Reviews of COSMO All You Can Eat World Buffet Restaurant | Edinburgh
S. B.
Rated based on overall experience. The buffet price is 17.99 where as the items are minimal especially who are vegetarian. Even the friends who came along with me who tried non veg also not satisfactory. Onion rings are not hot served and when i reach at 19.15 its almost over and not refilled. Hope we need to reach early to taste all items hot and served. If you reach late you miss items covered on the buffet.
The same applies for dessert as well very limited options and no refill if it over in late.
I liked the Nachos and Mushroom nothing much.
More important one the drinks are not included on the price which i would say it would worth if they add the drinks along with the price.
B. C.
No complaints here. For the price and compared to whats available in the area this was great. Not a quiet place when busy (obviously). Staff were friendly and helpful. Great selection and would recommend. Thanks
W. L. N.
We went right as they opened the doors for service and just got a seat. I would recommend booking a table in advance. The food is quite good and I like the selection, but I've had better buffets at lower prices. There was also free refills on soft drinks which I was quite surprised at.

Went for lunch here on a Saturday afternoon and the place was packed.
The food was pretty nice with a large amount of asian and Indian selections and a robust desserts and a teppanyaki section. The items were fresh and were being replaced fairly quickly when things were running out.
Order the drinks when you sit down and the servers ask. They get really busy in the middle of service and any order you place then usually takes a bit of time.
Items I really loved : Lamb Rogan Josh, Prawns, Steaks and Salmon made to order on the live grill.

Absolutely tip top love this place I've been here a few times before good good good decore and even dispite the thronging crowd there's a nice feel to the place definitely worth the money but book before you go coz the que can be killer outside of you turn up on speck
C. W.
This is a fantastic buffet. Eat as much as you like good quality food. In particular you can get freshly cooked teppanyaki with great cuts of salmon, steak, king prawns, gyoza, squid ... the list goes on. Around £15.99 for adult (varies depending on time / day) children £7.99. They also offer a student discount Mon to Thursday (I think) & a blue light card discount - valid at weekends

Wonderful service and a great selection of food for brilliant prices. The seafood didn’t look too appetising which knocks off a star, but one of the chefs was extremely friendly. Recommend to anyone!

I've got to say this is great value for eat however much you want and the availability of different cuisines is great! Some clearly offer more options than others however, think I'd have liked to see a bit more spicy Indian and Thai options. Several food options were sweet tasting and fewer spicier ones, but that can be a subjective thing I suppose. The prawns were delicious especially! Some of the desserts could maybe also be slightly tastier but they were still an absolute treat!
Great experience still. Hardly had to wait in a queue, the ambience is nice and staff were very helpful. Make sure to book ahead though because it's for sure really busy.
k. m. L.
good Price and good food particular the cantonese food is better then expected. If that have salmon sashimi and soft ice cream will be perfect👍🏻

Went on a sat afternoon with the wife. Tried nearly everything. The food was great. Nice and hot with plenty to choose from. I had 6 plates and My only problem was I wish I had room for more. Great price, great food, great staff. Had to go home for a sleep. That's what you call a good feast.
V. W.
Went here for my birthday with friends for dinner and it was amazing! The guy who took our drinks order was very funny and gave off an amazing vibe. Food was great, but desserts lacking a little, which I didn't really care about since I don't have a massive sweet tooth anyway. I'll definitely be coming back!
A. A.
Went here for dinner. Always have a great meal. Lots of different things to choose from. Excellent.

Let's start saying that I am a very loyal customer of Cosmo since its opening.
I simply LOVE this restaurant for various reasons:
1) Its Value. There are a lot of unlimited buffet places, but I defy anybody to find a place that can offer you the same quality for £16 (with this price you can just get a bucket of Greasy chicken legs or a boring burger meal).
2) The Environment. It is clean and very relaxing, nobody bothers you during the whole time you are there.
3) Fast: You can go hundred times to fill your plate (when you come back you never find your dirty plate on the table).
4) Variety: Chinese,Indian,Italian,Scottish, Japanese,BBQ etc.(to try them all, you would have to go to at least 5 separate restaurants and spend £ 30 at each of them).
Tonight I was there with my wife (enjoying it like always), but one of their staff decided to be rude without any valid reason (not mentioning here who for Respect to the Manager).
I went to the manager to tell him what happened but here it comes the MAGIC:
After 10 minutes, despite being Very Busy, he found the time to speak to this staff, he came personally to the table, apologize to me (in a very genuine and professional way), He was very nice and even offered us a drink..!
To finish my experience, when I went to pay, a different person apologized to me (again) at the till.
I didn't expect this high level of Customer Service, especially from a big restaurant like that (that shows how much They value Every Single Customer and confirm what I have always thought about COSMO: it simply the best restaurant in Scotland)!
O. O.
COSMO All you can eat... was part of our trip highlights in Edinburgh, Scotland. Good ambience and great customer service.

