M.Wow, beautiful cakes, wouldn't believe how light they are you need to try this, this one in the photos is coconut, I didn't get a photo of my husbands (chocolate sprinkle) but hw said it was sickenly good, light and super tasty. I had one of the strawberries and it's just beautiful, wow will be returning to try others x
R. b.I ordered a black forest cake for my daughters 18th birthday and was so impressed.
Firstly it was huge, easily served more than the 20 it was for.
Secondly it looked amazing, beautifully decorated and presented.
Thirdly, and most importantly it tasted absolutely delicious, everyone loved it. These cakes are so fresh and light and because they have fresh cream rather than buttercream, they are not sickly sweet you so often find with birthday cakes.
Would highly recommend and would definitely use again for a special occasion and well worth the money. Thanks so much Cake Box!

I miss the Cafe-Konditorei culture of the Continent, and walking past this shop-front gave me hope!
The cakes on display look fantastic, beautifully presented, and the cleanliness looked first class.
So I bought a slice of Black Forest for £3.60.
First impressions were OK. A good size portion, three layers of choccy sponge interspersed with cream, with cream swirls and a cherry conserve on the top. So not "authentic", but a fairly good stab at it.
Taste-wise it didn't really deliver for the money. The sponge was a bit heavy, quite a dry bake. The cream layers were fine - clearly a refined/processed cream, but the cream swirls on the top had a bluish tint to it for some reason. The thick, syrupy "Cherry" conserve dumped on the top was the main problem. It overwhelmed the whole experience and totally masked the very modest flavour of the rest of the cake.
Overall, I'd say this was a decent supermarket-quality product, a factory processed interpretation of a German favourite. Nicely presented, but at £3.60 a slice I'll be going to Aldi/Lidl instead.

P. J.I've been to the Ipswich store 3 times now. Given it 3 attempts before reviewing.
first time I brought 3 slices. they where dry and horrible.
second time I brought 1 slice it was better however it was on the bink of drying out.
third time they say is lucky. this time it was true the slice i brought ago was how i see it prep that day although the icing & Jam on Kinda choc slide not for me maybe chocolate in place of the Jam on Top. the Chocolate Icing tasted funny.
I understand there cakes are not made there being a franchise like Greggs etc. but the issues above need to be looked at before starting another business
I've notice they are opening a waffle shop next door assuming same people as see manger/Owner? going between both buildings.
This wont stop me trying the waffle place although will only get i chance from me as same company.

R. H.Staff and managment give great reccomendations on what cakes to try, owners of the store are wonderful and take their time to speak to you when in store. I have nearly tried every flavour and all are absolutely delicious and one of a kind ! I would highly reccomend this Cake Box to everyone. The store is very clean and follow all COVID guidelines. If I could give them an even higher rating I would!!
