A. W.Idah's isn't just a patisserie it's an institution, at least among local tradesmen. In addition to an array of fresh cakes and doughnuts they are easily the best sandwich shop in town offering a selection of classic fillings such as lamb & mint (my favourite), chinese chicken, hot bacon & sausage, or I suppose you could just have ham if you wanted to, served in a choice of fresh breads and rolls with spread or (most importantly) real butter, salad, and topped off with freshly ground salt & pepper, to take away in paper bags.
If you don't fancy a sandwich Idah's have a hot food display containing various pies, pasties, pizzas and sausage rolls.
Prices are very reasonable, although bottled drinks are a bit cheaper in the Premier shop next door.

W. P.WARNING - THE CAKES ARE TOO GOOD! - I have never had a duff one, they are delicious, all freshly made and so tasty! the sandwiches are well filled and the staff are great. I really like this place and when I am close by, will pop in and grab something from here for lunch. Thankfully I now work away from the area... my waistline is happier, but my tummy isnt!
R. D.A taste of nostalgia. I haven’t seen a proper iced bun in years and it was just as I remember. Jam Donuts are amazing too... a proper bakery.

R. D.I am not normally a massive fan of pastries, but they do a pastry item with bacon and another with sausage which are absolutely sensational. I think they have some pesto or something in with the bacon etc. We had to go back a second time!!
The cakes etc were also lovely.
g. p.Got one of the best pizzas ever from Idahs the other day will make a point of shopping here. Bake most of their bread and pastry in house. Top quality - recommend
R. M.I gave 3 * purely because they don’t wear gloves. Thinking they touch money and the till and the card reader that’s too much dirt, the least they can do is to wear those plastic gloves. Their food is very nice but the thought of handling it with bare hands is disgusting... look at sands, it’s very expensive but because they are clean and wear gloves makes one buy there.. and most people are students and can’t afford sands, but because they are left with no choice, they resort to Idas but we all know it’s not clean...
P. N.The best ever bakery, with fantastic bread, savouries, and cakes. Also a fresh sandwich & roll maker. Only open Monday to Friday but so worth the wait!!