Right I love this place so I'm going to give it 5 stars based on my experience as a guest eating here. Amazing for the kids, staff very friendly and make you feel welcome.
However just a small suggestion, I was here today at the end of lunch service and noticed after the staff took their well deserved serving of food for their break. The remainder of the food was being thrown out into bin liners. Now you can't walk far in Edinburgh until you see homeless people, perhaps now this is just a suggestion can this food be given to them.
Other than this small suggestion I fully recommend eating here 🙂
h. n.
Nice ambience, and waiters were so welcoming and friendly! Chicken tikka was top notch. Only concern was that the food is not refilled quickly. Have Been waiting for 30 min for naan bread and still he say take some time.
J. C.
The mains where great had no complaints, but the desserts not as good.
All the staff where amazing real friendly had a good laugh with them.
If you are going here with kids be very careful as if they are over 155cm tall you will be charged as an adult no matter what age they are. They tried to charge me an adult fee for my 12 year old son who was just on the line the used.
If the deserts were as good as the mains and I did not have the problem with the fact they charge more for kids who are tall I would have given a full 5 stars.
If cosmo’s read this here a tip instead of use a height system use an age even if you break it down so you have 3 or 4 different categories for kid with different prices. My 12 year old son was eating chicken nuggets and chip with barbecue sauce a plate of dessert and you wanted to charge full adult price because he looked taller than a line on the wall…. COME ON!
N. P.
Dont normally do 'buffet' style restaurants, but overheard someone raving about it whilst we were in the Spoons next door. Firstly, its a BIG restaurant, busy, which is a good thing as the dishes turn over quickly, so freshened quickly. Food was of a very high standard and £18 a head, good value for money. Nothing there you will not like. May well return if we get back to Edinburgh.
T. S.
I went there one alone to try out the buffet and was really impressed with variety of cuisines that this place offers. The place is clean to the last and all the unseen corners. The staff is very well behaved and interactive. The guy so impressed with everything that I took fifteen of my friends to this place and their minds were blown. We got so full after all the eating that we mistakingly paid more than the amount on the bill and these guys can to us by themselves with the extra amount and returned it back. I highly recommend this place of anyone wants to throw a party to a group of people. It’s classy and one of the best dining places in the city. I’m definitely coming back here, infact me and my friends have pledged to visit this place once every month. Highly recommended. Ten on Ten for food, cleanliness and hygiene, staff behaviour.
H. W.
Great place!
Nicely decorated on the inside, really big space.
For the price its such good value. The food is delicious and there are lots of options. For lunch it was £15 for unlimited food. Lots of different types of food as well so you can try lots of different things.
Have to wear plastic gloves when you go up to serve your food and from what we saw everyone wore the gloves.
Not somewhere you could go all the time but a a great treat!
A. M.
Went at 5pm, it wasn't very busy yet but a lot of the food was pretty cold, the chips were underdone and the creamy chicken pasta dish I had was disgusting - watery and without any discernable flavour. Pizza was decent enough, and desserts were plentiful and quite nice. Was difficult to get the attention of staff though, and we weren't told you had to go to the bar to pay the bill so waited around for a while looking for someone to ask for the bill. Cashier was super abrupt . If you eat a lot of the stuff it's good value for money but a lot of the stuff just wasn't that nice, unfortunately.
G. W.
Cosmo is ok I suppose. Plenty of choice here. Some of the food selection is better than others. I felt some of the food was not hot enough. Not a great problem as there is always something else to choose, you will not leave hungry.
C. O.
Their lunch selection is okay. Although, I've had better. Thus the 3 stars. Staff shouted at us when we went to pay - when we replied confused they said "fine", quite rude if you ask me. Very loud. Very busy. Very triggering generally. But still good food and the prices were okay. There are better cosmos out there but for Edinburgh this one is okay to go to. It's much better during off-peak times.
C. M.
My first time at Cosmo, my dau recommended it, and as we were going to a theatre show it was an ideal place to eat. The restuarant was very full but it flowed very easily with attentive staff for tables, drinks and payment. Choice of food was fabulous as you can eat dishes from around the world! The price was set, so eat as much as you can. I loved this ❤. Well recommended, I will def be back.
N. M.
Absolutely love this place. The shine just ain't wearing off for me. Been 8-10 times and can't find any issues. Wee bit more expensive but so is everything. Great for big family meals and also for date nights with the wife.
C. C.
Great selection for meat eaters, very few for those that don't eat meat. The few meals available were quite nice. We never got served drinks even after asking twice.
A. V. E.
A very good all you can eat place just in the middle of the city!
S. W.
Went on Friday night! Food was piping hot! Plenty choice! Desserts were lovely x maybe have strawberry to dip into choc fountain as I’m not a fan of marshmallows
C. P.
The restaurant was very dark and uninviting. The food was mostly ok with some highlights like the prawns and Yorkshire puddings. Drinks were cheap and cheerful. Didn't really like that the chocolate fountain had everyone putting their hands in it. Didn't seem very covid friendly.
L. K.
Had a good experience overall. All the staff were very pleasant and efficient. Empty plates were cleared with efficiency and a good variety of food was present. I gave it a four star as I was unable to read the allergen in the back of each dish. The print was very small and made it difficult to see what was present in each dish. Also I found quite a few dishes especially the Asian ones quite salty, but that could be a taste issue as I eat very little salt.
I was also put off by the amount of food clients wasted. I know it's an all you can eat buffet and fun to try different foods and don't get me wrong we go to places like this to indulge ourselves but maybe charging people £2 per half plate uneaten would deter them from pilling up and wasting food especially since you can go back to the buffets and serve yourself as many times as you like.
As a whole was a good experience.
K. “. L.
Super difficult to find! I'd read online to park in the car park round the back, which we did. But my gosh, it took us ages to work out the lay out of the place and that it was to the side of the main building! 🙈
However, when we arrived we had booked just for 2, the other half cheekily asked for a booth if not reserved, and they was happy for us to sit in the booth.
Soooo many food choices! Plenty of chefs. Ideal for everyone tbh. Lovely time.
B. Y.
Extremely overpriced when you think about the fact that the drinks aren’t even included in the buffet price. Cosmos used to be one of the best places to go for food but now it’s just rubbish. The hygiene quality has also slipped and it’s just not worth going to anymore
W. K.
Really nice place, the food is delicious. Don't like the fact that you pay for the table service for 5+ people, as they only take your dirty plates away and some of the staff members are a bit unfriendly (too busy?). Overall, good place to eat if you only pay attention to the food.
d. m.
Nice buffet place offering cuisines from all over the world. The Pan Asian and Indian delicacies are excellent and not to forget the desserts. Gets crowded quite early in the evening ,hence table booking is must. Pricing is quite economical and th location is just around the city center.
A. H.
Who can fault an all you can eat restaurant that offers food/meal choices from all over the world. Super concept, great for birthdays, other group meals and dates, everyone can and will be satisfied in one stop....recommended!!!
T. G. O.
Nice restaurant! Very good all you can eat! The infrastructure is really nice and well designed. The toilet is ik. It is recommended to book your table, otherwise you will wait 1h or more. The dishes have the allergens! The down side is the few dishes of salads anda vegetables. The lamb was completely burned and the turkey was over cooked.
R. B.
Mains and starters are just average. Deserts are great though. Not to bad price wise for being in Edinburgh City centre. Service is a bit slow a busy times.
C. “. T.
There is a huge variety of foods to choose from so no matter whether you’re a fussy eater or someone who loves food, there’s going to be something for you here!
They range from having the regular buffet items like Chinese, Italian, dessert bar etc to having carvery meat off the bone and a chef who will cook you steak (sirloin steak at that!) and seafood on a grill in front of you.
I especially love how they have Irn Bru and Vimto on the bottomless drinks section!
The interior is really very nice and actually looks quite fancy so you feel like it’s a real treat coming here!
Lastly, the price is decent as well, exactly what you’d expect to pay for an all you can eat buffet!
s.
Nice place to go out and have some food variety. Maybe not the most authentic or best ethnic restaurant ever but still ok quality.
I. W.
It's all in the title, good food from all over.....and plenty of it ! Not 5 star cuisine, but worth 5 stars as there really wasn't anything to fault.
M. Z.
Not the best food in the world but it's by no means bad. You're always sure to find something you'll like given the selection. The pizza is really good, I was a little surprised at how good it was actually. I would probably come back just for it..
R. I.
Popped in on a bank holiday expecting an hour wait for a table. Was very surprised when there was only a 15 minute wait. They had the usual good selection of food on display. Everything from Chinese to Indian and about of everything else in between. Would definitely come back.
F. Z.
Although the price varies a lot from lunch to dinner, I have to say that it worth it! The salmon is wonderful, but the sauce can be a little salty. Various kinds of dessert are available too.
J. M.
Great food. Tables are really close together so a bit difficult to move around so wouldn’t be suitable for any prams, wheelchairs etc
h. d.
A former night club here in the heart of Edinburgh thisbuffet style restaurant is huge inside. As soon as you walk in ur welcomed with a dark corridor and small reception desk and a small bar with a reasonable selection of drinks. The main buffet hall is huge with a vast selection of tables and chairs. Now the food is just a wide open selection of diffrent cuisines from around the world which is always nice pricing for this place i would say is very reasonable so yes i would recommend
K. L.
Bit of a mix really. Good value for money regarding the fact that you can be a glutton and eat lots of different foods that originate from different countries/continents. Some food was pretty cold, and some plates were pretty wet. Not sure I'd be in a rush to return.
V. G.
Fantastic buffet in edinburgh ❤️
S. H.
Cosmos is a buffet of salt and plastic gloves.
Cosmos is a good idea On the surface, hills of endless food from around the world letting your palette be the tourist.
But in reality imagine all the takeaways of Britain converging all in one place and dispensing delights that exist just around the corner behind the bins.
But the staff are nice lovely and human and thats just what you want.
And it's a testament to human inventiveness that it's still possible to have fun even under the most mediocre of circumstances.
