I am not a desert person but this made me change my mind. They have a wide selection of delicious cakes, pastries, baked goods etc. We got the Chantilly fresh cream Gateaux slice which was an Italian vanilla sponge filled with Chantilly fresh cream and strawberry jam. It was light , moist with a perfectly balanced sweetness to it. And it costs us around £2.35 which wasn’t too bad. I can highly recommend this! Next time will try their Black Forest cake ✨

Love this place. Can’t believe how reasonably priced the treats are. I ordered 9 donuts for polish donut day and it only came to £10 - unbelievable! Can’t think of anywhere else that is cheaper than that. As you can see from the pics they aren’t small either. They also tasted amazing. More of a bread like texture than your normal donuts with nice flavour. I also had a pistachio cannoli which was delicious. Everything is so fresh and authentic. I am only giving 4 stars for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I like to be strict with my scores so try and not dish out 5s all the time. The only obvious fault that I can give is for the collection of the donuts. I placed my order and paid for my donuts over the phone to be at the neighbouring shop because I didn’t think I would get there in time before the shop closed. I was very appreciative that they were going to offer this service to me. However, I was able to get to the shop earlier than anticipated and the shop was still open when I arrived. It took them awhile to find my order but when they did it wasn’t prepared. So they had to quickly put a box together for me. Thankfully, I arrived early or else I likely wouldn’t have got my donuts from the shop next door. I purposely asked for 1 of each donut (9 in total) and they said that the only missing one was the original sugar donut. I was fine with that but when I opened the box, and as you can see from the pic, there was a few duplicates which shows that I never got all 9. I know, it’s not the end of the world, and I may be being picky, but it’s the small details that make a difference. Overall, the slight negative didn’t drastically hinder my experience (just minus a star😉). Will 100% be back. P.S. There are so many treats to choose from so if you are indecisive like me then you may be there awhile. Thankfully they are cheap enough so you can buy a few.

I was gifted these baked goodies from the Leith Sicilian Pastry Shop from my lovely sis. The cakes here are to die for. They are light and so soft. They are made daily on the premises. The fresh cream is just the right amount of sweetness. With the addition of fresh fruit makes it refreshing. My family have been buying birthday cakes for well over 30yrs from here. And I know of many other friends and family too. If you are in need of a treat or a cake this bakery won't disappoint. The prices are reasonable and not over priced. Sicilian Pastry is just wow if you’re ever in Edinburgh it’s a must as I travel from the Midlands. I’ve always visited Sicilian Pastry Shop when ever I visit Edinburgh. The variety is just amazing spoiled for choice. These macarons are done right. They are almost unbelievably delicious with flavors that linger. Customer service is first class - very personal and very nice. I would name favorite flavors, but the macarons are all so very good. these days quality small businesses should be nurtured a real gem. These cannoli taste just like the best ones I’ve gotten at Italian bakeries! They have the perfect combination of flavors and textures. The cannoli shells are perfectly tender and flaky, like a flake away in your mouth kind of texture.

AMAZING! If you need a birthday 🍰, look no further. Freshly baked cake will be so delicious that it will disappear into your and your guests bellies in minutes. If you want to treat yourself with 🥐🍩🧁 or cannoli, this is just the right place. They are so good you will start craving for more after eating one. Btw, the cannoli in particular is highly recommend and rivals the ones you could get only in Sicily. Finally, if you want good value lunch option, this is also your choice. Freshly prepared and grilled 🥪 or mini rolled pizzas are just the carbs filled option you need to get you energised for a productive afternoon. P.S. it always gets me when the super helpful and polite staffs tells me that they hope I will enjoy the goodies. There is no need to hope 😄, when you buy your treats here, you know that these will always be fresh, good value and delicious! Thank you!

