Reviews of Seoul Bakery
J. K.
overall: authentic, cheap, hearty korean meal, what else can one ask for. tho expect a queue.
queue time ⏱: went on thurs at 12:45 & queued for 30mins.
fried dumplings 🥟: nothing special. store bought.
3 vegetables 🥕: spinach is slightly salty, but the others are simple, basics & good.
beef kimbap 🍙: authentic. packed full of different ingredients. OBSESSED with it. (even got one to takeaway)
tteokbokki w/ ramen 🍜: wished the rice cakes are chewier, but the noodles are cooked perfectly. the sauce is sweet & spicy, absolutely addicting.
H.
I’ve been going here for over 5 years now it’s it’s somewhere I always comeback to for their dokbokii. The wait can sometimes be incredibly long (I’m taking 30-1hr) but it’s always worth it. The prices are affordable especially considering the area. If something ain’t broke don’t fix it
C. D.
Kind staff, very good food. It was super nice! Highly recommend if you want to eat Korean in London. You can ask how spicy you want your meal. The pancakes are gigantic! The bulgogi is absolutely delicious, the best I ever had 🤩
A. C.
Bona fide Korean cafe serves up hipsters fav topoki topped with cheese, Gimbap, dumplings and the likes... reasonably priced
N. S.
Honestly the best Korean place in London. Nothing beats how cheap but amazingly tasty everything is!!! My absolute favourite. ❤️
T. J.
Prices recently went up by a pound or two (still really affordable) probably due to increased popularity/demand(?)
Comfort food and unique interior.
S. N. F. B. A.
Absolutely best korean budget eats in London or probably in the UK! But, long queue, and small space. Not great for catching up with friends, just come here for food then go to a coffee shop for a chat! It was funny as we were the last customer to queue and they asked us to hold this sign saying "Sorry ...No more" and needed to deliver this bad news to probably 10 groups who's coming after us. The restaurant closes at 19:30 and we arrived at 18:30 and we're the last people accepted to be in the queue and entered at 19:15. So, plan ahead before coming, as they do not take reservations.
N. A.
Great food for affordable price. Unique ambience. Suitable for kpopers and Korean food lovers
M.
Amazing hidden gem near Tottenham Court Road - just look for the queues! Staff are welcoming and efficient, highly recommend the kimchi fried rice with cheese and the beef bulgogi ghimbap. This homely, no-frills Korean food hits the spot every time.
Y.
I got the kimchi jjigae, beef kimbap and toppoki. My friend got the udon. The food is top quality and very cheap compared to make places in London or even the UK. The place is small which is a down side as we had to wait 25 mins outside to be seated. The food came quickly but there was no fish cakes in my toppoki. Overall, I would definitely come here again to try out more dishes.
M. C.
Very good Korean, really cheap and authentic food! Only downside is that the place is very small and can get too noisy quicky. You'll seat next to strangers on large tables which can lead to nice conversations! Will definitely go back there soon
G. C.
Affordable and tasty food! We waited for more than 30mins before we got in but its okay.. the food was definitely worth the wait!!
C. N.
Very good food and good prices! Couldn't recommend enough! It gets very busy and there's a queue around lunch hour so make sure to get there fairly early.
J. T.
Short queue. Only a few tables inside. No ahead bookings. Great food and service. Had cheese toppokki with noodles and small sides. Glad I got inside to try this very popular Korean eatery.
K. Y.
This place is one that I frequently go to as their service is quick even when busy. The food is more like made from home or a cafe, so it's cosy and warm! Definitely a place to go to try Korean food :)
s. m.
Loved the food so much! Definitely worth the wait. It’s a small and charming place with beautiful homemade food with incredible prices!! Definitely will be coming again. Staff also very kind and helpful!
F. H.
Heads up, there’s a long line outside depending on the timings. This is a small but cosy restaurant with very delicious and affordable Korean food. The top dish for me was the kimbap - really amazing value whilst also extremely tasty. The bibimbap is small in portion size, but I also really enjoyed it. The Toppoki isn’t the best here due to portion size and the rice cakes being quite small, but otherwise, it tastes great
H.
Overall good korean food experience, but noticed that some food wasn’t cook properly and served rushing.
A.
Great service and delicious food. The only downfall is that because of the small space you may have to wait outside on a line for quite a few, that is why I would recommend for anyone wanting to go to arrive early near the opening hour to avoid the waiting. If you want to try tasty Korean food and you don't want to spend a lot I will definitely recommend Seoul Bakery.
L. H.
This place is simply amazing. It's tiny and always crowded, but for good reason. The food is authentic and is so delicious. On top of that it's really affordable, hence it is very popular with the local SOAS students. If you are in the area, don't miss out on this gem!
Y. D.
We went for the K-POP room, and my 14 year old daughter was not disappointed. Imports that are decently priced for the fact that they are imported. As for the cafe, it's tiny, a constant queue outside, and I would've loved to have waited in it; the food looked and smelt fab, as well as it being dirt cheap.
L. P.
It is rare to find affordable Korean food in England, but this place really delivers on this aspect. The interior of the restaurant is very unique, and they sell a range of Korean popular merchandise including kpop goods.
Although the food was cheap there wasn't a lot of it. The amount of beef with the bibimbap was ridiculous, this place would have been great if they would increase the price and supply more food. The food is great tasting, and all the food we tried tasted great.
The restaurant is tiny even though they have a massive room left empty downstairs. The staff were rather abrupt and it seemed as if they had to do a lot at a time. So the organisation wasn't good at all
A. K.
The food was affordable and amazing. It is good value for money and the portion sizes are good. The place is small and you may have to share a table with others and wait in line outside, but it is definitely worth the wait!
F.
Wonderful little gem of a place. Great atmosphere with K-Pop playing in the background. The graffiti on the walls add that extra something making it more friendly and you can add to it so you can leave your mark. The staff had great smiles and were lovely and polite. Serving time was very quick even though it was fairly busy at the time.
