My favourite favourite bakery! The cakes are as gorgeous as they are yummy. I'm grateful for coming across Victoria yum in January and I've been in here at least once a week if not more!! The brunch menu is great and the new breakfast bap is a must try. I have also finally found the perfect textured scones here! Please do try Victoria Yum and no other place will ever be good enough after your experience :)

Everything about this place is gorgeous. From the decors outside and more so when you go inside. Not just that, they serve the best cakes and cupcakes in Colchester. Victoria yum has a signature style and taste that keeps me and my family coming back for more. Everyone here is also so friendly and so nice. It makes you feel like you are having tea and cake at the comfort of your home. Glad to have Victoria Yum here in Colchester ❤️

Victoria Yum offers the best cakes I've ever tasted. We had a brownie, a slice of chocolate fudge cake and a slice of carrot cake and they were amazing. Moist, delicious and generous portions. Honestly, I cannot rate this place high enough. The owner and staff were absolutely lovely as well - they stopped and had a chat with us whilst we had some tea. Definitely give them a try, you won't be disappointed!

Genuinely the best cake I have ever eaten. I was really sad when they left London and moved to Colchester but I have even driven to Colchester to have my fix! This for me is the BEST cake shop in London. It’s a must visit. The victoria sandwich, rose & pistachio cake along with the salted caramel brownies are a few of my favourites. The vegan cakes are also just as amazing. They aren’t stingy with the portions and the prices are great. The staff are lovely and are always very welcoming.

The cakes and all baked goods are simply amazing, but coming for brunch made me realise how great Victoria Yum is. From a small menu we had one of the best brunches we have tried in Colchester. How lucky Colchester is to have this beautiful bakery. The best cakes we have ever tasted. Our Christmas tree cake made our Christmas, particularly when we couldn't see family. We have tried all the vegan cakes and they are all so beautifully presented and tasty. The flavours really stand out and are what they say they are. The way the cake cuts clearly shows the quality and that they are baked to perfection. We also used the postage services and the afternoon teas that were on offer in lockdown as gifts for friends and family and they all received glowing reviews. We will certainly continue to support this unique family run business. We also love all the other bits for sale in the bakery like freshly ground coffee and selection of teas which make wonderful presents. The staff are always happy, helpful and friendly and the interior is beautifully decorated making it a lovely place to visit, sit and enjoy cake!

Lovely place to stop by in the highstreet! Tucked away in such a pretty part of town, we visited with my baby and the staff were so kind and accommodating especially as we had our big pushchair with us. Stopped for brunch and coffee but had to leave with some cake at the end. Always looking for an excuse to come back. The owner came out to chat with us which really shows her dedication and passion for what she does. Highly recommend!

First time visit...been dying to try it for some time. Cakes were absolutely divine, beautiful looking....and huge!! Highly recommend the Courgette & Pistachio, and the Victoria Sponge. Lovely staff, and great value for money. Will definitely be returning.

During lockdown, Victoria Yum used to have queues of at least 30 minutes before opening each day for take away cake in Hackney before shifting eastwards to Colchester. And it really is that good!! There's a big variety of whole cakes, sold by the slice with a really generous portion size, fantastic flavours and always really moist, decadent cake (firm favourites are the lemon & courgette and the peach & raspberry). Also a great array of brownies & blondies (Biscoff, raspberry & pistachio, and peanut are all really good!) and cupcakes. The café in Colchester is a great place to sit & relax and the great cakes are topped off by really good coffee too (and there's also savoury food) and everything is served up with real warmth by Kiersten and team. Hackney Wick's loss is definitely Colchester's gain — a real must if you're in the town, you won't be disappointed! (One of our first post-lockdown trips once indoor dining opened again was to come down, check out the café and stock up!)

Have been to Victoria Yum multiple times and they make a beautiful Afternoon Tea! I was working in Red Lion Walk and went in to buy some cakes and brownies and they held them for me to pick up at the end of the day, luckily I went in early because everything was gone by the end of the day! Cannot fault the staff in there at all they’re all so kind and friendly! And I will be back for more!

Best little cake shop in London. I'm pretty sure, I've tried the majority. I travel well over an hour to visit, but it's always worth my while. From the cupcakes, sandwich cakes and gorgeous special occasion cakes. It's hard to choose a favourite but the mango and passion fruit cake, I ordered a few weeks ago for a friends birthday was absolutely divine. Beautiful on the outside with exotic fruit and edible flowers, and layers of moist cake and delicious filling. The only downside I would say is get there early to have the most complete selection or order an entire cake to guarantee the flavours of your choice.

