An inspiring sourdough bread making day at Juli’s house in East Sheen.
We were a small group of 3 - very welcome for a complete beginner like me.
Juli is an unfussy, welcoming teacher and although there was a lot to absorb, she immediately
followed up on our course with online backup, recipes and suggestions.
We baked and ate lunch together (courtesy of Juli) a relaxed, sociable and informative atmosphere.
I have no hesitation in recommending Juli and this course - all that remains is to take the next step alone!

I took a two-day 'Start Your Own Microbakery' course this summer (2019) with Iain Every of Every Bakes through the Bread Angels Network. It was totally wonderful. Two days of intensive, (but fun), instruction of techniques, knowledge and general chat that left me coming home with a huge bag of bread, and an even bigger amount of inspiration. I spent the next couple of months practicing my bakes and building my confidence, and then in September I followed through and started my own microbakery in Cumbria. I haven't looked back. Most importantly, I would never have done this without the going on this crucial course and without the support of the Bread Angels. Thank you for changing my life.

I did Mary Maclean’s sourdough baking class yesterday. It was an excellent day!
Mary hosts you in her house so you're baking in similar surroundings to what you'd have at home. You get straight to work on arrival and learn by doing and then talking it through (Mary gives a written copy of all of the instructions at the end of the day). Mary explains all of the ingredients you're using and why. She gives you tips on techniques for kneading, folding and sealing the bread. She also gives you some starter to take home so you can get baking straight away. Mary makes baking sourdough feel like something you can easily achieve, even for a novice like me. I left feeling confident I can put into practice the knowledge and tips she shared with me. We also made delicious focaccia for lunch. I would recommend a course with Mary to anyone who wants to learn how to bake sourdough bread and leave feeling confident they can do it. It was a lovely day! Thank you again Mary.

Attended a Bread Angels course with Juli at East Sheen Microbakery in London. Had a great time learning how to start a microbakery and bake various wonderful breads. Juli was knowledgeable, patient and an all round great teacher.. The Bread Angels course was really well designed and delivered and a lot of fun was had.

I had a brilliant weekend with Gaye Fisher on her micro-bakery course on 22nd and 23rd June. I learnt such a lot, both about bread and the practicalities of setting up and running a micro-bakery. I also came home with a large basket full of bread on both days - my family was delighted!
Gaye was warm and welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. I left feeling incredibly inspired and confident that Gaye had given me all the tools I needed to get my own little enterprise up and running. Thank you so much!!

I did my sourdough course with Iain and it was great. I came away with so much bread and felt super confident to crack on making my own! Iain was really friendly and his who house was lovely and welcoming. I would definitely recommend him to anyone living in the Manchester area.

I attended Gaye's Sourdough course on 9th June in Wallington. We made delicious bread, cake and crackers. I have gained a much better understanding about how sourdough works and feel more confident in my future baking. Corinne

My wife booked a sourdough class with Gill Grant in Eltham for my birthday and I had a wonderful day with Gill and 3 other lovely people. I learnt a lot and we baked 5 different breads and had my best ever Focaccia for lunch. It was one of best gifts ever. Thanks Gill!

Great fun and thoroughly recommended. Small friendly group and plenty of time for chat, discussion, questions. I feel inspired to make and bake my own bread, as well as to experiment with different flavours. And I'm already planning to attend the sourdough class!

I took a bread making course a few years back and it was really wonderful. The skills I learned have proven to be invaluable and I'm now baking loaves on a weekly basis! Thanks bread angels!