I ordered 김치볶음밥 (kimchi fried rice £5.50) with egg and cheese (£1 per optional topping) and honey plum tea. All this cost under £10! The portion of the rice was generously portioned and tasted great. I have actually given up rice but I have to make an exception for this dish. The honey plum tea was just perfect, not too sweet. Although pricing is cheap they definitely don't compromise on quality.
A final note is this place is cash only and if you would like to visit the K-Pop memorabilia shop you will have to make an appointment in advance. This place definitely deserves multiple visits.
A. y.
Love this place. If you're traveling and you're on a tight budget, this is a good place to dine. Having Korean food in London can be extremely pricey and this place is just great to dine in without feeling the pinch in your wallet.
I've been here a bunch of times, it's a tiny little restaurant with very limited seats available. More often you'll find a queue outside, especially during peak hours. However they move really fast and people tend to go in and out quite quickly. They do takeaways as well. Definitely not a place for big groups. Maybe a max of 4pax would be the most. Otherwise you might have to wait.
On an average, you could have a decent meal with a drink for about £8. The portions are generous and it's well worth the money you pay for. Cash only though. This is an alcohol free place, you won't find any soju but you'll have a good range of flavoured teas available. Tap water is available for free.
There are also vegetarian options, however I don't think they do vegan or gluten free.
What we ordered for two:
1. Fried kimchi pancake: £7 (recommended)
2. Kimchi Jiggae with rice (spicey) : £6 (recommended)
3. Ramyen with rice cakes (spicey) : £6.50
They don't take reservations. Go there early and some times you'll find yourself ahead of the queue. You'll be welcomed by a very colourful setting. Feel free to draw on their walls too :)
J. M.
Tiny place, delicious food!
Went here last week when we were visiting London. A friend recommended it, and I'm happy he did, because we absolutely loved it!
Tried the veggie bibimbap and the beef gimbap and felt super fresh and authentic! We got it to take away cause it was a bit late, but I think eating it outdoors made us enjoy it even more!
It's cheap and yummy! We highly recommend it!
N. L.
Very good Korean food, and it is cheap in London!
However, you need to considerate about the space if you are a big group to eat there. They only have around 15 seats in the restaurant.
Y. W.
For the price, the portion and quality of food were alright.
T. K.
Staff was very friendly, the food was delicious!
S. A.
This place is cool.
Food: the food is very tasty and really nicely priced. The portions are huge, couldn’t even finish on my own. The options are limited but for that everything tasted really great. I’ll return and recommend it. Probably the best in the area. Kimchi fried rice with chicken was the best!
Kpop: can’t believe we have something like that here. Definitely visit if you like kpop or korea in general. Staff were really nice, we went to the kpop shop downstairs, you have to book at least a day in advance tho. It’s everywhere filled with messages of kpop fans and feels really homely. the things they sell seem unique too, you won’t find them everywhere. However they are expensive because of that. Bought 2 photo cards for £5 for example. But it’s definitely worth a visit.
J. L.
This is a tiny Korean restaurant with an affordable menu. It's a great place to have delicious but simple Korean food. I love the kimchi fried rice and the kimbap. Because this is only a small restaurant, you might have to wait a little for a table.
A. C.
Roughly 10 seats inside, so you have to wait for a while. For me , I waited for 90 mins. 😑😑😑
Not every food is nice, but kimchi is very legit.😋😋😋
S. A.
I walked in this restaurant randomly looking for a take away. Got Kimchi fried rice with cheese and sausagE let me tell you IT WAS SOOOO GOOD. 10/10 I usually never leave reviews but this none got me so inspired.
N. K.
Great place for a lunch takeaway. Affordable, speedy and tasty bimbimbap. Popular at lunch time.
K. T.
The food here is great, it's one of the best places for Korean food in London. The food is delicious and the prices are great and honestly there isn't anywhere else like this in London. Yes there will be a queue but it is worth the wait!
M. C.
Really lovely place. Very authentic as well. It's best to go their early otherwise you will be waiting in an extremely long queue as the restaurant is small.
T. M.
Wanted to visit this place for a while so I was so pumped when they reopened.
Went for diner before closing time which is quite early (7.30pm). Got a table directly
You can directly feel the vibe as student place, very casual place.
Menu is quite simple with few dishes proposed in several varieties and toppings.
All the dishes where good. Just disappointed by the Zanchi Gooksoo (noodles soup with vegetables and beaten egg), been the dish at £7 I was expecting more ingredients and flavours but I could vegetables were done in one bite ... when compared to the bibimbap ... which comes at £5.50 ...
Overall it’s good place to have traditional Korean street food with basic ingredients and price match. I would definitely come back and recommend the place.
A. B.
Its a nice small place for korean food, the food tastes great and the prices are really affordable. Its not a place to stay a long time, but a good choice for a quick lunch or snack. The atmosphere is quite unique but I think its cool.
M. S. K.
Cheap and cheerful and you can just get your uncomplicated Korean food homely fix here. I definitely miss the old place near Soho there was more better cooking but still I love coming here for a kimchi fried rice and gimbap once in a while. Don't come here for late lunch or after 5/6pm because it's very busy. I usually come just before they close and no one is there. Despite being busy it's worth the wait to eat until you are full for less than £10 reach that's if you really pig out. To note: cash only.
J.
Very authentic Korean in London and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend the Rappoki and Kimchi fried rice. Don't forget to ask for cheese topping!!
L. F.
Had takeaway vegetable gimbap from here at the weekend. It was absolutely delicious, really good portion and great value for money. Will definitely visit again.
G. A. L.
Absolutely recommended! I went here to try the kimchi fried rice, since I had seen it in several instagram posts. I am definitely coming back! I had the rice with three topings: cheese, fried egg and beef. Reaaally good. Note this is a cash only place.