H. A.
The atmosphere was good food was good everything was good couldn't fault them we where early for our booking and they accompanied us
T.
We had dinner at Cosmo and the food was absolutely amazing! The variety of food makes a lot of difference with other buffets and also the quality of food. There is food from all over the world - India, China, Japan, Italy...
The staff were very attentive, ready to help you and ready to clear up so you can have a new plate.
This is my favourite buffet in Edinburgh!
I totally recommend going there!
K. W.
One of my favourite places in Edinburgh. Low price for good quality food. Prices vary depending on the day and time. There is a lunch menu and a dinner menu depending. It may be difficult to book a table however, it is best to come in couple minutes before opening and you will get in. On a day that it will be very busy you will get a pager.
You pay for a drink on top of the food.
There are plenty of cuisines British, Indian, Chinese etc. From pizza, chips, meat, curry, seafood, sushi to ice cream, fruits or dessert. There also children favourite chocolate fountain where you can dip in marshmallows.
Food is always hot and delicious whatever you choose from.
My very favourite are grilled in front of you squids.
Surely everyone will find something for themselves.
Thanks to very hard working staff, each visit is very special. Please come and visit!! :)
S. M.
A wide range of tasty grub. Staff are great! Service was top notch
m. “. s.
This time it was too much hassle. Who brings a few week old baby with family to busy place like Cosmo. I had great company at Christmas dinner but screaming children and a wee baby should have stayed home safe. Also some of the staff could not hide they were stressed.
S. A.
I have regularly dined at Cosmo in last seven years and I can say the quality has been dropped significantly over the years.
My last visit was in Feb 2022 and I noticed the menu has shrinked. The live cooking station no longer served scallops and the dessert section was reduced to half. You won't find creme brulee anymore! I couldn't find deep fried mushrooms and the staff told me it has been off the menu too! I was expecting a higher quality with a reduced menu but I was disappointed with the quality.
The only positive point is patient and polite staff specifically if you consider having a gathering or hosting a party.
M. B.
Good food and good staff but many empty pots and taste was OK compared to other local World Food sites which I class as great with fabulous food and staff.
A.
I love how they organized big buffet last night also like how they answer my question when I asked about if they have halal’s food ! And they answer me very friendly YES they have halal Indian section! Which is amazing delicious food I really enjoyed it
S. U.
Visited Cosmo in Edinburgh with the family. Service was very good and attentive. They have COVID rules in place so they operate a one way system.
Having been to the Manchester one I just thought this one didn't have as much variety and not as much halal options.
L. R. E.
Great place to go if you want to try food you haven't had before...you just help yourself ..there is lots to choose from ..starters mains and amazing desserts ..ice cream and a chocolate fountain..child friendly ..very busy place ..you have to book ..we had a 7pm booking .. You have a set time 1hr 45mins ..
S. S.
First time here and absolutely loved it! Food is top class and so many varieties. Will definitely be back.
P. R.
Typical Cosmo with loads of different foods from different cultures. Slightly spoiled by the large birthday party seated behind us with many young children being allowed to run around like they were in a park. Screaming and shouting and throwing food about.
Definitely we'll be back...
W. M.
Promised myself I was going to be good but after 1st walkabout that wasn't going to happen, great selection of foods, great service, friendly staff, covid friendly, adults and kids loved it...a must for all you buffet lovers 👍😁
M. H.
The good and the layout of the new restaurant looks amazing . The waitress were first class service . Specially Yousaf.
M. (.
There's really very little to complain about here, if you know what you're buying. It's a huge buffet with a good selection of cuisines; what more can you ask for? There food is reasonable, and you'll walk away satisfied and in need of caffeine or a nap.
However the variety and volume of food obviously comes at a price beyond the bill. It's very busy so make sure you book ahead, especially in the pre-theatre periods and on a Friday/weekend. It's not particularly cheap (~£65-70 for 3 adults, not drinking alcohol) and if you don't have a big appetite or don't like many different cuisines you might not get the benefit of the place.
Overall I like Cosmo but I normally find the idea of it and the anticipation a bit better than the reality, so I don't go there very often.
S. M.
Not that great, crowded when we visited and it was Chaos, staff failed to manage it, about the dishes, it was all neutralized, lacking the spice and punch, hot deserts were run out by 8.15 pm and was never refilled, why ?Room for improvement.
n. m.
I will give COSMO all 5 stars because of the big variety of food. They have Mexican, Chinese, Indian, Italien, a place were you can say what you like and they will make it, just like Mongolian bbq and the best part, if you ask my husband and kids was all the cakes, build your own ice cream and decorated it with candy, fruit, pancakes, Mars mellows and a big chocolate fountain. You get a lot for your money. It's no Michelin but it's good.
Refill on soda. They have a lunchtime price and an evening dinner price 14£. Kids half price under the hight of 150cm. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Enjoy 👍
W. G. (.
Good place, staff is amazing. Little too overcrowded with some tables so close to each other you can fork in from your neighbours plate. The food is great
A. F.
Tasty food, all you can eat, perfect for family and friends meal. Turist trips. Even lunch time menu which is reasonably cheap, offers a lot to choose from their menu. Can't complain. Good location, very popular and busy specialy in the dinner times.
R. A.
Not the best cosmo I've been to, the dining area is huge compared to the small buffet so there isn't a huge selection of food so not very "world buffet" but what they do have is pretty good. I only had one actual complaint about the food itself which was some of the rice I had was very solid/crunchy and under cooked
N. O.
Good food, fresh and unlimited refillable soft drink. My only grumble is that they only honour their free birthday meal offer if there are 4 diners or more.
A. F.
The buffet was, as always, amazing. Great selection of food and very tasty. Lost a ⭐ as the Christmas dinner selection was really disappointing. Frozen mixed veg were soggy. Same gravy for gammon and turkey. No sprouts and no mash!
E. T.
Great choice of food at Cosmo service very efficient my only complaint would be some hot food was not very hot
Also I seen a chef putting fresh cooked food on top of food that had already been sitting on the hot plate this is a cause for concern if this is the practice I most certainly will not be back in Cosmo.
a. a.
Amazing experience. Wide range of food and very tasty too. Staff were very polite
A. h.
Yum. What a selection of food. The staff as busy as they were were so very helpful and my experience was great.
A. M.
The selection of food is phenomenal and very tasty. I'd highly recommend this restaurant. 😋
S. N.
There is a variety of food. I guess people might enjoy it but I only loved 2 dishes among all.
D. H.
Very busy felt a bit rushed arrived at 2.15pm started clearing the tables at 3.30pm to reset for dinners starting at 4pm , self service buffet choice was OK and quick to top up if food run out, service charge of £11 for 13 people at our table only children under 3yrs eat free
A.
Wot a fabulous time we went as a group of us and i have to say that the food was absolutely gorgeous .always something for everyone.my advice is book a table prior to going
T. 4.
Not as good as used to be. Dessert very poor selection. Hard working staff.
G. S.
Worth a visit if you like lots of different foods. Better than a normal buffet
A. P.
Amazing for the price! Its rather quite busy though but if that's something you don't mind - great. Make sure to reserve a table.
J. X.
Clean restaurant with good quality asian food and western food. It's buffet so it means you can have as much as u like in 2 hours. Remember to book in advance as u need to queue for it for hours as well.
S. S.
Love the concept but we found the Edinburgh restaurant to be a bit much like a very large hotel canteen. Our first Cosmo experience was in York and we loved it. Was less hectic, smaller, and much better layout. We did go on a Saturday night to be fair which partially explains the mass of people and high noise levels.
D. M.
Very enjoyable, a hood selection of food and desserts. Well done to the business and staff. Would recommend.
K. M.
Good for the buffet. You get a bit of everything. Good place to go with friends and family for cheap
c. p.
Good selection, but some of the food wasn't that warm. Would go back when its less busy
W. R.
Very interesting concept. A kind of around the world eat as much as you like buffet. As with any buffet, some of the food works better and some less well. Anything which should be crispy trends to dry out with time under the heat lamps. Also, with such large quantities quality and/or depth of flavour suffers to a degree.
It was a fun meal, with a great range of choice. Some of the dishes were tasty, a couple were ok.
The restaurant was very full, so booking ahead was essential.
A. R. U.
So many different types of foods! Absolutely amazing and would definitely recommend!
D. M.
Love Cosmo had such a good variety to pick from, all you can eat.
Highly recommend lots of choices and the deserts are great too! It's just over £16 when I went per person.
C. B.
Ok, with a lot of different food from various countries. Not great quality unfortunately and very limited wine menu.
F. L.
The fried noodles is a bit salty. There are many choices of foods from different Asian countries. I like Teppanyaki the most. Overall food quality is good. Members of staff are nice.
M. M.
Food quality was good, service was excellent. Removing 2 stars due to the cost. Was very expensive for 2 people.
s.
Used to be a regular, loved the place, but the recent price increase is crazy and no longer worth it.
D. M.
All the staff were on the ball, we never had to sit with dirty plates on our table! It was rather busy but all the chef's and staff were very patient and helpful. The food was delicious but I would stand clear of the sushi. It was dry for my taste. We had children with us and the staff were very accommodating!
J. s.
Not many options in Edinburgh Cosmos.. Not many live stations as expected.. but has some prawns and dumplings which were really good.
H. C.
Beautiful food, so clean. I would consider driving up from Newcastle just to visit this place again.
R. B.
Excellent choice, friendly staff, delicious food. Stayed in Edinburgh for 4 days, booked twice and not disappointed either time.
N. S.
The food quality has deteriorated since my last visit before lockdown in 2020, I was pretty regular here before. Many of the dishes were already finished and was not replenished even though we started around 19:45 for dinner. Still rating 4/5 based on past experiences before lockdown, its ambience and the time we enjoyed there for our corporate gatherings.
R. F.
Really good, it's very cheap and you can eat Chinese, Italian, Indian, Mexican, and Japanese food, ice cream, and a lot of cakes, I really recommend!🙌🏼
P. Q.
Excellent service. Good food, excellent choice with the exception of the desserts. Very poor show with the desserts.
M. M. J.
Excellent food from many countries. We recommend.
S. L.
Very tasty buffet, just not much sweets for choice
G. C.
Great selection of food to suit every taste. Reasonable price. Best to book.

