Really good pies, and even the gluten free pie has a nice crispy crust. Gluten free gravy and mash as well. Service was helpful, especially when it comes to dietary requirements.
My pie was a bit lukewarm though, and the gravy wasn't that flavorful. The filling could have had a bit more salt, but was good.
C. M.
Outstanding service, lovely food, deer santa my favourite
P. T.
Takeaway and small inside dining establishment with great vegan options. We had the "steak" (jackfruit) and ale pie with vegan mash, minted mushy peas and gravy. Quintessentially English, thankfully vegan. Will visit again!!

Was so disappointed, was expecting traditional pie and mash, and I got a trendy representation the pies where ok but there was no mince beef ones, I was so gutted as I’d been fancy pie and mash for so long , please can someone open a proper pie and mash shoo in Islington
M. H.
Fantastic! I've been here on several occasions and have never been disappointed. I would recommend the "mothership" with a moo — tasty!!!
Food Hygiene Rating 5 (2017).

OMG what a gem!!! Go for it... Not a traditional pie shop but really tasty and belly busting... I had the moo & blue mothership which came with all the trimmings!!! Definitely recommend...

Pies are nice, portions are good. I'm not a huge fan of the prices but I guess they are in line with pubs.
I ordered a stake and ale pie which was nice. I would like to highlight they have mushy peas, in case anyone prefers the normal ones.
The takeaway boxes are great: I managed to walk for about 10 minutes in heavy rain with it and the food arrived to my office just fine!

This place isn't really deserving of the five star reviews if is getting...I regret not having gone somewhere more traditional :(
I was visiting london for only three days, and I really wanted to try english pie and mash. Upon research, this place offered the best variety in menu, and their Wild Shroom pie especially appealed to me.
However, the pie was sooo underwhelming and plain, the red wine gravy was flavorless, the filling was unseasoned, and there was definitely a stingy use of cream, one of the ingredients for the filling. I usually am one that prefers food that is under-seasoned than over, but this pie just tasted UN-seasoned to the point of being Bland.
Perhaps it was my poor choice in menu? Regardless, go somewhere with more tradition, please!

Great pies. It's a smallish restaurant serving the lunch crowd (not open in the evenings). The pies are really good and there is a wide variety. Sides are pretty limited in here but the mash is great. We managed to squeeze in with a buggy in spite of the size of the restaurant.
M. E.
Excellent pies, very friendly service and would happily return. Highly recommended.
T. Y.
Offers a wide selection of pies and some very high quality sides to go along with them. Quick service and decent seating too if you want to stick around while you eat. Only downside is the price, although for London it's fairly standard. Definitely worth checking out if you want something hearty!

Friendly service, great food. A bit cramped in there: get in early!

Pieminister was on my list to go because of the way they present their pies.
It is pie served on top of mash with gravy, optional minted peas, cheese and crispy onions.
They started off making pies in Bristol and they are so popular that they have joints all over the place with a few in London.
Expect to find queues at the Farringdon Branch on Leather Lane.
As it was December, decisions were hard because they had Festive pies as well as the regular choices so I was spoilt for choice.
In the end I ordered the Mistle Moo Pie (beef steak, port and bacon) and opted for Mothership which is pie, mash, minted mushy peas, Cheddar and shallots.
To my disappointment, they did not serve tea although they had water to offer but the tap for the water was severely broken and no staff were free to help so I had ask a diner for assistance.
The pie was just as good as expected, there were chunks of beef inside the pie in rich port gravy.
The cheddar, shallots and gravy all went well together so I can't wait to come back and try their other vegetable pies as they have some creative pies like the Heidi, Saag pie-neer and Kevin.

Pies were ok, fillings were tasty, but they had been sitting around too long (the base had turned rock solid) :(
L. S.
This is my absolute favorite place to eat in London. The gluten free veggie pie is amazing and it comes with mash! Plus you get a good amount of food for your money, which is an unexpected blessing in London.
A. S.
Good selection of different pies, from the classic to the slightly more unusual. Kate and Sidney (steak and kidney) is my personal favourite. Mash, mushy peas and gravy plus other toppings available too. And sells beer. Get there early towards the end of the week (before 12:30) to get a seat. Also offers takeaway.