Another nice thing, besides the food, they have stickers of some asian characters. I found there LINE characters stickers, postcards and cards. Super cute! I am a super fan of those.
P. L.
We passed this small Korean cantine on the way to the British Museum. Authentic Korean street food just like we tasted in Seoul, I loved the kimbap (finished all before we could take a picture...), casual and cosy atmosphere. The only downside is that the queue is long given the place only hosts limited number of customers, so suggest to go early or before they close up.
Y. Z.
Great service! Staff are lovely, it’s fast food
J. “. J. H.
Never really venture out and try new things but seeing as the weekend I visited Seoul Bakery was also the London Korea Festival I thought it was a perfect opportunity to try something new. Although small, I do like the homeliness to the restaurant. The one girl who was serving me and my friend was very polite and hospitable. There's was not a long wait for the food - which was a-ma-zing! I definitely will want to come again.
M. A.
Highly recommend the toppoki with cheese and noodles!
E. d. L.
Need no words. Even though I had to queue for almost half an hour, it was worth it!
Happy to be there! This is authentic Korean kimbob!
S. H.
Great for a healthy cheap and delicious express lunch. I always have the Bibimbap (typical Korean hot bowl of rice, vegetables, your optional choice of meat and a fried egg on the top). Service is quick and it is overall a satisfying experience.
J. L.
(My review is only for Bibim Bap) If you want a Korean meal served quickly and decent portion size, then this is for you...I ordered Bibim Bap. At £4.50 one really can't ask for more, but keep in mind that the rice won't be sizzling in the hot stone pot, the egg would be fried, and only a few slices of beef.
The seafood pancake next table looked good though...
L. L.
nice food with very good price😊
L. Q.
Maybe one of the best place if you want to eat Korean food in London!
B. H.
I have tried lots of Korean food on london, if I have to choose the top 1 Korean food in central London, for sure Seoul bakery will be my top 1. My first time to come to Seoul bakery was in 2012 and it is near Tottenham Court Road station , but suddenly the restaurant moved to other place!!! I was so sad on the moment, but now I am so happy to find you again !!!!!!!!! Really love the food in this tiny restaurant ! Cheap and tasty, very local Korean food !
a.
Food was just delicious and my friend and I were luckily just in time before queues started building ... I ordered beef bibimbap and kept adding their 'chilli/spicy sauce' I'm pretty sure it was gochujjang but anyways... it was rlly good and ofc I also had kimchi bokkeumbap which was gr8....kimchi was good as well... I was able to go straight down stairs to the kpop merch section I was quite touched by it and also wrote stuff on the ceiling lol... however prices threw me way off so I ended up buying nothing from there lol but anyways...I might comeback soon for the food because it was so affordable, good portions and DELICIOUS hehe.... (also side note: be prepared to sit next to strangers I dont have an issue with that but if u do then well.... err good luck I guess...?)
C. B.
Delicious tiny tiny Korean eatery in the center of London. The menu has all the basics from jeons to kimbaps, bibimbap, meat sets, stews, and soups. We had the kimchi jeon (best we've had in London), veggie kimbap, tteokbokki with dumplings, Korean miso soup, and a side of rice. Everything was incredibly delicious and soooo cheap (total was under £25 for 2). There are only 15 seats so come 10 minutes before opening or be prepared to wait. Downstairs is more kpop graffiti and a small store.
n. p.
The food is so delicious and the staff are actually really nice! I LOVE the bibimbap. the only con is that the place is so, so tiny so we go at like 11 in the morning but its worth the travelling and i love tottenham court road so its always a treat coming here
S. W.
One of my favorite restaurant to go to. It's small and cosy with amazing food at a good price.
C.
Wonderful food and reasonable price. The only downside is need to queue up for a long time
s. k.
the environment, the staff and the food was absolutely amazing and cant wait to visit it after this lockdown😊💜
H. K.
Best affordable korean food. So good its worth the wait
V. L.
It’s small so I had to wait for a bit but overall it was cheap and tasty. The waitress even taught me how to saw kimbap properly !
J. B.
Amazing soups! Good to come when they open to avoid queue. It can be really long! But worth waiting anyway
L. H.
The food was really nice but the space is tinnnyyy. Had to wait in the queue for 40 minutes... I think they should add more seats downstairs because it's literally empty.
K. 9.
I ate here two times when I was in London two weeks ago! Even though we had to wait a little bit it was worth it!! The food was really good and the staff was super nice. When we ate there the second day we brought some friends and we were 7 in total and they saved a table for us, we just needed to wait a bit. When we were finished eating one of the staff gave us candy (I think it was because she recognised two of us). That made us really happy and we would love to go there again!!!
N. L. V. 倪.
I love their food so Much, first visit ordered topoki with noodles and vegetables rice roll
The best toppoki I ever have
Service are excellent good, friendly stuff very helpful
Definitely will go again
b. h.
Great authentic Korean food, great vibes, decent priced, can't go wrong😆
D. S.
My friend took me for the first time and I had no idea because I had never had Korean food before. Safe to say that after my first video I was in love with the place. Although it’s pretty small and we had to way outside for sometime, the closeness made it feel very homey and intimate. I also loved all the doodles and drawings on the wall, it look awesome!
J. H.
Please do go here! It is a must! Perfect for a Korean food lover, and at what price? Very cheap! It never fails me, when I crave Korean food this is the first place that comes to mind. The queue to go inside is long but it is because it is popular! Worth every minute of waiting. You will not regret! The place is very small and cozy which may be a downfall for others but that is its charm. You will remember this place for a long while as it is a foodies favourite
M. M.
Amazing lovely service, great food (especially the side vegetables on my beef set, so yummy!) And even more amazing for the price being so low! 100% would recommend. Be prepared to queue
M. L.
Worth the wait. Food is tasty, cheap and fillingggg
h.
