good sign, and went in. Glad we did. It was really good. When we're back in the area we will defo be going back. Lots of really good choices and of which some are out of the norm. Would highly recommend.
M. H.
Amazing. Incredible chicken burger, haloumi fries and fantastic coffee too. The staff were also absolutely lovely. Understandably, there was a bit of a wait to get in so I'd definitely recommend booking, but they offer to text you when you're table is ready.
s. h.
The most consistently excellent breakfast in the city of Edinburgh. The menu is consistent, and meat and veggie options equally inviting. A star deducted stars only because of how challenging it can be to get a table. In saying that, if you're an early riser on a Sunday morning you'll have no problem.
A. W.
Great food, friendly staff, and they appear to be managing the rules around covid well. I had the U.S.A with hot smoked salmon and it was lovely. My friend had eggs Benedict and he was raving about them too. The restaurant was full when we arrived, but the staff took our phone number and text is 20 mins later once a table was free. Perfect. Looking forward to going back.
H. L.
One of the best brunch of Edimbourg, tasty and portions were Perfect.
We went on sunday morning but had to wait around 45 min.
A. B.
Great sunshine breakfast, good size portion and lovely service! Highly recommend!
A. K.
Food was good, customer service was okay but overall I think this place is overestimated. We had to wait 40 minutes in the rain and I can't say it was worth it.. The space is nothing special as well.
S. K.
A good place for breakfast but the choices for brunch were a bit limited.
N. W.
The best brunch I have had in years. Not only was it super tasty, it offered something different to the usual. A must for any weekend in Edinburgh.
C. W.
We've had an amazing brunch home delivery today. The pantry gave us amazing service allowing us to reschedule our delivery, and what was delivered was outstanding.
The attention to detail really sets this place apart, and it goes without saying, the quality and finish of the food was outstanding.
P. T. G.
Not gone in personally but the food looks pretty dang good. The atmosphere appears spot on, a delightful mix of open, airy and clean. Very pleasant to have such a cafe in the city and clearly the owner put much love into designing it. Hoping to see it busy & bringing the community back together after this dull lockdown.
Whoever done the floral work was spot on.

Found this place on google and thought we'd check it out after reading the amazing reviews. I ordered a veggie breakfast which was amazing the best part of the breakfast was the tattie scone, tomato and veggie haggis, the hash brown was a bit too crispy for my liking but i still ate it. The only thing in breakfast i didn't like was the mushroom otherwise everything else was great. Then my partner ordered a breakfast roll with an egg and hash brown inside the roll, it was the best breakfast roll he had tasted, he loved it so much he ordered the same dish again. I ended breakfast with the homemade belgian waffles these tasted amazing especially with the maple syrup and blueberries. For drinks I started off with fresh orange this was fresh squeezed and tasted amazing. Then I opted for the bollywood dream chai, which was okay but a little too weak for my liking. I will definitely be coming back here for the veggie breakfast, the waffles and the fresh orange juice :)

They serve the most amazing healthy brunches. The porridge I had there was honestly the best porridge I ever had.

we came here for brunch today as we stayed in Edinburgh this weekend! Can’t say how much we loved the place the food quality and how fresh are the ingredients.. the staff are absolutely AMAZING! Very friendly place and food was great. we asked for special plates which were not in the menu and they were very happy to provide us with the way we wanted! Usually some places make it difficult and awkward for the sake of it but the guys here in the pantry were so chilled and were like will serve you as u like!!
Seriously loved the place definitely on our list every time we come to Edinburgh also recommending it to everyone..

Came here for breakfast and the food was perfect. Great veggie options and amazing portion sizes! The staff were super helpful and friendly and the restaurant is really covid safe! Also so beautiful inside!

The queues outside the door and the reviews say it all - amazing place. Enthusiastic, helpful staff, GREAT menu choices with vegan and gluten free options all over the place. The eggs benedict is the best I've had anywhere. I just wish other Edinburgh cafes would endeavour to meet their standards!

Simple, it's a must visit!!! Friendly, attentive and the food was delectable right down to the most delicious turmeric latte. Even the paprika tomato was done splendidly and I'm upon the cusp of deciding if it was the best bit of the brunch, but it's just a tomato so surely it cannot claim that title, but damn it was surprisingly tasty, so maybe.....!!!! But don't just for visit for the tomato, but if you like tomato then maybe you should!!! Tomato.

We arrived for Sunday brunch. There was 45min wait so they took our name and gave us a time to come back which was useful. Food was lovely! I had the avocado with a poached egg. The wait was definitely worth it.

Fantastically priced for such an amazing breakfast. Portion was perfect and kept us going through the day.
We were first through the doors but the place filled up quickly. Was quick service but looked like a wait started as it got busier.
Never had so much flavour in a breakfast like that. Would definitely go again.
Was set up nicely inside and in a nice location too.