SO MUCH FOOD! Imagine a place where you can enjoy all of your favourite meal, at once, in one sitting. Yep. We loved it! Big portions, lots of variety and great value for money. Runs a bit slower due to COVID restrictions but the team do a great job to keep you moving and your plates full! Definitely heading back here again.
J. M.
Enjoyed the food but don't think I ate enough for rhe cost
C. M.
So many choices of dishes to pick from. This is definitely the restaurant if you like buffet style and want many options to choose from.
They have pizza, pasta, carvery, Chinese, Thai, Indian and the usual chicken nuggets and chips available. Go up as many times you want and all for one price.
The tables have enough distance to make most people feel at ease, they have gloves to wear and a mask is required.
Enjoy, we did
l. N.
Food was delicious mainly. Though some of the food was cold or tepid at best. Curries and rice delicious and well heated. Some of the starters such as spring rolls were poor and stodgy. Japanese section scallops were freshly cooked to perfection. Slightly rare in the middle and tender mmm. Staff attentive and friendly. Needs to monitor those food temperatures guys. Lowered the enjoyment of what would have been a very good lunch.
M. H.
It's been about 3 or 4 years since I went to Cosmo, and I'm very happy to say that it was just as good, if not better, than I remembered. The whole place feels very clean and the food always looks and tastes fresh. There are still some covid restrictions in place, such as not being able to refill your own drinks and no chocolate fountain, which is a shame. But all the staff are nice and polite and great at bringing more drinks, clearing used plates and putting out new dishes very quickly.
J. F.
Friendly employees, nice atmosphere and very delicious food. Pro tip: don't pack your too much on your plate
M. B.
A world buffet, all you can eat style place. With the sort of food you'd expect from a place like this.
Food is above average with some prepared fresh at cooking stations.
Booking recommended at popular times as it's always very busy. Not the place for quiet conversation and ambiance.
Go there for large quantities of simple food from around the world.
K. C.
Loved it... we booked in advance and we're seated within minutes, despite some of the reviews I found the staff extremely friendly and helpful, and despite the fact that I am an extremely fussy vegetarian I feel there was plenty of choice.
M. H.
I really love all of the food and i like stuff’s behaviour. You can try this. Thanks
S. R.
Love this place. Huge selection of foods all cooked perfectly. If you've not tried it yet, then do it soon. You won't be disappointed.
m.
Great buffet restaurant. All food fresh and hot. Excellent selection
E. R.
Absolutley fabulous! When first entering i must say i was rather overwhelmed by the sheer size of the place, its huge. Everything you could possibly want to eat was there. Chinese, Indian, Sushi, Teppanyaki, Traditional British roasts, Thai, Itallian and more. And thats without mentioning the array of desserts. Everything we tasted was lovely and all beautifully fresh, i only wish i had a parger appetite so i could have tasted more. This was a first time visit for myself and my partner and we will definatley be returning next time we're in the area 5* A+ 😊!!
M. J.
Food was good friendly service a lot of dishes ran out and took ages to get refilled
D. S.
Not bad… But also not good… Disappointingly average
C. B.
Really enjoyed our family night out 4 plates and a sweet mmmmm stuffed
J. L.
Very very popular, you need to book in advance or be prepared to wait for a while. But it's popular for a reason... massive buffet and quality as well as quantity. The lamb in the lamb rogan josh was slow cooked to perfection. Great chinese section too. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
A.
Very tasty food (most of the time). Defo, it 8s worth to try. Clean and nice inside.
K. B.
Opening is reduced at the moment due to covid so it's essential to book in advance.
Staff friendly, food is good. Although very busy, food was topped up regularly. Mon to Thursday £15 eat as much as you like.
A. J.
Food was nice. Drinks service wasn't too good.
D.
It's great I would highly recommend cosmo the food and desserts are lovely
R. o. R. F.
Love a visit to a Cosmo, plenty of cuisine to choose from, we were asked to sanitise & wear gloves when choosing our food, did notice a lot of people didn't!
J. C.
My first time there. Pre-booked table for two to be on the safe side. The food was simply amazing. Iv never had chicken or duck that tender.
C. S.
Friendly efficient staff, tasty food at very reasonable prices.
N. R. N.
So many different types of food. Food is great, nothing extra special but very good. You pay 8 pounds to enter in buffet for lunch and you can eat whatever you want, so many times you want. Drinks are paid extra. I took soft drinks unlimited, paid 3 pounds, got glass and you can fill it in pipes with Pepsi, coke, etc...no 'private' table everything in one big space. Stuff really nice and helpful. Recommended 😀
J. K.
Every day at lunch time this place is extremely busy. The fact that so many people come here is testament to the value, choice and quality of the food. Couldn’t do this any other way but giant buffet. There are over a hundred tables but there are lots of staff taking drinks orders and clearing plates. Come hungry.
N. E.
Birthday treat for my eldest. Lovely selection of food and all delicious
c. s.
Food good & plenty Choice, Staff helpful.
K. S.
When in doubt around what cuisine you’d like for a meal, head to Cosmo. It’s got a huge spread including Indian, Thai, Chinese, continental and Italian. The seating capacity is huge and it’s very reasonably priced. The food is nice for the huge spread and I loved the tandoori chicken wings. I was disappointed by the fact that I couldn’t order 3 of the lagers listed on the menu (restaurant had run out). All in all, a good experience
K. G.
Nice place wide selection of food and desserts 🍨 eat all you can only one down thing it can be pricey
E. A.
Far better than most all you can eat places. Very good selection of international cuisines. I especially like the sushi section.
M. v. i. S.
Very nice ,lovely variety of foods ,friendly staffs.
N. F.
Went here solo whilst in Edinburgh and I've got to say, it was pretty good, I went right at opening so all the food was super fresh. Love love loved the duck pancakes and the sweetcorn soup was delicious, the servers were very friendly and it had a really good vibe, also super affordable but great quality
W. K.
Good prices, Great food and friendly staff
Y. M.
Great choice loved it. Very easy if you have family.n
P. R.
Cosmo word buffet is a definite must if you are looking for a reasonably priced meal.
Eat all you can.
S. P.
Honestly the food was good. Sadly the queue system due to COVID makes the process of choosing food much less enjoyable than it would be otherwise. Can sometimes skip ahead if you're not interested in a specific cuisine but it's confusing if you haven't been before as you don't know what's coming next... and then are stuck as you can't really go back and forth.
I was hoping to have way more sushi than there was but it was merely little bowls with 3 little California rolls each, which was the main reason I wanted to go. If I go back, it would certainly be for anything other than that. Hopefully things improve as restrictions ease.
M. K.
I've never been to this chain, and it's been a while since I've visited an all-you-can eat buffet. However, I think the concept doesn't really work during a pandemic as you have to rely on staff plating up the food in the interest of hygiene. The balance of quantities between items was difficult to communicate as you're talking with a mask in a noisy environment, and it's a slow process to select all your food and get back to the table. It ends up rather cold, and the food quality can be quite variable. There were some really tasty overseas cuisines dishes, but the more British ones on offer were of a significantly lower quality. The drinks were also slow to be served, they were no longer offering unlimited self-refills, which although I can understand for obvious reasons, the staff could not keep up with the demand. It was an alright experience, but I'd think twice about whether you should dine here during the pandemic compared to what you could get for the same money.
J. B.
Food is OK and variety is good. Place too busy and only about half of customers wearing masks to collect from buffet. Toilets cramped and very limited baby changing (only in a single disabled toilet) for such a large restaurant
B. R.
Great atmosphere and selection of food. Polite staff.
E.
The staff were lovely and very accomodating, had a buggy and they made sure we were in an open space and got the high chair without any issues. The food choice available is excel even during COVID times. Tables are distance enough to fit with current legislation.
Would come again. And will soon enough
T. S.
As good as always. Love coming here. Fresh buffet.
J. B.
Food wasn't the best. Needed to wait for drinks a long time.
M. A. T.
Worth the money. There were different choices for the food. The shrimp was great. Tepanyaki was also delicious especially the sirloin steak and prawns. Soft serve ice cream was also good. Dessert bar needs more desserts to it though.
M. J.
Great experience, it's a pleasant decor for a start but the food is top notch... staff did a good job with drinks given how busy the venue was. San Miguel was served in a pre chilled glass. Good job!
A. G.
You can find everything you fancy but if you love sweets and desserts that’s exactly where you should go for a delicious buffet ❤️
S. N.
Absolutely beautiful food. Worth the money
A. N.
My husband and I went there and had the best dinner! All the staff was quite helpful and polite and the food was really good! I would really recommend to pay a visit! You won’t regret it! We will be back for sure!
C. C.
Love Cosmo!
Didn't book as they have walk in places at Lunchtime.
Food was tasty and fresh with happy staff.
Really had a brilliant experience.
J. C.
Wait for entry but less than an hour with a convenient buzzer. Buffet showed signs of being busy but was quickly replenished for my next trip up. Different now the servers dish out and more queueing but same world food. Wee cakes are supreme
A. D.
Great and affordable quslity buffet restaurant, good for any occasion.
D. L.
Loved this place. Great choice of food and desserts. You definitely leave with full stomach. Don't forget to make reservations beforehand
A. A.
Absolutely delicious, so much choice and such a good price.
