Reviews of GAIL's Bakery Temple Fortune
A. J.
Gails is famous for their sour dough. But if you try their croissant muffin you’ll want to come here again. So happy Gail’s is close to our house now !
J.
Great food and service. Good variety of pastries, bread and I love their soya and oat hot chocolate. They use good quality ingredients and they're very clean as I can see them making pastries and stuff which is always a good sign. I also like how they cover their food with a plastic container. I don't like stores that have food on display with out any cover. It's not hygienic.
I'm a regular and visit host about every day so I've accumulated a few loyalty stamps on my card. You get them for bred and hot drinks
I also visit Gales in Hampstead and various places in London. They're doing well and have many stores. My only complaint is they don't do organic and there are other similar stores like Le Pain Quotidien that do but they lack the variety that Gales provides. If Gales did organic I would give them 5 stars. Also, coconut milk option would be good but not as important as being organic

Still delicious food but this branch no longer does cooked breakfasts/lunch just porridge from last I saw last week. A shame but understandable given the small size.

Great coffee-- great staff
Thank you for listening and the big improvements made to fight against Covid. The extra signs are a help indeed, the advice from the manager reference hand cleaner excellent. Gails is booming and with a big queue.
Still would be great to put a sign on counter saying - "No mask - no service" ( in many busy places close by) you won't lose a single client - you will only gain cients out of respect.

Great place in Temple Fortune. The oat milk cappuccino was really good. It’s very cosy inside and gives a warm feeling. The interior design is really nice. Service was also very nice. Definitely a good place to go for a coffee and food while in the neighbourhood. Can recommend this place.
A. B.
Great fresh products love the sourdough bread...7 members of staff one serving...
One Barista...the rest just present but not getting the service moving...Happy to see it busy 👍☕🥐

I am leaving locally I have little boy with whom I am coming every day. I love the atmosphere in the place the staff is really friendly professional. Food is amazing place very clean and really safe in current climate. The manager is fantastically managing the place creating warm and comfortable atmosphere he is great asset for the company. I would say that is plenty restaurants on the high street what makes Gail’s special is the great coffee and beautiful people who are working there.
M. S.
Very Good service specially at very early morning which all other shops are closed!
C. M.
Busy coffee place over the weekend, but very nice. Service was good and the pastries selection is considerable. Parking can be an issue.
J. C.
Very pleasant the hot chocolate was to small not in the right container.
M. S.
All staffs are very friendly and helpful, specially the store manager and another staff called Giammarco.
Drinks are lovely and bread and pastries are so fresh and delicious. Thank you .

Love the staff there, staff there are great always!!!always so nice to me.
But the customers who push in front of you and think your invisible, are rude people!!!. And gails staff should be given the go ahead to tell customers who behave like this, that sort of behaviour is not acceptable because everyone who walks in and queues is a paying customer!!!!
A. A.
They are welcoming helpful staff brilliant quality always good always efficient you want a good breakfast come here i do recommend it %100
K. R.
Great coffee and tea. Good selection of cakes and bread. The hot chocolate is a let down by my standards.
D. E.
Gails has me hooked on oat milk coffee lattes. They are the best.
B. R.
Lovely place to eat .great atmosphere and food taste delicious:)) highly recommended
L. S.
The quality of the selection on offer is of the highest standard. The service at the counter is friendly and professional.
E. S.
Always good choices, great coffee and tasty food... Even during these C-19 times Gail's is worth visiting. Nice to see staff cleaning as they work as we all know the importance of this nowadays
D. G.
The first Gail's I've been to, which, initially, with its warmish decor & closeness of design, promises much.
Overall, nice coffee & yummy fare, but, service-wise, a bit of a let-down.
Staff were not at all familiar with the food / cakes on offer, and, frankly, my initial attempts at ordering gluten-free were, uh, a challenge, to put it lightly. Sad, as it marred the overall experience, esp. with something as basic as knowing your product. More training needed, clearly.
But, as mentioned, food & coffee were good, so, not a total disaster. A nice place to chill & chat.