Staff are so friendly, and the pies are out of this world
One of best pie and mash shops i been to. Definitely worth a visit if you love traditional pie and mash. They also do very tasty dessert
T. R.
Popped in here for lunch and was glad I did. Had the mothership- super tasty. It's licensed too so you can have a lovely beer with your pie. Gets busy so be prepared to share a table!
G. S.
Great range of pies, something for everyone. Some interesting fillings and seasonal specials. Can get very busy at lunchtime so get in early as the pies are fresh and limited.
A. G.
Crunchy and tasty. Had it with mash and gravy!
D. W.
Good quality pie and mash - a large selection of pies available. The gravy and mushy peas are also really good. Some nice veggie and vegan pies available as well.
p.
Cant go wrong for pie and mash! Lots of flavours incl. 2 vegan options (with vegan mash too). Proper crispy gooey pies with sides of mushy peas or mash or both + gravey.
S. M.
Nothing to write home about for vegans or vegetarians. Gravy has red wine which can be an issue for many. The spoon for mushy peas had its handle pretty much submerged in the peas, before it got taken out and I was served - so hygiene is something they should look into.
R.
Staff are great, friendly and fun. Pies were really tasty. Came on a weekday lunchtime and you could fine a seat but may struggle for groups larger than 4.
B. S.
If you like pies, then you need to come here for lunch and order a "mothership". This is your choice of pie, with mash, peas, cheese, gravy and fried onions. Epic! Friendly service and you can eat in for the same price.
P. M.
Pies are really tasty. I personally love Kate and Sidney.
H. B.
Lots of vegetarian/vegan options (Great for me) meat options too for the meat eaters. Gravy is vegan gravy, I had the mushroom pie with mash and gravy, delicious!
I. B.
For great pies look no further. They have a great selection of different options, sides and toppings. Rock solid pie shop!
m. a.
Pies are delicious and not expensive at all! Staff is really friendly and our order came very quickly. We will come back for sure!
I. M.
I had a lovely mothership menu (CLASSIC PIE, MASH, MINTY MUSHY PEAS, CHEDDAR & CRISPY SHALLOTS). It was really good and rich. It is a chain of restaurant so maybe not very original but though of an average good quality. Strongly advised!
K. K.
Great place! I went just as it opened and soon as I got seated the lines started to form. Great pies for a good price. I had the beef pie and it was scrumptious. Definitely recommend.
R. D.
Went here with some work colleagues. Great selection of different and odd pie combinations which were very tasty. Served with mash and gravy. Service is quick and easy. Perfect for a work lunch
J. M.
Sells the Pieminster pies you can get in Waitrose and a few other places, so if you like those, you'll probably like this place. It's got a good range and is open useful hours (good for getting something after work)-- fills a useful niche of hearty-food-briskly-served.
C. C.
It's a nice place and the food is good, a kind of rustic canteen style. The pies were nice, but I feel that for a place that specialises in pies, they should be some really good pies!
L. E.
Steak and kidney pie was a good lunch, and the gravy was rich and glossy. The shop is a modern take on a classic pie shop, with a hipster twist. Food was a little tepid, but good value.
J. M. R.
Great selection of pies and no other takeaway around the area caters to pies. Good portion size, friendly staff and never that busy so fast service.
D. F.
Steak and Guinness pie hit the spot. Lovely crust and good sauce inside with a good amount of meat pieces. Though it's not as good as Piebiury Corner if compared.
M. S.
Great selection of delicious, generously filled gourmet pies. And they're even better when accompanied with some mash, peas and gravy.
E. H.
Delicious savory pies with great choice of sides and toppings, busy at lunch time, only open until 3pm, limited seating but you can always get them to go.
N. k.
Excellent pies, their mothership combo is fullfilling and really tasty with a pie, mashed potato, gravy. Must try if you are near this area.
J. T.
I'm a northerner down south and these guys make incredible pies. The peas are beautiful. I'd say get the meal deal with all the trimmings
T. T.
The pies are good, sometimes you get a decent spoon of mash with it. The 5th star is absent because of the prices. It's expensive.
B. R.
Flawless range of uniformly excellent pies and sundries. It's wise to budget time for a post meal pie induced coma however!
L. G.
Excellent service and yummy pies
j. a.
Delicious pies and mash. Indoor seating is small but most customers have take away
E. (.
If you lIke pies you would love this place! Very reasonable prices, a pie with mash and a bottle of beer, just perfect
D. P.
Lovely pies. But go early because if you get a pie which is sitting there a while, the bottom will be rock hard.
N. D.
Great pies and cool atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone who wants to have a good pie and a good time.
J. P.
Decent range of classic British pies served with a range of overpriced sides. Good taste, reflected in the queue.
C. P. (.
Awesome pie and mash with enthusiastic staff. Only problem is eating there all the time makes you put on weight!
P. Q.
Excellent selection, service and staff. The three kings pie was amazing. Please open/come to Tunbridge Wells.
T. B.
Good pies at a very reasonable price. Great place to grab lunch during the work week.
L. C.
Finally I found a Pieminister with a space to enjoy a pie sitted inside.
Always nice staff and nice service...and the best Pie in London ever!
S. S.
The best gluten free pie going hands down. Lovely staff too!
G. B.
Good veggie options (including gravy) and now a good vegan option too. Nice staff. Good drinks.
D. M.
I don't really liked the pie in this place but, it's my personal opinion. You can go and try by yourself.😊
I. L.
Nice pie, but could do with a few more gluten free pies.
D. N.
Having a vegan option is a bonus. Pie and mash is the best comfort for for winter.
R. P.
I adore it here. So many vegetarian options to choose from, and they're all so tasty 😍
I. W.
Good vegan option but mash potato needs more seasoning, maybe some oatmilk and vegan
D. C.
Went there today for the first time. Had a wonderful steak and kidney pie. Great British food.
P. H.
The best pie and mash I've eaten the shop was spotless and the staff helpful and friendly
J. S.
Great, tasty pies & sides fighting it's corner amongst a competitive foodie street market.
N. B.
Delicious pies, perfect for with cold evening. Interesting flavours too.
A. C.
Great pie, mash was a bit unflavoured, needs a little bit more seasoning.
C. F.

Simple and essential place to taste fantastic and real british pies.

One of the better chains on Leather Lane - prices are so-so, but what you get for your money is filling and service is generally quick.

(Translated) Pieminister is a chain that was born in Bristol with the intention of bringing the classic pies of the English tradition in a faster and more frenetic context like that of London, attention to the ingredients and professionalism of the staff raise it above most of the restaurants of this range, the prices are fair and the frequent promotions make it a must-try for anyone looking for a true English meal at a modest price in a casual and relaxed setting.
The dishes are rich and nutritious with choices of fillings for every taste and need, from meat lovers to vegans to excellent gluten free alternatives. Finally, the staff (partly Italian) always manages to advise and explain dishes and dishes in the most exhaustive way possible.
My experience in Pieminister in Holborn was really positive, pieminister's dishes warm the heart and soul, satisfy the palate and stomach, giving unexpected satisfactions.

La mia esperienza in Pieminister ad Holborn è stata veramente positiva, i piatti di pieminister scaldano il cuore e l'anima, soddisfano il palato e lo stomaco regalando soddisfazioni inaspettate.