K. V.
We went for a fun dining experience of trying many different kinds of foods and left feeling bloated and unimpressed.. The selection was ok but the quality of the food left much to be desired. Most of the curries tasted like they were from a budget supermarket discount section, the sushis were dry and boring and the desserts simply bland and artificial. We couldn't find anything we really enjoyed. I would only recommend this place if you are starved after a day of walking and just want to stuff your belly with warm food of literally any kind.😂
J. C.
It's not bad for what it is, food is ok.
Considering that Covid is still an issue there's not much room between the tables, staff can be a bit slow and had to request the same thing on a couple off occasions.
P. F.
Absolutely amazing... A wide range of Indian, Chinese, Thai, Grill, Pasta, Pizza, Seafood and Desserts.... And all Fresh.
All you can eat... Fantastic.
Highly recommended and would definitely be visiting again 😂😂
A. P.
Love these places so much to choose from very well run the staff are great 👍
D. A.
Best place for asian food. Friendly staff.
S. C.
A place where young and old, families and friends gather for great buffet meals.love it
F. L.
Nothing much food to choose from and the quality is just okay. What do you expect considering the charge they are after?
G. T.
I hadn't visited COSMO since lockdown eased but I was very pleased when I went there last week. The choice of menu and the service could not be faulted upon... I even enjoyed the mocktail with the meal. I will definitely be visiting again soon.
w. f.
Nice restaurent.
Very, very good.
M. V.
Really good selection of food, decent sushi, friendly staff, recommend this place
A. M.
Staff were friendly and there was an excellent choice! However I found it quite expensive for a buffet.
g. D.
An overall great eating experience.
missed the grill as it wasn't on
Friendly service from the staff in particular Nancy and Cristos but all floor staff were fantastic. would Recommend
P. C.
Great scran, friendly staff and cost an absolute bargain if you prepare for a proper feast.
N. H.
Amazing choice, hot (where should be) and filing. No sense of urgency just take your time.
S. A.
Good variety but not that good quality wise, only few things are good in taste !
Y. B.
Food was great but we felt hurried by the staff. Closing tome stated as 10pm but at 9.30 they were asking diners yo be quick. Dessert range was very limited
l.
Plenty of options. My only gripe would be how long we waited for a glass. Very busy popular place. Strongly advise booking ahead.
D. A.
I'd rate 5 star, if it wasn't for the watermelons. Tasted a bit off, probably soap from the plate? Did inform the manager, and the watermelons were checked.
Tables are spaced well. Chefs gives you the food portions you want. Mask worn during queue.
A. A.
Go in hungry to get your money's worth. It's well run, there's a good system in place during the pandemic, and the variety is there to enjoy. As far as buffets go, this is the best one I've been to.
H. R. B.
Amazing food and a great variety. The staff were good, plates never stacked up on the table.
L. F.
Food was delicious and so much choice. 2 buffets and 4 alcoholic drinks and was £40. Very reasonable for Edinburgh
B.
Went close to closing but still a great selection to eat and be enjoyed. Lovely staff as well
J. H.
Cheap, tasty, friendly... Eat as much as you can!
R. S.
It is good to have cosmo back. C19 restrictions being handled well. Only bottleneck was at the glove distribution stage. Sad to see humanity no longer saying 'thank you' to the lass handing them out. Food good, perhaps even better than it was.
E. P.
Well worth a visit if ever in Edinburgh a variety of choices all delicious
M. S.
I love this place. I had most of my birthdays there I should have a discount for the next one 😂
N.
Food great. Brilliant customer service. Would defo book in advance as can be a long wait otherwise.
C. J.
Great selection of food, staff attentive and the place is a good level of cleanliness.
D. W.
New favourite.
Even with kids there's so much to choose from and always something they'll like (see dessert) they can try a little morsel of something and if they aren't keen mum and dad can always help them finish it.
G. B.
Great place food, lovely, all staff are so well managed and so helpful
A.
One of the most interesting place i've ever been. Food is not perfect but is ok, deserts are very good.
J. U.
It was really good food was nice staff were really good
r. m.
I love this place, great quality and wide variety of food to suit everyone.
S. R.
Booked a couple weeks in advance, although walk ins were being taken. They were advised of a 1h wait but the people behind us were seated practically right away.
Still appears to be the same number of tables and those next to the walk way have plastic dividers next to them.
To choose your food , all original stations are open and there are arrows on the floor guiding you. You sanitiser your hands before heading for food and then get disposable gloves. Take a fresh plate each time and enjoy!
The duck with spring onion, cucumber and plum sauce was epic. Butterfly prawns and southernfried chicken a highlight for me.
The bottomless juice option is suspended at the moment due to the virus.
Saturday night understandably super busy. Be advised!
O. A.
Food was delicious, tasty and well presented.
A. D.
First time dining there, excellent choice of food, all lovely and fresh.
O. A.
Absolutely amazing food and very helpful staff, food was delicious and definitely very filling. Worth every penny so would definitely recommend, make sure you book ahead in advance to save time so that you don't have to queue.
M. M.
The food is always pretty good here, anywhere that gets yiu a curry, dim sum and pizza on the same plate has to be good right? Theres a good selection of dishes and they're pretty kid friendly as well which is always a bonus.
D. R.
Fantastic selection of food, and an idealic atmosphere for a night out.
k.
Excellent customer service and variety of food
M. S.
Not enough vegetarian options. No vegetable curry and all the Italian options contained meat event though the website states its veggie friendly. Good Singapore noodles and chips
M. F. M. A.
It is the world's best buffet. The food is exceptionally delicious, but I hope in future they can provide better desserts and different types of soups to make it more superior.
M. H.
Totally worth waiting 40 minutes for a table! Amazing food and great expierience! Deffinitely worth the money!
I. C.
Went I for lunch..there wasn't much left and they never refilled what was on offer
A. B.
Pretty delicious food however a bit expensive IMO
C. P.
Food was OK, not many vegetarian options though
M. C.
Honestly for a buffet place, the food is incredible. I've had much worse individual meals from Chinese and Indian places
V. B.
Lovely food and great value
E. W.
Massive selection at a reasonable price. Don't go expecting the highest quality of food, but every dish we had (and we had most) was at least okay and some where great.
P. H.
Update: I've updated this to a 5* after speaking to Suzanne and being offered the chance to go again with some changes. This time around I was offered a menu to see food options and felt overall a lot happier. Food was great and would definitely recommend.
Original: Food was good however felt embarrassing as I'm unable to wear a mask medically, I was told to sit at the table and couldn't get up to see what food there was etc. I had to rely on my husband / carer getting my food and there wasn't any menus or anything to tell me what there was. Not sure I'd go again during the pandemic, ended up walking out crying in embarrassment as it felt like I was ruining the experience for my husband and mother in law
P.
A delight to eat here and be served by the staff. They are respectful and ate clear on the current Covid guidelines, providing gloves and anti bac before you can go to the servers to collect your food.
S. S. S.
Good place for non-vegetarians. Only a few options available in terms of main course for vegetarians. Quite liked the ambience and management. A good place overall to hangout with family and friends!
l. m.
So many different foods to choose from and what I had was delicious. The staff were very friendly and professional. I felt the restaurants covid measures were sufficient and commend them on there work.
P. P.
My partner and I went there last Friday mid day. Place looked great inside. Food variety was good too - had anything from Indian, Chinese, American to British. Desserts were alright. Cake was much better than I expected, as usually buffet desserts aren't great.
Service was good and attentive, plates were cleared from our table quite quick.
One thing I would say is that as me and my boyfriend drink quite a lot of water, no fizzy or alcoholic drinks, when I asked for tap water, we only got 2 very small glasses. I know other buffets offer a jug of water which would be a much better option rather than asking for water every 10 minutes 😅
J. O.
Best buffet we’ve had in a long time, great selection of food, staff were really friendly, recommend to anyone looking at going
A. R.
Great place to eat!! A little busy but then it's really good so it's to be expected will definitely be back! X
C. A.
Amazing food with so many choices..
B. M.
Very good covid rules in place. My hands were washed / sanitised 3 times before I was escorted to my seat. Staff do take contact details for track and trace. Food is served to you like a prison canteen with strict one way system and not to forget the tiny portions. Overall experience is not the same as going for a buffet where you can help yourself. Worth going back after covid.
T. I.
thousand types of food to choose, definitely not the right place to eat healthy. Just to satisfy your tummy
R. M.
Nice place for food. Not everything hit the spot (expected with so many options) but those that did, really did.
A. M.
Always an amazing selection and plenty of veggie options!!
N. J.
Good selection of food, drinks service was a bit slow, but it was an extremely busy night.
R. M.
Really nice food, Cooks n castle
N. G. H.
Very busy but excellent selection of dishes
Definitely worth the usually long wait in Q outside,my advice get ther early lol xxx
f. 4.
Love it here best place ever for food
M. D.
Cosmo’s is simply the best buffet restaurant I have ever visited, the staff are always friendly and helpful the atmosphere is very welcoming and the quality of the food is fantastic. I highly recommend the Rogan Josh my personal favourite.
D. W.
Was dining with a young person with additional needs. Staff were very welcoming and attentive, making it a great experience for this young man. Thank you.
