A la carte is amazing. We get meals weekly for a relative with some memory issues and who struggles cooking. The meals are great value. There is a huge variety and tastes great. Fully recommend.

Cute little spot
Delicious pastries and fast service.
We had the pistachio macaron and mars square. Both really nice!
Would have loved a little spot to sit and eat them! Even a little two seater would be lovely.

I came in here as part of Karly's walking food and drink tour, 'A Wee Taste of Edinburgh' and it did not disappoint. We sampled some home made tablet which was absolutely delicious! So much so I had to buy a bag of it! It really is a lovely little eatery that stocks all your sweet and savoury favourites. A great stop and I definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the area.

I was in Edinburgh on holiday from Canada and I came into A la Carte on a walking food and drink tour A Wee Taste of Edinburgh. This was a fantastic little baked goods place with such a great array of savory and sweet treats. The tablet we tried was delicious! I definitely recommend this place!

What a beautiful little bakery! In their window they have such a lovely array of baked sweet and savoury goods. We came in as part of Karly’s walking food and drink tour and tried a typical Scottish sweet- tablet. This was tasty! I really recommend this place for homemade sweet goods!

I went to A La Carte as part of the Wee Taste of Edinburgh walking tour and I can thoroughly recommend it. The food here is just lovely - my favourite being the tablet. It is also presented in such a nice way that it makes an excellent gift, that is if you don't eat it beforehand. A great place for both locals and visitors.

This is a great little place for sweet treats! We had fresh tablet tastings here which we throughly enjoyed! We bought a few bags to take home with us. The owner was super friendly and hospitable, taking the time to chat to us. Would highly recommend to anyone passing by!

The homemade tablet tasting here is delicious, so much so I had to buy a few bags as gifts! I would definitely recommend this independent bakers for anything ranging from mini pizzas and sausage rolls to homemade brownies, macarons and caramel shortbread!

The soups here are AMAZING! I'm very time (and energy!) Poor so these are great for popping in the freezer. They are mostly for my wee one who loves them! I've sampled some of the meals too for myself and they are also fab! Wee one loves the macaroni. I'm a local and I couldn't live without this place.

Really great little place which does VEGAN sweets. THANK THE LORD. Came across this place on a wee taste of Edinburgh walking food tour which being an Edinburgh resident didn’t even know this place was here. Highly recommend for those who have a sweet tooth

Karly took us here as a part of her “Wee Taste of Edinburgh Walking Tour”. The tablet was delicious and the staff was incredibly friendly. I ended up buying some tablet for my boyfriend.

I can’t resist grabbing one of their sausage rolls when I’m passing, and just eating it straight away.
