Reviews of Hardaker (Horsforth) Ltd

Lovely sandwiches I bought today but I won’t be going back. I would like the staff to wear gloves when handling food. This should be common practise.I paid with cash so the staff are handling my money then directly picking up ham and salad etc for the next customer. Rather unhygienic everyone knows money carry’s germs.

Very good value for money but I would like the staff to use tongs or wear disposable gloves rather than handling the meat for the sandwich I ordered directly with their hands

Excellent 'proper' bread. The Wholemeal loaf smells and tastes so delicious. The large white loaf makes the best toast. All the bread freezes well and the breadcakes in particular don't disintegrate like some bakery rolls. We are very lucky to have such a good bakery in Horsforth . If you like decent bread go to Hardakers

A good quality bakers! Hot sandwiches, bread, cakes, soft drinks and lunch time meals. Couldnt ask for much more from a local bakers.
Cash only - Is fine with me the prices are fair and quality is probably the best in the local area. I'm definitely a repeat customer especially when I'm in the area passing by.

Nice little bakery. Lovely Yorkshire curd tarts and fab Cornish pasties, but 15p extra to warm one up? No thanks. I won't be going back

Best Cornish Pasties in Leeds
Best Currant Teacakes fro toasting ( super soft & slightly undercooked so perfect in toaster)
Best Yorkshire Curd Tart
Staff are great
*** be sure to order a Bismarck, soft as your earlobe, it’s a large iced currant bun with marzipan inner & chopped nuts atop***

This is a lovely little bakery that sells a delicious selection of sandwiches, salads, pastries and other baked goodies. Very reasonably priced too.

Great Cakes but (quote) "not that interested" about customer feedback - Don't Accept Card
I went to to grab some cakes for staff after an appointment nearby. The cakes are great, 5* and would recommend, that's not the reason for writing the review: I get that it may seem trivial but I couldn't pay by card. As one of a growing number of people who don't carry cash this is mildly frustrating - over 50% of retail transactions are done by card and most people my age don't carry cash. I understand we may not be the target market but still, I asked why they didn't accept card as it is a pain, and I've not used businesses in the past for this reason. The reason for downgrading the review is their response:
I was saddened to hear that they were "not that interested" - I was treated like I was trying to sell them card machines rather than a customer trying to pay for their product. The woman also said the reason was 'due to signal', but when I pointed out the store next door took card and there are many ways to do it there wasn't a further response. I wouldn't feel compelled to review if the response had been 'yes, we're working on it', or 'we're looking to accommodate this for customers' , but the response I got was nonchalant. This shows a lack of care for what customers want and being unwilling to adapt to modern times, disappointing from what is otherwise a lovely family bakery and I know I'm not the only one they will be missing out on business on.
I want to be clear I HOPE this review prompts the co. to kindly have a look at accommodating more customers and ultimately doing more business - as mentioned the cakes are great, but I will be going over the road until this changes.