L. A.
So much food yummy. The best part was not having to be stuck with the 1 meal. I took my plate and had a little bit of everything. Then hit the dessert section. Staff are fantastic. First time there but certainly not the last. The atmosphere is buzzing. I would totally recommend this to anyone who would like a change from normal restaurant eating.
V.
I went here a few years ago when I visited Edinburgh.
It was a very nice buffet, it was really good and I’d go again when visiting Edinburgh! I really liked it at Cosmos!
C. P.
Food was really good, had alot of choices and price was decent.
a. c.
Took my kids here for the first time ever, we all enjoyed the food. I found my kids LOVE prawns
They enjoyed getting to grips with the chop sticks. Plates were cleared promptly, nice seeing the chefs at work.the food was nice and hot. The server (cant remember her name but she had very curly hair) we had was fab. She listened to what my kids wanted and had a big smile on her face. I would come back
S. Q.
Very good variety of food. From starters to desserts. Chefs making dishes on request and unlimited soft drinks included in the price. This is very good value for money. The atmosphere is also very nice and well decorated. Self service place but all interactions I had with the waiter were pleasant.
S. F.
Very nice food no complaints. Staff were wonderful baby enjoyed the guy with the gloves very pleasant young man.
A. S.
My bad! I left a review for the wrong place, thinking this was another one. Wonderful food, huge selection, actually the best buffet we have ever been to!
A. D.
Food was amazing!! Staff serve the food to you and there is a one way system which helps burn off calories as it take awhile to worknyour way round. Staff very friendly and helpful. Worth the money!!
L.
It‘s a popular place. Food is good and there are many choices. Cakes and sweeties are tasty.
S. M.
Decent range of foods based around Asian cuisines. Currently it's not 'help yourself' , rather 'nod at the guy behind the perspex screen' and see what you end up with but does what it says on the tin
A. T.
Nice buffet and the price is resonable.
J. T.
Lovely large restaurant..book ahead its better to do so, good range of food
A. B.
Great food as always but covid rules not being as well followed as recent visit to Aberdeen
r.
Big and lovely. There is such a wide variety of food in comparison to the cosmo that i go to in London. Lovely place
K. (.
Extremely busy had to wait 20mind before seating gas ran out at bar during wait got our drinks just before we got seated 20 mins later as they put off hanging the gas for as long as possible.
D. 8.
Like usually very good. Great various kitchen food buffet. From british, italian, chinese, japanese, indian. Worth to come with picky friends 🤣
m. c. (.
Food was amazing as usual. Little bit of something for everyone. Very covid secure. Tempature checks and track and trace in place. Little wait to get seated but was expected.
T. S. G.
Amazing food live chef plates where food is cooked. Huge variety. Deserts. Carvery, Indian, Chinese, American, Italian & more. My only slight disappointment is that the table layout doesn't allow easy walking back to your seat. Too busy very difficult to get a table must book. Que on opening. Very clean bathrooms. Would recommend
V. L.
Total amazing food and staff was very helpful
A. י.
I’ve been here multiple times, and the vast array of foods never ceases to amaze me. There is always something for everyone, and they always have many dishes available. The staff are very helpful and polite. I especially like the series of mocktails that they have on offer. You should always make a reservation, though, because the place is always packed and I have came in to the restaurant (with a reservation), been seated having seen people who didn’t make a reservation waiting, and when I left an hour later, they were still there.
Overall a great place with a variety of dishes on offer.
A. G.
Excellent. Great choice of food. Good service and food areas clean. Prepare to book early as very busy.
S. S.
Everything is fantastic, but a better bar would be good! That review was 2yrs ago. But just friday there. I had booked myself and boyfriend for a meal. And yes it's all a little strange. As we all know we have to follow the 2m social distance etc... but those old days when we could serve ourselves are gone. Still a very good evening. And hospitality as always is spot on. Just mind and sanitize ur hands...
M. S.
Great multi flavor food with tapanyaki live cooking
H. J. v. d. M.
150 diff dishes. Great variety for meat lovers, but also have vegetarian and plant dishes, great service. Busy. Friendly. People were having a good time good atmosphere. My son would love it. If you love variety and or have a big appetite or want try something different you will have a good experience. Very good value for money.
J.
One of the busiest restaurant in Edinburgh. Best for buffet dinner included wide variety of items. The price is considerably less than other restaurants.
V. M.
Great all you can eat! Great choice but when me and my 4 year old were here on a busy Wednesday lunch time alot of empty serving dishes. No Mexican food and big holes where more Indian food should be. Signs were there telling you what should be there, but only clean empty trays. And alot of pudding missing too. But still a good lunch!
S. D.
Well set up for covid. Felt very safe. Buffet has 1 way system and staff serve up what you would like. Staff are really friendly and food is very tasty. Lots on offer too.
A. “. A.
I have only ever been to world buffet once before so only can compare by one other experience. The staff were really lovely and the atmosphere in the large room was great, everyone all seemed to be having a lovely time. All the savoury food was very good, better than the average takeaway, plenty of healthy options. So much choice , so would please a family or group that cant decide what restaurant to go to. The deserts were a let down as I like more home baked, not processed food. There was fruit as an option so good for diabetics. Children loved the chocolate fountain! I would go again if back in the area!
I. M.
First time visiting here and booking is highly recommended as the queue was massive when arriving just before it opened and I understand why. Food selection is good although not extensive but as they have cuisine from all over that is understandable. Food is fresh, warm and plentiful as the staff as constantly topping it up. Pizzas etc are all made fresh and can generate a queue whilst they are being made so timing is crucial. Staff were friendly and kept the tables clear of plates and took drink orders without issue. Overall I would highly recommend and cannot wait to go back. Food selection is from Indian, Chinese, Italian, grilled, Sunday roast and a desert area so should suit everyone.
P. A. W. G.
A great selection of freshly cooked food of international cuisine, at a great all-you can-eat-price and with a good service. However, it is not the best place to enjoy a relaxed meal as the atmosphere is a bit intense. Everybody's rushing to fill their plates and it can be a bit overwhelming.
M. P. M.
Great variety of food. The place is clean, comfortable and family friendly. At the end of the day is just another free buffet restaurant (and quite pricey if you are going on a Sunday) but it is nice and the cocktails are great. The staff are friendly and helpful. I would try to reserve way beforehand since it tends to get packed every day.
X.
Very nice, friendly staff. Recommend
J. T.
Cosmo is good. Great for the grandchildren as they can choose what they want to eat .....and not too bad for the grandparents as well!
c. b.
Absolutely brilliant all you can eat restraint! Highly recommend!
E. C.
Lovely place, absolutely great eating experience. The selection is absolutely huge, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and also a pretty good choice of desserts, with different cakes, jelly and a chocolate fountain. There really is a lot to choose from and the quality is definitely good, no way around it. For the price you pay (8.50 pounds on weekdays lunchtime), being it an "all you can eat" buffet, there really aren't many other places that offer you this good food.
The cons however are the a bit weird service and tiny things here and there that aren't that big of a deal to be fair, but all together couldn't let me give it a full 5 star. The lunchtime window is pretty narrow (less than 3 hours, after which it closes), and they bring you the bill and ask you to already pay for it while you're very much still eating, just because they're in a rush to close. But I'd definitely come again for the food, hands down.
C. R.
Nice choice of food.. get your moneys worth
K. T.
Good food but wish they would have a little space for those celebrating milestone birthdays.
c. n.
Stuffed was good tho friendly staff and warm and welcoming, and lovely food although would have rathered a booth after visiting they look well comfier
B. H.
Whole world of foods was amazing only down side there was no signs to say what and where each country was so you have to walk round but over all great food n service
S. L.
Have visited a number of times over the years. Great for a quick bite to eat. Lots of Chinese food to choose from, not much choice of Indian meals or appetizers. Think they can do with doing more pasta choices, especially for small children perhaps a tomato based sauce? Great selection of desserts.
G. G.
Very good atmosphere and attentive staff. Options at lunch are limited which is certainly a downside. The food available was good. The pizza was nice and well made. The noodles although slightly soggy are pleasant and the top of the list was definitely the pepperoni pizza. I’d say that the pizza is a good factor but if you just want pizza. There are better places. Would visit if hungry and need lunch.
L. H.
One feels more of a number than a human being - I wonder whether they pay their staff enough. The price is right - a bargain if you have a hungry child. Definite brownie points for being able to drink tap water without any fuss. The food was surprisingly good. You can eat healthily if you look for the salads and vegetables and the Indian section had some very tasty vegetarian food. We booked for 14:30 which was nice since the place got gradually less busy. Desserts were very impressive.
J. D.
Not usually into buffets but I must say that this one is pretty good. Nice variety and very tasty dishes. if you are into big meals, all you can it and that sort of thing, this is definitely a place to go in Edinburgh