If your looking for great tasting Korean food I highly recommended going here. Each dish is like £5 and you get stuffed on freshly cooked Korean food. Definitely a must visit for any KPOP fans and anyone looking for great Korean food on a budget. It's very authentic, staff are friendly and attentive. It's a small restaurant and you will have to wait a while to be seated but it is definitely worth it.
M. D.
Very funky and unique interior. It's a cosy spot and a great place for a cheap and quick eat in central. I ordered seafood Korean pancakes with beef noodles. The pancakes tasted amazing but the noodles were too soft and sticky for my liking. Perhaps they soaked it in cold water for too long but there are many dishes that are fairly priced and the portions are filling. I would happily go back
D. B.
Seoul Bakery, when I first moved to London 7 years ago and was on as tight a budget as possible, was the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal out. All these years later, it's not changed a bit. Quirky Korean character and yummy toppokki.
You may have to queue outside as there's probably 15 seats max. But, patience friend, it's worth it!
H.
Visited here for three times. Fresh and homemade style foods, simply delicious. Nice price compare to other restaurants in downtown London. The only disadvantage is that there are not many seats so normally customers need to queue for awhile outside of the restaurant. But I still like to eat here when think of Korean food.
T. A. -. F. L.
A hip place, must visit place for k-pop fans in London. Quite small place, queueing will be expected. The food is basic Korean food but quite delicious and not too expensive for London. Shop downstairs. Not too many merchandise are being sold, but the place is quite unique. Worth a visit or more, if you love the food.
m. T.
Small restaurant, good food!I like the bibimbap here.
V. H.
Amazing food amazing price and lovely staff :-))) 3.5 for the rice.. can't believe it's in London
i.
This is super blunt review, Sorry!
For customers: cute place to eat, nice staff, little shop down stairs, food is good! If you're thinking of going it's worth it.
For owner: hey! I really like your restaurant, but to be honest for the amount you charge, a bigger space should be given to customers, I always remember having to wait a queue to get in, that's because there's like 15 chairs packed together! As a customer I'd like more space, etc. The idea of writing on the walls are cute! If you really want more people to come, make the space big! Nearly everytime I come there's a queue...
But anyways I enjoyed my experience and will be coming here often!
Y. H.
This place is awesome. Simple tasty Korean dishes, I often get takeaway for lunch and have probably tried everything on the menu. The kimchi fried rice with a choice of different toppings is especially good and so is the tofu stew. Does simple dishes way better than those so called Korean chain restaurants that charge £8-10 for one dish that doesn’t even taste like Korean food. If you want quick, cheap and authentic, go here.
A. L.
The food is very tasty and good price, the cook is nice too
G. O.
Always unique, always great, truly INSANE value for for money 😋😋
N. K.
No frills Korean foods but authentic and delicious!
T.
Cannot recommend enough. Delicious, reasonably priced Korean food, with a brilliant setting and very central location. Staff are very helpful and everyone there seems to be having a great time! Haven't been to the downstairs part of the restaurant but I've been told its great.
However, you will likely have to wait outside for around fifteen minutes at least, as there is very limited space inside and a lot of demand. Even when inside, it is a little cramped but that actually helps the charm of the place in my opinion.
Final little detail that everyone else has already mentioned, but allowing patrons to sign themselves by writing on the walls/ceiling/wooden beams/anything really is an inspired touch that really makes the place feel homely, big props to whoever's idea that was.
M. T.
The food was ok but good value for money. Our favourite was probably kimchi hotpot.
E. U.
Okay let’s say that the food is amazing and so the place however it’s too small and need to share the tables with other which is not bad tho if you are lucky. There are 15 chairs in total the service is quick but In order to get a seat you need to wait for customers that they finish their meal. Downstairs is really cool if you are a fan of Korean idols.
Definitely recommend the place.
B.
A tiny, casual and fast place with delicious but cheap Korean food. The walls are covered in K-pop fan graffiti, giving it a unique look. Expect to cram in on tables with other people. The bulgogi set meal was fantastic.
J.
Cute small Korean restaurant.
The food is really good and its very affordable. But the place is very tiny and you may have to wait outside for 30 minutes before you get a place to sit. Definitely not a place for large groups.
L. B. (.
Amazing experience!
Loved the place and the food.
The workers were nice and polite.
E. (.
Seoul Bakery is my go-to restaurant for Korean food. Their kimchi fried rice is undoubtedly the best I could find in London. The restaurant is very small and crowded but the food will not disappoint. They have increased their prices recently but it's still fairly cheap compared to other places in fitzrovia. Might need to queue for a bit in the cold though.
R. H.
Visited in early 2018. Sadly the merchandise was no longer there, so all you could buy was little things from the upstairs area above the fridge. The food was really good and affordable, even though there was so little space that we had to wait a moment for seats and then ended up sitting right between strangers. We ended up talking to the people next to us and making friends, so it ended up being a good thing! The walls are all covered in sweet messages to kpop group members, it adds a lot of character.
I. H.
Quirky hipster-y atmosphere that somehow works for this student joint. Dishes could certainly be prepared a bit more creatively, but the quality is still very solid. Homemade Kimchi is actually very nice here. Overall extremely good value for money.
S. L. L.
Love the bibimbap here and it is cheap! About £5~. And the kimchi pancake is delicious!!
K. S.
One of the Nicest Korean Resturants in Central with great pricing, Highly recommend the pancakes
J. A.
Ordered their bimbimpap for a takeaway lunch and it was delicious! No hot stone (£4.50 for the beef option) but taste-wise was spot on. Chefs are Korean so this is a huge plus. Pity there was no brown rice add-on. Will definitely be recommending to others :D
C. G.
Really nice Korean street food. not expensive and top notch. The place itself is small, not pretentious at all and best of all not expensive. Yummy food but be warned it's always full and you need to be ok with sharing a table or bench.
