Reviews of PAUL St Pauls
E. R.
Fantastic customer service from the staffs here on a Boxing Day. The croissants were fresh and the drinks were served quite hot. The location is apt, being right next to St Paul. The indoor and outdoor seating area is a hit
J. V.
Great costumer service! The guys there were so friendly! And the place has upstairs seating which is very cosy. You can also sit outside which would be great for warmer periods!
E. M.
Nice place. Love the mocha drink. But the cashier not paying attention. In a rush to complete order. Even though no queue.
J. P.
Amazing location just beside the St Pauls Cathedral. Lots of options to choose for. The coffee was amazing and the pastries were really great. Helpful staff. Highly recommend.
N. K.
Absolutely incredible Location with incredible desserts. Lovely staff and good menu.
B. A.
Fantastic - locations all over London, with the overwhelming scent of pastry. Service was kind and attentive. Wide selection of pastries, desserts, fresh baked bread and sandwiches, both beautiful and delicious. Lying in the shadow of St. Paul’s Cathedral , Paul is a perfect spot for mid afternoon croissant beurre and coffee.
L. T. M. W.
Paul’s is one of my favourite bakeries in London and it’s also one of the oldest too, so they have perfected everything over the many years.
Sandwiches, cakes, cookies, cake slices they’ve got it and they look stunning but more importantly taste incredible 🙌
P. D.
First rare service from staff there, lovely range of cakes, sandwiches and beverages. A little experiensive but you get what you pay for. Place was immaculately clean too.
P. S.
Artisan bread/baguettes with good fillings, irresistible pastries/cakes, excellent coffee in shadow of st Paul's cathedral, what's not to like
B.
Have a quick tea before enter St. Paul's Cathedral and it nice inside and out of this cafe.
Recommend!
C. H.
Great location next to St Pauls Cathedral and St Pauls Station is not far away, just around a corner. French café, famous for its quality deserts, bread, with very nice luxurious deserts, cakes, etc. and good coffee. I always enjoy their cakes and deserts. Parisian breakfast in London. Located in the City, near Paternoster Square. With plenty outdoor seating with great views of St Paul Cathedral.
A. H.
Love their beignets. Love the pastries. Best bakery chain.
D. F.
Great location. No parking. Saint Pauls Cathedral on its doorstep. Up stair seating is on very old pews from a church. Very quaint. Very nice. High quality.
M. S.
Fabulous building with the famous dome providing a spectacular centrepiece. Try to visit when the choir is singing and you will experience the awesome acoustic too.
A. B.
Coffee good, selection of pastry good.
Good value alltogether great for a such spot.
D. W.
Great place for breakfast, a lot cheaper than hotel breakfasts.
Good options and fab coffee.
Cosy and warm, friendly and happy staff.
V. G.
Good food with seating options outside st.Paul’s. Nice place to chill.
J. S.
It was one of my favourite deserts at all the time and finally they back to.bussines. Its so great in a summer time grab a cup of cold coffe take a table outside and just relaxing to looking at St Paul Chatedral
R. N.
Lovely cafe!
This cafe is great, their coffee and sandwich are okay, but the place is brillant.
I love it!
T. D.
Nice to sit in the shadows of St Paul's. Gorgeous dark chocolate cakes
M. S.
Very welcoming and friendly staff, delicious food but a company rather often has issues with card payments, that is sometimes dissappointing.
S. B.
Fantastic breakfast. Baguettes delicious, cakes fantastic.
M. H.
Super sweet, super sweet. You can get a nice drink and sweets experience without having all that sugar. Apart from that, the waitress looking at her watch when we said we wanted it to have here, with a serious reminder about them closing in one hour... not nice. I shouldn’t feel under pressure one hour before you close. Maybe the waitress should get the extra sugar instead of us.
G. J.
French style baguettes, breads, pastries, cakes. Good coffee. You can sit outside next to St Paul's Cathedral.