It was fine. If you have a gluten intolerance I would avoid. All the gluten free options are clearly labled and it's easy to see what is what but there appears to be cross contamination with the food as it made me ill even though I didn't deviate from the options I could have. However, the rest of the party enjoyed the selection and the restaurant was clean and well presented.

Went to Cosmo tonight. First time since Covid19. So impressed with set up. Plenty sanitizer, tables well spaced out and great one way system at buffet with food served by chefs. In fact probably prefer way food was served. And of course very tasty as always

Good selection of food to choose from. The food is all fresh and tasty, bottomless soft drinks, and traditional roasts if you go on a Sunday. A very large restaurant, which I believe is busy at peak times. Slightly pricey for peak times, but better quality than similarly priced buffets. Fantastic pudding selection also, which is unusual for a buffet.

Great place for a work night out or gathering of friends. Well worth the wait. I recommend getting a buzzer used to call if you have to wait and go next door for drinks. Every style of food is catered and is always quickly replenished. Be wary, I made the mistake of eating lots of rice so missed out on alot of great food. Will be returning soon

Great choice of food. Drinks are a little pricy, best to go for refillable glass which is about £3. You can then get as many glasses of fizzy juice as you want. Not much room between tables, but this is normal in an eat all you can place. Staff are great. All in all we had a pleasant visit.

Hadn't visited this restaurant for some time but met some friends there recently. And was pleasantly surprised .The food was very good freshly made and hot .Had the beef in black bean sauce chicken onion and ginger along with rice all of which was excellent . The deserts were also very good good choice of cake and ice cream fresh fruit also available for the health conscious. All in all good value at £8.99 per head. The staff were helpful and efficient. This will be back on my list for lunch.

First time here in the evening and after a slight hiccup with our booking were seated promptly and our night only got better!
Wonderful selection of all foods, food was hot, tasty and well presented.
The best was yet to come. . .the chocolate fountain. . .amazing.
Will be back soon!

really confusing as a first time person there, no explanation as to what to do. head to your table, pop your things down. waiter comes over and you order you drink. then head over to the food where you grab a plate and get what ever you like, massive range of food. 16.99 was a good price, average quality (but its all you can eat, so absolutely no faulting it). i would definitely visit the place again
B. K.
Been here twice . Always busy. Even when you book a table you still have to wait about 30-40 minutes. Although lots of dishes available they don't replenish as dishes empty. Been 3 times each time the same. Cosmos in Aberdeen far better
R. C.
The amount of food this place has is quite mind-blowing. And it's all fantastic! All you can eat style buffet which you really should book in advance for. The price is reasonable for what you get. Make sure to leave enough room for dessert. Truly an experience you should have at least once. Indian, Chinese, Italian, Sunday roast, burgers, BBQ, what more could you want?!
J. M.
Visited at 6:30 on a Saturday evening. Was extremely busy. And sometimes you need to queue outside before getting in. But its testimony to the quality of service you receive along with the wide range of foods available. Vegetarian food also available. Small bar seating and a few tables available for those having to wait for a table. Would definitely recommend.

This restaurant is fantastic. Prices may be expensive at first but you do get what you pay for with amazing quality food and staff are friendly and happy. I honestly love this place and would recommend it to anyone. Even the pickiest of eaters would love this place as there is something for everyone. Overall this gets a huge 5 star❤️