J. L.
Every time I visit London I make it a point to visit Seoul Bakery, and I only every order one thing - kimchi fried rice with cheese. I am pleasantly surprised that the prices have never gone up since 7 years ago when I first discovered this place as a student studying in London. Seoul Bakery has maintained it's quality (and it's crazy queues!) even after changing locations. They could really do with an expansion because it's always looking as if half of the Asian population in London decided to gather at Seoul Bakery for comfort food. Love!
K. M.
Hard to imagine there is a restaurant in London does such amazing Korean food. Usually quality may not be as good of food is cheap but not the case here. Very authentic food in a very cheap price. Quality of food is still as good as it was before it was moved from the old location nearby. Seoul Bakery has made me fallen in love with Korean food 😁
P.
This is original Korean taste. Price is reasonable. Though, this place is so small. There are less than 15 chairs. So you probably need to wait outside for long time before you get a table.
k. k.
My partner and I had a pretty long wait to get in - over an hour. When the food came to the table it was just warm. Saying that, the flavours of the dishes were delightful and the servers as well as the atmosphere is awesome! Will go again...just when they are less busy.
y.
Amazing food for really good prices. The atmosphere is so cozy and fun.
There's a bit of an issue with one of the waitresses though, she was quite rude: slammed plate on the table, walked off when we wanted to ask something, and when I was going to pay I said "£8.50, right?" and she responded with "Yes! That's what I told you!". She threw the change on the small plate on the counter and disappeared in the back. Maybe she was just having a bad day...😔
E. O.
Hi everyone! I would like to share my experience on last Saturday during my holidays in England. Seoul Bakery IS THE PLACE to be for any Kpop fans or Korean food lovers. Few hours before the opening times, I sent an email asking if I could visit the basement with my 2 children, I got a reply within short time on the same day. I was welcomed by a very friendly lady, she was patient with us. We were so delighted by the underground that we bought merch items of Kpop. The food was excellent, the staff was very nice! I will definitely go back there when I will travel back to England. (PS: Do not listen or read the negative reviews, just go there and judge by yourself (^_^) ) #BTSARMY#

Delicious Korean food, that's also very affordable. Seoul bakery is located in a very small venue that's very charming with lots of writing on the walls from previous guests, the staff are very friendly but the place does get packed out so you might have to wait outside for a little while.
L. L.
My favourite korean place in London. Defo my go-to for cheap but quality food! Bare in mind it can get pretty busy, so there might be times you gotta queue! Totally worth the wait tho! P.s. remember to press cash out as they don't take card!
U. C.
The food was well priced for its quality, much cheaper than other places. I would recommend if you are short on money and craving traditional Korean food. The serving time, however, was very long, despite being a simple order. The service was average, nothing special. You are not able to access the lower floor famous for its kpop merchandise unless you pre-book it. This was not clearly stated anywhere and I was highly disappointed by this. Do not be fooled and prebook it! The place itself was very small - I almost felt catfished when i saw it in real life as opposed to the stunning online photos. If you prepare correctly, I would suggest visiting there.
Z. A.
great place! SO CHEAP! you can eat a full real korean meal for 6/7 pounds!!
Try gimbap there!! Its amazing!
You may need to wait for seats but its worth!!!
C. L.
Great value. Most dishes are under £8. Lots of traditional dishes to choose from. It's extremely small though, so there's usually a queue. They do, so take away if you can't wait. It's not the fanciest restaurant, but you come here for the food.
P. P. O.
Cash only place and really small and cozy. Not enough tables so it's very likely you may sit across a stranger or close to a group you don't know. Didn't take too long to get my meal and it tasted homely. Portions could have been bigger. I got the spicy bolgogi beef with rice.
D. L.
This is my weekly market shopping location. I can find everything I look for that is Korean, no different then being in Seoul. They also make fresh bibimbab so that is also extra good. If you want to cook delicious Korean food, this must be your market.
C. Y. T.
You can never get a spot here, and the queue is always ridiculously long. What's worse is that they close a lot earlier than other restaurants.
Nevertheless, I do think the food is good especially for the price you are paying for. I had the Kimchi Fried Rice with cheese. It's nothing too special, but it's a decent, simple takeaway that serves as a much better, yet only slightly more expensive alternative to your daily 3-pounds meal deal. (Like come on, do people in the U.K just go for 3-pounds meal deal? The thought of it alone is so depressing).
Don't worry folks, I highly doubt the Fried Rice in Seoul Bakery was done the way it was by some BBC food presenter because nobody could be this absurd. So really, do give this place a try.
-. C.
Food is nice and the iced green tea latte was beautiful. The only problem was not the waiting time, but the young white boy that served us. He was very rude and impolite. He looked like he didn’t want to be there. Although, the lady that serves the drinks is lovely.
V. F. T.
Last Korean student eatery left in Tottenham court road, there was a whole Street of Korean eateries for students and there were unfortunately moved away a few years back due to the renovating of the area. I say student eatery because it's not really a restaurant, you queue for half and hour minimum to eat just about average Korean food, not worth it...
H. S.
Lovely, cozy cafe with delicious hearty Korean food. We got there on the Sunday just before 5 for an early dinner and got in straight away - recommend coming at the start of the evening to get in without having to queue on weekends
H. S.
My favourite Korean Restaurant in London period! It is a very small place with limited seating but that doesn't bother me. The food is what my concern is and it is very delicious. Yum!!!!
翠.
Good value and good portion. The food taste OK here. It's a small place and there could be a long queue outside. If the expected queuing time is higher than 30 minutes, I would not recommend you waiting here.
V. O.
It's a very cheap and intimate little restaurant.. there are usually queues because it's thee cheapest Korean food place. You get what you pay for btw lol it's cool though. They also sell K-pop merch! Ask a member of staff and they'll let you see all their stock.