M. B.
Always a great place to visit for a decadent hot chocolate. Great selection of pastries, decent coffee. They do 50p off for those who with a travel mug, and a 20% student discount on top of that, making them outstanding value for students. Seating space can be quite limited, at least on weekdays
T. P.
It can get a bit squished eating at Paul, but the food is good and fresh. The coffee is great too. I only wish they could fix the confusing ordering system. I think 3 people were involved in serving me, each needed the same thing explaining to the next,
When the person came to take the money I hadn't spoke to her at all, and since the person behind me had just paid, so I had no idea she was addressing me.
In summary, nice food, not a bad spot to sit upstairs but the ordering process could be improved
J. G.
The food is really good. The problem is the staff. I got a sandwich deal with fruit and drink. First, no fruit. Only chips. I was offered an apple, so I ate that. I was told to pick a sandwich. Well they have sandwiches not on deal menu. I picked one not on the deal because I didn't know that in advance. I was charged more. Just be careful what you order. The food is delicious, definitely worth it.
H. L.
No idea why but this PAUL is very very busy. Apricot tart is my favourite. As the turnover is high so i presume food is fresh here. Table is never clean and service is chaotic but along this avenue PAUL offers the best pastries.
D. C.
Great coffee, superb baguettes, tasty fresh savouries, lovely desserts and most importantly always a warm and cheery welcome from Antonio and the lovely team! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
P. S.
Best sandwiches and pastries with great service staff
C. M.
Good service and good food, ok price
M. G.
Very good sandwiches. Nice location. Nodoby around, so no wait and plenty of space (but it's due to Covid)
S. C.
There is a distinct lack of indoor seating in thhis branch - two seats downstairs, and approx 8 two-seater tables upstairs, and was a little hard to get a seat, so ended up sharing a table with some other person as it was raining outside. Food was great, as was the coffee and pretty reasonable prices plus great quality.
B. V.
Patisserie is delicious, try the Apple Slice. This particular location unfortunately suffers from lack of space! Lack of sit down space, but more annoyingly, it is near impossible to view available selection of the day as patrons have to stand in front of displays in bunched up queues in petit front of shop area. Naturally, orders take longer, and this adds to the # of people standing around. No real competition in the area - the quality of bakes from St Paul's Cathedral's tea shop is a sin :-) - so best to go just before lunchtime crowds and hope for clear views of bakery displays.
A. O.
Beautiful location and lovely interior. I have had a canelé and a frangipane which were both delicious though my frangipane was very hard. The prices are quite high and the cashier was a bit cold but all in all a nice place.
A. K.
Food, pastries and cakes are always tasty and good quality. There is a sitting area upstairs but it is cluttered with cups and trays from previous customers. Outside, the pigeon are quite cheeky and fighting for every breadcrumbs.
N. K.
Ultimately, the food at every Paul is more or less the same, so you know what you're getting if you've ever been to one - quite expensive but quite delicious, rich pastries of your chosen flavour. The real highlight of this one is the outdoor patio area with a beautiful view of St Paul's Cathedral, a nice distance away from the fairly busy main road.
K.
Lovely spot. Went for breakfast and found it to be pretty poor. Ham and cheese croissant was barely cooked. No ketchup which I know sounds picky but it isn't difficult to get a bottle in.
K. P.
Good coffee and a great selection of pastries and delcious cakes right next to St Paul's Cathedral
G. T.
Lovely setting behind St Paul's, friendly staff and a very attractive counter, but the options are overpriced (the bread is particularly tough) and seating upstairs is like medieval torture; weird wooden pews and bulky chairs. Very cramped.
I.
Best location in London to have a hot drink outdoors. Good quality products. Amazing views. Staff is very kind. Tables could be cleaned a little more often.
M. F.
Wonderful joint to satisfy all your cravings . Wonderfully delicious varieties of baked sweet and savory goods . The prices are reasonable, the staff is highly professional and friendly and the service is prompt and punctual m
D. B.
The best thing about this Paul is the location, right next to St Paul (quite a bit of marketing trick here). You can sit outside and enjoy the majestic view of the Cathedral. Most of the crowds are coming to St Paul from other directions, so it is relatively quite here and very clean.
