My partner and I hadn’t been able to find a sling that fit our newborn daughter. Mel demoed the different types of slings and helped us try them on. We both found slings that were very comfortable for both us and our baby. Mel was incredibly warm and welcoming, while also taking Covid safety seriously. I would recommend her to anyone who is keen to carry babies. She really knows the ins and outs of all the carriers and techniques.

I struggled to find a sling library open at the moment (September 2020) and after a bit of research found Wrap A Hug. It was great to chat to Mel about the different carriers/slings as there are so many different kinds and this is my first baby. He is very cuddly (ie wants to be in my arms all the time) but hated the handmedown sling we already had and I was worried I’d buy the wrong thing from the myriad of options. After a little chat and demos Mel helped me pick out a couple to try with baby and I quickly hit on the perfect sling for me. I can’t say how amazing it is to have my hands and some independence back with this! I like the sling so much I’ve ordered a permanent one via Mel which is being sent direct to my home. Visiting the library felt very COVID secure - I’d really recommend this to any London-based new mums and dads.

Never been to a sling consultant before- but Mel is by far everything I expected and more! She knows about all the different ways of carrying your baby and is important to see at the beginning of your baby wearing journey- as she will give you the confidence to carry your baby and make sure you are comfortable in your chosen sling. The sling fitting itself does soo much more than what you would get from a you tube video as she is able to tailor the baby wearing to your body shape and ability and preferences. Plan to visit again in 3 months when my baby is bigger so I can try out the non stretchy fabric slings.

I wrote Melanie when I was looking for a sling. Booked a consult and got to hire a sling. I was able to write her and get more help over text. Amazing value for money!! She makes wrapping a sling so easy as well. I thought it was hard, but with her instructions I could do it with my eyes closed after practicing a few days. If you're interested in baby wearing, go and get a consult!

I went to Mel because I wanted to learn how to use woven wraps with my second baby and she was recommended to me by a friends and midwives. I’d done a lot of baby wearing with my first baby but all with buckles carriers and wanted to find out about wrapping. Mel is a great teacher, very friendly and patient (with her little helper :) ) and helps you learn quickly how to wrap. She also gives very good advice about fabric and lengths and types of wrapping. She has a huge amount of different wraps and carriers to hire at a very good price and can help you make an informed choice of what to buy if you wish. Would totally recommend!

Our midwife suggested visiting Mel after birth and I’m so glad that I did! I’ve always wanted to learn how to wrap a baby properly and she made it so simple and easy to follow.