I’ve had both the afternoon tea boxes delivered during lockdown and have also visited Victoria Yum Cakes for sweet treats now things are opening up again. All the food produced is fresh, delicious and of the highest quality. I had the Biscoff brownie yesterday and it was moist, fudgey and somehow I managed to eat the whole slice without sharing despite it being a great big slice! If you do pop along to visit, do yourself a favour and order more than you think you’ll kick yourself when you fancy a snack later on and you didn’t buy some other goodies. The afternoon tea boxes are amazing and included so many tasty treats they lasted a whole weekend!

I can't recommend Victoria Yum enough! I've been visiting for my cake fix for years it's honestly the best cake in London (and I've tried a fair amount!). Always a great range of regular and seasonal flavours on offer. Great to see which new ones have been invented when we visit the Hackney Wick location. The multi-coloured layer cake blew my little nieces tiny little mind and always wants to go back when she comes to visit! The brownies are also some of the best around - super gooey and so tasty, just like brownies should be. We've ordered a few whole cakes as well and the decoration on top is so lovely. Great for any celebration. It's now become a family Christmas tradition to have a VY cake for dessert!

These cakes are absolute beauties - from the taste, the gorgeous presentation, the really generous portion sizes to the wonderfully friendly team who now feel like friends. The muffins are the best I've ever tasted (sadly now all others are sub par and I save myself for Victoria Yum ones) and if you love a gooey brownie the caramel ones in particular will change your life. My dad is wheat free and they had the best wheat free cake he's ever tasted - totally recommend this place if you have dietary requirements, they have you covered. Delicious cakes!! So much so I had my wedding cake made with tiered chocolate avocado, red velvet, chocolate Guinness and chocolate beetroot. Kirsten is the founder and she was super friendly and helpful to design something beautiful. Turned out even more stunning than I could have imagined, with edible flowers and exotic fruit. The best little hidden bakery in London! Seek it out ....great coffee and ice cream as well as an amazing selection of cakes that change each week. The brownies are the best I have ever tasted ( and trust me I eat a lot of brownies!!) so much so I buy a load of them and keep them in the freezer to treat myself in the week! Great selection of cakes for gluten free and vegans as well....just get down there and see for yourself! No wonder they are stocked in Harrods, Selfridges and Fortnum and Mason....plus the team are lovely to chat with so head there for a pit stop when exploring the Hackney Wick area👍

Unique flavour combination, though some of them taste a bit similar. The decorations style makes the cakes like a mini garden ! Big slice , nice creamy butterry flavour and moist texture. Classic British cakes I would say. Many flavour choices, better visit before 1pm since it gone fast!

I love cakes, but it has been difficult finding a decent cake shop. Most of the good small bakeries have retired so you have to resort getting cakes from the supermarket which are just frozen cakes or cakes that have a long shelf life. Some bakeries offer instaworthy cakes which lack substance but Victoria Yum appealed to me in the sense that their cakes are creative as well as delicious and not to mention instagrammable! The shop owner is probably called Victoria hence the name Victoria Yum but I love the the classic British Victoria Sponge/Sandwich so somehow I just knew I was going to like it. After browsing their website, the cake choices were exciting so it was hard deciding what to get. Some of the creative ones include: Matcha Chai with Cinnamon & Cardamom Raspberry Rose & Pistachio Poached Pear & Blueberry Fresh Peach & Raspberry Courgette, Pistachio & Lemon I planned to go there in January but fortunately I found out they were doing some refurbishing as they were closed until Feb 2nd, 2020. They are only open from Weds to Sat from 9am to 4pm so as soon as it was Wednesday I went to Victoria Yum. However, when I got there, they didn't have the full collection so went back again on Saturday. As expected, the cakes were like eye candy so it was hard to choose. The special cake that day was Parsnip, Apple and Honey which shows her creativity with vegetables in cakes just like the courgette one. It was a battle to decide which cake to get, I already had red velvet in mind because I wanted something basic to satisfy my simple cake craving. As well as the red velvet the rhubarb raspberry also looked good, I liked the pink cream in the middle which should have a nice tartness from the rhubarb. In the end I went for the Ruby Red Velvet which was a big generous slice! Not only was it big but it had four layers so it was difficult to fit another slice in that day. Digging in to my cake, the layers were so decadent and the silky vanilla cream cheese in the middle literally melts in your mouth. Having tea with the tea is a must but then you always have tea with cakes. Although I couldn't quite finish it, I was already thinking of another slice of cake. I regretted not getting another cake to take home as it would mean looking forward to another Saturday for cakes!!!!