The only downside for me is that the patisserie and bakery selection is very limited compared to other London Pauls.
R. N.
I love going to this Paul after a long day walking around the city or taking in St. Paul's. It's quite small so you might end up having to wait, but the quaint decor and the yummy food are absolutely worth it. Their hot chocolate is decadent - the way hot chocolate should be done. Their pastries and baguettes are all great. The Duo Chocolat mousse cake is out of this world - a great gift to take with you when dining at a friend's place.
S. A.
Very nice to have a shop with lots of selections in the city, with st Paul's right outside. Best place to buy lunch and enjoy outside
S. S.
Great food and great friendly staff
D. P.
If you've never been to a Paul Bakery, you are missing out on some of the best (a tad expensive) cakes, pastries on offer in Central London from a chain, they also do the tastiest macaroons, which make perfect gifts!
They also offer a loyalty card, which if you use often you will get free offers, when I signed up, I got a few free breakfasts!
The only thing is finding this particular branch, if you are looking at St Paul's face on, go left towards a big gate and it just on the right, hard to find when you are coming from the tube in a rush it seems!
L. M.
The best way to start each day is to have a pastry and coffee at this place. Baiba and team are great. I also like the breads and soups and cakes here!
K. M.
Friendly staff, very nice cakes. 5 stars. That green marzipan cake with strawberries is fantastic. OMG, why there is no branch where I live :(
M. L. A. M.
Was pleasantly surprised by the young barista that served me. I think his name is Simonas. There was a queue forming and he was patient with my requests (empty mug on the side of my tea) and my questions about the chouquettes. Thank you!
C. R.
Although we waited in line for about half hour to nab a seat, I loved sitting in this bakery and having fresh (yummy) snacks and tea with friends. Just off Covent Garden, it's a really nice place to have a catch up with old friends
A. C.
I feel instantly Parisian whenever I set foot in this place - love the giant macarons, if a bit on on the expensive side. The atmosphere and setting makes this is the perfect place to people-watch by milking an espresso for as long as possible, along with my favourite pistachio macaron.
K. S.
Coffee, bread and cakes are generally very good at Paul. Their Croque Monsieur is very dry - reheated / precooked fair for speed. I'd rather wait abd eat a freshly prepared toastie.
D. P.
It was a really good experience to have a sandwich by the Cathedral...
The Italian guy who gave me the awesome sandwich was so nice and it was good to hear some Italian words! Thank you so much for you guys and I would really recommend the place for everyone!
A. D.
One of my favourite patisseries in London. It's a bit on the expensive side for a quick coffee, but given the location and quality - it's reasonable. There is a second floor inside and tables outside - options for any weather, although it's not always easy to get a seat there - it's quite a popular place.
G. H.
Slow to clear tables of previous customers used cups and plates. Outside looked messy because of this with rubbish blown onto ground around tables.
Coffee and snack good.
S. S.
I really like Paul and am happy when I spot one because it means I can enjoy excellent bread and very good coffee with the odd canole here and there. It's a quality chain.
S. P.
Happy that, on a Sunday, in an area where everything closes early, this place stays open for a bit longer. just in case if you fancy some hot drink by use cathedral.
L. C.
Lovely spot outside St.Pauls
P. A.
Popular spot especially in the summer. Tables inside and out which fill quickly at lunchtime. Good food and great coffee though
M. O.
Great Coffee, can get crowded. Toilets are a area where there is scope for improvement. No toilet paper and dirty floor.
A. P.
Great location & a yummy range of pastries and sweets. They were quite quick at making our coffees, too.
T. D.
LOVE this place. Amazing cannoli (I prefer the hazelnut). They price by weight for most goods so I mix and match a box-full everytime I go in.Excellent deserves from you guys!
N.
My favourite cafe and bakery, it's always warm and cosy, the hot chocolates are really rich and unique and the food is great quality.