N. O.
Bulglgo kimbap and fish cake soup is ace! Shout out for the kimchi fried rice as well! The place is tiny and you’d need to queue for quite a while to get a table which you’d likely have to share with others. Yet this is so worth it. If possible, do takeaway as it’s faster! Cash only for this place.
D. K.
Lovely cheap Korean canteen. It tastes good for the price although maybe they don't give so much meat. The bibimbap isn't served in a hot stone plate but still good. They also have homemade chilli sauce instead of packed gochujang. What I love the most is the atmosphere - the walls are covered in drawings and writings! Feels very casual. Sometimes you have to wait because the place is very small, but not so much you have to queue.
B. D.
My favourite teensy tiny Korean place in London. There are only 14 seats in the restaurant but worry not when you see the queue outside, you won't wait long! The food is delicious, fast and cheap. Try everything! And then go tour the British museum as it's nearby
k. v.
The most eclectic Korean restaurant/cafe in London. Absolutely cannot be beaten on value for money. Have been going here (and to their old location) for years. Finally giving the review it deserves, but am fearful I’ll never get a table if everyone finds out about this hidden gem!
K. L.
Really enjoyed the food. Quite cheap but is really delicious. As I am interested in Korean culture I would definitely go again and recommend to others. Really cool for those into KPop as well.
C. O.
Not the best Korean food in London but for the affordable prices, one simply cannot complain. The kimchi fried rice with cheese is a little salty and the kimchi pancake a little bland. It's a neat little cafe with very few seats though, so unless you're planning to takeaway, be prepared to queue up!
S. D.
Delicious but small portion food except the rice. A tiny and mean place--they sell hot drinks but unwilling to provide hot water in a cold weather.
好吃是好吃,有热饮卖但不肯提供热水
A. H.
Seoul Bakery is perfect if you're looking for a tasty yet good value Korean meal in Central London.
It's certainly not the best Korean restaurant in London - far from it. Situated in Saint Giles High Street, it's not even the best Korean restaurant along that road, which happens to have four or five Korean restaurants along it. But that's not a problem because Seoul Bakery does not pretend to be the best. It's small and it's cramped, but it's forgiven because it's fast and it gets the job done.
v. T.
One of the Korean restaurant that I always come with my best friend. Is a lovely family-run restaurant, with very reasonable price. Bear in mind you have to queue to get a seat.
H. C.
Casual canteen-style eating amongst K-pop memorabilia. This place looks popular with students, and when we came on a Thursday afternoon, there was even a small queue. You'll probably have to share tables.
We had bibimbap, seafood panjeon and kimchi fried rice. Even though the bibimbap was the smaller size, it was pretty generous, though would have been nicer with more meat. The chilli sauce provided was... not spicy. Panjeon was hot and crispy - a good sharing side dish. Expect to spend about £6-8 for a main dish.
M.
I love their kimchi fried rice so much that i have dreams about it, its so beautiful and delicious, the portion size is very good and the price is very affordable and tastes better than any korean restaurant I've been. Keep up the good work, hwaiting!! 💪🏽
A. D.
Nice little spot at reasonable price for location
J. E.
Very overhyped! It looks cheap but if you're hungry you need to order more than one course. £7.5 for a seafood pancake and £3.5 for a small bim bim bap. Service a bit confused and overall below average. Extremely small so likely you will be standing in a corner of a small room staring at people who are eating, for about 20 minutes before you get a seat. The environment is genuine though. But most importantly, the food is average.
U. M.
Heavily recommended. I had the bibimbap and dumplings, and I was very satisfied. The price is reasonable and pretty cheap, the cozy atmosphere with KPOP music in the background is enchanting. Will definitely come back.
L. I.
This is a very chilled out place to eat, cheap and delicious food served up quickly. Wonderful atmosphere at the right times- but it's true you most often have to wait and while you eat other hungry people would quite likely stare at you in envy :) I don't like the fact you have to share tables in here and the place is pretty crammed up when full but I still love it here cos there's always stuff to read on the walls, kpop playing and friendly, fast service and VERY CLEAN cutlery/dishes (one thing I can't stand in a lot of restaurants, especially pubs)
C. C.
yummy food - went here just before it opened so we didn’t have to wait to get a table. Reasonable prices! had the kimchi fried rice and tteokbokki and pancake
j. L.
Foods was really good unfortunately the service was slow as there's only two ladies working and apparently one of poor young lady has so much workloads to deal with the eat in customer and take away while another one seem so chill without helping her. couldn't blame the slow services on the young lady as she was very friendly! Will visit again.
J. H.
I came here for the kpop merch and got some food after! (first time trying warm korean food) and to be very honest, it wasn't my taste, but that might be because I'm a very picky eater! The place is very small, but cosy and they play kpop! I really liked it!
F. R. (.
This was one of our favourites little places for early dinner and chat. Nice and cozy.
I'm not giving 5 stars any more, as the portions are consistently smaller now and the miso soup is as big as an espresso coffee.
We're still giving it a chance as we hope it will be again the great cafe we fell in love with.
S. H.
Incredible, cheap Korean food! Tasty and big portions. They play kpop too, and sell kpop merchandise. Such a shame it's such a small shop but it makes it more special when you get a seat.
A. G.
fav korean restaurant in london. Great food and portions and just overall just 🤤🤤 i guess the only “””bad thing””” is how small it is so you can’t go in big groups but is that really a bad quality? and well you kinda have to wait to be seated
J. B.
On the way to the toilet there are two mostly empty rooms. One with just three chairs, a second full of giant cans of chilli and art. The cans of chilli are so huge, like almost 70cm tall! It is like a special wonderful toilet adventure. I love this place.
A. L.
Absolutely amazing food that always has me coming back. Great service and a cosy environment.
Only problem is the store size, only being able to seat around 11 people makes it difficult to eat during lunch and after work/school hours.
But overall it hasn't stopped me visiting twice a month for the past 4 years.
Well worth the visit and travel.