Some of the best eggs in town. Delicious ingredients put together very well. Tasty cakes and hot drinks - lovef the turmeric latte. Nice boho decor and a little outdoor seating. Always busy

Awesome breakfast had here, really recommend as if you can get in before the crowds

Great food, great atmosphere. Perfect for a lazy weekend brunch. Only disappointment are the decision to use small hipstery mugs for hot chocolate etc instead of a nice large ones that you really want on a cold winter's morning. Once again, the food is lovely! Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely delicious brunch in Stockbridge have been here 4 or 5 times. Great choice of egg dishes and good coffee too. Busy on the weekends so get in early or be prepared to join a queue. Lovely staff, very friendly and efficient.

My girlfriend and I were visiting Edinburgh for the weekend and decided to walk down to this quaint little cafe after reading good things about their breakfast items.
We were FAR from disappointed. We ordered two full breakfasts with some halloumi fries on the side and what we were served could comfortably be described and the single most delicious and satisfying breakfast that either of us have ever eaten, and that's saying a lot! We got a couple of lattes which were also outstanding.
Service was great too! The breakfasts were £11 each but I can honestly say that, having tried what's on offer, I would gladly pay that again.
Thanks guys!

Very good food for brunch or breakfast. Staff is lovely and available for customers. Negative point, they are so busy that it can take sometimes to get served and when you are finished, they kind of push you out. But 4 stars it is a good note.

Went in for some food before work, tremendous food and coffee 🤌🏼

A nice restaurant serving a wide range of homemade food and snacks. They took my order eventually once the people in front had finally heard what absolutely everything was. Was told to sit and it would be brought over. I guess they have different people for each job as it took a good five minutes for someone to bring over a Diet Coke and a couple bits of cake. I saw them sitting ready on the counter and could have easily brought it over myself. The cakes tasted okay, although what I'm assuming was a millionaires shortcake had a very hard biscuit bottom, rock hard chocolate and very soft 'caramel' middle (not sure it was caramel). A great play area for children although the gate opens in on the kids so need to be vigilant. Tables seemed very close together. Unfortunately restrooms are down a lot of steep steps and baby changing facilities not available, although one toilet has enough space for floor change. Definitely not suitable for wheelchair users or mobility issues.

The breakfast was tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly. Popular venue, well worth the wait.

Great menu and very delicious, high quality & well presented food here. The service is also excellent - very friendly and attentive. The prices are not cheap but certainly worth it for a treat. They can be slightly inconsistent - we ordered here on two occasions the same dish and on the second occasion, the portion size was much improved. Overall, highly recommended.

We just spent weekend in Edinburgh and been recommended this place. What a little gem. Came early before opening time but place was already filling up. Staff was lovely and served us quickly. Coffee nice and as my boyfriend said "the best egg Benedict I ever ate!" (And he is a fussy eater)thank you guys

I would suggest booking before hand as its exceptionally busy. The food is great quality though and the staff friendly. Shame the breakfast/brunch ends at 11.

Definitely worth the wait on a Saturday morning, they even give you blankets while you wait outside to keep you warm. The menu has lots of vegetarian and meat options. The coffee is fantastic. Good portion sizes and presentation is great.

Love the pantry, slightly more expensive but you can see why. Food all locally sourced and packed full of flavour. Great attention to detail with presentation and as a bonus it's family friendly with a little play area too 😊 Breakfast is a must! Yummy haggis !

Great food, beautiful decorated and the service was great. Highly recommended place for breakfast/brunch.

Best breakfast I've had in a long time. Recommend the Sunshine on Stockbridge with added halloumi.

SCRUMPTIOUS!! Truly the best chai tea latte with oat milk I've ever had. Absolutely delicious!

This is a lovely little place. Perhaps a bit busy at lunch time for us but the food more than made up for this. We had the scotch duck egg to start which was delicious. I then had the pulled pork burger which was fantastic. The pulled pork and the chips served with the burger are awesome. My other half had the special lamb burger, which I'm told was also great. We didn't have room for any cakes or scones but from what we saw there was a great selection. Maybe next time we'll leave room.

A stylish, cosy and friendly place for breakfast or lunch! We stopped in for lunch the other day and were so impressed. The staff were really friendly, the food was delicious and we loved the decor with chandeliers made from cake tins, baskets on the wall and edgy tweed cushions. Though there wasn't a huge variety of vegetarian options, the walnut and goats cheese bagel was so such a tasty combination that I'd go back for it time and time again.

This place was... Okay. We ordered eggs florentine and eggs benedict which were tasty, though a bit cold. Moreover, the place was very loud for a café and the service wasn't the greatest.

Very nice atmosphere, delicious food and lovely service. The eggs benny are a must have. Best brunch in town!

Good food but long waiting time, sad…

This is a great place for brunch, lunch, and probably dinner, although I haven't tried (yet!). Really nice interior, friendly, professional staff, decent value, and most importantly - amazing food. The rolls & sausage are insane. So good! This is possibly my favourite place in Edinburgh for brunch/lunch.

Had to wait about half an hour to get a seat. Wanted to try one of the dishes with smoked salmon but it was sold out already. Got it with ham instead which was still incredibly delicious. Kept looking at other people's food to see what they've gotten because everything just looks so good.
