Reviews of Blackbird Bakery
A. K.A wonderful little cafe in Crystal Palace. This was our first time here and definitely will not be our last. The cafe has an old-world charm with delightful little pieces that make up the decor. We ordered the Victoria Sponge, Banana and Dates cake, an Americano, and an iced chocolate. It’s rare that every item is exceptional, but this really was the case. The staff are friendly, polite, and very attentive to diners’ needs and requests. Great in the evenings when the coffee-and-cake yearnings set in.

I go back for the cakes but I’ve tried the coffee 3 times and it’s just not great if you want a flat white.
Also unless I got unlucky 3 times the croissants never seem fresh? Always atleast a day old, very dry tasting.
I want to love Blackbird more I just wish they’d sort out their coffee!
T. L.Probably the best bakery on the Crystal Palace triangle. Yes, it's pretty expensive, but it's well stocked and the bread - every one I've tried anyway - is delicious. The coffee and croissants are also lovely too.

Their customer service is so sub par. You would expect a basic “hello” or a “thanks bye” you get nothing other than “white or brown bread?”
R. R.No fuss, no drama.. perfect execution on the cake order for my liluns b'day. Gorgeous chocolate fudge cake. Not too sweet and not too creamy - kids and mums loved it.
Got a flavourless cake slice as well, which was one of the better ones we've had.
Would definitely recommend and I can't wait to try their sourdough breads!
