Having read Breadsong (the most beautiful book I have ever read) we were impelled to visit the shop. What an absolute delight to meet Kitty, Al and Katie. Clearly passionate about their food and then getting a glimpse through the window of the bread and pastries on offer it was obvious why there is always a queue - until sold out.
Would the food live up to our expectations? Absolutely! We bought quite a selection between us and enjoyed everything.
If you live in the area lucky you, if not make a special journey, ours was a 150 mile round trip but well worth it. We will return....

When we arrived in Watlington there was a humongous queue. On the way back there was only a small queue and having never visited before we decided we must join the queue! We were not disappointed the sausage rolls were beasts and the sweet pastries were amazing! Get there for opening if you are hoping for a good spread. They close once they sell out which sometimes only takes a few hours!

Get there first thing in the morning as a queue forms before opening. Worth it though! Excellent baked items.

By far the best pain au chocolat I have ever eaten.

If bakeries would be awarded Michelin stars like restaurants, Orange Bakery should be awarded with highest accolade of 3 stars - “Exceptional, worth a special journey.”

Earth shatteringly good bread and don't forget the sausage rolls too!

Delicious fresh Foccacia, Sourdough & today also tried Kitty's Walnut & Fig loaf which was scrumptious. These were the vegan friendly offerings today which did not disappoint. Larger range for the non-vegan customers including sweet & savoury treats. Highly recommend their lovely loaves.

We do our weekly shop here, and have to stop ourselves from not buying the whole shop.
All bread is sourdough, the rye and Guinness rye are some of the best rye breads I’ve tasted. And you won’t go wrong with a marmite and cheese swirl, cinnamon bun, cardamon buns, and - when they have them - the happy bread.
The happy bread is delectable. indulgent. Sin. I’m glad they don’t make them every time because I’d be rolling down the hill by now.

What can I say about this place. The baked goods are out of this world.

I love this bakery and all the wonderful, smiley people who run it! It's not just a place to buy bread, it's a joyful experience and if you think I'm exaggerating just watch how everyone leaves the shop with a grin on their face. I've met many delightful people standing in the Saturday morning queue, often discussing which is our favourite loaf. I highly recommend a visit!

Amazingly fresh and delicious cheese twists and cinnamon buns, and the Marmite roll is something I could eat for breakfast every single day. We visited from London, and will definitely return. If you are in the area, it most definitely worths a detour - just make sure you visit in the morning because it sells out quickly!

I've visited twice before and arrived too late to get anything. I didn't make the same mistake on my third visit. Got there 40mins before opening and am so glad I did. I filled my arms with bread and sweet treats. Everything I bought was absolutely lovely and the team were so nice and friendly. Definitely recommend!

We saw the Times article and popped in on Saturday after the children's swimming lessons. We'd promised them the famous cinnamon buns if they tried hard. What a treat! They are the best cinnamon buns we have had! We also bought a loaf of the white bread (all sour dough) which was fantastic. We will be back next week with luck, I want to try one of the other loaves. Wishing the Orange Bakery all the best of success, they deserve it!

A baking phenomenon! Customer service was flawless and so friendly. Such amazing flavour profiles. Tahini and chocolate? Who knew that would be so very good!?! Superb bread and brilliant doughnuts. Well worth the queue.
My driving snack of Al's Brattys was great, a lovely sweet chilli tomato hum. Delicious.
I can't wait for my next visit!

Loved visiting the Orange Bakery. Friendly welcome and they really know their bread. We bought the foccacia which was wonderful and brioche swirled with Nutella which did not last long it was so good. Definitely worth a visit.

The Orange Bakery where you can taste the loving kindness of Al and Kitty in every bun, loaf and batch of magic fresh from the oven. It's always a massive treat to stand in line and delight in the work of these exceptional people.

Supreme bread and pastries, warm and happy service, lovely people with great sense in style and so lovely to know them they always make me smile. I didn't know good bread before them!

Great bread but opens too late (especially on a Saturday) and doesn't have enough product to last the length of the queue. Obviously a huge success but I've only once managed to get any bread.

A truly incredible bakery.

The very best bread I've ever had, and the kindest staff you could imagine. It's the main reason I go to Watlington!

I visited this incredible bakery for the sourdough, but was tempted by the beautiful focaccia... Let me tell you, it did not disappoint!! This may be the most delicious focaccia I've ever tasted- it's soft with a delightful crust on the edges, a perfect chew and moisture, and the flavour is unreal.
I can't tell you enough how thrilled I am to have found this wonderful bakery! From the kind and helpful staff to the beautiful and tempting displays to the delicious treats... Run, don't walk, and visit this treasure!