E. M.
Great service. No-fuss Korean food at very reasonable prices. Slightly early closing time - last order at 7.30pm for 8pm closing time. Recommend the soondubu jjigae if you're looking for something less commonly ordered.
O. i. d.
Waited for almost 2 hours in the rain outside to get a table. Food was great and the service was very quick, but sadly it was a pretty frustrating wait. Definitely helped to work up an appetite though. Will come back but try for a less busy day.
J. T.
I found the bibimbap portions a little bit lacking, and the place has really few seats (about 12 by my count) so you're likely to have to wait. That being said the food tastes great and it's value for money. If you're hungry I would recommend skipping the bibimbap set meal (costs £1.50 for a few drops of miso soup and a side plate of kimchi) and add boiled rice instead (£1). They also have Bulgolgi, Kimchi Ramen, Korean Pancakes, Sushi, etc. The place is intimate and friendly!
S.
I went to see the kpop stuff but the girl said that the room it was in was already "booked" I don't know for what. I think it would be a good idea to take the kpop stuff out of the room before booking it, but if you book it because of the kpop stuff in it I don't think you can do much else if not maybe notify the information on the official site (I travelled a lot to get there...). I also don't get the reason why you would book the room in the first place if it's for that reason 🤣 BUT the girl that informed me was very nice (we did not order, we asked and then went away) so It was okay I guess. The place looked cool!
E. M.
Great food, for a great price. Everything was very tasty and great portion sizes too. It's very popular so go early to grab a seat!
D. D.
Really cute place. Tasty dishes at ridiculously low prices.
It's a tiny place (maybe 15 seats) so there is usually a queue outside, but I think you can also book a table in advance.
A. P.
Delicious food, I had kimchi pancake and soft tofu stew and both were excellent. Expect to queue and don't arrive late.
A. S.
This is my favourite place to pick up some kimbap (Korean "sushi")! The chefs behind the counter are speedy with rolling, chopping and serving in a typically Asian plastic box for take-away.
I also get my bibimbap fix here because it's rather affordable - £3.50 - and it fills me up with rice goodness.
It's not the best place to meet up with a friend during peak hours though, because there are only three tables in the whole store, although it's cosy and cute when you do manage to get a table.
Best place for Korean take-away!
J. L.
I used to go there all the time when it was still at Tottenham Court Road, and I would give a five star back then. Went to the this new place today, was rather disappointed by the quality of food. The tappoki was too salty, and the rice from the vegetable rolls was not as good as it used to be. I did wonder whether they have changed the owner?
ナ.
cheap price with good quality of food
S. N.
Went there today, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the kpop shop was amazing, bought an album for £37 which isn't bad and the food was so delicious. Would definitely go back.
E. B.
I was introduced to this place by someone who recently returned from Korea, this place is great and very authentic korean cafe, complete with post its notes and drawings left by its patrons. Traditional dishes like Bibimbap and kimchi pancakes, noodles , and topocki are all great, really good value for money and friendly staff.
L. M.
Good korean dishes, but veeery small place with few tables. You can be here if you like the Korean cuisine (limited menu anyway) or if you like kpop.
S. C.
Reasonly price and good to experience home cooking essentially of Korean culture. The wait times and service is a bit on and off sometimes but it does it the need of authenticity.
E. 3.
It was nice, loved the music and doodling designs all over the restaurant wall. I recommend it for people who either love k-pop or Korean food, I for sure liked it.
J. L.
Food is tasty, price is relatively cheap in the city centre.
P. B.
Walking into this place was like walking into a Korean teenage girl's bedroom; post-it notes and writing all over the walls. The restaurant bustles with hungry customers and waitresses rushed off their feet to serve the 3 tables which are replenished with new customers frequently.
I wasn't expecting the food to be that great, as many Korean/ Vietnamese/ Japanese places tend to use cheap ingredients, but Seoul Bakery's chicken and vegetable noodles were amazing.
Well worth popping in if you're in the area.
H. S.
Loved the food. The price was good didnt mind the wait, but was upset not one super junior item in the shop. There should be more of a choice
Not just the major bands. I came from up north just to visit this place.
S.
Good portion sizes, and the food was made fresh! Would like to see more Korean drinks on the menu, such as ginger tea.
L. B.
When I was here they were really polite and friendly. They even showed me where the KPOP shop was and so I bought some things. There's so much KPOP stuff to buy. Perfect for everyone who likes KPOP!
If I'll be able to come back to London one day I will definitely visit the Seoul Bakery!
L. ..
I came here earlier today with some of my friends and I loved it so much! It's very cosy and the employees are really nice people~
The food was great too! I highly recommend checking it out.
However, I would advise getting there early as it gets full pretty quickly😅
k. k.
really good food! 5 bucks will get you good bowl of rice and veggies! korean goodness! this is definately a go to place! just on the way to musioum! this little place is full of good food !
C. L.
Truly authentic Korean street food. Note: it doesn't sell bakery food. But, it sells very tasty Kimbap (Korean rolls) and several other Korean street food (Tukbokki, etc.) that Koreans abroad would really miss.
S. M.
I am one of those people who prefer visiting a different place every time in order to try as many things as possible. For me variety is good at taste. However Saul Bakery is a restaurant I visit once every two or three weeks. This fact speaks for itself. The answer to your next question is: because of the people but above all because of the food, it is usually because of the food!
M. L.
First time was great, was seated pretty quickly and food was hot. Second time I brought a friend and the service was awful and the food luke warm. I'll probably return but not when the unsmiling and rude server is working.
A. G.
Quirky little place, very cosy and welcoming. They serve a variety of lovely Korean food and drinks. The toilets are super clean which is a pleasant surprise.
A. S.
Food is good. But it's a really small place, so you'd have to wait for a while before getting a table. On my visit, I and 2 of my friends ended up sharing tables with another group
R.