Great choice, something for everyone. Good value buffet style restaurant, it's v busy at 5.00 pm on Friday near Christmas, but this is a good thing, it means the buffet is fresh. Great range of Indian curries, prawns, the sweet and sour soup is also good. We had to queue outside for 15 minutes waiting on it to open, which was a surprise but not really a problem.
L. S.
Very nice and good food and also very clean. 👍👍😊😊
Definitely I will come back 👍
T. B.
Good is great but always a long wait for a table and it is hard to book in advance.
J. A. B. F.
Is not the food with the more flavour but is the perfect option when you are hungry and don't want to waste a lot.
The relation price/quality is very good you pay cheap you receive high amounts of heap food.
As a student I go at least once a month.
BE AWARE that prices, and what is offered, change depending on the day and the time you go. During summer prices are higher than normal because of the festivals. It still it's a good option.
A. W.
Food quality, variety, and taste are actually great but the amount of dishes that were wet and cold in the rack with a lot of food particles still remaining on them was disturbing. Put my appetite off. Visited on 16 Feb for a Sunday lunch.
J. K.
Great selection of food of all cuisines. Tasty, fresh and hand made. Very reasonably priced. Am a frequent visitor there, totally worth it. Definitely recommend.
K. M.
Great Amount Of Choice Lovely Food Lovely Staff Kept On Top Of Used Dishes And Glasses Incredible Experience Thank You So Much COSMO.
M.
Good food that never runs out. No matter how busy this place gets they always keep everything filled. This is definitely our favourite restaurant in Edinburgh. Note that a reservation is required as there can often be up to 2 hours of wait for a table.
M. S.
Really nice food, a lot of options from around the world. I went there in a Sunday evening, it wasn’t busy and the service was nice.
E. E.
Quite expensive for what it was. Staff poor English.
a. m.
Not too keen on buffet eating would prefer a traditional restaurant. Plenty to choose from, something for everyone.
P. S.
Good for the price, very busyband a bit of a free for all but no real complaints
F. K.
Not all that exciting once you have been once. Best to go at peak times as they have much more choice in terms of number of dishes. Atmosphere is ok but that's not really why you are likely to visit a buffet.
L. E.
I did not enjoy my meal at Cosmo, first time ever, that someone has to dishout food for you, everything is not up to my expectation, food doesn't seem the same, you ordered salmon and its pre-cooked already, you are restricted, and the server are watching you, and telling you is that enough????embarassing.....
S. S.
The Pros: huge variety of different foods, service is quick, with finished plates being cleared off almost immediately, dishes were rapidly replenished to meet demand, it's a buffet, so you can eat as much as you care to.
The Cons: the quality of the food is mediocre at best (for the reviewers that said the quality was "great" I'm wondering what on earth they're comparing it to), not many vegetarian options, price was £16 for a Friday night, which does not include the price of a drink (which I think was an extra £3-4), and that seems pretty steep to me for mediocre quality food.
M. D.
Nice to go back to COSMO in a different world to what it used to be before Covid. However the food was fantastic great choices still available and great service by staff. Very clean throughout and social distancing well maintained.
J. S.
The selection was more limited on the weekday (late) lunch of our visit compared to earlier lunch sittings and evenings. The quality of the food was good overall but we had better quality and overall experience at their Aberdeen restaurant. The cleanliness of the bathrooms (and their smell) was very off-putting.
S. S.
Fantastic food and all the staff working really hard and doing a great job of keeping the place clean, and customers safe! We'll be back 😃
E. F.
I love this place. The Indian and Chinese food here is amazing. Always busy when I visit but I guess there’s a good reason. No fuss, just tasty food. I can’t say anything about Italian or American food, as I never try it here. Not 5 stars because it’s a really dark place with no windows.
A. S.
Quality and quantity is a match made in heaven so when you find it you need to praise it. Endless great food in a nice environment with professional staff. Always busy so best to book in advance but worth the wait of you haven't. Would definitely recommend for locals and visitors in Edinburgh.
M. M.
I love going to Cosmo mainly down the vast variety of food on offer. The standard of the food I feel could improve but the choice to you makes up for it.
Good value for your money and big variety is the reasons I would visit time and time again.
B.
Certainly one of the best buffet restaurants around. The food quality is surprisingly good for this kind of establishment. The sheer variety of dishes ranging all across the globe mean that you can take even the pickiest of eaters and not come away disappointed.
My only grumble is that they expect a drinks order while you're in the process of sitting down and haven't looked at the drinks menu.
Personal recommendation would be the dumplings at the live tepanyaki cooking station.
P. C.
Very good choice of food, very good value. Edinburgh has been hit and miss lately with the food quality not being up to par. However, the convience of having such a wide range of food that with keep all the family happy combined with the value keeps me coming back.
K. “. H.
Wide variety of world cuisine, excellent quality and value for the money.
L. G.
Best food ever and for that price is extremely better....all you can eat for less than 20 pounds sounds good to me. Great selection and variety of dishes and all very tasty. The restaurant is nice inside. Customer service is ok but I assure that with all the food you will eat you will not pay attention to it. Go there and enjoy a nice meal
C. T.
Not just a buffet but quality food, well prepared and kept fresh, which can't be hard with such a busy place with a quick turnover of the food. Even on week days it can be hard to get a table. Ive been to other places that charge more and are nit half as good. Visit, you won't be disappointed.
R. R.
It was buffet system and very busy place. Food was good and decent price. Over all it was a good experience.
A. K.
Busier this evening and staff really didn't cope well with the value. No space to wait and no sense of logic or customer service. Food as ever, fresh and delicious. The backroom and kitchen staff certainly keep up with the demand in a way that the reception staff seem unable too. After a frustrating wait a typical Cosmo enjoyable meal.
P. S.
It changed a bit since we were last here, there seemed to be a lot of dishes removed. Service was still great, I didn't mind having to queue for getting served.
J. H.
Very nice and manager dealt with a problem very well. Would return
B. m. M.
Awesome people who are trying their best with covid was a little slow on taking plates back but they where quite busy at the same time, food was good as well.
D. M.
Unbelievable amount of cuisine on offer, however quality isn't the best. Chef cooking Japanese food in front of you was excellent though. Other than chocolate fountain, the desserts were quite poor. Service was excellent and very cheap. The best all you can eat buffet in Edinburgh. If you like all you can eat buffets then you will love this.
C. N.
We had a good meal here when we visited the staff were welcoming and helpful food was good (better than the Bristol branch - had a lot more selection) Kids were happy with the amount of different deserts, and the pizza was pretty good I would recommend this for a family meal. Also the front of house staff ho greeted us when we arrive (female) was really nice to us and helped us out as we had booked for the wrong day.
T. F.
Good food and service just a looonng wait for a table.
E. M.
Love this place has something for everyone what ever the palate. Exceptionally run with waiter's lurking out the Shadows when ever you seam to need them ,instead of not being around at all or hanging over your shoulder waiting for you to Finnish. So well done Cosmo, was always someone there to help if needed. Also big thanks to the kind 3 to 4 members of staff that all took time out to sing happy birthday to my little girl who had just turnd 6, they also brought out a birthday cake and candles to her that had been brought in for them to bring out for her birthday. Thanks so much Cosmo for a fantastic night .
P. P.
Service was good and there is plenty of food, but the number of vegetarian options is limited. I didn't go hungry, but I also didn't get anything very special. I can eat vegetable samosas in a lot of other places. Also, there were a lot of children handling food and putting it back, especially in the desserts section.
r. M.
Great value for money
Very good quality of food and service
All in all I would strongly recommend it
T. S.
The staff are really well trained, knowledgeable, polite and very professional. They along with the amazing choice of cuisine, create a very warm and welcoming environment. Each time I go for a meal there, it has been an extremely enjoyable experience.
j. t.
I felt a lot of the dishes were not there. Not the beat value for money.Staff were very attentive
R. D.
A true world dining experience! If you can't find something you love here; you don't eat. Everything is clearly marked for any allergies which is very reassuring. Drinks were fair priced with a wide range of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and free refills on the soft drinks.
P. W.
If you can get there for a lunch in the week, Cosmos is especially good. There is a wide variety of food, often made fresh by the cooks while you wait. The duck spring rolls are particularly nice. Cosmos is good for children who are a little fussy because you will almost certainly find something they will like for an inclusive price.
B. M.
My 1st visit to Cosmo was lovely. Visited with my husband, mother and mother in law. We all enjoyed it very much. Lovely food in pleasant surroundings. A mixture of world foods buffet style from which you can pick and choose what you want. I was disappointed however, that the grill service was unavailable at a Friday lunch service. The restaurant was just about at maximum capacity at the time we were there so feel it would be a viable option for them. Bonus points for reduced parking rates at nearest car park.

Wonderful place to try various styles of delicious food.
Covid hygiene is excellent
Staff work hard making your visit special
D. H.
Food was lovely quite a huge selection of different foods across the world ... staff was lovely and accommodating.
M. M.
It was ok though! Too bad I can’t eat as much as the other ppl who coming here ! One and half plate 30 pounds
k. S.
Amazing choice of food replenished on a regular basis, food was hot and plenty of it staff replenished very quickly. were there for husband's birthday though they were very busy with a Q for tables we weren't rushed at all. Staff were friendly and helpful. place was immaculate as usual.
H. W.
Lots of options, decent enough food. Buffets tend to be jack of all trades master of none situations and cosmos is no exception -however I did find a few really delicious dishes. The waiting staff had one job - bring us a glass each for the bottomless drinks we ordered and it took 20 mins - asking 2 different people and finally going up to the bar myself to finally get someone to bring them - bit useless!
Overall I’d say you’re best going at lunchtime during the week when it’s quiet and almost half the price -£8 each is excellent for what you get, although at that time they don’t have the chocolate fountain, macaroons in the dessert section or a chef making to order at the sushi bar. Just not sure it’s worth the £16 on weekends and evenings.
J. M.
Good selection of food to choose from .
J. S.
They have a good wide selection of cuisine, very lovely 😍
S. T.
Very good would recommend to anyone coming to Edinburgh
N. R.
One of the best all round eating places in Aberdeen. Although a fraction of the size of its sister restaurant in Edinburgh, the food it 1st class, always hot (and you see the chefs and cooks checking food temperatures continuously). Something for everyone, guaranteed. Their fresh cooked-to-order counter is always brilliant.
Indian and Chinese better than many restaurants.
Only advice I can give - take it slowly and easy on the starters.
As you need space for the main courses and the deserts afterwards.
The staff are always pleasant, helpful and professional, on every visit with no exceptions. They are the best
P. M.
Great food, definitely a place to visit again.
J.
Exquisite food from different cultures and background. The food brings a bit of flavor and culture from each background. The live plating is amazing and the smells are always leaving you wanting more. I never want to leave. The desserts are also delicious and there's a chocolate fountain. Like who doesn't like chocolate.
J. -.
£16 all you can eat buffet. Brilliant value for money. Great selection of food and you can fill your plate as many times as you want. The service was almost noon existent and they tried charging us a £10 service charge so watch out for that!
D. B.
Food good for the price. .plenty for your plate .service very efficient staff very polite.

Was ok. Some food was cold but good bang for ur buck

All back to normal. Was disappointed after they started work after the lockdown.
But now it's great place again

Delicious, seared scallops done in teriyaki were the best