N. M.
Good coffee and pastries. When good weather there is outdoors seating with a nice view of St Paul's Cathedral
B. M.
There are times when I would kill a man for a yummy cupcake, they are my favourites. And the ones PAUL Bakery makes are just like heaven to my mouth. I’d never stop loving them.
C. H.
The food is really lovely especially the sweet section and there is plenty to choose from. Would definitely recommend!
J.
Very good service, amazing hot chocolate as always, and small cute warm place. Just need to give more attention to ladies room.
R.
Lots of Outdoor seating with view of the cathedral
E. V.
Fabulous cakes. Coffee ranged from average to decent so a bit inconsistent. Staff can be bit unfriendly at times.
F. B.
Amazing hot chocolate and great pastries - far better than other similar places in the area!
J. H.
Lovely coffee in yhe most pleasant of surroundings.
Very reasonably priced.
S. C.
Best coffee & croissant in town! And I've tried oh so many!!☕🥐
M. D.
Not so much space. Very crowded. The choice is much worse than in Paris.
M. W. W.
I have to give this place five stars for their hot chocolate! Very rich and decadent..a chocolate lover's dream for sure.
M. H.
This place never ceases to amaze me! Everything they make is nice.
S. W.
I enjoyed a very nice palmier and cup of Earl Grey Tea, playing BS bingo listening to my sharp-suited neighbours's conversations!
F. J.
Adore it in every way but by far the most sensational hot chocolate. Real melted liquid chocolate, not thats stuff full of milk, oh and bread, pastries divine.
j. c.
It's Paul, and not very friendly. But good selection, and well positioned.
C. B.
Great location and the people were very friendly. The food and coffee were very good and I would highly recommend Going!
K. P.
This location is perfect for a great people watching view of St Paul's cathedral. The lattes are fantastic and the éclairs are so nice.
B. N.
Simply wren at his best
R. T.
Nice outdoor area near St. Paul's. Lunch time deal of sandwich plus coffee for £4.95 is a steal
J. N.
A lovely patisserie in the shadow of St Paul's Cathedral. Attend evensong then round out your evening with coffee and dessert.
M. L.
Decent French bakery chain with an assortment of salads and sandwiches for lunch. Good seating upstairs.
T. M.
Only a few items but all good ones especially the anglaise abricot!
A. R.
Typical Paul close the Cathedral. I stop here quite often to buy some treats for my family (they love the little doughnuts).
D. D.

K. N.

R. P.
Good food but quite pricey. Good selection for quick bites which is really convenient as a tourist.
D. R.
Fast service, and nice sweet desserts.
They have also some salad availables.
A. d. S.
Nice food, but mocha coffee is very chocolaty that you feel like you are eating it
I. G. B.
Fantastic treats' selection at a perfect location! Tables could be better maintained though....
M. V.
The bread is fresh and delicious but everything else is ridiculously expensive. £3.50 for 1 macaroon?
D. K.
The location is great and the food and beverages are as good as any Paul, but the sitting area is not the best.
R. v.
We had breakfast at Paul's. Very nice and good coffee ☕
E. D.
Great place for Coffee and a Cake if you visit St Paul's.
M. N.
Great tea, setting outside of St. Paul's cannot be faulted
A. K.
Very nice! Very expensive, almost £20 for 2 hot chocolates and two small pastries
L. M.
When this branch first opened it was great...now the croissants are overcooked and quality mediocre.
M. V.
Great place to have your coffee and breakfast, friendly staff and great atmosphere.
R. S. M.
Fantastic place for breakfast 👌🏻
A. A.
A good coffee shop with an even better view. Strategically located just outside the St. Pauls cathedral.

(Translated) It is a chain of coffee shops, this one is located in front of the Cathedral of Saint Paul, it has seats outside to enjoy good weather. The cakes are the best! You have to consider that there are two types of price, it is more expensive if you decide to eat inside ... It is cheaper if you order take away. They are all worth trying!