I can't say it is bad. But nothing special honestly. It looks very promising, but not all items are as good. Nonetheless, the cost is very acceptable considering the hype for this kind of Italian food. I tried a few items: - arancini (good) - croissant crema pasticciera e nutella (very good) - sfogliatella (ok, could be better)

The cakes are phenomenal and cheaper than anywhere I’ve seen in town. I will frequently pick up a big box of pastries to bring into work for a fun treat. A typical cake slice or pastry will cost you less than £2. They are always a huge hit in the office and not a single pastry goes uneaten. My go-to is always the Black Forest Cake slice or one of the Berry Cream Tarts, try either of these and I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I moved away for 2 years and during that time I searched endlessly for a Cannoli that was even a patch as good as these ones... From Glasgow to London and everywhere in between, nowhere came close. So I returned from the wilderness after a long Cannoli drought and here they still are, in all their glory! Edinburgh’s best kept secret! There is always a queue of locals out the door and down the street. They do a huge variety of cakes and pastries everyday with a good selection of Italian savouries (the toasted focaccia with Parma ham, pesto, salad and mozzarella is unmissable) arancini, pots of pasta with various sauces. The best thing is the price, it is ridiculously cheap for the quality and quantity.

On the right side of this picture I present to you the most indulgent dessert I have ever eaten. Crunchy, shaped like a lobster’s tail, filled with a custard-like cream (crema chantillí) - it’s incredible! On the left is a buttery, shortbread type biscuit dipped with chocolate on either end. I have heard very good words for this pastry shop. I tried strawberry tart which left me with mixed impressions. the fruits and the white cream were amazing. Fresh and delicious. EDIT: 1 star taken off as of 30th June 2022. For whatever reason, they have changed the recipe of their pistachio cannoli. It no longer has any pistachio flavour. They've now coloured the shell a neon green to fake this illusion and removed the dark chocolate chips. What a disappointment. Original review: Nice Italian cakes and pastries in Edinburgh. There's often a line and make sure to arrive early if you want to see their full selection. The prices are reasonable and the cakes are fabulous. The macarons and doughnuts are meh but the the cheesecake and the pistachio cannoli are heavenly. Downside is that some of the staff can be a little rude or unfriendly (don't expect any smiles). A little customer service would make this place 5/5 instead of 4/5.

Oh my! So much fresh proper sicillian perfections to choose from. The price is so good compared to what some shops sell deluxe cakes for. Black forest gateau is the best, I never make it home with one without eating it on way. This is a dream bakery

This place is a gem. With a very wide range of sinful pastries priced from less than a pound to around two, they are nothing less than GORGEOUS. I'm not exaggerating, the cartocci will blow your mind. Sandwiches, sweets, cakes, everything at a half or even third of the price of, let's say, patisserie Valerie. You can also order your cakes there and so far I have only heard very good reviews. Beware though, it's very addicting.

I had a view to other people's 5stars reviews and there is not much I can add except to stress that there is no other place in town to make such cannoli (if you don't know Sicilian cannoli, please do a favour to yourself:try them!) First, know that it is a cash only location. There is a cash machine across the road out front of the Sainburys. The pastries are delicious and fresh. Amazing place if you are after great cakes and sweets made with fresh ingredients. I particulary recommend their famous sponge cakes filled with creme patissiere (or chocolate or jam) fresh fruits and fresh cream, exquisite very light and yummy! The shop is pretty small but the counter is full of amazing "pasticcini" and biscuits and every time we go there we leave with a bag full as we want to taste them all. A particular mention goes to the owner Franco who was INCREDIBLY kind and helpful with me when I needed some baking advice. 5 stars and more! ps along with the sweets you find many yummy savoury treats with great flavour!

A cracking spot, tucked away far enough down a Leith Walk side street. I had heard wonderful things before trying it myself and wasn't disappointed. Very reasonably priced and with a huge variety of both savoury and sweet, I got overexcited and ended up taking a box of goodies home. They were eagerly devoured, declared delicious and we determined to go back ASAP. I'd highly recommend the Arancini - I've been obsessed with them since a holiday to Italy 6 years ago, and these didn't disappoint.
