Another hidden gem in east London. I was trying to find something to eat around Wanstead area and this pops up. I always love some jelly eel and this is definitely one of the delicious shops I have been to. Pie crust was cooked nicely and to combine with the chilli vinegar and liquor are such a treat. Ample of seatings available. They also accept credit card payment. Good place to come for some nice British food.

I was early to work one day when I found this on the bus. Jumped off and had to try it. £8 for a double double. That's less than the price of a single back home! Pies were perfectly cooked, mash was spot on as was the liquor. Only minor gripe was the card machine wasn't working, so cash only. Not a major problem as there's a bank over the road. Would definitely recommend this place.

I made my order on Uber Eats today and accidentally ordered liquor twice in different sizes, thinking I'd ordered my mash (like a tw*t) 🙈 Anyway, these AMAZING lovely people at Robin's called me up before it was picked up to tell me my order didn't look right! (Obvs! Because it was missing my mash) lol... so kindly said they will fix my order and replace the accidental item selected with what I wanted (mash) 🥰 <3 That is above and beyond service! You know most places would be like that's their problem for picking the wrong thing! Defo saved me from a lunch with dissapointment! Imagine! No mash! 🙈 thanks again ❤ really appreciate it.

All I can say about my visit here is lovely grub - I was brought up on pie & mash. It's always tasty, the staff are friendly and its spotlessly clean in there. My cousin who now lives in Norfolk always makes a beeline to Robins when she comes back this way for a visit. She even takes some back home with her for the other cockneys who live near her now and they love the pies too :)

Been eating at Robins for years and this branch is right up there with the others. Staff are excellent and I always get a seat. Well up to date with covid rules. Sanitizer avaliable at the door and tables are separated by screens. Parking avaliable through the day down the road.

I judge Pie n Mash on how it compares to my childhood visits to Cooke's on Broadway Market.. And this one stacks up, all very tasty. If you looking for authenticity (sawdust on marble floors, wooden benches, decor that hasn't changed in decades) then this is not the place to go... Don't let that put you off though..!! Nicely located just off the A12 with plenty of on street parking nearby.

Top class 5 star TRADITIONAL PIE AND MASH SHOP been a customer for years ever since the old one in East Ham High street. You just can’t beat ROBINS !!!

Robins do the best pie n mash in London. Used to have a shop in east ham which closed, and, sadly, the cabin at gallions reach has also now shut. Relatively posh wanstead seems to be a bit of an incongruous location for pie n mash but hey ho. Quite expensive for what it is, but a mice treat now and then. Staff are all very friendly.