Great food, coffee and service
Love the relaxed and friendly atmosphere in this place. You can smell the freshly prepared food and lovely coffee. Unpretentious and modestly furnished, you just cannot fault the bread and food served using their artisan bread. To top it all, the service is very friendly and obliging. Cannot wait to go back and will do every time I'm in London.
M. A.
Great place to have breakfast with delicious breakfast and pastries.
D.
Gave me wrong order, and I spoke to the great manager the next day and gave me a pistachio cake and the parmesan chicken on bun on the house. So good. :D
M. P.
Great place to enjoy breakfast, coffee, snack or lunch!
L. d. M.
Hangs down my favourite place to have a nice cup of fresh coffee and freshly backed croissant. Everything I've ever tried here was delicious. Atmosphere is chilled and beautiful decor. Excellent place to take friends visiting and impress them.
L. B.
There is a good choice of bread and breakfast items however the service is incredibly slow. I visited on a Sunday morning just to pick up croissants and I waited 30 minutes in a queue despite having only 4 persons in front of me (most just picking up bread). The staff behind the counter should be able to work a bit faster...
J. M. A. F.
Nice attention and very quite and good coffee
C. R.
Delicious coffee and you must try the parmesan chicken roll
M. M.
My friend was down in London for the day and having recently moved myself from South West London to North West London, we decided to venture out for a drive. Feeling a little peckish after an hour or so, whilst searching for a place to park the car, we noticed Gail's Bakery. It originally looked like a restaurant, but we were pleasantly surprised to realise that it was in fact a sit in bakery. Fantastic food, all freshly baked. Polite and friendly staff. It was immaculately clean. A great find when your just needing a lite bite to eat. 10/10*

I have been meaning to give Gails in Temple fortune a review for a very long time but haven't got round to it. I have lived in this area for over 25 years and so I would like to believe I am aware of the type of clientele. I have visited Gails almost daily mostly early mornings and as I sit and dink my americano with oat milk and eat something deliciously calorific I watch the interaction between staff and customer. The customer is generally polite but rushed. The customer is often demanding and abrupt. The staff in Gails are in my opinion to be commended. Im no expert but at 50 years old I have had experience in customer care. Ive worked in a large family business, British Airways and I train staff in customer service. Your team at Gails deserve a medal. The food is meticulously displayed, the staff are fast, smiley, efficient. Tommy you manager is leading your team who I have got to know so well. Please make sure this goes noticed at your Head Office and let them feel valued. These are your team members at Temple Fortune who I know well and who look after me like I'm family, me and any like me who wont write here. Most people only know how to complain. So, Tommy, Alessia, Tara, Jemima, Duki, Irima and Vivian.... and to the others I may not know ... I hope you are recognised, applauded for your outstanding service and commitment to Gail's. Food and coffee is excellent always, displays perfectly arranged, hygiene amazing but its your team who bring me back time after time xxxx
d. m.
Very tasty patisserie and coffee...a bit crowded on Saturdays
A. K.
Nice pastries and bread. Friendly staff. Drinks are ok. However, I don't think the place has a very nice atmosphere and they had run out of the hot chocolate I wanted. Most products are a little pricey imo.
B. B.
Claudia the manager at Temple fortune greets all clients with a genuine smile . She is efficient hardworking and one of the reasons we prefer it to any other cafe. Coffee is coffee but good service is hard to find x
C. T.
We live locally but we never visited before this gail's store. Is not the same with the other gails'. The atmosphere is quite depressed and the breakfast does not worth the money that we paid! Coffee was nice! We will not come back.
A. H.
Absolutely love this gem.. Delicious breads, cakes, buns, scones fresh just out of the oven. I wish Gail's improve the coffee though..Across all Gail's coffee not enjoyable at all..
J.
Very friendly, very good product - always enjoy the visit, just a shame it is not a walking distance to us as we would be there more frequently.

Very good service, fresh cakes and pastries, and I got my fav bread.

This place is great! a good and varied selection of breads and cakes, making it hard to chose. Also, by far the best place in the area to get hot chocolate from.

Always happy at Gail's as they have Oatly Barista milk, also breakfast there is to die for, especially the sourdough bread.
J. R.
Beautiful bakery, kind staff and delicious food and coffee. It doesn't sell any vegan pastries, which is too bad, but still deserves 5 stars!
A. K.
Lovely cafe cultural vibe. This must be a chain as I have visited one in Islington too. Delicious drinks and tasty pastries.
B. L.
Outstanding food and drinks. Service is a little cold at this location compared to others, and not many tables, but ambiance is still great and the products don't suffer.
G. W.
Stuffed full of idle yummy-ish mummies explaining their problems to their peers or visiting mothers-in-law. Hatchet-faced young male estate agents are also much in evidence. I've usually been the only goy in there- apart from the Polish staff. Which maybe explains why it's usually quite difficult to get a table here.

Scrambled eggs on sourdough bread 😤
E. A.
Food is good but, if you avoid dairy, your coffee will be terrible. My latte with almond milk, which cost me £3, tasted terribly bad because the milk separated or curdled. When it happens, usually your coffee will be replaced. There are two reasons: either the milk (I mean soya or almond milk-like drink) is gone bad or it's been overheated. To my surprise, it was not replaced and I was told that it's supposed to be this way! Shocker!!!
F. H.