Simple and delicious. Kimchi fried rice is a fave
L. I.
Nice independent cheap and good quality. Very small restaurant, always people waiting
R. L. W.
Maybe it's different in London, but I've been to many Korean places in North America and they offer a great deal more - lots of sides, with refills if asked (bottomless kimchi :) ) and they didn't have any banchan. So, maybe it's a North American v UK thing, but it was good food, just different.
E. L.
It's very cute and reasonably priced. There are only a couple of tables, so it's better to come outside of rush hours. Food is lovely and delicious, staff is helpful and music is really fun
N. S.
Lovely and kind stuff, product prices were kind of high. If you wanna write something on the wall than take your own pen as non of them are working. Would visit again.
A. W.
Tiny restaurant, but tasty and cheap. Expect to share a table, and perhaps wait for a bit during busy times, but it is well worth the wait for the food. Service is efficient, there is a good variety of different Korean dishes, and the walls are covered in notes and things.
L. W.
I don't know what the hype is all about, in terms of flavour profile the food was average but the prices are good for the amount of food you get. One thing that was exceptional were the staff. friendly and considerate
J. C.
Great value, authentic Korean food in a cosy little place just off Oxford St. Be prepared for a queue at lunch time however, there aren't many seats inside and it can be very busy!
J. L.
You can draw on the walls, have amazing Korean green tea Latte's and the best seafood pancakes / fried rice in soho... i love it as does everyone i take there. Just fantastic. A total one-off in the heart of london.
T. L.
I like the food here, although sometimes the quality isn't stable enough. The staffs here are nice. Hard to find korean food with bargain price in London.
C. A. M. C. M.
The best food ive had in a while and 5+ stars ✨ for kpop lovers too, its just incredible and im counting down the days so i can go tp this cozy and super nice place
B.
Tasty and affordable Korean eats with cute interior. Try the gimbap — a rare find in London and totally delicious.
V. C.
Great place for home-style Korean food! It's a little cosy, so come at off-peak hours if possible. I really like the gimbap (Korean sushi).
L. S.
At first glance you would probably overlook Soul Bakery. Tucked away in the shadow of Centre Point behind Tottenham Court Road Station, this downtrodden gem has a hairdresser in the basement, it hardly looks like an eatery. Once inside, however, the bakery’s cosy vibe and simple menu will quickly convert even skeptics into fans.
The Bakery is student favourite, and you will often find them pouring over books with a cup of aloe honey tea. The walls are adorned with cutesy scribblings and doodles on post-it notes left by restaurant-goers, and K-pop is piped through the cosy restaurant from the kitchen. It’s a tight squeeze, with only two main tables, and you should be prepared to be seated with others.
So what makes the Bakery such a hidden gem? In one word: bibimbab. I usually opt for the vegetarian option, but other options include beef, tuna, chicken and tuna kimchi and range in price from £3.50 to £5. If you are particularly hungry add £1.50 to the price and get the “bibimbab set” which includes a cup of miso soup and kimchi or barley tea. The veggie kimbap (Korean sushi) is another personal favourite, and is only £2.50. You really can’t argue with that!
A. F.
Great place for cheap Korean eats. Authentic taste and very low price. perfect for students.
D. S.
Love this place! Tiny place and they only take cash, but the food is very tasty and cheap. An absolute must if you love Korean.
J.
Cool intimate place to eat. Food is very cheap by London standards but you don't get much meat with your bibimbap but what do you expect when you're paying a fiver for it.
S. O.
The food is always amazing and the staff are always kind. I would say that this is the best Korean restaurant I've been to
b. b. (.
Food is nice (not the 떡볶이) and albums are cute to look at (prices are wild, just order online). Overall a very nice shop with cute things
T. B.
Nice food. Good portions. Not too pricey.

A long wait to get in but worth it! Really cheap korean food! Must get the seafood pancake, really thick and full of fresh seafood!
M. J.
Love this place! Cheap, barely larger than a hole in the wall, cool atmosphere. The decoration made of Post-Its left by customers is awesome.
V. Q. D.
Tasty and inexpansive Korean food. It's kinda tiny so you have to wait a while to get in. Also there was only one waiter who was a bit stressed all the time.
J.
Tastiest Kimchi Jigae I have had in London with a generous portion of tofu. Will definitely visit again!
a. d.

(Translated) Although the price is low, the taste is good and the amount is just right for women. Since the number of seats is small, it is a basic shared seat, and when it is full, you have to wait. When I have no waiting time, I have them take it home with me.

値段が安いわりにはちゃんとした味で、女性にはちょうど良い量です。席数が少ないので基本相席で、満席の時は待たされます。待ち時間がない時は、持ち帰りにしてもらっています。

(Translated) Even being very hidden we found this Korean. The menu, despite not having a great variety, the dishes are good. It is a nice place although my recommendation is that you go early as there may be a queue at the door, even so they are quite fast in service. It is also quite cheap for central London

(Translated) It is a place that feels like a Korean restaurant, and it is cheaper than Korean restaurants nearby, but it is not possible to pay by card. While waiting for food, the fun of seeing the graffiti on the wall is easy and surprisingly, there are many foreign guests.
(Original)

(Translated) The location of the shop is near the British Museum
The store is small and not much location
But there is a very warm feeling
My favorite Korean cuisine when I was studying in the UK
It’s made by a Korean, the food is authentic
The point is that the price is very affordable
Must eat in London

(Translated) A place that barely saved me, Bob Soon-yi, throughout the trip to England for three days.
Close to the British Museum
The unfortunate thing is that the amount of Tteokbokki is too small and the rice cake is a bit undercooked ...
The store is very small and there seems to be an underpass, but I'm not sure because I'm going to guide you.

(Translated) One of the most popular Korean cuisine in the city of London! ! ! ! The meal is very high and the price is very close to the people. It is very suitable for many visits by London students~!
