Well, what can I say. Everything is here. Excellent staff, Amazing product of high quality with authentic flavor. It’s expensive but that’s the price for excellence. People are willing to pay 8£ for a tasteless cake from elan coffee… here you will pay more but you will be satisfied at all point. Can’t wait to go back. Thanks everyone for a warm welcome.

I’ve been to Cedric’s places in Paris. Given my work travel brings me to London once a quarter, I was thrilled to learn I could get his pastor now in London with the recent opening of this location.
If I had a complaint at all, it’s that they’re a touch slow. It’s because they’re taking their time with each customer and treating them with care. Hard to fault them for that.
Everything is so well executed: the food, the aesthetic, the packaging, the service. Very well done.
I had the Hazelnut and it was phenomenal. I also had the Scone, which was good and well executed, but I’d go for any other pastry over this on future visits. It just wasn’t my taste profile. I much preferred the Hazelnut and have loved his fruits in the past.
As I was checking out, they were walking around with fresh Madeleines out of the oven, giving them away to people in line. They came by and made sure I received one as well.
Very well done. Another win for Cedric.

This place was opened recently and it is quite fantastic. The triumphant tasting of croissants, cakes and the cappuccinos is what makes this place outstanding.
I'm sure it will soon become popular if they continue like this.
I'm happy I was one of the few customers who attended at their opening. They do have sweet tasty menus of all flavours you'd like.
I definitely recommend but they should improve a lot about their food. They should bring more varieties of different kinds of foods. That's my suggestion. Thanks.

Couldn't be happier that this spot has opened in London. The pastries were absolutely divine (had one of everything - my favourites were the lemon, hazelnut and Paris Brest) and to die for. Showing up on opening day, I was definitely expecting a queue - and indeed it was a 2 hour wait to reach the counter - but the staff at the Berkeley and Cedric Grolet were truly wonderful, attentive and kind. Lots of free goodies for the folks in the queue and people were excited to try the goods! Cannot wait to come back and have a meal here.

I was super excited to learn that my favourite Patissier opened a store in London.
I have been to the Paris store numerous times and have never been disappointed by anything .
While their iconic pieces like Paris Brest and Hazelnut cakes are the same quality as their Paris stores .. but sadly their Flan was tasteless..the vanilla beans were definitely missing as the ones you get in Paris were way more flavourful as you could see all the little black specks of vanilla in them. The staff was also very unhygienic in handling the flan as she used her bare hands to pick and pack it into a bag.. which was shocking ..! I had to reheat in the oven to ensure that all germs are killed.
The prices are much higher than in Paris.. but then again I wouldn’t have mind paying higher prices in London if the quality is exactly the same.

the staff is very welcoming, the pastries are delicious. Quality product I understand the price. and yes to eat quality products you have to pay the price, it's quite normal.

Absolutely divine. So light that you don’t need to share. Absolutely delicious

Finally the day has arrived to try one of the best patisserie chefs’ creations. It’s just amazing!!!

Cédric Grolet, renowned patisserie chef famous for creating desserts with the likeness of the fruits from which they are made, hops across the English Channel to open the doors to his first patisserie outside of France, Cédric Grolet at The Berkeley, on Monday 14 February. Enjoy!

Update: I now see the staff wearing gloves however only on 1 hand and they don’t change them - they touch their other hand with the glove on then the iPad etc. kinda defeats the purpose. Second I suggest they put some glass on the counter where the pastries are - people come very close and that’s how hair/dust etc gets on the pastries even salvia if people are talking without a mask. It’s not the most hygienic. I sincerely hope they consider this input as the pastries are fantastic and hope it does well.

I went today to check it out. The croissant was delicious. Prices a bit absurd but it is Cedric.. what was a bit horrifying and unhygienic was the fact that the chocolate chip cookie I got was put into the bag using his fingers without gloves! No tongs! Totally unhygienic. Please make your staff wear gloves when handling food. It’s a minimum.

I was looking forward to going as I have been following Cedric Grolet for quite some time. We were eventually seated at the bar for what promised to be quite an experience and the first thing you notice is how many staff they have to make this work. Most in Chef's whites with tall Chef hats all looking the part .
We were presented with a menu which simply stated Bakery, Savoury, Flower, Sweet, Fruit, Frozen Fruit so we had no idea what to expect.
The first item was a slice of dried croissant that was topped with a piping of chocolate ganache. This was an underwhelming start to the experience as the croissant base was overcooked and burnt on the edges. The verdict from all; a confusing start and pointless.
The next item also bakery was a custard and chocolate filled pasty which was under proved and over baked.
The next was our savoury item of a croissant with a lemon mayonnaise, avocado, smoked salmon and caviar. The lemon mayonnaise was so powerful it took over all other flavours. It was like eating a lemon sorbet in a croissant.
Thankfully the next two items of sweet pastry tarts were excellent namely the flower and sweet praline tart.
The last item was a palate cleanser of lemon sorbet which reminded me of the lemon mayonnaise again.
Included in the price was ONE glass champagne and ONE cup of coffee or tea. No more no less. Any extras had to be paid for.
Cedric Grolet has lent his name to this operation and I am sure he is a very talented pastry chef but this is not worth the money. When I see tart bases pulled out of Tupperware containers I get worried about when they were made. The finishing before us was for show and not a very good show at that.

Lemon is sour and it's great! Unfortunately, it was not given a spoon and napkins. There is a strong chemical smell in the cafe, which makes my headache.

(Translated) We were lucky to be the first to arrive with my friends, having not been able to choose we took everything we really loved everything except the scones after I think it's a matter of taste. We then had breakfast and the pastries are magical. For an opening and the hazards that go with it, I have nothing to complain about, so congratulations and thank you.
